Matthew 19
1 And it was don, whanne Jhesus hadde endid these wordis, he passide fro Galilee, and cam in to the coostis of Judee ouer Jordan.
Cuando Jesús terminó de hablar se fue de Galilea y se dirigió a la región de Judea, al otro lado del Jordán.
2 And myche puple suede him, and he heelide hem there.
Grandes multitudes le seguían, y él sanaba a los que allí estaban enfermos.
3 And Farisees camen to him, temptynge him, and seiden, Whether it be leueful to a man to leeue his wijf, for ony cause?
Entonces ciertos fariseos vinieron para probarlo. “¿Se le permite a un hombre divorciarse de su esposa por cualquier razón?” le preguntaron.
4 Which answeride, and seide to hem, Han ye not red, for he that made men at the bigynnyng, made hem male and female?
Jesús respondió: “¿No han leído que Dios, quien creó a las personas en el principio, los creó hombre y mujer?
5 And he seide, For this thing a man schal leeue fadir and modir, and he schal draw to his wijf; and thei schulen be tweyne in o fleisch.
Entonces dijo: ‘Esta es la razón por la cual el hombre se irá de donde su padre y su madre y se unirá a su esposa, y entonces los dos se convertirán en uno’.
6 And so thei ben not now tweyne, but o fleisch. Therfor a man departe not that thing that God hath ioyned.
Ahora no son dos, sino uno. Lo que Dios ha unido, nadie debe separarlo”.
7 Thei seien to hym, What thanne comaundide Moises, to yyue a libel of forsakyng, and to leeue of?
“¿Entonces por qué Moisés entregó una ley que dice que un hombre puede divorciarse de su esposa entregándole un certificado de divorcio escrito y despidiéndola?” le preguntaron.
8 And he seide to hem, For Moises, for the hardnesse of youre herte, suffride you leeue youre wyues; but fro the bigynnyng it was not so.
“Por la actitud insensible de ustedes, Moisés les permitió divorciarse de sus esposas, pero no era así al comienzo”, respondió Jesús.
9 And Y seie to you, that who euer leeueth his wijf, but for fornycacioun, and weddith another, doith letcherie; and he that weddith the forsakun wijf, doith letcherie.
“Les digo que cualquiera que se divorcia de su esposa – a menos que sea por inmoralidad sexual –, y luego se casa con otra mujer, comete adulterio”.
10 His disciplis seien to him, If the cause of a man with a wijf is so, it spedith not to be weddid.
“¡Si esa es la situación entre el esposo y la esposa, es mejor no casarse!” respondieron sus discípulos.
11 And he seide to hem, Not alle men taken this word; but to whiche it is youun.
“No cualquiera puede aceptar esta instrucción, solo aquellos a quienes se les da”, les dijo Jesús.
12 For ther ben geldingis, whiche ben thus born of the modris wombe; and ther ben geldyngis, that ben maad of men; and there ben geldyngis, that han geldid hem silf, for the kyngdom of heuenes. He that may take, `take he.
“Algunos nacen siendo eunucos, algunos se vuelven eunucos por causa de otros hombres, y otros deciden ser eunucos por causa del reino de los cielos. Los que aceptan hacerlo, deben aceptar tal enseñanza”.
13 Thanne litle children weren brouyte to hym, that he schulde putte hondis to hem, and preie.
Entonces la gente traía niños pequeños delante de él para que los bendijera y orara por ellos. Pero los discípulos les decían que no lo hicieran.
14 And the disciplis blamyden hem. But Jhesus seide to hem, Suffre ye that litle children come to me, and nyle ye forbede hem; for of siche is the kyngdom of heuenes.
Pero Jesús dijo: “Dejen que los niños vengan a mi. No se lo impidan. ¡El reino de los cielos pertenece a quienes son como ellos!”
15 And whanne he hadde put to hem hondis, he wente fro thennus.
Entonces él puso sus manos sobre ellos para bendecirlos y luego se fue.
