Matthew 9
1 And Jhesus wente vp in to a boot, and passide ouer the watir, and cam in to his citee.
Wtedy wsiadł do łodzi, przeprawił się [na drugi brzeg] i przybył do swego miasta.
2 And lo! thei brouyten to hym a man sike in palesie, liggynge in a bed. And Jhesus saw the feith of hem, and seide to the man sike in palesye, Sone, haue thou trist; thi synnes ben foryouun to thee.
A oto przynieśli mu sparaliżowanego, leżącego na posłaniu. Jezus, widząc ich wiarę, powiedział do sparaliżowanego: Ufaj, synu! Twoje grzechy są ci przebaczone.
3 And lo! summe of the scribis seiden withynne hem silf, This blasfemeth.
A niektórzy z uczonych w Piśmie pomyśleli sobie: On bluźni.
4 And whanne Jhesus hadde seyn her thouytis, he seide, Wherto thenken ye yuele thingis in youre hertis?
Lecz Jezus, znając ich myśli, powiedział: Dlaczego myślicie złe rzeczy w swoich sercach?
5 What is liytere to seye, Thi synnes ben foryouun to thee, ethir `to seie, Rise thou, and walke?
Cóż bowiem jest łatwiej powiedzieć: Przebaczone są twoje grzechy, czy powiedzieć: Wstań i chodź?
6 But that ye wite that mannus sone hath power to foryyue synnes in erthe, thanne he seide to the sijk man in palesie, Rise vp; take thi bed, and go in to thin hous.
Ale abyście wiedzieli, że Syn Człowieczy ma na ziemi moc przebaczać grzechy – wtedy powiedział do sparaliżowanego: Wstań, weź swoje posłanie i idź do domu.
7 And he roos, and wente in to his hous.
A on wstał i poszedł do swego domu.
8 And the puple seynge dredde, and glorifiede God, that yaf suche power to men.

9 And whanne Jhesus passide fro thennus, he say a man, Matheu bi name, sittynge in a tolbothe. And he seide to hym, Sue thou me.
A odchodząc stamtąd, Jezus zobaczył człowieka zwanego Mateuszem, siedzącego w punkcie celnym. I powiedział do niego: Pójdź za mną. A on wstał i poszedł za nim.
10 And he roos, and folewide hym. And it was don, the while he sat `at the mete in the hous, lo! many pupplicans and synful men camen, and saten `at the mete with Jhesu and hise disciplis.
Gdy Jezus siedział za stołem w [jego] domu, przyszło wielu celników i grzeszników i usiedli z Jezusem oraz jego uczniami.
11 And Farisees sien, and seiden to hise disciplis, Whi etith youre maister with pupplicans and synful men?
Widząc to, faryzeusze zapytali jego uczniów: Dlaczego wasz nauczyciel je z celnikami i grzesznikami?
12 And Jhesus herde, and seide, A leche is not nedeful to men that faren wel, but to men that ben yuel at ese.
A gdy Jezus [to] usłyszał, powiedział im: Nie zdrowi, lecz chorzy potrzebują lekarza.
13 But go ye, and lerne what it is, Y wole merci, and not sacrifice; for I cam, not to clepe riytful men, but synful men.
Idźcie więc i nauczcie się, co [to] znaczy: Miłosierdzia chcę, a nie ofiary. Bo nie przyszedłem wzywać do pokuty sprawiedliwych, ale grzeszników.
14 Thanne the disciplis of Joon camen to hym, and seiden, Whi we and Farisees fasten ofte, but thi disciplis fasten not?
Wtedy przyszli do niego uczniowie Jana i zapytali: Dlaczego my i faryzeusze często pościmy, a twoi uczniowie nie poszczą?
15 And Jhesus seide to hem, Whether the sones of the spouse moun morne, as long as the spouse is with hem? But daies schulen come, whanne the spouse schal be takun a wei fro hem, and thanne thei schulen faste.
I powiedział im Jezus: Czy przyjaciele oblubieńca mogą się smucić, dopóki jest z nimi oblubieniec? Ale przyjdą dni, gdy oblubieniec zostanie od nich zabrany, i wtedy będą pościć.
16 And no man putteth a clout of buystous clothe in to an elde clothing; for it doith awey the fulnesse of the cloth, and a wers breking is maad.

17 Nethir men putten newe wyne in to elde botelis, ellis the botels ben to-broke, and distried, and the wyn sched out. But men putten newe wyne in to newe botels, and bothe ben kept.
Ani nie wlewa się młodego wina do starych bukłaków, bo inaczej bukłaki pękają, a wino wycieka i bukłaki się psują. Ale młode wino wlewa się do nowych bukłaków, a wtedy zachowuje się jedno i drugie.
18 Whiles that Jhesus spak thes thingis to hem, lo! a prince cam, and worschipide hym, and seide, Lord, my douyter is now deed; but come thou, and putte thin hond on hir, and she schal lyue.
