< Matthew 5 >
1 And Jhesus, seynge the puple, wente vp in to an hil; and whanne he was set, hise disciplis camen to hym.
Pea ʻi heʻene mamata ki he kakai tokolahi, naʻe ʻalu hake ia ki he moʻunga: pea kuo nofo hifo ia, pea haʻu ʻene kau ākonga kiate ia:
2 And he openyde his mouth, and tauyte hem, and seide,
Pea lea ia, ʻo ne akonaki kiate kinautolu, ʻo pehē,
3 Blessed ben pore men in spirit, for the kyngdom of heuenes is herne.
“ʻOku monūʻia ʻae angavaivai: he ʻoku ʻonautolu ʻae puleʻanga ʻoe langi.
4 Blessid ben mylde men, for thei schulen welde the erthe.
“ʻOku monūʻia ʻakinautolu ʻoku tangi: he te nau maʻu ʻae fiemālie.
5 Blessid ben thei that mornen, for thei schulen be coumfortid.
“ʻOku monūʻia ʻae angamalū: he te nau maʻu ʻae fonua.
6 Blessid ben thei that hungren and thristen riytwisnesse, for thei schulen be fulfillid.
“ʻOku monūʻia ʻakinautolu ʻoku fiekaia mo fieinua ki he māʻoniʻoni: he te nau fonu ai.
7 Blessid ben merciful men, for thei schulen gete merci.
“ʻOku monūʻia ʻae manavaʻofa: he te nau maʻu ʻae ʻofa.
8 Blessid ben thei that ben of clene herte, for thei schulen se God.
“ʻOku monūʻia ʻae loto maʻa: he te nau mamata ki he ʻOtua.
9 Blessid ben pesible men, for thei schulen be clepid Goddis children.
“ʻOku monūʻia ʻae faʻa fakalelei: ʻe ui ai ʻakinautolu ko e fānau ʻae ʻOtua.
10 Blessid ben thei that suffren persecusioun for riytfulnesse, for the kingdam of heuenes is herne.
“ʻOku monūʻia ʻakinautolu kuo fakatangaʻi koeʻuhi ko e māʻoniʻoni: he ʻoku ʻonautolu ʻae puleʻanga ʻoe langi.
11 `Ye schulen be blessid, whanne men schulen curse you, and schulen pursue you, and shulen seie al yuel ayens you liynge, for me.
“ʻOku monūʻia ʻakimoutolu, ʻoka manukia, mo fakatangaʻi, mo lohiekina ʻakimoutolu ʻi he meʻa kovi kotoa pē, koeʻuhi ko au.
12 Ioie ye, and be ye glad, for youre meede is plenteuouse in heuenes; for so thei han pursued `also profetis that weren bifor you.
Mou fiemālie ʻo fiefia lahi ʻaupito: he ʻoku lahi hoʻomou totongi ʻi he langi: he naʻe pehē ʻenau fakatangaʻi ʻae kau palōfita naʻe muʻa ʻiate kimoutolu.
13 Ye ben salt of the erthe; that if the salt vanysche awey, whereynne schal it be saltid? To no thing it is worth ouere, no but that it be cast out, and be defoulid of men.
“Ko e māsima ʻo māmani ʻakimoutolu: pea kapau kuo mole ʻi he māsima hono kona, ʻe toe fakakonaʻi fēfeeʻi ia? Ngata ai, ʻoku ʻikai ʻaonga ia, ka ke lī ki tuaʻā, pea ke molomoloki ia ʻe he kakai.
14 Ye ben liyt of the world; a citee set on an hil may not be hid;
“Ko e maama ʻo māmani ʻakimoutolu. Ko e kolo ʻoku tuʻu ʻi ha moʻunga, ʻoku ʻikai faʻa fakapuli ia.
15 ne me teendith not a lanterne, and puttith it vndur a busschel, but on a candilstike, that it yyue liyt to alle that ben in the hous.
Pea ʻoku ʻikai tutu ha maama, mo tuku ia ʻi he lalo puha fua, ka ki he tuʻunga maama; pea ʻoku ulo ia kiate kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi he fale.
