< Mark 9 >

1 And he seide to hem, Treuli Y seie to you, that there ben summen stondynge here, whiche schulen not taste deth, til thei seen the rewme of God comynge in vertu.
AND he said to them, Amen I say to you, There are some who are standing here, who shall not taste death, until they shall have seen the kingdom of Aloha come with power.
2 And aftir sixe daies Jhesus took Petre, and James, and Joon, and ledde hem bi hem silf aloone in to an hiy hille; and he was transfigurid bifor hem.
And after six days Jeshu took Kipha, and Jacub, and Juchanon, and led them up to a high mountain by themselves. And he was altered before their eyes:
3 And hise clothis weren maad ful schynynge and white as snow, whiche maner white clothis a fuller may not make on erthe.
and his raiment shone, and became exceeding white as the snow; as the sons of man on earth could not make white.
4 And Helie with Moises apperide to hem, and thei spaken with Jhesu.
And there were seen with them Musha and Elia discoursing with Jeshu.
5 And Petre answeride, and seide to Jhesu, Maister, it is good vs to be here; and make we here thre tabernaclis, oon to thee, oon to Moyses, and oon to Helie.
And Kipha said to him, Rabi, it is good for us here to be: and let us make three tabernacles; for thee one, and for Musha one, and for Elia one.
6 For he wiste not what he schulde seie; for thei weren agaste bi drede.
But he knew not what he said, for they were in fear.
7 And ther was maad a cloude overschadewynge hem; and a vois cam of the cloude, and seide, This is my moost derworth sone, here ye hym.
And there was the cloud, and it shadowed over them: and the voice was from the cloud, saying, This is my Son, the Beloved, him hear.
8 And anoon thei bihelden aboute, and sayn no more ony man, but Jhesu oonli with hem.
And instantly, while the disciples looked, they saw no man, but Jeshu alone with them.
9 And whanne thei camen doun fro the hille, he comaundide hem, that thei schulden not telle to ony man tho thingis that thei hadden seen, but whanne mannus sone hath risun ayen fro deeth.
And while they were descending from the mountain, he charged them to tell no man what they had seen, until the Son of man should have arisen from the dead.
10 And thei helden the word at hem silf, sekynge what this schulde be, whanne he hadde risun ayen fro deth.
And they held discourse among themselves, and inquired what was this word, when he should have arisen from among the dead.
11 And thei axiden hym, and seiden, What thanne seien Farisees and scribis, for it bihoueth `Helie to come first.
And they asked him, saying, How then say the Sophree that Elia must come before?
12 And he answeride, and seide to hem, Whanne Helie cometh, he schal first restore alle thingis; and as it is writun of mannus sone, that he suffre many thingis, and be dispisid.
He said to them, Elia doth come before, to restore all things; and how it is written concerning the Son of man, that much he should suffer, and be rejected.
13 And Y seie to you, that Helie is comun, and thei diden to hym what euer thingis thei wolden, as it is writun of hym.
But I tell you, Elia hath also come, and they have done to him whatever they would, as it is written concerning him.
14 And he comynge to hise disciplis, saiy a greet cumpany aboute hem, and scribis disputynge with hem.
AND when he came to his disciples, he saw with them a great crowd, and the Sophree questioning with them.
15 And anoon al the puple seynge Jhesu, was astonyed, and thei dredden; and thei rennynge gretten hym.
And immediately all the crowd saw him, and wondered, and ran to salute him.
16 And he axide hem, What disputen ye among you?
And he inquired of the Sophree, What dispute you with them?
17 And oon of the cumpany answerde, and seide, Mayster, Y haue brouyt to thee my sone, that hath a doumbe spirit; and where euer he takith hym,
And one from the company answered and said, Malphona, I had brought my son to thee, because he hath a spirit which speaketh not;
18 he hurtlith hym doun, and he fometh, and betith togidir with teeth, and wexith drye. And Y seide to thi disciplis, that thei schulden caste hym out, and thei myyten not.
and when he seizeth him, he dasheth him, and teareth and grindeth his teeth, and he becometh dry. And I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out, but they could not.
19 And he answeride to hem, and seide, A! thou generacioun out of bileue, hou longe schal Y be among you, hou longe schal Y suffre you? Brynge ye hym to me.
Jeshu answered, and said to him, O generation that believeth not! how long shall I be with you? how long shall I tolerate you? bring him to me.
20 And thei brouyten hym. And whanne he had seyn him, anoon the spirit troublide him; and was throw doun to grounde, and walewide, and fomede.
And they brought him unto him: and when the spirit saw him, he immediately dashed him, and he fell upon the ground; and was convulsed, and was torn.
21 And he axide his fadir, Hou longe `is it, sith this `hath falle to hym? And he seide, Fro childhode;
And Jeshu asked the father, How long is it from the time from which it was thus? He saith to him, Behold, from his childhood.
22 and ofte he hath put hym in to fier, and in to watir, to leese hym; but if thou maiste ony thing, helpe vs, and haue merci on vs.
And many times he casteth him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but whatever thou canst, help me, and have mercy upon me.
23 And Jhesus seide to hym, If thou maiste bileue, alle thingis ben possible to man that bileueth.
Jeshu saith to him, If thou canst believe, every thing can be to him who believeth.
24 And anoon the fadir of the child criede with teeris, and seide, Lord, Y bileue; Lord, helpe thou myn vnbileue.
And in a moment the father of the youth cried out, weeping and saying, I am believing; help the defect of my faith.
25 And whanne Jhesus hadde seyn the puple rennynge togidere, he manasside the vnclene spirit, and seide to hym, Thou deef and doumbe spirit, Y comaunde thee, go out fro hym, and entre no more in to hym.
