Luke 9
1 And whanne the twelue apostlis weren clepid togidir, Jhesus yaf to hem vertu and power on alle deuelis, and that thei schulden heele sijknessis.
Скликавши дванадцятьох, Він дав їм силу та владу виганяти всіх демонів і зцілювати всі хвороби.
2 And he sente hem for to preche the kyngdom of God, and to heele sijk men.
І послав їх проповідувати Царство Боже та зцілювати хворих.
3 And he seide to hem, No thing take ye in the weie, nether yerde, ne scrippe, nether breed, ne money, and nether haue ye two cootis.
Він промовив до них: «Нічого не беріть у дорогу: ні палиці, ні торбини, ні хліба, ні грошей, ні двох сорочок не майте.
4 And in to what hous that ye entren, dwelle ye there, and go ye not out fro thennus.
Коли ж увійдете в якийсь дім, там залишайтесь і звідти йдіть далі.
5 And who euer resseyuen not you, go ye out of that citee, and schake ye of the poudir of youre feet in to witnessyng on hem.
Якщо десь вас не приймуть, то, виходячи з того міста, обтрусіть пил зі своїх ніг на свідчення проти них!»
6 And thei yeden forth, and wenten aboute bi castels, prechynge and helynge euery where.
Вони вийшли та ходили по селах, звіщаючи Добру Звістку й зцілюючи всюди.
7 And Eroude tetrak herde alle thingis that weren don of hym, and he doutide,
Тетрарх Ірод почув про все, що сталося, і занепокоївся, бо дехто казав, що це Іван воскрес із мертвих;
8 for that it was seide of sum men, that Joon was risen fro deth; and of summen, that Elie hadde apperid; but of othere, that oon of the elde prophetis was risun.
інші [казали], що це з’явився Ілля, а ще інші – що це один зі стародавніх пророків воскрес.
9 And Eroude seide, Y haue biheedid Joon; and who is this, of whom Y here siche thingis? And he souyte to se hym.
Тоді Ірод сказав: «Івана я стратив, тоді хто Цей, про Кого я таке чую?» І намагався зустрітися з Ісусом.
10 And the apostlis turneden ayen, and tolden to hym alle thingis that thei hadden don. And he took hem, and wente bisidis in to a desert place, that is Bethsada.
Повернувшись, апостоли розповіли [Ісусові] про все, що зробили. Він узяв їх та відійшов у безлюдне місце біля міста, що зветься Віфсаїда.
11 And whanne the puple knewen this, thei folewiden hym. And he resseyuede hem, and spak to hem of the kyngdom of God; and he heelide hem that hadden neede of cure.
Але люди, дізнавшись про це, пішли за Ним. Зустрівши їх, Він почав говорити про Царство Боже й зцілював тих, хто потребував зцілення.
12 And the dai bigan to bowe doun, and the twelue camen, and seiden to hym, Leeue the puple, that thei go, and turne in to castels and townes, that ben aboute, that thei fynde mete, for we ben here in a desert place.
Коли ж день схилявся до вечора, підійшли до Нього дванадцятеро й сказали: ―Відпусти людей, щоби пішли в навколишні села та хутори відпочити та знайти чогось їсти, бо ми тут у безлюдному місці.
13 And he seide to hem, Yue ye to hem to ete. And thei seiden, Ther ben not to vs mo than fyue looues and twei fischis, but perauenture that we go, and bie meetis to al this puple.
Але Він сказав їм: ―Ви дайте їм їсти! Вони відповіли: ―Ми не маємо нічого, крім п’яти хлібів та двох рибин. Хіба що підемо й купимо їжу для всіх цих людей.
14 And the men weren almost fyue thousynde. And he seide to hise disciplis, Make ye hem sitte to mete bi cumpanyes, a fifti to gidir.
А було там близько п’яти тисяч чоловіків. [Ісус] промовив до Своїх учнів: ―Розсадіть їх групами приблизно по п’ятдесят.
