Numbers 11
1 Yn the meene tyme the grutchyng of the puple, as of men sorewynge for trauel, roos ayens the Lord. And whanne Moises hadde herd this thing, he was wrooth; and the fier of the Lord was kyndelid on hem, and deuouride the laste part of the tentis.
Και εγόγγυζεν ο λαός πονηρά εις τα ώτα του Κυρίου· και ο Κύριος ήκουσε και εξήφθη η οργή αυτού· και εξεκαύθη μεταξύ αυτών πυρ Κυρίου και κατέφαγε το άκρον του στρατοπέδου.
2 And whanne the puple hadde cried to Moises, Moises preiede the Lord, and the fier was quenchid.
Και εβόησεν ο λαός προς τον Μωϋσήν· και ο Μωϋσής προσηυχήθη προς τον Κύριον και έπαυσε το πυρ.
3 And he clepid the name of that place Brennyng, for the fier of the Lord was kyndlid ayens hem.
Και εκαλέσθη το όνομα του τόπου εκείνου Ταβερά, διότι εξεκαύθη μεταξύ αυτών πυρ Κυρίου.
4 And the comyn puple of `malis and femalis, that hadde stied with hem, brent with desire of fleischis, and sat, and wepte with the sones of Israel ioyned togidere to hem, and seide, Who schal yyue to vs fleischis to ete?
Και το σύμμικτον πλήθος το μεταξύ αυτών, επεθύμησαν επιθυμίαν· και έκλαιον πάλιν και οι υιοί Ισραήλ, και είπαν, Τις θέλει δώσει εις ημάς κρέας να φάγωμεν;
5 We thenken on the fischis whiche we eten in Egipt freli; gourdis, and melouns, and lekis, and oyniouns, and garlekis comen in to mynde `to vs;
ενθυμούμεθα τα οψάρια, τα οποία ετρώγομεν εν Αιγύπτω δωρεάν, τα αγγούρια και τα πεπόνια και τα πράσα και τα κρόμμυα και τα σκόρδα·
6 oure soule is drie; oure iyen byholden noon other thing `no but manna.
τώρα δε η ψυχή ημών είναι κατάξηρος· δεν είναι εις τους οφθαλμούς ημών ουδέν άλλο παρά τούτο το μάννα.
7 Forsothe manna was as the seed of coriaundre, of the colour of bdellyum, which is whijt and briyt as cristal.
Το δε μάννα ήτο ως ο σπόρος του κοριάνδρου, και το χρώμα αυτού ως το χρώμα του βδελλίου.
8 And the puple yede aboute, and gaderide it, and brak with a queerne stoon, ether pownede in a morter, and sethide in a pot; and made therof litle cakis of the sauour, as of breed maad with oile.
Ο λαός περιεφέρετο συνάγων αυτό, και ήλεθον εις μύλον ή εκοπάνιζον αυτό εις ιγδίον και έψηνον αυτό εις χύτραν και έκαμνον εγκρυφίας εξ αυτού· και η γεύσις αυτού ήτο ως γεύσις λαγάνου εξ ελαίου.
9 And whanne dew cam doun in the niyt on the tentis, also manna cam doun togidere.
Και ότε κατέβαινεν η δρόσος εις το στρατόπεδον την νύκτα, έπιπτε το μάννα επ' αυτής.
10 Therfor Moises herde the puple wepynge bi meynees, and `alle bi hem silf bi the doris of her tentis; and the woodnesse of the Lord was wrooth greetli, but also the thing was seyn vnsuffrable to Moises.
Και ήκουσεν ο Μωϋσής τον λαόν κλαίοντα κατά τας συγγενείας αυτών, έκαστον εις την θύραν της σκηνής αυτού· και εξήφθη η οργή του Κυρίου σφόδρα· εφάνη δε τούτο κακόν και εις τον Μωϋσήν.
11 And he seide to the Lord, Whi hast thou turmentid thi seruaunt? whi fynde Y not grace bifor thee? and whi hast thou put on me the burthun of al this puple?
Και είπεν ο Μωϋσής προς τον Κύριον, Διά τι εταλαιπώρησας τον δούλον σου; και διά τι δεν εύρηκα χάριν ενώπιόν σου, ώστε έβαλες επ' εμέ το φορτίον όλον του λαού τούτου;
12 whethir Y conseyuede al this multitude, ethir gendride it, that thou seie to me, Bere thou hem in thi bosum as a nurise is wont to bere a litil yong child, and bere thou in to the lond for which thou hast swore to the fadris `of hem.
μήπως εγώ συνέλαβον όλον τον λαόν τούτον; ή εγώ εγέννησα αυτούς, διά να μοι λέγης, Λάβε αυτόν εις τον κόλπον σου, καθώς βαστάζει η τροφός το θηλάζον βρέφος, εις την γην την οποίαν ώμοσας προς τους πατέρας αυτών;
13 wherof ben fleischis to me, that Y `yyue to so greet multitude? Thei wepen bifore me, and seyn, `Yyue thou fleischis to vs that we ete;
πόθεν εις εμέ κρέατα να δώσω εις όλον τον λαόν τούτον; διότι κλαίουσι προς εμέ, λέγοντες, Δος εις ημάς κρέας να φάγωμεν·
14 I mai not aloone suffre al this puple, for it is greuouse to me.
δεν δύναμαι εγώ μόνος να βαστάσω όλον τον λαόν τούτον, διότι είναι πολύ βαρύ εις εμέ·
15 If in other maner it semeth to thee, Y biseche that thou sle me, and that Y fynde grace in thin iyen, that Y be not punyschid bi so grete yuelis.
