Matthew 16
1 And the Farisees and the Saducees camen to hym temptynge, and preieden hym to schewe hem a tokene fro heuene.
E, chegando-se os fariseus e os saduceus, e tentando-o, pediram-lhe que lhes mostrasse algum sinal do céu.
2 And he answeride, and seide to hem, Whanne the euentid is comun, ye seien, It schal be clere, for heuene is rodi;
Mas ele, respondendo, disse-lhes: Quando é chegada a tarde, dizeis: Haverá bom tempo, porque o céu está rubro.
3 and the morewtid, To dai tempest, for heuene schyneth heueli.
E pela manhã: Hoje haverá tempestade, porque o céu está de um vermelho sombrio. hipócritas, sabeis diferenciar a face do céu, e não sabeis diferenciar os sinais dos tempos?
4 Thanne ye kunne deme the face of heuene, but ye moun not wite the tokenes of tymes. An yuel generacioun and auoutresse sekith a tokene; and a tokene schal not be youun to it, but the tokene of Jonas, the profete. And whanne he hadde left hem, he wente forth.
Uma geração má e adúltera pede um sinal, e nenhum sinal lhe será dado, senão o sinal do profeta Jonas. E, deixando-os, retirou-se.
5 And whanne his disciplis camen ouer the see, thei foryaten to take looues.
E, passando seus discípulos para a outra banda, tinham-se esquecido de fornecer-se de pão.
6 And he seide to hem, Biholde ye, and be war of the soure dowy of Farisees and Saducees.
E Jesus disse-lhes: Adverti, e acautelai-vos do fermento dos fariseus e saduceus.
7 And thei thouyten among hem, and seiden, For we han not take looues.
E eles arrazoavam entre si, dizendo: É porque não nos fornecemos de pão.
8 But Jhesus witynge seide to hem, What thenken ye among you of litel feith, for ye han not looues?
E Jesus, conhecendo-o, disse: Porque arrazoais entre vós, homens de pouca fé, sobre o não vos terdes fornecido de pão?
9 Yit `vndurstonden not ye, nether han mynde of fyue looues in to fyue thousynde of men, and hou many cofyns ye token?
Não compreendeis ainda, nem vos lembrais dos cinco pães para cinco mil homens, e de quantas alcofas levantastes?
10 nether of seuene looues in to foure thousynde of men, and hou many lepis ye token?
Nem dos sete pães para quatro mil, e de quantos cestos levantastes?
11 Whi vndurstonden ye not, for Y seide not to you of breed, Be ye war of the sourdowy of Farisees and of Saducees?
Como não entendestes que não vos falei a respeito do pão, mas que vos guardasseis do fermento dos fariseus e saduceus?
12 Thanne thei vndurstooden, that he seide not to be war of sourdowy of looues, but of the techyng of Farisees and Saducees.
Então compreenderam que não dissera que se guardassem do fermento do pão, mas da doutrina dos fariseus.
13 And Jhesus cam in to the parties of Cesarie of Filip, and axide hise disciplis, and seide, Whom seien men to be mannus sone?
E, chegando Jesus às partes de Cesareia de Filipo, interrogou os seus discípulos, dizendo: Quem dizem os homens ser o Filho do homem?
14 And thei seiden, Summe Joon Baptist; othere Elie; and othere Jeremye, or oon of the prophetis.
E eles disseram: Uns João Batista, outros Elias, e outros Jeremias ou um dos profetas.
15 Jhesus seide to hem, But whom seien ye me to be?
Disse-lhes ele: E vós, quem dizeis que eu sou?
16 Symount Petre answeride, and seide, Thou art Crist, the sone of God lyuynge.
E Simão Pedro, respondendo, disse: Tu és o Cristo, o Filho de Deus vivo.
17 Jhesus answeride, and seide to him, Blessid art thou, Symount Bariona; for fleisch and blood schewide not to thee, but my fadir that is in heuenes.
E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhe: bem-aventurado és tu, Simão Barjonas, porque to não revelou a carne e o sangue, mas meu Pai, que está nos céus.
18 And Y seie to thee, that thou art Petre, and on this stoon Y schal bilde my chirche, and the yatis of helle schulen not haue miyt ayens it. (Hadēs g86)
E também eu te digo que tu és Pedro, e sobre esta pedra edificarei a minha igreja, e as portas do inferno não prevalecerão contra ela: (Hadēs g86)
19 And to thee Y shal yyue the keies of the kingdom of heuenes; and what euer thou shalt bynde on erthe, schal be boundun also in heuenes; and what euer thou schalt vnbynde on erthe, schal be vnbounden also in heuenes.
E eu te darei as chaves do reino dos céus; e tudo o que ligares na terra será ligado nos céus, e tudo o que desligares na terra será desligado nos céus.
20 Thanne he comaundide to hise disciplis, that thei schulden seie to no man, that he was Crist.
Então mandou aos seus discípulos que a ninguém dissessem que ele era Jesus o Cristo.
21 Fro that tyme Jhesus bigan to schewe to hise disciplis, that it bihofte hym go to Jerusalem, and suffre many thingis, of the eldere men, and of scribis, and princis of prestis; and be slayn, and the thridde dai to rise ayen.
Desde então começou Jesus a mostrar aos seus discípulos que convinha ir a Jerusalém, e padecer muito dos anciãos, e dos principais dos sacerdotes, e dos escribas, e ser morto, e resuscitar ao terceiro dia.
22 And Petre took hym, and bigan to blame him, and seide, Fer be it fro thee, Lord; this thing schal not be to thee.
E Pedro, tomando-o de parte, começou a repreende-lo, dizendo: Senhor, tem compaixão de ti; de modo nenhum te aconteça isso.
23 And he turnede, and seide to Petre, Sathanas, go after me; thou art a sclaundre to me; for thou sauerist not tho thingis that ben of God, but tho thingis that ben of men.
Ele, porém, voltando-se, disse a Pedro: Arreda-te de diante de mim, Satanás, que me serves de escândalo; porque não compreendes as coisas que são de Deus, mas só as que são dos homens.
24 Thanne Jhesus seide to his disciplis, If ony man wole come after me, denye he hym silf, and take his cros, and sue me; for he that wole make his lijf saaf,
Então disse Jesus aos seus discípulos: Se alguém quizer vir após mim, renuncie-se a si mesmo, tome sobre si a sua cruz, e siga-me;
25 shal leese it; and he that schal leese his lijf for me, schal fynde it.
Porque aquele que quizer salvar a sua vida, perde-la-á, e quem perder a sua vida por amor de mim, acha-la-á.
26 For what profitith it to a man, if he wynne al the world, and suffre peiryng of his soule? or what chaunging schal a man yyue for his soule?
Pois que aproveita ao homem, se ganhar o mundo inteiro, e perder a sua alma? ou que dará o homem em recompensa da sua alma?
27 For mannes sone schal come in glorie of his fader, with his aungels, and thanne he schal yelde to ech man after his werkis.
Porque o Filho do homem virá na glória de seu Pai, com os seus anjos; e então dará a cada um segundo as suas obras.
28 Treuli Y seie to you, `ther ben summe of hem that stonden here, whiche schulen not taste deth, til thei seen mannus sone comynge in his kyngdom.
Em verdade vos digo que alguns há, dos que aqui estão, que não gostarão a morte até que vejam vir o Filho do homem no seu reino.