15 And thei diden so, and thei maden alle men sitte to mete.
Вони так і зробили, і розсадили всіх людей.
16 And whanne he hadde take the fyue looues and twei fischis, he biheeld in to heuene, and blesside hem, and brak, and delide to hise disciplis, that thei schulden sette forth bifor the cumpanyes.
Він же, узявши п’ять хлібів та дві рибини, подивився на небо, благословив їх і, розломивши, дав учням, щоб розділили між людьми.
17 And alle men eeten, and weren fulfillid; and that that lefte to hem of brokun metis was takun vp, twelue cofyns.
Усі їли та наситилися, і назбирали дванадцять кошиків залишків.
18 And it was don, whanne he was aloone preiynge, hise disciplis weren with hym, and he axide hem, and seide, Whom seien the puple that Y am?
Одного разу, коли [Ісус] молився на самоті й разом із Ним були лише учні, Він запитав їх: ―За кого вважають Мене люди?
19 And thei answeriden, and seiden, Joon Baptist, othir seien Elie, and othir seien, o profete of the formere is risun.
Вони відповіли: ―Одні – за Івана Хрестителя, інші – за Іллю, ще інші – за одного зі стародавніх пророків, що воскрес.
20 And he seide to hem, But who seien ye that Y am? Symount Petir answeride, and seide, The Crist of God.
Він же запитав: ―А ви за кого Мене вважаєте? Петро відповів: ―Ти Христос Божий!
21 And he blamynge hem comaundide that thei schulden seie to no man,
Тоді Він наказав їм нікому не розповідати про це.
22 and seide these thingis, For it bihoueth mannus sone to suffre many thingis, and to be repreued of the elder men, and of the princis of prestis, and of scribis, and to be slayn, and the thridde dai to rise ayen.
Далі додав: «Синові Людському належить багато страждати, бути відкинутим старійшинами, первосвященниками та книжниками, бути вбитим, але третього дня воскресне».
23 And he seide to alle, If ony wole come aftir me, denye he hym silf, and take he his cross euery dai, and sue he me.
Потім промовив до всіх: «Якщо хтось хоче йти за Мною, нехай зречеться самого себе, візьме свій хрест та щодня слідує за Мною.
24 For he that wole make his lijf saaf schal leese it; and he that leesith his lijf for me, schal make it saaf.
Бо хто хоче спасти своє життя, той загубить його, а хто втратить життя своє заради Мене, той спасе його.
25 And what profitith it to a man, if he wynne al the world, and leese hymsilf, and do peiryng of him silf.
Яка користь людині, якщо здобуде весь світ, а саму себе занапастить або згубить?
26 For who so schameth me and my wordis, mannus sone schal schame hym, whanne he cometh in his maieste, and of the fadris, and of the hooli aungels.
Хто посоромиться Мене та Моїх слів, того й Син Людський посоромиться, коли прийде в славі Своїй, і Отця, і святих ангелів.
27 And Y seie to you, verily ther ben summe stondynge here, whiche schulen not taste deeth, til thei seen the rewme of God.
Істинно кажу вам: деякі з присутніх тут не зазнають смерті, доки не побачать Царства Божого».
28 And it was don aftir these wordis almest eiyte daies, and he took Petre and James and Joon, and he stiede in to an hil, to preye.
А приблизно через вісім днів після цих слів, [Ісус] узяв із Собою Петра, Івана та Якова й піднявся на гору, щоб молитися.
29 And while he preiede, the licnesse of his cheer was chaungid, and his clothing was whit schynynge.
Під час молитви вигляд Його обличчя змінився, і одежа [стала] білою та блискучою.
30 And lo! two men spaken with hym,
І ось двоє чоловіків розмовляли з Ним – це були Мойсей та Ілля.
31 and Moises and Helie weren seen in maieste; and thei sayn his goyng out, which he schulde fulfille in Jerusalem.
Вони з’явились у славі та розмовляли з Ним про Його відхід, який Він мав завершити в Єрусалимі.