Gdy to do nich mówił, pewien przełożony synagogi przyszedł, oddał mu pokłon i powiedział: Moja córka dopiero co umarła, ale przyjdź i połóż na nią rękę, a ożyje.
19 And Jhesus roos, and `hise disciplis, and sueden hym.
Wtedy Jezus wstał i wraz ze swoimi uczniami poszedł za nim.
20 And lo! a womman, that hadde the blodi flux twelue yere, neiyede bihynde, and touchide the hem of his cloth.
I oto kobieta, która od dwunastu lat cierpiała na krwotok, podeszła z tyłu i dotknęła brzegu jego szaty.
21 For sche seide with ynne hir self, Yif Y touche oonli the cloth of hym, Y schal be saaf.
Mówiła bowiem sobie: Jeśli tylko dotknę jego szaty, będę uzdrowiona.
22 And Jhesus turnede, and say hir, and seide, Douytir, haue thou trist; thi feith hath maad thee saaf. And the womman was hool fro that our.
Ale Jezus odwrócił się i ujrzawszy ją, powiedział: Ufaj, córko! Twoja wiara cię uzdrowiła. I od tej chwili kobieta była zdrowa.
23 And whanne Jhesus cam in to the hous of the prince, and say mynstrallis, and the puple makynge noise,
A gdy Jezus przyszedł do domu przełożonego i zobaczył flecistów i ludzi czyniących zgiełk;
24 he seide, Go ye a wei, for the damysel is not deed, but slepith. And thei scornyden hym.
Powiedział im: Odejdźcie, bo dziewczynka nie umarła, tylko śpi. I naśmiewali się z niego.
25 And whanne the folc was put out, he wente in, and helde hir hond; and the damysel roos.
Ale gdy wygnano tych ludzi, wszedł, ujął ją za rękę i dziewczynka wstała.
26 And this fame wente out in to al that loond.
I wieść o tym rozeszła się po całej [tamtejszej] ziemi.
27 And whanne Jhesus passide fro thennus, twei blynde men criynge sueden hym, and seiden, Thou sone of Dauid, haue merci on vs.
A gdy Jezus odchodził stamtąd, szli za nim dwaj ślepi i wołali: Synu Dawida, zmiłuj się nad nami!
28 And whanne he cam in to the hous, the blynde men camen to hym; and Jhesus seide to hem, What wolen ye, that I do to you? And thei seiden, Lord, that oure iyen be opened. And Jhesus seide, Bileuen ye, that Y mai do this thing to you? Thei seien to him, Yhe, Lord.
Gdy zaś wszedł do domu, przyszli do niego ślepi. I zapytał ich Jezus: Wierzycie, że mogę to uczynić? Odpowiedzieli mu: Tak, Panie.
29 Thanne he touchide her iyen, and seide, Aftir youre feith be it doon to you.
Wtedy dotknął ich oczu i powiedział: Według waszej wiary niech się wam stanie.
30 And the iyen of hem were opened. And Jhesus thretenede hem, and seide, Se ye, that no man wite.
I otworzyły się ich oczy, a Jezus przykazał im surowo: Uważajcie, aby nikt się [o tym] nie dowiedział.
31 But thei yeden out, and diffameden hym thorou al that lond.
Lecz oni, wyszedłszy, rozsławili go po całej tamtejszej ziemi.
32 And whanne thei weren gon out, loo! thei brouyten to hym a doumbe man, hauynge a deuel.
A gdy wychodzili, przyprowadzono do niego niemowę opętanego przez demona.
33 And whanne the deuel was cast out, the doumb man spak. And the puple wondride, and seide, It hath not be say thus in Israel.
Kiedy demon został wypędzony, niemy przemówił. A tłumy dziwiły się i mówiły: Nigdy czegoś takiego nie widziano w Izraelu.
34 But the Farisees seiden, In the prince of deuelis he castith out deuelis.
Lecz faryzeusze mówili: Przez władcę demonów wypędza demony.
35 And Jhesus wente `aboute alle the `citees and castels, techinge in the synagogis of hem, and prechynge the gospel of the kyngdom, and helynge euery langour and euery sijknesse.
I obchodził Jezus wszystkie miasta i wioski, nauczając w ich synagogach i głosząc ewangelię królestwa, uzdrawiając wszystkie choroby i wszelkie słabości wśród ludzi.
36 And he siy the puple, and hadde reuthe on hem; for thei weren trauelid, and liggynge as scheep not hauynge a scheepherde.
A widząc [tłumy] ludzi, użalił się nad nimi, bo byli utrudzeni i rozproszeni jak owce niemające pasterza.
37 Thanne he seide to hise disciplis, Sotheli there is myche ripe corn, but fewe werk men.
Wtedy powiedział do swoich uczniów: Żniwo wprawdzie wielkie, ale robotników mało.
38 Therfor preye ye the lord of the ripe corn, that he sende werke men in to his ripe corn.
Proście więc Pana żniwa, aby wysłał robotników na swoje żniwo.
