Mark 7
1 And the Farisees and summe of the scribis camen fro Jerusalem togidir to hym.
Os fariseus e os líderes religiosos que tinham vindo de Jerusalém para encontrar Jesus
2 And whanne thei hadden seen summe of hise disciplis ete breed with vnwaisschen hoondis, thei blameden.
observaram que alguns dos seus discípulos comiam com mãos “impuras” (significando não lavadas).
3 The Farisees and alle the Jewis eten not, but thei waisschen ofte her hoondis, holdynge the tradiciouns of eldere men.
(Os fariseus e todos os judeus não comem até que lavem as suas mãos, seguindo a tradição dos seus ancestrais.
4 And whanne thei turnen ayen fro chepyng, thei eten not, but thei ben waisschen; and many other thingis ben, `that ben taken `to hem to kepe, wasschyngis of cuppis, and of watir vessels, and of vessels of bras, and of beddis.
Da mesma maneira, não comem quando voltam do mercado até que tenham tomado banho. Eles seguem muitos outros rituais, como a limpeza de copos, jarros, vasilhas de metal e camas.)
5 And Farisees and scribis axiden hym, and seiden, Whi gon not thi disciplis aftir the tradicioun of eldere men, but with vnwasschen hondis thei eten breed?
Então, os fariseus e os líderes religiosos perguntaram a Jesus: “Por que os seus discípulos não seguem a tradição de nossos antepassados? Eles comem a comida com as mãos por lavar.”
6 And he answeride, and seide to hem, Ysaie prophesiede wel of you, ypocritis, as it is writun, This puple worschipith me with lippis, but her herte is fer fro me;
Jesus respondeu: “Isaías estava certo sobre vocês, hipócritas, quando disse: ‘Essas pessoas afirmam que me honram, mas, em seu pensamento, estão longe de mim.
7 and in veyn thei worschipen me, techinge the doctrines and the heestis of men.
Não faz sentido sua devoção a mim, pois o que eles ensinam como doutrinas são apenas regras humanas.’” E lhes falou:
8 For ye leeuen the maundement of God, and holden the tradiciouns of men, wasschyngis of watir vessels, and of cuppis; and many othir thingis lijk to these ye doon.
“Vocês desrespeitam a lei de Deus e, em vez disso, seguem cuidadosamente as tradições humanas.”
9 And he seide to hem, Wel ye han maad the maundement of God voide, `to kepe youre tradicioun.
E continuou dizendo: “É incrível como vocês põem de lado a lei de Deus, para que possam seguir as suas tradições!
10 For Moyses seide, Worschipe thi fadir and thi modir; and he that cursith fadir or modir, die he by deeth.
Moisés disse: ‘Honrem o seu pai e a sua mãe’, e também: ‘Aquele que amaldiçoar o seu pai e a sua mãe deve morrer.’
11 But ye seien, If a man seie to fadir or modir, Corban, that is, What euer yifte is of me, it schal profite to thee;
Mas vocês dizem que se alguém disser ao seu pai ou a sua mãe: ‘Tudo que você possa receber de mim, agora é Corbã’ (que significa dedicado a Deus),
12 and ouer ye suffren not hym do ony thing to fadir or modir,
então, ele não precisa ajudar a sua mãe ou ao seu pai.
13 and ye breken the word of God bi youre tradicioun, that ye han youun; and ye don many suche thingis.
Por essa tradição, que passa de geração em geração, vocês tornam a palavra de Deus nula e sem sentido. E vocês fazem muitas outras coisas como essa.”
14 And he eftsoone clepide the puple, and seide to hem, Ye alle here me, and vndurstonde.
Jesus chamou novamente a multidão e lhes disse: “Por favor, todos me escutem e entendam.
15 No thing that is withouten a man, that entrith in to hym, may defoule him; but tho thingis that comen forth of a man, tho it ben that defoulen a man.
Não é o que está fora e vai para dentro que os torna impuros. É o que sai de dentro que os torna impuros.”
16 If ony man haue eeris of hering, here he.
17 And whanne he was entrid in to an hous, fro the puple, hise disciplis axiden hym the parable.
Quando Jesus entrou em casa, deixando a multidão, os seus discípulos lhe perguntaram sobre o exemplo que ele tinha dado.
18 And he seide to hem, Ye ben vnwise also. Vndurstonde ye not, that al thing without forth that entreth in to a man, may not defoule hym?
Ele lhes perguntou: “Vocês também não entenderam? Não percebem que aquilo que vocês comem não é o que os torna impuros?
19 for it hath not entrid in to his herte, but in to the wombe, and bynethe it goith out, purgynge alle metis.