32 And Petre, and thei that weren with hym, weren heuy of sleep, and thei wakynge saien his majeste, and the twey men that stoden with hym.
Петро й ті, що були з Ним, заснули, але, прокинувшись, побачили Його славу та цих двох чоловіків, які стояли з Ним.
33 And it was don, whanne thei departiden fro hym, Petir seide to Jhesu, Comaundour, it is good that we be here, and make we here thre tabernaclis, oon to thee, and oon to Moises, and oon to Elie. And he wiste not what he schulde seie.
Коли вони відійшли від Нього, Петро сказав Ісусові: «Наставнику, добре нам тут бути! Зробімо три намети: один для Тебе, один для Мойсея та один для Іллі». Він не знав, що говорить.
34 But while he spak these thingis, a cloude was maad, and ouerschadewide hem; and thei dredden, whanne thei entriden in to the cloude.
Коли він це казав, з’явилася хмара, яка накрила їх. Вони ж злякалися, коли увійшли в хмару.
35 And a vois was maad out of the cloude, and seide, This is my derworth sone, here ye hym.
З хмари промовив голос: «Це Син Мій обраний, Його слухайте!»
36 And while the vois was maad, Jhesu was foundun aloone. And thei weren stille, and to no man seiden in tho daies ouyt of tho thingis, that thei hadden seyn.
Коли ж пролунав голос, Ісус залишився Сам. Вони мовчали й нікому в ті дні не казали про те, що бачили.
37 But it was doon in the dai suynge, whanne thei camen doun of the hil, myche puple mette hem.
Наступного дня, після того, як вони зійшли з гори, великий натовп зустрів Його.
38 And lo! a man of the cumpany criede, and seide, Maister, Y biseche thee, biholde my sone, for Y haue no mo; and lo!
І ось один чоловік із натовпу вигукнув: ―Учителю, благаю, зглянься над моїм сином, бо він у мене єдиний.
39 a spirit takith hym, and sudenli he crieth, and hurtlith doun, and to-drawith hym with fome, and vnneth he goith awei al to-drawynge hym.
[Нечистий] дух хапає його, і він зненацька кричить, і катує його [дух] аж до піни. Насилу відходить, залишаючи його безсилим.
40 And Y preiede thi disciplis, that thei schulden caste hym out, and thei myyten not.
Я просив Твоїх учнів вигнати духа, але вони не змогли.
41 And Jhesus answerde and seide to hem, A! vnfeithful generacioun and weiward, hou long schal Y be at you, and suffre you? brynge hidur thi sone.
Ісус у відповідь сказав: ―О роде невірний та розбещений, доки буду з вами? Доки терпітиму вас? Приведи сюди твого сина!
42 And whanne he cam nyy, the deuel hurtlide hym doun, and to-braidide hym. And Jhesus blamyde `the vnclene spirit, and heelide the child, and yeldide him to his fadir.
Коли хлопчик наближався, демон у припадку кинув його на землю, але Ісус наказав нечистому духові [відійти], зцілив дитину та віддав її батькові.
43 And alle men wondriden greetli in the gretnesse of God. And whanne alle men wondriden in alle thingis that he dide, he seide to hise disciplis,
Усі були вражені Божою величчю. Коли всі дивувалися всьому, що робив [Ісус], Він промовив до своїх учнів:
44 Putte ye these wordis in youre hertis, for it is to come, that mannus sone be bitrayed in to the hondis of men.
«Вкладіть ці слова у ваші вуха: Син Людський буде виданий у руки людські».
45 And thei knewen not this word, and it was hid bifor hem, that thei feeliden it not; and thei dredden to axe hym of this word.
Однак учні не зрозуміли цих слів: вони були приховані від них, щоб не зрозуміли їх, а спитати Його про ці слова боялися.
46 But a thouyt entride in to hem, who of hem schulde be grettest.
Потім [учні] почали роздумувати між собою, хто з них найбільший.
