Luke 2
1 And it was don in tho daies, a maundement wente out fro the emperour August, that al the world schulde be discryued.
੧ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਕੈਸਰ ਔਗੁਸਤੁਸ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜੋ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਖੇ ਜਾਣ।
2 This firste discryuyng was maad of Cyryn, iustice of Sirie.
੨ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਖਾਈ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਸੀਰੀਯਾ ਦੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਕੁਰੇਨਿਯੁਸ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
3 And alle men wenten to make professioun, ech in to his owne citee.
੩ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਏ।
4 And Joseph wente vp fro Galilee, fro the citee Nazareth, in to Judee, in to a citee of Dauid, that is clepid Bethleem, for that he was of the hous and of the meyne of Dauid,
੪ਅਤੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਵੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ, ਗਲੀਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਸਰਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
5 that he schulde knouleche with Marie, his wijf, that was weddid to hym, and was greet with child.
੫ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੰਗੇਤਰ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਸੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਖਾਵੇ।
6 And it was don, while thei weren there, the daies weren fulfillid, that sche schulde bere child.
੬ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਦੇਣ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ।
7 And sche bare hir first borun sone, and wlappide hym in clothis, and leide hym in a cratche, for ther was no place to hym in no chaumbir.
੭ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਕਲੌਤੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਪੇਟ ਕੇ ਖੁਰਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਨ ਨਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ।
8 And scheepherdis weren in the same cuntre, wakynge and kepynge the watchis of the nyyt on her flok.
੮ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਚਰਵਾਹੇ ਸਨ, ਜੋ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਦੀ ਰਖਵਾਲੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
9 And lo! the aungel of the Lord stood bisidis hem, and the cleernesse of God schinede aboute hem; and thei dredden with greet drede.
੯ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਦੂਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਤੇਜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਾਰੋਂ ਪਾਸੇ ਚਮਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਗਏ।
10 And the aungel seide to hem, Nyle ye drede; for lo! Y preche to you a greet ioye, that schal be to al puple.
੧੦ਤਦ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਨਾ ਡਰੋ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ
11 For a sauyoure is borun to dai to you, that is Crist the Lord, in the citee of Dauid.
੧੧ਕਿ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਜ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਮੁਕਤੀਦਾਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮਸੀਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹੈ।
12 And this is a tokene to you; ye schulen fynde a yong child wlappid in clothis, and leid in a cratche.
੧੨ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਪੇਟਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਰਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖੋਗੇ।
13 And sudenli ther was maad with the aungel a multitude of heuenli knyythod, heriynge God,
੧੩ਤਦ ਇੱਕ ਦਮ ਸਵਰਗ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਦਲ ਉਸ ਦੂਤ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ।
14 and seiynge, Glorie be in the hiyeste thingis to God, and in erthe pees be to men of good wille.
੧੪ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ, ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੈ।
15 And it was don, as the `aungelis passiden awei fro hem in to heuene, the scheephirdis spaken togider, and seiden, Go we ouer to Bethleem, and se we this word that is maad, which the Lord hath `maad, and schewide to vs.
੧੫ਜਦ ਦੂਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸਵਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ ਤਦ ਚਰਵਾਹਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ, ਆਉ ਹੁਣ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਵੱਲ ਚੱਲੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਵੇਖੀਏ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ।
16 And thei hiyynge camen, and founden Marie and Joseph, and the yong child leid in a cratche.
੧੬ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਛੇਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਬਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਰਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਿਆ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
17 And thei seynge, knewen of the word that was seid to hem of this child.
੧੭ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਬਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਸ ਬਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਸੀ, ਸੁਣਾਇਆ।
18 And alle men that herden wondriden, and of these thingis that weren seid to hem of the scheephirdis.
੧੮ਅਤੇ ਚਰਵਾਹਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਏ।
19 But Marie kepte alle these wordis, berynge togider in hir herte.
੧੯ਪਰ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਖਿਆ।
20 And the scheepherdis turneden ayen, glorifyinge and heriynge God in alle thingis that thei hadden herd and seyn, as it was seid to hem.
੨੦ਅਤੇ ਚਰਵਾਹਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ, ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੁਣ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵਾਪਸ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।
21 And aftir that the eiyte daies weren endid, that the child schulde be circumcided, his name was clepid Jhesus, which was clepid of the aungel, bifor that he was conceyued in the wombe.
੨੧ਜਦ ਅੱਠ ਦਿਨ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋਏ, ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਯਿਸੂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਦੇ ਗਰਭ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੂਤ ਨੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ।
22 And aftir that the daies of the purgacioun of Marie weren fulfillid, aftir Moyses lawe, thei token hym into Jerusalem, to offre hym to the Lord, as it is writun in the lawe of the Lord,
੨੨ਜਦ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਮਰਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਏ।
23 For euery male kynde openynge the wombe, schal be clepid holi to the Lord; and that thei schulen yyue an offryng,
੨੩ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਹਰੇਕ ਪਹਿਲੌਠਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਕਹਾਵੇਗਾ।
24 aftir that it is seid in the lawe of the Lord, A peire of turturis, or twei culuer briddis.
੨੪ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਗੱਲ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਘੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਜੋੜਾ ਜਾਂ ਕਬੂਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਬੱਚੇ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ।
25 And lo! a man was in Jerusalem, whos name was Symeon; and this man was iust and vertuous, and aboode the coumfort of Israel; and the Hooli Goost was in hym.