και αν κάμνης ούτως εις εμέ, θανάτωσόν με ευθύς, δέομαι, εάν εύρηκα χάριν ενώπιόν σου, διά να μη βλέπω την δυστυχίαν μου.
16 And the Lord seide to Moises, Gadere thou to me seuenti men of the eldre men of Israel, whiche thou knowist, `that thei ben the elde men and maistris of the puple; and thou schalt lede hem to the dore of the tabernacle of boond of pees, and thou schalt make to stonde there with thee,
Και είπε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν, Σύναξον εις εμέ εβδομήκοντα άνδρας εκ των πρεσβυτέρων του Ισραήλ, τους οποίους γνωρίζεις ότι είναι πρεσβύτεροι του λαού και άρχοντες αυτών· και φέρε αυτούς εις την σκηνήν του μαρτυρίου, όπου θέλουσι σταθή μετά σου.
17 that Y come doun, and speke to thee; and Y schal take awey of thi spirit, and Y schal yyue to hem, that thei susteyne with thee the birthun of the puple, and not thou aloone be greuyd.
Και θέλω καταβή και λαλήσει εκεί μετά σού· και θέλω λάβει από του πνεύματος του επί σε και θέλω επιθέσει επ' αυτούς· και θέλουσι βαστάζει το φορτίον του λαού μετά σου, διά να μη βαστάζης αυτό συ μόνος.
18 And thou schalt seie to the puple, Be ye halewid; to morew ye schulen ete fleischis; for Y herde you seie, Who schal yyue to vs the metis of fleischis? it was wel to vs in Egipt; that the Lord yyue `fleischis to you,
Και ειπέ προς τον λαόν, Αγιάσατε εαυτούς διά την αύριον, και θέλετε φάγει κρέας· διότι εκλαύσατε εις τα ώτα του Κυρίου λέγοντες, Τις θέλει δώσει εις ημάς κρέας να φάγωμεν; διότι καλά ήμεθα εν Αιγύπτω. Διά τούτο θέλει σας δώσει κρέας ο Κύριος, και θέλετε φάγει·
19 and that ye ete not o dai, ethir tweyne, ethir fyue, ethir ten, sotheli nether twenti,
δεν θέλετε φάγει μίαν ημέραν ούτε δύο ημέρας ούτε πέντε ημέρας ούτε δέκα ημέρας, ούτε είκοσι ημέρας·
20 but `til to a monethe of daies, til it go out bi youre nosethirlis, and turne in to wlatyng; for ye han put awei the Lord, which is in the myddis of you, and ye wepten bifor hym, and seiden, Whi yeden we out of Egipt?
ολόκληρον μήνα θέλετε φάγει, εωσού εξέλθη εκ των μυκτήρων σας και γείνη εις εσάς αηδία· διότι ηπειθήσατε εις τον Κύριον, όστις είναι μεταξύ σας, και εκλαύσατε ενώπιον αυτού, λέγοντες, Διά τι να αναχωρήσωμεν από της Αιγύπτου;
21 And Moises seide to the Lord, Sixe hundrid thousynde of foot men ben of this puple, and thou seist, Y schal yyue to hem `mete of fleischis an hool monethe.
Και είπεν ο Μωϋσής, Εξακόσιαι χιλιάδες πεζών είναι ο λαός, εν μέσω των οποίων εγώ είμαι και συ είπας, Θέλω δώσει εις αυτούς κρέας, διά να φάγωσιν ολόκληρον μήνα.
22 Whether the multitude of scheep and of oxun schal be slayn, that it may suffice to mete, ethir alle the fischis of the see schulen be gaderid to gidere, that tho fille hem?
Θέλουσι σφαχθή δι' αυτούς τα ποίμνια και αι αγέλαι, διά να εξαρκέσωσιν εις αυτούς; ή θέλουσι συναχθή ομού πάντα τα οψάρια της θαλάσσης δι' αυτούς, διά να εξαρκέσωσιν εις αυτούς;
23 To whom the Lord answeride, Whether the `hond of the Lord is vnmyyti? riyt now thou schalt se, wher my word schal be fillid in werk.
Και είπε Κύριος προς τον Μωϋσήν, Μήπως η χειρ του Κυρίου εσμικρύνθη; τώρα θέλεις ιδεί αν εκτελήται ο λόγος μου, ή ουχί.
24 Therfor Moises cam, and telde to the puple the wordis of the Lord; and he gaderide seuenti men of the eldere of Israel, whiche he made stonde aboute the tabernacle.
