Numbers 14
1 Therfor al the cumpeny criede, and wepte in that nyyt,
Entonces toda la congregación alzaron grita, y dieron voces; y lloró el pueblo aquella noche.
2 and alle the sones of Israel grutchiden ayens Moises and Aaron, and seiden,
Y quejáronse contra Moisés, y contra Aarón, todos los hijos de Israel, y dijéronles toda la multitud: Ojalá hubiéramos muerto en la tierra de Egipto: o en este desierto, ojalá muriéramos.
3 We wolden that we hadden be deed in Egipt, and not in this waast wildirnesse; we wolden that we perischen, and that the Lord lede vs not in to this lond, lest we fallen bi swerd, and oure wyues and fre children ben led prisoneris; whether it is not betere to turne ayen in to Egipt?
Y ¿por qué nos trae Jehová a esta tierra para caer a cuchillo, y que nuestras mujeres y nuestros chiquitos sean por presa? ¿No nos sería mejor volvernos a Egipto?
4 And thei seiden oon to another, Ordeyne we a duyk to vs, and turne we ayen in to Egipt.
Y decían el uno al otro: Hagamos un capitán, y volvámosnos a Egipto.
5 And whanne this was herd, Moises and Aaron felden lowe to erthe, bifor al the multitude of the sones of Israel.
Entonces Moisés y Aarón cayeron sobre sus rostros delante de toda la compañía de la congregación de los hijos de Israel.
6 And sotheli Josue, the sone of Nun, and Caleph, the sone of Jephone, whiche also cumpassiden the lond, to renten her clothis,
Y Josué hijo de Nun, y Caleb hijo de Jefone, de los que habían reconocido la tierra, rompieron sus vestidos.
7 and spaken to al the multitude of the sones of Israel, The lond which we cumpassiden is ful good;
Y hablaron a toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel, diciendo: La tierra por donde pasamos para reconocerla es tierra en grande manera buena:
8 if the Lord is merciful to vs, he schal lede vs in to it, and schal yyue `to vs the lond flowynge with mylk and hony.
Si Jehová se agradare de nosotros, él nos meterá en esta tierra, y nos la entregará, tierra que corre leche y miel.
9 Nyle ye be rebel ayens the Lord, nether drede ye the puple of this lond, for we moun deuoure hem so as breed; al her help passide awei fro hem, the Lord is with vs, nyle ye drede.
Por tanto no seáis rebeldes contra Jehová, ni temáis al pueblo de aquesta tierra, porque nuestro pan son. Su amparo se ha apartado de ellos, y con nosotros es Jehová, no los temáis.
10 And whanne al the multitude criede, and wolde oppresse hem with stonys, the glorie of the Lord apperide on the roof of the boond of pees, while alle the sones of Israel sien.
Entonces toda la multitud habló de apedrearlos con piedras, y la gloria de Jehová se mostró en el tabernáculo del testimonio a todos los hijos de Israel.
11 And the Lord seide to Moises, Hou long schal this puple bacbite me? Hou longe schulen thei not bileue to me in alle `signes, whiche Y haue do bifor hem?
Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: ¿Hasta cuándo me ha de irritar este pueblo? ¿Hasta cuándo no me ha de creer con todas las señales que he hecho en medio de ellos?
12 Therfor Y schal smyte hem with pestilence, and Y schal waste hem; forsothe Y schal make thee prince on a greet folk, and strongere than is this.
Yo lo heriré de mortandad, y lo destruiré, y a ti te pondré sobre gente grande y fuerte más que él.
13 And Moises seide to the Lord, Egipcians `here not, fro whos myddil thou leddist out this puple,
Y Moisés respondió a Jehová: Y oírlo han los Egipcios, porque de en medio de él sacaste a este pueblo con tu fortaleza.