੨੫ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਭਗਤ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸੀ।
26 And he hadde takun an answere of the Hooli Goost, that he schulde not se deeth, but he sawy first the Crist of the Lord.
੨੬ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਮਸੀਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਵੇਖੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਨਾ ਮਰੇਂਗਾ।
27 And he cam in spirit into the temple. And whanne his fadir and modir ledden the child Jhesu to do aftir the custom of the lawe for hym,
੨੭ਉਹ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਹੈਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਉਸ ਬਾਲਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਿਆਏ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਵਿਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ।
28 he took hym in to hise armes, and he blesside God,
੨੮ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ,
29 and seide, Lord, now thou leuyst thi seruaunt aftir thi word in pees;
੨੯ਹੇ ਮਾਲਕ, ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਕਰ,
30 for myn iyen han seyn thin helthe,
੩੦ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ,
31 which thou hast maad redi bifor the face of alle puplis;
੩੧ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ,
32 liyt to the schewyng of hethene men, and glorie of thi puple Israel.
੩੨ਕਿ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਜੋਤ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
33 And his fadir and his modir weren wondrynge on these thingis, that weren seid of hym.
੩੩ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ, ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
34 And Symeon blesside hem, and seide to Marie, his modir, Lo! this is set in to the fallyng doun and in to the risyng ayen of many men in Israel, and in to a tokene, to whom it schal be ayenseid.
੩੪ਤਦ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਕਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਮਰਿਯਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਵੇਖ ਇਹ ਬਾਲਕ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਠਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ।
35 And a swerd schal passe thorou thin owne soule, that the thouytis ben schewid of many hertis.
੩੫ਸਗੋਂ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਵੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁੱਭ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ।
36 And Anna was a prophetesse, the douytir of Fanuel, of the lynage of Aser. And sche hadde goon forth in many daies, and hadde lyued with hir hosebonde seuene yeer fro hir maydynhode.
੩੬ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ੇਰ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਆੱਨਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨਬੀਆ ਫ਼ਨੂਏਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸੱਤ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਸਕੀ ਸੀ।
37 And this was a widewe to foure scoor yeer and foure; and sche departide not fro the temple, but seruyde to God nyyt and dai in fastyngis and preieris.
੩੭ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਚੁਰਾਸੀਆਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਕਲ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਦੀ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਵਰਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਰਾਤ-ਦਿਨ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ।
38 And this cam vpon hem in thilk our, and knoulechide to the Lord, and spak of hym to alle that abiden the redempcioun of Israel.
੩੮ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਿਕਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਛੁਟਕਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ।
39 And as thei hadden ful don alle thingis, aftir the lawe of the Lord, thei turneden ayen in to Galilee, in to her citee Nazareth.
੩੯ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਤਾਂ ਗਲੀਲ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨਾਸਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਮੁੜੇ।
40 And the child wexe, and was coumfortid, ful of wisdom; and the grace of God was in hym.
੪੦ਉਹ ਬਾਲਕ ਵਧਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਫੜਦਾ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ।
41 And his fadir and modir wenten ech yeer in to Jerusalem, in the solempne dai of pask.
੪੧ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਪਸਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
42 And whanne Jhesus was twelue yeer oold, thei wenten vp to Jerusalem, aftir the custom of the feeste dai.
੪੨ਜਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਦੀ ਰੀਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਗਏ।
43 And whanne the daies weren don, thei turneden ayen; and the child abood in Jerusalem, and his fadir and modir knewen it not.
੪੩ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਮੁੜਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਤਦ ਬਾਲਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
44 For thei gessynge that he hadde be in the felowschip, camen a daies iourney, and souyten hym among hise cosyns and hise knouleche.
੪੪ਪਰ ਇਹ ਸੋਚ ਕੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਾਫਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਦਾ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਭਿਆ।
45 And whanne thei founden hym not, thei turneden ayen in to Jerusalem, and souyten hym.
੪੫ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਲੱਭਾ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜੇ।
46 And it bifelle, that aftir the thridde dai thei founden hym in the temple, sittynge in the myddil of the doctours, herynge hem and axynge hem.
੪੬ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਤਿੰਨਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੈਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਪੁੱਛਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
47 And alle men that herden hym, wondriden on the prudence and the answeris of hym.
੪੭ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਅਤੇ ਸਵਾਲ-ਜ਼ਵਾਬ ਤੋਂ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਏ।
48 And thei seyn, and wondriden. And his modir seide to hym, Sone, what hast thou do to vs thus? Lo! thi fadir and Y sorewynge han souyte thee.
੪੮ਤਦ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ? ਵੇਖ ਅਸੀਂ ਫਿਕਰਮੰਦ ਹੋਏ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ।
49 And he seide to hem, What is it that ye souyten me? wisten ye not that in tho thingis that ben of my fadir, it behoueth me to be?
੪੯ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਸੀ? ਕੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਾਂ?
50 And thei vndurstoden not the word, which he spak to hem.
੫੦ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੀ, ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝਿਆ।
51 And he cam doun with hem, and cam to Nazareth, and was suget to hem. And his moder kepte togidir alle these wordis, and bare hem in hir herte.
੫੧ਤਦ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਸਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਰਿਹਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਿਆ।
52 And Jhesus profitide in wisdom, age, and grace, anentis God and men.
੫੨ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਬੁੱਧ, ਕੱਦ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਧਦਾ ਗਿਆ।
