Numbers 13
1 And there the Lord spak to Moises,
১তখন সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে বললেন,
2 and seide, Sende thou men that schulen biholde the lond of Canaan, which Y schal yyue to the sones of Israel, of ech lynage o man of the princes.
২“আমি ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের যে কনান দেশ দেব, তুমি সেটা পরীক্ষা করার জন্য কয়েক জন ব্যক্তিকে পাঠাও। তাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের প্রত্যেক বংশের মধ্যে থেকে একজন করে লোক পাঠাও। প্রত্যেক ব্যক্তি তাদের মধ্যে শাসনকর্ত্তা হবে।”
3 Moises dide that that the Lord comaundide, and sente fro the deseert of Pharan princes, men of whiche these ben the names.
৩সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ অনুসারে মোশি পারণ মরুভূমি থেকে তাদেরকে পাঠালেন। তাঁরা সবাই ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের শাসনকর্ত্তা ছিলেন।
4 Of the lynage of Ruben, Semmya, the sone of Zectur.
৪তাদের নাম হল: রূবেণ বংশের মধ্যে সক্কূরের ছেলে শম্মূয়;
5 Of the lynage of Symeon, Saphat, the sone of Hury.
৫শিমিয়োন বংশের মধ্যে হোরির ছেলে শাফট;
6 Of the lynage of Juda, Caleph, the sone of Jephone.
৬যিহূদা বংশের মধ্যে যিফুন্নির ছেলে কালেব;
7 Of the lynage of Isachar, Igal, the sone of Joseph.
৭ইষাখর বংশের মধ্যে যোষেফের ছেলে যিগাল;
8 Of the lynage of Effraym, Osee, the sone of Nun.
৮ইফ্রয়িম বংশের মধ্যে নূনের ছেলে হোশেয়;
9 Of the lynage of Beniamyn, Phalti, the sone of Raphu.
৯বিন্যামীন বংশের মধ্যে রাফূর ছেলে পল্টি;
10 Of the lynage of Zabulon, Gediel, the sone of Sodi.
১০সবূলূন বংশের মধ্যে সোদির ছেলে গদ্দীয়েল;
11 Of the lynage of Joseph, of the gouernaunce of Manasses, Gaddi, the sone of Susy.
১১যোষেফ বংশের অর্থাৎ মনঃশি বংশের মধ্যে সূষির ছেলে গদ্দি;
12 Of the lynage of Dan, Amyel, the sone of Gemalli.
১২দান বংশের মধ্যে গমল্লির ছেলে অম্মীয়েল;
13 Of the lynage of Aser, Sur, the sone of Mychael.
১৩আশের বংশের মধ্যে মীখায়েলের ছেলে সথুর;
14 Of the lynage of Neptalym, Nabdi, the sone of Napsi.
১৪নপ্তালি বংশের মধ্যে বপ্সির ছেলে নহ্বি;
15 Of the lynage of Gad, Guel, the sone of Machi.
১৫গাদ বংশের মধ্যে মাখির ছেলে গ্যূয়েল।
16 These ben the names of men, which Moises sente to biholde the lond of Canaan; and he clepide Osee, the sone of Nun, Josue.
১৬মোশি যাদেরকে দেশ পরীক্ষা করতে পাঠালেন, এইগুলি সেই লোকেদের নাম। আর মোশি নূনের ছেলে হোশেয়ের নাম যিহোশূয় রাখলেন।
17 Therfor Moises sente hem to biholde the lond of Canaan, and seide to hem, `Stie ye bi the south coost; and whanne ye comen to the hillis,
১৭কনান দেশ পরীক্ষা করতে পাঠাবার দিনের মোশি তাদেরকে বললেন, নেগেভ থেকে চলে যাও এবং পাহাড়ী অঞ্চলে গিয়ে ওঠ।
18 biholde ye the lond, what maner lond it is; and biholde ye the puple which is the dwellere therof, whether it is strong, ethir feble, `whether thei ben fewe in noumbre, ether manye;
১৮গিয়ে দেখ, সে দেশ কেমন ও সেখানে বসবাসকারী লোকেরা বলবান কি দুর্বল, অল্প কি অনেক
19 whether that lond is good, ethir yuel; what maner citees ben, wallid, ether without wallis;
১৯এবং তারা যে দেশে বাস করে সে দেশ কেমন, ভাল কি মন্দ? যে সব শহরে বাস করে, সেগুলি কি রকম? তারা কি শিবির পছন্দ করে নাকি শক্তিশালী শহর?
20 whether the lond is fat, ether bareyn, `whether it is ful of woodis, ethir without trees. Be ye coumfortid, and `brynge ye to vs of the fruytis of that lond. Sotheli the tyme was, whanne grapis first ripe myyten be etun thanne.
২০সেখানকার জমি কেমন দেখ, ফসল চাষের জন্য উর্বর কিনা এবং সেখানে গাছ আছে কি না। আর তোমরা সাহসী হও এবং সেই দেশের কিছু ফল সঙ্গে করে এনো। তখন প্রথম আঙ্গুর পাকার দিন ছিল।
21 And whanne thei hadden stied, thei aspieden the lond, fro the deseert of Syn `til to Rohob, as men entryth to Emath.
২১তাঁরা যাত্রা করে সীন মরুভূমি থেকে লেব-হমাতের কাছে রহোব পর্যন্ত সমস্ত দেশ পরীক্ষা করলেন।
22 And thei stieden to the south, and camen in to Ebron, where Achyman, and Sisai, and Tholmai, the sones of Enach, weren; for Hebron was maad bi seuen yeer bifor Thamnys, the citee of Egipt.