16 So schyne youre liyt befor men, that thei se youre goode werkis, and glorifie youre fadir that is in heuenes.
Tuku ke ulo pehē hoʻomou maama ʻi he ʻao ʻoe kakai, koeʻuhi ke nau mamata ki hoʻomou ngaahi ngāue lelei, pea fakamālōʻia ʻa hoʻomou Tamai ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he langi.
17 Nil ye deme, that Y cam to vndo the lawe, or the profetis; Y cam not to vndo the lawe, but to fulfille.
“ʻOua naʻa mou mahalo kuo u haʻu ke fakataʻeʻaongaʻi ʻae fono, pe ko e kau palōfita: naʻe ʻikai te u haʻu ke fakataʻeʻaongaʻi, ka ke fakamoʻoni.
18 Forsothe Y seie to you, til heuene and erthe passe, o lettir or o titel shal not passe fro the lawe, til alle thingis be doon.
He ʻoku ou tala moʻoni kiate kimoutolu, ʻE tomuʻa mole ʻae langi mo e fonua ka ʻe ʻikai mole ha kihiʻi konga siʻi mei he fono, ka ʻe fakamoʻoni kotoa pē.
19 Therfor he that brekith oon of these leeste maundementis, and techith thus men, schal be clepid the leste in the rewme of heuenes; `but he that doith, and techith, schal be clepid greet in the kyngdom of heuenes.
Ko ia te ne liʻaki ha [fekau ]siʻi ʻi he ngaahi fekau ni, pea akonaki pehē ki he kakai, ʻe ui ia ko e siʻi hifo ʻi he puleʻanga ʻoe langi: ka ko ia te ne fai ia, mo akonaki ʻaki ia, ʻe ui ia ko e lahi ʻi he puleʻanga ʻoe langi.
20 And Y seie to you, that but your riytfulnesse be more plenteuouse than of scribis and of Farisees, ye schulen not entre into the kyngdom of heuenes.
He ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, Kapau ʻe ʻikai lahi hake hoʻomou māʻoniʻoni ʻi he [māʻoniʻoni ]ʻoe kau tangata tohi mo e Fālesi, ʻe ʻikai ʻaupito te mou hū ki he puleʻanga ʻoe langi.
21 Ye han herd that it was seid to elde men, Thou schalt not slee; and he that sleeth, schal be gilti to doom.
“Kuo mou fanongo naʻe pehē kiate kinautolu ʻi muʻa, ‘ʻOua naʻa ke fakapō; pea ko ia ʻe fakapō ʻe tuʻutāmaki ia ki he fakamaau.’
22 But Y seie to you, that ech man that is wrooth to his brothir, schal be gilti to doom; and he that seith to his brother, Fy! schal be gilti to the counseil; but he that seith, Fool, schal be gilti to the fier of helle. (Geenna )
Ka ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, Ko ia ʻe ʻita noa pē ki hono kāinga, ʻe tuʻutāmaki ia ki he fakamaau: pea ko ia te ne ui hono kāinga, ‘Ko e vale,’ ʻe tuʻutāmaki ia ki he fakamaau lahi: ka ko ia te ne lea pehē, ‘Ko e faha koe,’ ʻe tuʻutāmaki ia ki he afi ʻo heli. (Geenna )
23 Therfor if thou offrist thi yifte `at the auter, and ther thou bithenkist, that thi brothir hath sum what ayens thee,
Ko ia kapau ʻoku ke ʻomi hoʻo meʻa foaki ki he ʻesi feilaulau, pea ke toki manatuʻi ai ʻoku koviʻia ho kāinga kiate koe;
24 leeue there thi yifte bifor the auter, and go first to be recounselid to thi brothir, and thanne thou schalt come, and schalt offre thi yifte.
Tuku hoʻo meʻa foaki ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻesi feilaulau, pea ke ʻalu koe; ʻo tomuʻa fakalelei ki ho kāinga, pea ke toki haʻu, ʻo ʻoatu hoʻo meʻa foaki.