Και εξήλθεν ο Μωϋσής και είπε προς τον λαόν τους λόγους του Κυρίου· και συνήγαγε τους εβδομήκοντα άνδρας εκ των πρεσβυτέρων του λαού και έστησεν αυτούς κύκλω της σκηνής.
25 And the Lord cam doun bi a cloude, and spak to Moises, and took a weye of the spirit that was in Moises, and yaf to the seuenti men; and whanne the spirit hadde restid in hem, thei profesieden, and ceessiden not `aftirward.
Και κατέβη Κύριος εν νεφέλη και ελάλησε προς αυτόν, και έλαβεν από του πνεύματος του επ' αυτόν και επέθηκεν επί τους εβδομήκοντα άνδρας τους πρεσβυτέρους· και αφού εκάθησεν επ' αυτούς το πνεύμα, επροφήτευσαν αλλά δεν εξηκολούθησαν.
26 Forsothe twei men dwelliden stille in the tentis, of whiche men oon was clepid Heldad, and the tothir Medad, on whiche the spirit restide; for also thei weren descryued, and thei yeden not out to the tabernacle.
Έμειναν όμως δύο άνδρες εν τω στρατοπέδω, το όνομα του ενός Ελδάδ και το όνομα του δευτέρου Μηδάδ· και εκάθησεν επ' αυτούς το πνεύμα· και ούτοι ήσαν εκ των καταγεγραμμένων, δεν εξήλθον όμως εις την σκηνήν· και επροφήτευον εν τω στρατοπέδω.
27 And whanne thei profesieden in the tentis, a child ran, and teld to Moises, and seide, Heldad and Medad profecien in the tentis.
Και έδραμε νεανίσκος τις και ανήγγειλε προς τον Μωϋσήν λέγων, Ο Ελδάδ και ο Μηδάδ προφητεύουσιν εν τω στρατοπέδω.
28 Anoon Josue, the sone of Nun, the `mynystre of Moises, and chosun of manye, seide, My lord Moises, forbede thou hem.
Και Ιησούς ο υιός του Ναυή, ο θεράπων του Μωϋσέως, ο εκλεκτός αυτού, απεκρίθη και είπε, Κύριέ μου Μωϋσή, εμπόδισον αυτούς.
29 And he seide, What hast thou enuye for me? who yyueth that al the puple profesie, and that God yyue his spirit to hem?
Και είπε προς αυτόν ο Μωϋσής, Ζηλοτυπείς υπέρ εμού; είθε πας ο λαός του Κυρίου να ήσαν προφήται, και ο Κύριος να επέθετεν επ' αυτούς το πνεύμα αυτού
30 And Moises turnede ayen, and the eldre men in birthe of Israel in to the tentis.
Και ανεχώρησεν ο Μωϋσής εις το στρατόπεδον, αυτός και οι πρεσβύτεροι του Ισραήλ.
31 Forsothe a wynde yede forth fro the Lord, and took curlewis, and bar ouer the see, and lefte in to the tentis, in the iurney, as myche as mai be parformed in o day, bi ech part of the tentis bi cumpas; and tho flowen in the eir bi twei cubitis in `hiynesse ouer the erthe.
Και εξήλθεν άνεμος παρά Κυρίου και έφερεν ορτύκια από της θαλάσσης και έρριψεν αυτά επί το στρατόπεδον, έως μιας ημέρας οδόν εντεύθεν και έως μιας ημέρας οδόν εντεύθεν, κύκλω του στρατοπέδου· και ήσαν έως δύο πήχας επί το πρόσωπον της γης.
32 Therfor the puple roos in al that dai and nyyt and in to the tothir dai, and gaderide the multitude of curlewis; he that gaderide litil, gaderide ten `mesuris clepid chorus; `and o chorus conteyneth ten buschels; and thei drieden tho curlewis bi the cumpas of the tentis.
Και σηκωθείς ο λαός όλην εκείνην την ημέραν και όλην την νύκτα και όλην την ακόλουθον ημέραν, εσύναξαν τα ορτύκια· ο συνάξας το ολιγώτερον, εσύναξε δέκα χομόρ· και εξήπλονον αυτά κύκλω του στρατοπέδου δι' εαυτούς.
33 Yit `fleischis weren in the teeth `of hem, and siche mete failide not; and lo! the woodnesse of the Lord was reisid ayens the puple, and smoot it with a ful greet veniaunce.
Ενώ δε το κρέας ήτο έτι εις τους οδόντας αυτών, πριν μασσηθή, εξήφθη η οργή του Κυρίου επί τον λαόν· και επάταξε Κύριος τον λαόν εν πληγή μεγάλη σφόδρα.
34 And thilke place was clepid The sepulcris of coueitise, for there thei birieden the puple that desiride fleischis.
Και εκάλεσε το όνομα του τόπου εκείνου Κιβρώθ-αττααβά, διότι εκεί ετάφη ο λαός ο επιθυμητής.
35 Sotheli thei yeden `out of the sepulcris of coueitise, and camen in to Asseroth, and dwelliden there.
Και ανεχώρησεν ο λαός από Κιβρώθ-αττααβά εις Ασηρώθ και έμεινεν εν Ασηρώθ.
