Matthew 3
1 In tho daies Joon Baptist cam, and prechide in the desert of Judee,
௧அந்த நாட்களிலே யோவான்ஸ்நானன் யூதேயாவின் வனாந்திரத்தில் வந்து:
2 and seide, Do ye penaunce, for the kyngdom of heuenes shal neiye.
௨“மனந்திரும்புங்கள், பரலோகராஜ்யம் சமீபமாக இருக்கிறது” என்று பிரசங்கம் செய்தான்.
3 For this is he, of whom it is seid bi Ysaie, the prophete, seyinge, A vois of a crier in desert, Make ye redi the weies of the Lord; make ye riyt the pathis of hym.
௩கர்த்தருக்கு வழியை ஆயத்தப்படுத்துங்கள்; அவருக்குப் பாதைகளைச் செவ்வைபண்ணுங்கள்” என்று வனாந்திரத்திலே கூப்பிடுகிறவனுடைய சத்தம் உண்டென்று, ஏசாயா தீர்க்கதரிசியினால் சொல்லப்பட்டவன் இவனே.
4 And this Joon hadde clothing of camels heeris, and a girdil of skynne aboute hise leendis; and his mete was honysoukis, and hony of the wode.
௪இந்த யோவான் ஒட்டகமயிர் ஆடையை அணிந்து, தன் இடுப்பிலே வார்க்கச்சையைக் கட்டிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்; வெட்டுக்கிளியும் காட்டுத்தேனும் அவனுக்கு ஆகாரமாக இருந்தது.
5 Thanne Jerusalem wente out to hym, and al Judee, and al the cuntre aboute Jordan;
௫அப்பொழுது, எருசலேம் நகரத்தாரும், யூதேயாவில் உள்ள அனைவரும், யோர்தானுக்கு அடுத்த சுற்றுப்புறத்தார் அனைவரும் அவனிடத்திற்குப்போய்,
6 and thei weren waischun of hym in Jordan, `and knowlechiden her synnes.
௬தங்களுடைய பாவங்களை அறிக்கைசெய்து, யோர்தான் நதியில் அவனால் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்றார்கள்.
7 But he siy manye of the Farysees and of Saduceis comynge to his baptym, and seide to hem, Generaciouns of eddris, who shewide to you to fle fro the wraththe that is to come?
௭பரிசேயர்களிலும் சதுசேயர்களிலும் அநேகர் தன்னிடத்தில் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறும்படி வருகிறதை அவன் கண்டு: “விரியன்பாம்புக் குட்டிகளே! வருங்கோபத்திற்குத் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ள உங்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டினவன் யார்?
8 Therfor do ye worthi fruyte of penaunce,
௮மனந்திரும்புதலுக்கு ஏற்ற கனிகளைக் கொடுங்கள்.
9 and nyle ye seie with ynne you, We han Abraham to fadir; for Y seie to you, that God is myyti to reise vp of these stoones the sones of Abraham.
௯ஆபிரகாம் எங்களுக்குத் தகப்பன் என்று உங்களுக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொள்ள நினைக்காதிருங்கள்; தேவன் இந்தக் கல்லுகளினாலே ஆபிரகாமுக்குப் பிள்ளைகளை உண்டுபண்ண வல்லவராக இருக்கிறார் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
10 And now the ax is put to the roote of the tree; therfore euery tree that makith not good fruyt, shal be kit doun, and shal be cast in to the fier.
௧0இப்பொழுதே கோடரியானது மரங்களின் வேர் அருகே வைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; எனவே, நல்ல கனிகொடுக்காத மரங்களெல்லாம் வெட்டப்பட்டு நெருப்பிலே போடப்படும்.
11 Y waische you in water, in to penaunce; but he that shal come after me is strongere than Y, whos schoon Y am not worthi to bere; he shal baptise you in the Hooli Goost and fier.
௧௧மனந்திரும்புதலுக்கென்று நான் தண்ணீரினால் உங்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுக்கிறேன்; எனக்குப்பின்பு வருகிறவரோ என்னைவிட வல்லவராக இருக்கிறார், அவருடைய காலணிகளைச் சுமக்கிறதற்குக்கூட நான் தகுதியானவன் இல்லை; அவர் பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலும் அக்கினியினாலும் உங்களுக்கு ஞானஸ்நானம் கொடுப்பார்.
12 Whos wynewing cloth is in his hoond, and he shal fulli clense his corn flore, and shal gadere his whete in to his berne; but the chaffe he shal brenne with fier that mai not be quenchid.
௧௨தூற்றுக்கூடை அவருடைய கையில் இருக்கிறது; அவர் தமது களத்தை நன்றாக சுத்தம்செய்து, தமது கோதுமையைக் களஞ்சியத்தில் சேர்ப்பார்; பதரையோ அணையாத அக்கினியினால் சுட்டெரிப்பார்” என்றான்.
13 Thanne Jhesus cam fro Galilee in to Jordan to Joon, to be baptised of hym.
௧௩அப்பொழுது யோவானால் ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறுவதற்கு இயேசு கலிலேயாவைவிட்டு யோர்தானுக்கு அருகே அவனிடத்தில் வந்தார்.
14 And Joon forbede him, and seide, Y owe to be baptisid of thee, and thou comest to me?
௧௪யோவான் அவருக்குத் தடைசெய்து: நான் உம்மாலே ஞானஸ்நானம் பெறவேண்டியதாயிருக்க, நீர் என்னிடத்தில் வரலாமா என்றான்.
15 But Jhesus answeride, and seide to hym, Suffre nowe, for thus it fallith to vs to fulfille al riytfulnesse.
௧௫இயேசு அவனுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: இப்பொழுது இதற்கு சம்மதி, இப்படி எல்லா நீதியையும் நிறைவேற்றுவது நமக்கு ஏற்றதாக இருக்கிறது என்றார். அப்பொழுது அவருக்கு சம்மதித்தான்.
16 Thanne Joon suffride hym. And whanne Jhesus was baptisid, anoon he wente up fro the watir; and lo! heuenes weren openyd to hym, and he saie the Spirit of God comynge doun as a dowue, and comynge on hym; and loo!
௧௬இயேசு ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்று, தண்ணீரிலிருந்து கரையேறின உடனே, இதோ, வானம் அவருக்குத் திறக்கப்பட்டது; தேவ ஆவியானவர் புறாவைப்போல இறங்கி, தம்மேல் வருகிறதைக் கண்டார்.
17 a vois fro heuenes, seiynge, This is my louyd sone, in which Y haue plesid to me.
௧௭அன்றியும், வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு சத்தம் உண்டாகி: இவர் என்னுடைய நேசகுமாரன், இவரில் பிரியமாக இருக்கிறேன் என்று உரைத்தது.