14 and the dwelleris of this loond, whiche herden that thou, Lord, art in this puple, and art seyn face to face, and that thi cloude defendith hem, and that thou goist bifore hem in a pilere of cloude bi dai,
Y dirán los Egipcios a los habitadores de esta tierra, los cuales han ya oído que tú, oh Jehová, estabas en medio de este pueblo, que ojo a ojo aparecías tú, oh Jehová, y que tu nube estaba sobre ellos y que de día ibas delante de ellos en columna de nube, y de noche en columna de fuego;
15 and in a piler of fier bi nyyt, that thou hast slayn so greet a multitude as o man,
Y que has hecho morir a este pueblo como a un hombre: y dirán las gentes, que oyeren tu fama, diciendo:
16 and seie thei, He myyte not brynge this puple in to the lond for whiche he swoor, therfor he killide hem in wildirnesse;
Porque no pudo Jehová meter este pueblo en la tierra de la cual les había jurado, los mató en el desierto.
17 therfor the strengthe of the Lord be magnified, as thou hast swore. And Moises seide,
Ahora, pues, yo te ruego que sea magnificada la fortaleza del Señor, como lo hablaste, diciendo:
18 Lord pacient, and of myche mercy, doynge awei wickidnesse and trespassis, and leeuynge no man vngilti, which visitist the synnes of fadris in to sones in to the thridde and fourthe generacioun, Y biseche,
Jehová, luengo de iras, y grande en misericordia, que suelta la iniquidad y la rebelión: y absolviendo no absolverá. Que visita la maldad de los padres sobre los hijos hasta los terceros y hasta los cuartos.
19 foryyue thou the synne of this thi puple, aftir the greetnesse of thi merci, as thou were merciful to men goynge out of Egipt `til to this place.
Perdona ahora la iniquidad de este pueblo según la grandeza de tu misericordia, y como has perdonado a este pueblo desde Egipto hasta aquí.
20 And the Lord seide, Y haue foryouun to hem, bi thi word.
Entonces Jehová dijo: Yo lo he perdonado conforme a tu dicho.
21 Y lyue; and the glorie of the Lord schal be fillid in al erthe;
Mas ciertamente vivo yo, y mi gloria hinche toda la tierra,
22 netheles alle men that sien my mageste, and my signes, whiche Y dide in Egipt and in the wildirnesse, and temptiden me now bi ten sithis, and obeieden not to my vois,
Que todos los que vieron mi gloria, y mis señales que he hecho en Egipto y en el desierto, y me han tentado ya diez veces, y no han oído mi voz,
23 schulen not se the lond for which Y swore to her fadris, nethir ony of hem that bacbitide me, schal se it.
No verán la tierra de la cual juré a sus padres; y que ninguno de los que me han irritado, la verá.
24 Y schal lede my seruaunt Caleph, that was ful of anothir spirit, and suede me, in to this lond, which he cumpasside, and his seed schal welde it.
Mas mi siervo Caleb, por cuanto hubo otro espíritu en él, y cumplió de ir en pos de mí, yo le meteré en la tierra donde entró, y su simiente la recibirá en heredad:
25 For Amalech and Cananei dwellen in the valeis, to morewe moue ye tentis, and turne ye ayen in to wildirnesse bi the weie of the reed see.
Y aun al Amalecita, y al Cananeo que habitan en el valle. Volvéos mañana, y partíos al desierto camino del mar Bermejo.
26 And the Lord spak to Moises and to Aaron, and seide,
Ítem, Jehová habló a Moisés, y a Aarón, diciendo:
27 Hou long grutchith this werste multitude ayens me? Y haue herd the pleyntis of the sones of Israel.
¿Hasta cuándo oiré a esta mala congregación que murmura contra mí, las quejas de los hijos de Israel, que se quejan de mí?
28 Therfor seie thou to hem, Y lyue, seith the Lord; as ye spaken while Y herde, so Y schal do to you;
Díles: Vivo yo, dice Jehová, que como vosotros hablasteis a mis oídos, así haré yo con vosotros.
29 youre careyns schulen ligge in this wildirnesse. Alle ye that ben noumbrid, fro twenti yeer and aboue, and grutchiden ayens me,
En este desierto caerán vuestros cuerpos, y todos vuestros contados por toda vuestra cuenta de veinte años arriba, los que murmurasteis contra mí,
30 schulen not entre in to the lond, on which Y reiside myn hond, that Y schulde make you to dwelle outakun Caleph, the sone of Jephone, and Josue, the sone of Nun.
Que vosotros no entraréis en la tierra por la cual alcé mi mano de haceros habitar en ella, sacando a Caleb hijo de Jefone, y a Josué hijo de Nun.
