Matthew 11
1 And it was doon, whanne Jhesus hadde endid, he comaundide to hise twelue disciplis, and passide fro thennus to teche and preche in the citees of hem.
Pea kuo fakaʻosi ʻe Sisu ʻene akonaki ki heʻene kau ākonga ʻe toko hongofulu ma toko ua, naʻe ʻalu ia mei ai ke akonaki mo malanga ʻi honau ngaahi kolo.
2 But whanne Joon in boondis hadde herd the werkis of Crist, he sente tweyne of hise disciplis,
Pea kuo fanongo ʻa Sione ʻi he fale fakapōpula ki he ngaahi ngāue ʻa Kalaisi, pea fekau atu ʻe ia ʻene ākonga ʻe toko ua,
3 and seide to him, `Art thou he that schal come, or we abiden another?
ʻO na pehē kiate ia, “Ko koe ia naʻe pehē ʻe haʻu, pe te tau ʻamanaki ki ha taha?”
4 And Jhesus answeride, and seide `to hem, Go ye, and telle ayen to Joon tho thingis that ye han herd and seyn.
Pea pehēange ʻe Sisu kiate kinaua, “Mo ō, ʻo fakahā kia Sione ʻae ngaahi meʻa ʻoku mo fanongo, mo mamata ki ai:
5 Blynde men seen, crokid men goon, meselis ben maad clene, deefe men heren, deed men rysen ayen, pore men ben takun to `prechyng of the gospel.
ʻOku ʻā ʻae kui, ʻoku ʻeveʻeva ʻae pipiki, ʻoku maʻa ʻae kilia, pea ongo ʻae tuli, pea fokotuʻu ʻae mate, pea ʻoku malangaʻaki ʻae ongoongolelei ki he kakai masiva.
6 And he is blessid, that shal not be sclaundrid in me.
Pea ʻoku monūʻia ia, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai tūkia, ʻiate au.”
7 And whanne thei weren goon awei, Jhesus bigan to seie of Joon to the puple, What thing wenten ye out in to desert to se? a reed wawed with the wynd?
Pea kuo na ō, pea lea ʻa Sisu ki he kakai ʻia Sione, “Naʻa mou ʻalu ki he toafa ke mamata ki he hā? Ha vaʻa kaho ʻoku luluʻi ʻe he matangi?
8 Or what thing wenten ye out to see? a man clothid with softe clothis? Lo! thei that ben clothid with softe clothis ben in the housis of kyngis.
Ka naʻa mou ʻalu atu ke mamata ki he hā? Ha tangata ʻoku kofuʻaki ʻae kofu molū? Vakai, ko kinautolu ʻoku kofu molū ʻoku nau ʻi he fale ʻoe ngaahi tuʻi.
9 But what thing wenten ye out to se? a prophete? Yhe, Y seie to you, and more than a prophete.
Ka naʻa mou ʻalu atu ke mamata ki he hā? Ha palōfita? ʻIo, pea ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, ʻoku lahi hake ia ʻi he palōfita.
10 For this is he, of whom it is writun, Lo! Y sende myn aungel bifor thi face, that shal make redi thi weye bifor thee.
He ko eni ia kuo tohi ki ai, ‘Vakai, ʻoku ou fekau atu ʻeku talafekau ke muʻomuʻa ʻiate koe, ʻaia te ne teuteu ho hala ʻi ho ʻao.’
11 Treuli Y seie to you, ther roos noon more than Joon Baptist among the children of wymmen; but he that is lesse in the kyngdom of heuenes, is more than he.
Ko ʻeku tala moʻoni atu kiate kimoutolu, ʻOku ʻikai tupu ha tokotaha lahi hake ʻia Sione ko e Papitaiso ʻiate kinautolu kuo fanauʻi ʻe he fefine: ka ko ia ʻoku siʻi taha pe ʻi he puleʻanga ʻoe langi ʻoku lahi ia ʻiate ia.
12 And fro the daies of Joon Baptist til now the kyngdom of heuenes suffrith violence, and violent men rauyschen it.
Pea talu mei he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo Sione ko e Papitaiso ʻo aʻu ki he ʻaho ni, ʻoku fai mālohi ki he puleʻanga ʻoe langi, pea ʻoku lavaʻi fakamālohi ia ʻe he kau mālohi.
13 For alle prophetis and the lawe `til to Joon prophecieden; and if ye wolen resseyue,
He naʻe akonaki ʻae kau palōfita kotoa pē mo e fono ʻo hoko mo Sione.
14 he is Elie that is to come.
Pea kapau ʻoku mou faʻa maʻu ia, ko ʻIlaisiā eni, ʻaia naʻe pehē ʻe haʻu.
15 He that hath eris of heryng, here he.
Ko ia ʻoku ai ʻae telinga ke ongo, ke ongoʻi ia.
16 But to whom schal Y gesse this generacioun lijk? It is lijk to children sittynge in chepyng, that crien to her peeris,
“Ka te u fakatatau ʻae toʻutangata ni ki he hā? ʻOku tatau ia mo e tamaiki ʻoku nofo ʻi he potu fakatau, ʻoku nau ui ki honau niʻihi,
17 and seien, We han songun to you, and ye han not daunsid; we han morned to you, and ye han not weilid.
