Matthew 1
1 The book of the generacioun of Jhesu Crist, the sone of Dauid, the sone of Abraham.

2 Abraham bigat Isaac. Isaac bigat Jacob. Jacob bigat Judas and hise britheren.

10 Ezechie bigat Manasses. Manasses bigat Amon.
Ezequías fue padre de Manasés. Manasés fue el padre de Amón. Amón fue el padre de Josías.
11 Amon bigat Josias. Josias bigat Jeconyas and his britheren, in to the transmygracioun of Babiloyne.
Josías fue el padre de Jechoniah y sus hermanos en el momento del exilio a Babilonia.
12 And aftir the transmygracioun of Babiloyne, Jeconyas bigat Salatiel. Salatiel bigat Zorobabel.
Después del exilio a Babilonia, Jechoniah fue el padre de Salatiel. Salatiel fue el padre de Zorobabel.
13 Zorobabel bigat Abyut. Abyut bigat Eliachym. Eliachym bigat Asor.
Zorobabel fue el padre de Abiud. Abiud fue el padre de Eliaquim. Eliaquim fue el padre de Azor.
14 Asor bigat Sadoc. Sadoc bigat Achym.

15 Achym bigat Elyut. Elyut bigat Eleasar. Eleasar bigat Mathan.
Eliud fue el padre de Eleazar. Eleazar fue el padre de Matán. Matán fue el padre de Jacob.
16 Mathan bigat Jacob. Jacob bigat Joseph, the hosebonde of Marye, of whom Jhesus was borun, that is clepid Christ.
Jacob fue el padre de José, el esposo de María, de quien nació Jesús, llamado Cristo.
17 And so alle generaciouns fro Abraham to Dauid ben fourtene generacions, and fro Dauid to the transmygracioun of Babiloyne ben fourtene generaciouns, and fro the transmygracioun of Babiloyne to Crist ben fourtene generaciouns.
Así que todas las generaciones desde Abraham hasta David son catorce generaciones; desde David hasta el exilio a Babilonia, catorce generaciones; y desde el exilio a Babilonia hasta el Cristo, catorce generaciones.
18 But the generacioun of Crist was thus. Whanne Marie, the modir of Jhesu, was spousid to Joseph, bifore thei camen togidere, she was foundun hauynge of the Hooli Goost in the wombe.
El nacimiento de Jesucristo fue así: Después de que su madre, María, se comprometiera con José, antes de que se juntasen, fue hallada embarazada por el Espíritu Santo.
19 And Joseph, hir hosebonde, for he was riytful, and wolde not puplische hir, he wolde priueli haue left hir.
José, su marido, siendo un hombre justo, y no queriendo hacer de ella un ejemplo público, pensaba repudiarla en secreto.
20 But while he thouyte thes thingis, lo! the aungel of the Lord apperide `in sleep to hym, and seide, Joseph, the sone of Dauid, nyle thou drede to take Marie, thi wijf; for that thing that is borun in hir is of the Hooli Goost.
Pero cuando pensaba en estas cosas, he aquí que un ángel del Señor se le apareció en sueños, diciendo: “José, hijo de David, no temas recibir a María como esposa, porque lo que ha sido concebido en ella es del Espíritu Santo.
21 And she shal bere a sone, and thou shalt clepe his name Jhesus; for he schal make his puple saaf fro her synnes.
Ella dará a luz un hijo. Le pondrás el nombre de Jesús, porque es él quien salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados”.
22 For al this thing was don, that it schulde be fulfillid, that was seid of the Lord bi a prophete, seiynge, Lo!
Todo esto ha sucedido para que se cumpla lo dicho por el Señor por medio del profeta, que dijo
23 a virgyn shal haue in wombe, and she schal bere a sone, and thei schulen clepe his name Emanuel, that is to seie, God with vs.
“He aquí que la virgen quedará encinta, y dará a luz un hijo. Llamarán su nombre Emanuel”. que es, interpretado, “Dios con nosotros”.
24 And Joseph roos fro sleepe, and dide as the aungel of the Lord comaundide hym, and took Marie, his wijf;
José se levantó de su sueño e hizo lo que el ángel del Señor le había ordenado, y tomó a su mujer para sí;
25 and he knew her not, til she hadde borun her firste bigete sone, and clepide his name Jhesus.
y no la conoció sexualmente hasta que dio a luz a su hijo primogénito. Le puso el nombre de Jesús.
