Nahum 2
1 He stiede up, that schal scatere bifore thee, that schal kepe bisechyng; biholde thou the weie, coumforte leendis, strengthe thou vertu greetli.
Táhneť zhoubce na tebe, ostříhejž pevnosti, vyhlídej na cestu, posilň bedr, dobře se silou opatř.
2 For as the Lord yeldide the pride of Jacob, so the pride of Israel; for distrieris scateriden hem, and distrieden the generaciouns of hem.
Neboť jest odjal Hospodin pýchu Jákobovu jako pýchu Izraelovu, proto že vyprázdnili je zhoubcové, a réví jejich pokazili.
3 The scheld of stronge men of hym ben firi, men of the oost ben in rede clothis; raynes of fire of chare, in the dai of his makyng redi; and the leederis therof ben asleep.
Pavéza udatných jeho červená, bojovníci červcem odění, vozové jako pochodně hořící jiskřiti budou v den mustruňku jeho, a jedle hrozně třásti se budou.

Po ulicích jezditi budou vozové, a hrčeti po ryncích; na pohledění budou jako pochodně, a jako blesk pronikati budou.

Sšikuje nejznamenitější své, klesnou v šiku svém, pospíší ke zdem jeho, a skryše připravována bude.

Brány při řekách se otevrou, chrám se rozplyne.

A Hutsab zajata jsuc, zavedena bude, a děvečky její poberou se, lkajíce jako holubice, a tepouce prsy své.

A ačkoli jako rybník vod bylo Ninive od začátku svého, však již sami utíkají. Stůjte, stůjte a však žádný se neohlédne.

Rozchvátejtež stříbro, rozchvácejte zlato a nesčíslná zboží, a cožkoli nejvzácnějšího na všelikých klénotích drahých.
10 It is distried, and kit, and to-rent, and herte failynge, and vnknyttinge of smale knees, and failynge in alle reynes; and the face of alle ben as blacnesse of a pot.
Prázdné a vyprázdněné, nýbrž docela zpuštěné bude, a srdce se rozplyne, a tlučení kolen vespolek i bolest na všech bedrách bude, a tváře všech zčernají jako hrnec.
11 Where is the dwellyng of liouns, and lesewis of whelpis of liouns? To whiche citee the lioun yede, that the whelp of the lioun schulde entre thidur, and there is not that schal make aferd.
Kdež jest peleš lvů a to pastviště lvíčat, kamž chodíval lev, lev i lvíče, a nebylo žádného, kdo by přestrašil.
12 The lioun took ynow to hise whelpis, and slowy to his lionessis; and fillide her dennes with prei, and his couche with raueyn.
Lev, kterýž hojně lovíval mladým svým, a dávíval lvicím svým, kterýž naplňoval loupeží jeskyně své, a peleše své tím, což nahonil?
13 Lo! Y to thee, seith the Lord God of oostis; and Y schal brenne thi cartis of foure horsis til to the hiyeste, and swerd schal ete thi smale liouns; and Y schal distrie thi prei fro the lond, and the vois of thi messangeris schulen no more be herd.
Aj, já proti tobě, praví Hospodin zástupů, a popálím na prach vozy tvé, a lvíčata tvá sžíře meč; i vypléním z země loupež tvou, a nebude slyšán více hlas poslů tvých.