২২তাঁরা নেগেভ থেকে চলে গিয়ে হিব্রোণে উপস্থিত হলেন। সেখানে অহীমান, শেশয় ও তল্ময়, অনাকের এই তিন সন্তান ছিল। মিশরের সোয়নের গড়ে উঠার সাত বছর আগে হিব্রোণ গড়ে ওঠে।
23 And thei yeden til to the stronde of clustre, and kittiden doun a sioun with his grape, which twei men baren in a barre; also thei token of pumgarnadis, and of the figis of that place which is clepid Nehelescol,
২৩যখন তাঁরা ইষ্কোল উপত্যকাতে পৌঁছালেন, তাঁরা সেখানে এক গোছা আঙ্গুরের একটি শাখা কাটলেন। তাঁরা সেটা একটি লাঠিতে করে দুজন বহন করলেন। তাঁরা কতকগুলি ডালিম ও ডুমুরফলও সঙ্গে করে আনলেন।

২৪ইস্রায়েল সন্তানেরা ঐখানে সেই আঙ্গুরের গোছা কেটেছিলেন, তাই সেই উপত্যকা ইষ্কোল [থলুয়া] নামে পরিচিত হল।

২৫তাঁরা দেশ পরীক্ষা করে চল্লিশ দিনের র পর ফিরে আসলেন।
26 and to al the cumpany of the sones of Israel, in to the deseert of Pharan which is in Cades. And `the aspieris spaken to hem, and schewiden the fruytis of the lond to al the multitude, and telden,
২৬পরে তাঁরা এসে পারণ মরুপ্রান্তের কাদেশ নামক স্থানে মোশির ও হারোণের এবং ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের সমস্ত মণ্ডলীর কাছে উপস্থিত হয়ে তাদেরকে ও সমস্ত মণ্ডলীকে সংবাদ দিলেন এবং সেই দেশের ফল তাদেরকে দেখালেন।
27 and seiden, We camen to the lond, to which thou sentest vs, which lond treuli flowith with mylk and hony, as it may be knowun bi these fruytis;
২৭তাঁরা মোশিকে বললেন, “আপনি আমাদেরকে যে দেশে পাঠিয়ে ছিলেন, আমরা সেখানে গিয়েছিলাম; দেশটিতে সত্যিই দুধ ও মধু প্রবাহিত হয়; আর এই দেখুন, তার ফল।
28 but it hath strongeste inhabiteris, and grete cytees, and wallid; we sien there the kynrede of Anachym; Amalech dwellith in the south;
২৮যাই হোক, সেখানকার লোকেরা যারা তাদের বাড়ি তৈরী করে, তারা বলবান ও সেখানকার শহরগুলি দেওয়ালে ঘেরা ও খুব বড়। সেখানে আমরা অনাকের সন্তানদেরকেও দেখেছি।
29 Ethei, and Jebusei, and Amorey dwellen in the hilli placis; forsothe Cananey dwellith bisidis the see, and bisidis the floodis of Jordan.
২৯নেগেভে অমালেকরা বাস করে। পাহাড়ী অঞ্চলে হিত্তীয়, যিবূষীয় ও ইমোরীয়েরা বাস করে। মহা সমুদ্রের কাছে ও যর্দ্দনের তীরে কনানীয়েরা বাস করে।”
30 Among thes thingis Caleph peeside the grutchyng of the puple, that was maad ayens Moises, and seide, `Stie we, and welde we the lond, for we moun gete it.
৩০তখন কালেব মোশির সাক্ষাৎে লোকদেরকে উত্সাহ করার জন্য বললেন, “এস, আমরা একেবারে উঠে গিয়ে দেশ অধিকার করি; কারণ আমরা সেটা জয় করতে সমর্থ।”
31 Forsothe other aspieris, that weren with hym, seiden, We moun not stie to this puple, for it is strongere than we.
৩১কিন্তু যে ব্যক্তিরা তাঁর সঙ্গে গিয়েছিলেন, তাঁরা বললেন, “আমরা সেই লোকদের বিরুদ্ধে যেতে সমর্থ নই, কারণ আমাদের থেকে তারা বলবান।”
32 And thei deprauyden the lond which thei hadden biholde, anentis the sones of Israel, and seiden, The lond which we cumpassiden deuourith hise dwelleris; the puple which we bihelden is of large stature; there we syen summe wondris ayens kynde,
৩২এই ভাবে তারা যে দেশ পরীক্ষা করতে গিয়েছিলেন, ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের সাক্ষাৎে সেই দেশের সম্মন্ধে নিরুত্সাহ করে বললেন, “আমরা যে দেশ পরীক্ষা করতে স্থানে স্থানে গিয়েছিলাম, সে দেশ তার অধিবাসীদেরকে গ্রাস করে এবং তার মধ্যে আমরা যত লোককে দেখেছি, তারা সবাই অনেক বেশি উচ্চতার।
33 of the sones of Enach, of the kynde of geauntis, to whiche we weren comparisound, and weren seien as locustis.
৩৩সেখানে আমরা নেফিলিমকে দেখলাম-অনাকের সন্তান নেফিলিমের থেকে এসেছে। তাদেরকে দেখে আমরা নিজেদের চোখে ফড়িঙ্গের মত এবং তাদের চোখেও সেই রকম হলাম।”