25 Be thou consentynge to thin aduersarie soone, while thou art in the weie with hym, lest perauenture thin aduersarie take thee to the domesman, and the domesman take thee to the mynystre, and thou be sent in to prisoun.
“Fakalelei vave mo ho fili, lolotonga hoʻomo kei ʻi he hala mo ia, telia naʻa tukuange koe ʻe ho fili ki he fakamaau, pea tuku koe ʻe he fakamaau ki he pule, pea ʻe tuku koe ki he fale fakapōpula.
26 Treuli Y seie to thee, thou shalt not go out fro thennus, til thou yelde the last ferthing.
Ko ʻeku tala moʻoni kiate koe, ʻE ʻikai ʻaupito te ke hao mei ai, kaeʻoua ke ke ʻoatu ʻae totongi kotoa pē.
27 Ye han herd that it was seid to elde men, Thou schalt `do no letcherie.
“Kuo mou fanongo naʻe pehē kiate kinautolu ʻi muʻa, ‘ʻOua naʻa ke tono fefine:’
28 But Y seie to you, that euery man that seeth a womman for to coueite hir, hath now do letcherie bi hir in his herte.
Ka ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, Ko ia ʻoku fakasio ki ha fefine ke holi ki ai, ʻoku tonoʻi ia ʻe ia ʻi hono loto.
29 That if thi riyt iye sclaundre thee, pulle hym out, and caste fro thee; for it spedith to thee, that oon of thi membris perische, than that al thi bodi go in to helle. (Geenna )
Pea kapau ʻoku fakahalaʻi koe ʻe ho mata toʻomataʻu, kapeʻi ia, ʻo liʻaki ia ʻiate koe: he ʻoku ʻaonga kiate koe ke ʻauha ho konga ʻe taha, kaeʻoua naʻa lī ho sino kotoa ki heli. (Geenna )
30 And if thi riyt hond sclaundre thee, kitte hym aweye, and caste fro thee; for it spedith to thee that oon of thi membris perische, than that al thi bodi go in to helle. (Geenna )
Pea kapau ʻe fakahalaʻi koe ʻe ho nima toʻomataʻu, tutuʻu ia, ʻo liʻaki ia ʻiate koe; he ʻoku ʻaonga kiate koe ke ʻauha ho konga ʻe taha, kaeʻoua naʻa lī ho sino kotoa ki heli. (Geenna )
31 And it hath be seyd, Who euere leeueth his wijf, yyue he to hir a libel of forsakyng.
“Naʻe tala, ʻo pehē, ‘Ko ia ʻoku tukuange hono uaifi, ke ne ʻoange kiate ia ʻae tohi māvae:’
32 But Y seie to you, that euery man that leeueth his wijf, outtakun cause of fornycacioun, makith hir to do letcherie, and he that weddith the forsakun wijf, doith auowtrye.
Ka ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, Ko ia ʻe tukuange hono uaifi, ka ʻi heʻene tono tangata, ʻoku ne fakatonotangataʻi ia: pea ko ia ʻe mali mo ia kuo fakamāvae, ko e tono fefine ia.
33 Eftsoone ye han herd, that it was seid to elde men, Thou schalt not forswere, but thou schalt yelde thin othis to the Lord.
“Kuo mou fanongo foki, naʻe pehē ʻiate kinautolu ʻi muʻa, ‘ʻOua naʻa ke fuakava loi, ka ke fai kia Sihova hoʻo fuakava:’
34 But Y seie to you, that ye swere not `for ony thing; nethir bi heuene, for it is the trone of God;
Ka ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, ʻoua te mou fuakava: pe ki he langi; he ko e ʻafioʻanga ia ʻoe ʻOtua:
35 nether bi the erthe, for it is the stole of his feet; nether bi Jerusalem, for it is the citee of a greet kyng; nether thou shalt not swere bi thin heed,
pe ki he fonua; he ko hono tuʻungavaʻe: pe ki Selūsalema; he ko e kolo ia ʻoe Tuʻi lahi.
36 for thou maist not make oon heere white, ne blacke;
Pea ʻoua naʻa ke fuakava ki ho ʻulu, he ʻoku ʻikai te ke faʻa ngaohi ha tuʻoni louʻulu ke hinehina pe ʻuliʻuli.