A comida não vai para a sua mente e, sim, para o seu estômago e, depois, ela sai do corpo. Então, todos os alimentos são cerimonialmente ‘puros.’
20 But he seide, The thingis that gon out of a man, tho defoulen a man.
É o que sai de dentro de vocês que os torna impuros.
21 For fro with ynne, of the herte of men comen forth yuel thouytis, auowtries,
É de dentro, das mentes das pessoas, que surgem os maus pensamentos: imoralidade sexual, roubo, assassinato, adultério,
22 fornycaciouns, mansleyingis, theftis, auaricis, wickidnessis, gile, vnchastite, yuel iye, blasfemyes, pride, foli.
ganância, malícia, mentira, indecência, inveja, calúnia, orgulho e falar e agir sem pensar nas consequências.
23 Alle these yuels comen forth fro with ynne, and defoulen a man.
Todas essas maldades vêm de dentro e tornam as pessoas impuras.”
24 And Jhesus roos vp fro thennus, and wente in to the coostis of Tyre and of Sidon. And he yede in to an hous, and wolde that no man wiste; and he myyte not be hid.
Então, Jesus saiu dali e foi para a região de Tiro. Ele não queria que ninguém soubesse que ele estava em uma casa dali, mas não conseguiu manter isso em segredo.
25 For a womman, anoon as sche herd of hym, whos douytir hadde an vnclene spirit, entride, and fel doun at hise feet.
Assim que uma mulher, cuja filha estava possuída por um espírito mau, ouviu sobre ele, veio e se ajoelhou aos seus pés.
26 And the womman was hethen, of the generacioun of Sirofenyce. And sche preiede hym, that he wolde caste out a deuel fro hir douyter.
A mulher era grega, de nacionalidade siro-fenícia. Ela implorou para que Jesus expulsasse da sua filha o demônio.
27 And he seide to hir, Suffre thou, that the children be fulfillid first; for it is not good to take the breed of children, and yyue to houndis.
Jesus respondeu: “Primeiro, deixe que os filhos comam até ficarem satisfeitos. Não é certo tirar o alimento dos filhos e jogá-lo aos cães.”
28 And sche answeride, and seide to him, Yis, Lord; for litil whelpis eten vndur the bord, of the crummes of children.
Ela disse: “É verdade, senhor, mas até mesmo os cães comem as sobras que os filhos deixam cair debaixo da mesa.”
29 And Jhesus seide to hir, Go thou, for this word the feend wente out of thi douytir.
Jesus lhe disse: “Por causa de sua resposta, você pode ir; o demônio já saiu de sua filha.”
30 And whanne sche was gon in to hir hous home, sche foonde the damysel ligynge on the bed, and the deuel gon out fro hir.
Ela foi para casa e encontrou a sua filha deitada na cama, pois o demônio já havia saído dela.
31 And eftsoones Jhesus yede out fro the coostis of Tire, and cam thorou Sidon to the see of Galilee, bitwixe the myddil of the coostis of Decapoleos.
Saindo da região de Tiro, Jesus passou por Sidom e, depois, pelo mar da Galileia e pelo território das Dez Cidades.
32 And thei bryngen to hym a man deef and doumbe, and preieden hym to leye his hoond on hym.
Lá, eles lhe levaram um homem surdo, que também não conseguia falar muito bem. Eles pediram que Jesus tocasse no homem com a sua mão e o curasse.
33 And he took hym asidis fro the puple, and puttide hise fyngris in to hise eris; and he spetide, and touchide his tonge.
Após Jesus tirá-lo do meio da multidão, colocou os seus dedos nos ouvidos do homem surdo. Depois, Jesus cuspiu e colocou um pouco do seu cuspe na língua do homem.
34 And he bihelde in to heuene, and sorewide with ynne, and seide, Effeta, that is, Be thou openyd.
Jesus olhou para o céu e com um suspiro disse: “Efatá”, que significa, “Abra-se!”
35 And anoon hise eris weren openyd, and the boond of his tunge was vnboundun, and he spak riytli.
Os ouvidos do homem se abriram, seu problema de fala acabou, e ele começou a falar sem dificuldade.
36 And he comaundide to hem, that thei schulden seie to no man; but hou myche he comaundide to hem, so myche more thei prechiden,
Jesus ordenou para que ninguém contasse o que tinha acontecido. Mas quanto mais Jesus dizia isso, mais eles espalhavam a notícia.
37 and bi so myche more thei wondriden, and seiden, He dide wel alle thingis, and he made deef men to here, and doumbe men to speke.
Eles ficaram completamente impressionados e disseram: “Tudo que ele faz é maravilhoso. Ele fez até mesmo o surdo ouvir, e o mudo falar!”