31 Forsothe Y schal lede in youre litle children, of whiche ye seiden that thei schulden be preyes `ethir raueyns to enemyes, that thei se the lond which displeside you.
Y vuestros chiquitos, de los cuales dijisteis: Por presa serán, yo los meteré, y ellos sabrán la tierra que vosotros despreciasteis.
32 Forsothe youre careyns schulen ligge in the wildirnesse;
Y vuestros cuerpos, vosotros, en este desierto caerán.
33 youre sones schulen be walkeris aboute in the deseert bi fourti yeer, and thei schulen bere youre fornycacioun, til the careyns of the fadris ben wastid in the deseert,
Mas vuestros hijos serán pastores en este desierto cuarenta años, y ellos llevarán vuestras fornicaciones, hasta que vuestros cuerpos sean consumidos en el desierto:
34 by the noumbre of fourti daies, in whiche ye bihelden the loond; a yeer schal be arettid for a dai, and bi fourti yeer ye schulen resseyue youre wickidnesse, and ye schulen knowe my veniaunce.
Conforme al número de los días en que reconocisteis la tierra, cuarenta días, día por año, día por año, llevaréis vuestras iniquidades cuarenta años, y conoceréis mi castigo.
35 For as Y spak, so Y schal do to al this werste multitude, that roos to gidere ayens me; it schal faile, and schal die in this wildirnesse.
Yo Jehová he hablado: Si esto no hiciere a toda esta congregación mala, que se ha juntado contra mí: en este desierto serán consumidos, y ahí morirán.
36 Therfor alle the men whyche Moises hadde sent to see the lond, and whiche turniden ayen, and maden al the multitude to grutche ayens hym, and depraueden the lond, that it was yuel,
Y los varones que Moisés envió a reconocer la tierra, y vueltos habían hecho murmurar contra él a toda la congregación infamando la tierra:
37 weren deed, and smytun in the siyt of the Lord.
Aquellos varones, que habían infamado la tierra, murieron de plaga delante de Jehová:
38 Sotheli Josue, the sone of Nun, and Caleph, the sone of Jephone, lyueden, of alle men that yeden to se the lond.
Mas Josué hijo de Nun, y Caleb hijo de Jefone, vivieron, de aquellos hombres que habían ido a reconocer la tierra.
39 And Moises spak alle these wordis to alle the sones of Israel, and the puple mourenyde gretli.
Y Moisés dijo estas cosas, a todos los hijos de Israel, y el pueblo se enlutó mucho.
40 And, lo! thei riseden in the morewtid first, and `stieden in to the cop of the hil, and seiden, We ben redi to stie to the place, of which the Lord spak, for we synneden.
Y levantáronse por la mañana, y subieron a la cumbre del monte, diciendo: Hénos aquí aparejados para subir al lugar del cual ha hablado Jehová, por cuanto hemos pecado.
41 To whiche Moises seide, Whi passen ye the word of the Lord, that schal not bifalle to you in to prosperite?
Y dijo Moisés: ¿Por qué quebrantáis el dicho de Jehová? Esto tampoco os sucederá bien.
42 Nyle ye stie, for the Lord is not with you, lest ye fallen bifor youre enemyes.
No subáis, porque Jehová no está en medio de vosotros, no seáis heridos delante de vuestros enemigos.
43 Amalech and Cananei ben bifor you, bi the swerd of whiche ye schulen falle, for ye nolden assente to the Lord, nether the Lord schal be with you.
Porque el Amalecita, y el Cananeo están allí delante de vosotros, y caeréis a cuchillo; porque por cuanto os habéis tornado de seguir a Jehová, y Jehová no será con vosotros.
44 And thei weren maad derk, and stieden in to the cop of the hil; forsothe the ark of the testament of the Lord and Moises yeden not awey fro the tentis.
Y forzáronse a subir en la cumbre del monte, mas el arca del concierto de Jehová, y Moisés no se quitaron de en medio del campo.
45 And Amalech cam doun, and Chananei, that dwelliden in the hil, and he smoot hem, and kittide doun, and pursuede hem til Horma.
Y descendió el Amalecita, y el Cananeo que habitaban en el monte, e hiriéronlos, y deshiciéronlos, hasta Jorma.