16 And lo! oon cam, and seide to hym, Good maister, what good schal Y do, that Y haue euerlastynge lijf? (aiōnios g166)
Un hombre vino a Jesús y le dijo: “Maestro, ¿qué cosas buenas debo hacer para recibir vida eterna?” (aiōnios g166)
17 Which seith to hym, What axist thou me of good thing? There is o good God. But if thou wolt entre to lijf, kepe the comaundementis.
“¿Por qué me preguntas a mi lo que es bueno?” respondió Jesús. “Solo hay uno que es bueno. Pero si quieres tener vida eterna, entonces guarda los mandamientos”.
18 He seith to hym, Whiche? And Jhesus seide, Thou schalt not do mansleying, thou schalt not do auowtrie, thou schalt not do thefte, thou schalt not seie fals witnessying;
“¿Cuáles?” preguntó el hombre. “No mates, no cometas adulterio, no robes, no des falso testimonio,
19 worschipe thi fadir and thi modir, and, thou schalt loue thi neiybore as thi silf.
honra a tu padre y a tu madre, y ama a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”, respondió Jesús.
20 The yonge man seith to hym, Y haue kept alle these thingis fro my youthe, what yit failith to me?
“Yo he guardado todos estos mandamientos”, dijo el joven. “¿Qué más debo hacer?”
21 Jhesus seith to hym, If thou wolt be perfite, go, and sille alle thingis that thou hast, and yyue to pore men, and thou schalt haue tresoure in heuene; and come, and sue me.
Jesús le dijo: “Si quieres ser perfecto, entonces ve y vende todas tus posesiones, da el dinero a los pobres, y tendrás tesoro en el cielo. Entonces ven y sígueme”.
22 And whanne the yong man hadde herd these wordis, he wente awei sorewful, for he hadde many possessiouns.
Cuando el joven escuchó la respuesta de Jesús, se fue muy triste, porque tenía muchas posesiones.
23 And Jhesus seide to hise disciplis, Y seie to you treuthe, for a riche man of hard schal entre in to the kyngdom of heuenes.
“Les digo la verdad”, dijo Jesús a sus discípulos, “a la gente rica se le hace difícil entrar al reino de los cielos.
24 And eftsoone Y seie to you, it is liyter a camel to passe thorou a needlis iye, thanne a riche man to entre in to the kyngdom of heuens.
También les digo esto: es más fácil que un camello pase a través del ojo de una aguja que un rico entre al reino de los cielos”.
25 Whanne these thingis weren herd, the disciplis wondriden greetli, and seiden, Who thanne may be saaf?
Cuando los discípulos oyeron esto, se sorprendieron, y preguntaron: “¿Quién puede salvarse entonces?”
26 Jhesus bihelde, and seide to hem, Anentis men this thing is impossible; but anentis God alle thingis ben possible.
Jesús los miró y dijo: “Desde un punto de vista humano, es imposible, pero con Dios todas las cosas son posibles”.
27 Thanne Petre answeride, and seide to hym, Lo! we han forsake alle thingis, and we han suede thee; what thanne schal be to vs?
Pedro le respondió: “Mira, hemos dejado todo y te hemos seguido. ¿Qué recompensa tendremos?”
28 Jhesus seide to hem, Truli I seie to you, that ye that han forsake alle thingis, and han sued me, in the regeneracioun whanne mannus sone schal sitte in the sete of his maieste, ye schulen sitte on twelue setis, demynge the twelue kynredis of Israel.
Jesús respondió: “Les digo la verdad: cuando todo sea hecho de nuevo y el Hijo del hombre se siente en su trono glorioso, ustedes que me han seguido también se sentarán en tronos, y serán jueces de las doce tribus de Israel.
29 And euery man that forsakith hous, britheren or sistren, fadir or modir, wijf ethir children, or feeldis, for my name, he schal take an hundrid foold, and schal welde euerlastynge lijf. (aiōnios g166)
Todos los que dejan su hogar, a sus hermanos, a sus hermanas, a sus padres, a sus madres, a sus hijos y sus campos por mi causa, recibirán cien veces más y recibirán la vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
30 But manye schulen be, the firste the laste, and the laste the firste.
Porque muchos que son los primeros serán dejados de ultimo, y muchos que son los últimos, serán los primeros.