47 And Jhesu, seynge the thouytis of the herte of hem, took a child, and settide hym bisidis hym;
Але Ісус, знаючи думки їхніх сердець, узяв дитину, поставив її біля Себе
48 and seide to hem, Who euer resseyueth this child in my name, resseyueth me; and who euer resseyueth me, resseiueth him that sente me; for he that is leest among you alle, is the grettest.
та промовив до них: ―Той, хто прийме цю дитину в ім’я Моє, той Мене приймає, а хто Мене приймає, приймає Того, Хто надіслав Мене. Бо хто найменший поміж вас, той найбільший.
49 And Joon answeride and seide, Comaundoure, we sayn a man castynge out feendis in thi name, and we han forbedun hym, for he sueth not thee with vs.
Іван відповів: ―Наставнику, ми бачили когось, хто Твоїм ім’ям виганяв демонів, та ми заборонили йому, бо він не ходить із нами.
50 And Jhesus seide to hym, Nyle ye forbede, for he that is not ayens vs, is for vs.
Ісус відповів: ―Не забороняйте, бо хто не проти вас, той за вас.
51 And it was don, whanne the daies of his takyng vp weren fulfillid, he settide faste his face, to go to Jerusalem,
Коли наближався час Йому бути взятим на небо, Він рішуче пішов до Єрусалима.
52 and sente messangeris bifor his siyt. And thei yeden, and entriden in to a citee of Samaritans, to make redi to hym.
І надіслав перед Собою вісників. Вони зайшли до одного самарянського села, щоб приготувати все для Нього.
53 And thei resseyueden not hym, for the face `was of hym goynge in to Jerusalem.
Але мешканці Його не прийняли, бо Він ішов до Єрусалима.
54 And whanne James and Joon, hise disciplis, seyn, thei seiden, Lord, wolt thou that we seien, that fier come doun fro heuene, and waste hem?
Побачивши це, учні Його, Яків та Іван, сказали: ―Господи, хочеш, ми накажемо, щоб зійшов вогонь із неба та спалив їх, як це зробив Ілля?
55 And he turnede, and blamyde hem, and seide, Ye witen not, whos spiritis ye ben;
[Ісус], обернувшись до них, заборонив їм та сказав: ―Не знаєте, якого ви духа,
56 for mannus sone cam not to leese mennus soulis, but to saue. And thei wenten in to another castel.
бо Син Людський прийшов не губити людські душі, а спасати їх! І пішли до іншого села.
57 And it was don, whanne thei walkeden in the weie, a man seide to hym, Y schal sue thee, whidur euer thou go.
Коли вони йшли дорогою, хтось сказав [Ісусові]: ―Я піду за Тобою, куди б Ти не пішов!
58 And Jhesus seide to hym, Foxis han dennes, and briddis of the eir han nestis, but mannus sone hath not where he reste his heed.
Ісус відповів йому: ―Лисиці мають нори, птахи небесні – гнізда, а Син Людський не має, де голову прихилити.
59 And he seide to another, Sue thou me. And he seide, Lord, suffre me first to go, and birie my fadir.
А іншому сказав: ―Іди за Мною! Але той відповів: ―Господи, дозволь мені спочатку піти поховати мого батька!
60 And Jhesus seide to hym, Suffre that deede men birie hir deede men; but go thou, and telle the kyngdom of God.
Тоді [Ісус] сказав: ―Залиши мертвим ховати своїх мерців, а ти йди звіщати Царство Боже!
61 And another seide, Lord, Y schal sue thee, but first suffre me to leeue `alle thingis that ben at hoom.
Інший сказав: ―Господи, я піду за Тобою, але дозволь мені спочатку попрощатися з моїми домашніми!
62 And Jhesus seide to hym, No man that puttith his hoond to the plouy, and biholdynge bacward, is able to the rewme of God.
Ісус сказав йому: ―Ніхто з тих, хто поклав руку на плуг та озирається назад, не придатний для Царства Божого!