But when Jeshu saw the people running together, and assembling to him, he rebuked the unclean spirit, and said to him, Spirit, deaf and unspeaking! I command thee, come forth from him, and enter not into him again!
26 And he criynge, and myche to breidynge him, wente out fro hym; and he was maad as deed, so that many seiden, that he was deed.
And that devil cried greatly, and crushed him, and went forth. And he became as the dead; as that many would say, He is dead.
27 And Jhesus helde his hoond, and lifte hym vp; and he roos.
But Jeshu took him by the hand, and raised him.
28 And whanne he hadde entrid in to an hous, hise disciplis axiden hym priueli, Whi myyten not we caste hym out?
But when Jeshu had gone into the house, his disciples inquired of him by themselves, Why could not we cast him out?
29 And he seide to hem, This kynde in no thing may go out, but in preier and fastyng.
Jeshu said to them, This kind with nothing can be cast out, but by fasting and prayer.
30 And thei yeden fro thennus, and wente forth in to Galile; and thei wolden not, that ony man wiste.
And when he had gone forth from thence, they passed into Galila: and he was not willing that any man should know of him.
31 And he tauyte hise disciplis, and seide to hem, For mannus sone schal be bitrayed in to the hondis of men, and thei schulen sle hym, and he slayn schal ryse ayen on the thridde day.
And he taught his disciples, and told them, That the Son of man would be delivered into the hands of men, and they would kill him; and that when he was slain, on the third day he should arise.
32 And thei knewen not the word, and dredden to axe hym.
But they understood not his word, and feared to ask him.
33 And thei camen to Cafarnaum. And whanne thei weren in the hous, he axide hem, What tretiden ye in the weie?
AND they came to Kapher-nachum: and when they had entered the house, he asked them of what they had argued in the way among themselves.
34 And thei weren stille; for thei disputiden among hem in the weie, who of hem schulde be grettest.
But they were silent: for they had contended in the way one with another, who should be greatest among them.
35 And he sat, and clepide the twelue, and seide to hem, If ony man wole be the firste among you, he schal be the laste of alle, and the mynyster of alle.
And Jeshu sat, and he called the twelve, and said to them, Whoever wills to be the first, shall be the last of all, and the servant of all.
36 And he took a child, and sette hym in the myddil of hem; and whanne he hadde biclippid hym, he seide to hem,
And he took a certain child, and made him stand in the midst: and he took him upon his arms, and said to them,
37 Who euer resseyueth oon of such children in my name, he resseyueth me; and who euer resseyueth me, he resseyueth not me aloone, but hym that sente me.
Every one who receiveth (one who is) as this child in my name, me he receiveth: and whoever me receiveth, not me he receiveth, but Him who sent me.
38 Joon answeride to hym, and seide, Maister, we sayn oon castynge out feendis in thi name, which sueth not vs, and we han forbodun hym.
Juchanon said to him, Rabi, we saw a man casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he did not adhere to us.
39 And Jhesus seide, Nyle ye forbede him; for ther is no man that doith vertu in my name, and may soone speke yuel of me.
Jeshu saith to them, Forbid him not; for no man who doeth powerful works in my name, can soon speak of me that which is evil.
40 He that is not ayens vs, is for vs.
He therefore who is not against you is for you.
41 And who euer yyueth you a cuppe of coold water to drynke in my name, for ye ben of Crist, treuli Y seie to you, he schal not leese his mede.
For every one who shall give you only a cup of waters to drink in the name that you are of the Meshicha, Amen I say to you, He shall not lose his reward.
42 And who euer schal sclaundre oon of these litle that bileuen in me, it were betere to hym that a mylne stoon `of assis were don aboute his necke, and he were cast in to the see.
And every one who shall offend one of these little ones who believe in me, it had been better for him that an ass-millstone had been set to his neck, and he had been cast forth into the sea.
43 And if thin hoond sclaundre thee, kitte it awey; it is betere to thee to entre feble in to lijf, than haue two hondis, and go in to helle, in to fier that neuer schal be quenchid, (Geenna g1067)
But if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: better for thee mutilated to go into life, than having two hands to go into gihana; (Geenna g1067)
44 where the worm of hem dieth not, and the fier is not quenchid.
where their worm dieth not, and their fire is not quenched.
45 And if thi foote sclaundre thee, kitte it of; it is betere to thee to entre crokid in to euerlastynge lijf, than haue twei feet, and be sent in to helle of fier, that neuer schal be quenchid, (Geenna g1067)
And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: better for thee to go into life lame, than having two feet to fall into gihana: (Geenna g1067)
46 where the worme of hem dieth not, and the fier is not quenchid.
where their worm dieth not, and their fire is not quenched.
47 That if thin iye sclaundre thee, cast it out; it is betere to thee to entre gogil iyed in to the reume of God, than haue twey iyen, and be sent in to helle of fier, where the worme of hem dieth not, (Geenna g1067)
And if thine eye offend thee, root it out: better for thee that with one eye thou enter the kingdom of Aloha, than having two eyes to fall into the gihana of fire: (Geenna g1067)
48 and the fier is not quenchid.
where their worm dieth not, and their fire is not quenched.
49 And euery man schal be saltid with fier, and euery slayn sacrifice schal be maad sauery with salt.
For every (thing) with fire is salted, and every victim with salt shall be salted.
50 Salt is good; if salt be vnsauery, in what thing schulen ye make it sauery? Haue ye salt among you, and haue ye pees among you.
Good is salt: but if the salt shall (become) insipid, how shall it be salted? Let there be in you salt, and in peace be one with another.