37 but be youre word, Yhe, yhe; Nay, nay; and that that is more than these, is of yuel.
Ka ʻi hoʻomou alea, ke ‘ʻIo’ pe hoʻomou ‘ʻIo;’ mo ‘ʻIkai’ pe hoʻomou ‘ʻIkai:’ he ko ia ʻoku fakalahi ʻaki ʻa eni, ʻoku tupu ʻi he kovi.
38 Ye han herd that it hath be seid, Iye for iye, and tothe for tothe.
“Kuo mou fanongo naʻe lea pehē, ‘[Ke totongi ]ʻaki ʻae mata ʻae mata, mo e nifo ʻae nifo:’
39 But Y seie to you, that ye ayenstonde not an yuel man; but if ony smyte thee in the riyt cheke, schewe to him also the tothir;
Ka ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, Ke ʻoua naʻa mou talia ha taha angakovi: ka ko ia te ne sipiʻi ho [kouʻahe ]toʻomataʻu, fulihi atu foki kiate ia ho kouʻahe ʻe taha.
40 and to hym that wole stryue with thee in doom, and take awey thi coote, leeue thou `to him also thi mantil;
Pea kapau ʻe loto ha taha ke fakamaau koe, ka ne maʻu ai ho kofutuʻa, tuku ke ne maʻu mo ho pulupulu foki.
41 and who euer constreyneth thee a thousynde pacis, go thou with hym othir tweyne.
Pea ko ia ʻe fakafiuʻi koe ke mo ō mo ia ʻi he maile ʻe taha, ʻalu mo ia [ʻi he maile ]ʻe ua.
42 Yyue thou to hym that axith of thee, and turne not awey fro hym that wole borewe of thee.
Foaki kiate ia ʻoku kole kiate koe, pea ʻoua naʻa fulituʻa kiate ia ʻoku fie nō meiate koe.
43 Ye han herd that it was seid, Thou shalt loue thi neiybore, and hate thin enemye.
“Kuo mou fanongo naʻe lea pehē, ‘Ke ke ʻofa ki ho kaungāʻapi, kae fehiʻa ki ho fili.’
44 But Y seie to you, loue ye youre enemyes, do ye wel to hem that hatiden you, and preye ye for hem that pursuen, and sclaundren you;
Ka ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, ʻOfa ki homou ngaahi fili, tāpuakiʻi ʻakinautolu ʻoku kapeʻi ʻakimoutolu, fai lelei kiate kinautolu ʻoku fehiʻa kiate kimoutolu, pea hūfia ʻakinautolu ʻoku fai kovi mo fakatanga kiate kimoutolu;
45 that ye be the sones of your fadir that is in heuenes, that makith his sunne to rise vpon goode `and yuele men, and reyneth on iust men and vniuste.
koeʻuhi ke mou taau mo e fānau ʻa hoʻomou Tamai ʻaia ʻoku ʻi he langi: he ʻoku ne pule ke hopo ʻene laʻā ki he angakovi mo e angalelei, pea ʻoku ne tuku ʻae ʻuha ki he angatonu mo e taʻeangatonu.
46 For if ye louen hem that louen you, what mede schulen ye han? whether pupplicans doon not this?
He kapau ʻoku mou ʻofa kiate kinautolu ʻoku ʻofa kiate kimoutolu, ko e hā ʻae totongi te mou maʻu? He ʻikai ʻoku fai pehē ʻae kau tānaki tukuhau?
47 And if ye greten youre britheren oonli, what schulen ye do more? ne doon not hethene men this?
Pea kapau ʻoku mou feʻofoʻofani mo homou kāinga pe, ʻoku lelei lahi hake ia? He ʻikai ʻoku pehē ʻae kau tānaki tukuhau?
48 Therfore be ye parfit, as youre heuenli fadir is parfit.
Ko ia ke haohaoa ʻakimoutolu he ʻoku haohaoa ʻa hoʻomou Tamai ʻoku ʻi he langi.