ʻO pehē, ‘Naʻa mau ifi fangufangu kiate kimoutolu, pea ʻikai te mou meʻe; naʻa mau [hiva ]fakatangi kiate kimoutolu, kae ʻikai te mou tangi.’
18 For Joon cam nether etynge ne drynkynge, and thei seien, He hath a deuel.
He naʻe ʻikai haʻu ʻa Sione ʻo kai mo inu, pea nau pehē, ‘ʻOku ʻiate ia ha tēvolo.’
19 The sone of man cam etynge and drynkynge, and thei seien, Lo! a man a glotoun, and a drinkere of wijne, and a freend of pupplicans and of synful men. And wisdom is iustified of her sones.
Ka kuo haʻu ʻae Foha ʻoe tangata ʻo kai mo inu, pea nau pehē, ‘Vakai, ko e tangata faʻa kai, mo faʻa inu uaine, ko e kāinga ʻoe kau tānaki tukuhau mo e angahala.’ Ka ʻoku fakatonuhia ʻae poto ʻe heʻene fānau.”
20 Thanne Jhesus bigan to seye repreef to citees, in whiche ful manye vertues of him weren doon, for thei diden not penaunce.
Pea toki kamata valoki ʻe ia ki he ngaahi kolo naʻe fai lahi ai ʻene ngaahi ngāue mana, koeʻuhi ko ʻenau taʻefakatomala:
21 Wo to thee! Corosaym, woo to thee! Bethsaida; for if the vertues that ben doon in you hadden be doon in Tyre and Sidon, sumtyme thei hadden don penaunce in heyre and aische.
“ʻE malaʻia ʻa koe, Kolesini! ʻE malaʻia ʻa koe, Peteseta! He ka ne fai ʻi Taia mo Saitone ʻae ngaahi ngāue lahi, ʻaia kuo fai ʻiate kimoutolu, pehē, kuo loa ʻenau fakatomala ʻi he tauangaʻa mo e efuefu.
22 Netheles Y seie to you, it schal be lesse peyne to Tire and Sidon in the dai of doom, than to you.
Ka ʻoku ou tala atu kiate kimoutolu, ʻe kātakingofua ʻa Taia mo Saitone ʻi he ʻaho fakamaau ʻiate kimoutolu.
23 And thou, Cafarnaum, whethir thou schalt be arerid vp in to heuene? Thou shalt go doun in to helle. For if the vertues that ben don in thee, hadden be don in Sodom, perauenture thei schulden haue dwellid `in to this dai. (Hadēs g86)
Pea ko Koe Kapaneume, ʻa Koe kuo hiki ki he langi, ʻe fakahifo Koe ki heli: he ka ne fai ʻi Sotoma ʻae ngaahi ngāue lahi, ʻaia kuo fai ʻiate koe, pehē, kuo tuʻumaʻu ia ʻo aʻu ki he ʻaho ni. (Hadēs g86)
24 Netheles Y seie to you, that to the lond of Sodom it schal be `lesse peyne in the dai of doom, than to thee.

25 In thilke tyme Jhesus answeride, and seide, Y knowleche to thee, fadir, lord of heuene and of erthe, for thou hast hid these thingis fro wijse men, and redi, and hast schewid hem to litle children;
Pea lea ʻa Sisu ʻi he ʻaho ko ia, ʻo pehē, “ʻOku ou fakafetaʻi kiate koe, ʻe Tamai, ko e ʻEiki ʻoe langi mo māmani, ʻi hoʻo fufū ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni mei he kau poto mo e fieʻiloʻilo, ka kuo ke fakahā ia ki he kau valevale.
26 so, fadir, for so it was plesynge tofore thee.
Ke pehē, ʻe Tamai: he ʻoku lelei ia ʻi ho ʻao ke pehē.
27 Alle thingis ben youune to me of my fadir; and no man knewe the sone, but the fadir, nethir ony man knewe the fadir, but the sone, and to whom the sone wolde schewe.
“Kuo tuku ʻae meʻa kotoa pē kiate au ʻe heʻeku Tamai: pea ʻoku ʻikai ʻilo ʻae ʻAlo ʻe ha taha, ka ko e Tamai pe; pea ʻoku ʻikai ʻilo ʻae Tamai ʻe ha taha, ka ko e ʻAlo pe, mo ia ʻe fakahā ia ki ai ʻe he ʻAlo.
28 Alle ye that traueilen, and ben chargid, come to me, and Y schal fulfille you.
“Haʻu kiate au ʻakimoutolu kotoa pē ʻoku feinga mo māfasia, pea te u foaki ʻae fiemālie kiate kimoutolu.
29 Take ye my yok on you, and lerne ye of me, for Y am mylde and meke in herte; and ye schulen fynde reste to youre soulis.
Toʻo ʻeku haʻamonga kiate kimoutolu, pea mou ako ʻiate au; he ʻoku ou angavaivai mo angamalū: pea te mou ʻilo ai ʻae fiemālie ki homou laumālie.
30 `For my yok is softe, and my charge liyt.
He ʻoku faingofua pe ʻeku haʻamonga, pea ʻoku maʻamaʻa ʻeku kavenga.”
