Luke 19
1 And Jhesus `goynge yn, walkide thorou Jericho.
੧ਯਿਸੂ ਯਰੀਹੋ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
2 And lo! a man, Sache bi name, and this was a prince of pupplicans, and he was riche.
੨ਵੇਖੋ ਜ਼ੱਕੀ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਚੁੰਗੀ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਧਨਵਾਨ ਸੀ।
3 And he souyte to se Jhesu, who he was, and he myyte not, for the puple, for he was litil in stature.
੩ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਭੀੜ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਵੇਖ ਨਾ ਸਕਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੱਦ ਮਧਰਾ ਸੀ।
4 And he ran bifore, and stiyede in to a sicomoure tree, to se hym; for he was to passe fro thennus.
੪ਸੋ ਉਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਗੁੱਲਰ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਸਕੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਸੀ।
5 And Jhesus biheld vp, whanne he cam to the place, and saiy hym, and seide to hym, Sache, haste thee, and come doun, for to dai Y mot dwelle in thin hous.
੫ਜਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਸ ਜਗਾ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਜ਼ੱਕੀ ਛੇਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਤਰ ਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਠਹਿਰਣਾ ਹੈ।
6 And he hiyynge cam doun, and ioiynge resseyuede hym.
੬ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਛੇਤੀ ਉੱਤਰ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਦਰ-ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਘਰ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ।
7 And whanne alle men sayn, thei grutchiden seiynge, For he hadde turned to a synful man.
੭ਤਾਂ ਸਭ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕੁੜ੍ਹਨ ਲੱਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲੇ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਪਾਪੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਜਾ ਠਹਿਰਿਆ ਹੈ।
8 But Sache stood, and seide to the Lord, Lo! Lord, Y yyue the half of my good to pore men; and if Y haue ony thing defraudid ony man, Y yelde foure so myche.
੮ਤਦ ਜ਼ੱਕੀ ਨੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਧੀ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਧੋਖੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਚਾਰ ਗੁਣਾ ਮੋੜ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
9 Jhesus seith to hym, For to dai heelthe is maad to this hous, for that he is Abrahams sone;
੯ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਅੱਜ ਇਸ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਆਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ।
10 for mannus sone cam to seke, and make saaf that thing that perischide.
੧੦ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਗੁਆਚੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਣ ਅਤੇ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
11 Whanne thei herden these thingis, he addide, and seide a parable, for that he was nyy Jerusalem, `and for thei gessiden, that anoon the kyngdom of God schulde be schewid.
੧੧ਜਦ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਇੱਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਮਝੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਹੁਣੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
12 Therfor he seide, A worthi man wente in to a fer cuntre, to take to hym a kyngdom, and to turne ayen.
੧੨ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਅਮੀਰ ਦੂਰ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਆਵੇ।
13 And whanne hise ten seruauntis weren clepid, he yaf to hem ten besauntis; and seide to hem, Chaffare ye, til Y come.
੧੩ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਸ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਸ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਨਾ ਆਵਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੁਪਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰੋ।
14 But hise citeseyns hatiden hym, and senten a messanger aftir hym, and seiden, We wolen not, that he regne on vs.
੧੪ਪਰ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇ।
15 And it was don, that he turnede ayen, whan he hadde take the kyngdom; and he comaundide hise seruauntis to be clepid, to whiche he hadde yyue monei, to wite, hou myche ech hadde wonne bi chaffaryng.
੧੫ਇਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ ਬੁਲਾਵਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
16 And the firste cam, and seide, Lord, thi besaunt hath wonne ten besauntis.
੧੬ਤਦ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਨੇ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਦਸ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਕਮਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
17 He seide to hym, Wel be, thou good seruaunt; for in litil thing thou hast be trewe, thou schalt be hauynge power on ten citees.
੧੭ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼! ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਦਸਾਂ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਰੱਖ।
18 And the tother cam, and seide, Lord, thi besaunt hath maad fyue besauntis.
੧੮ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੇ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀ, ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਪੰਜ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀਆਂ ਹੋਰ ਕਮਾਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
19 And to this he seide, And be thou on fyue citees.
੧੯ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਰੱਖ।
20 And the thridde cam, and seide, Lord, lo! thi besaunt, that Y hadde, put vp in a sudarie.
੨੦ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੇ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਰੁਮਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ।
21 For Y dredde thee, for thou art `a sterne man; thou takist awey that that thou settidist not, and thou repist that that thou hast not sowun.
੨੧ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਹੋ। ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਚੁੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਵੱਢਦੇ ਹੋ।
22 He seith to hym, Wickid seruaunt, of thi mouth Y deme thee. Wistist thou, that Y am `a sterne man, takynge awei that thing that Y settide not, and repyng ethat thing that Y sewe not?
੨੨ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਨੌਕਰ! ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਚੁੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੱਢਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
23 and whi hast thou not youun my money to the bord, and Y comynge schulde haue axid it with vsuris?
੨੩ਫੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਰੁਪਏ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਰੱਖੇ, ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਜ ਸਮੇਤ ਵਸੂਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ?
24 And he seide to men stondynge nyy, Take ye awei fro hym the besaunt, and yyue ye to hym that hath ten beyauntis:
੨੪ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ ਆਖਿਆ, ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀ ਉਸ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦਾਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਲੈ ਲਓ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਦਸ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਉ।
25 And thei seiden to hym, Lord, he hath ten besauntis.
੨੫ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਦਸ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
26 And Y seie to you, to ech man that hath, it schal be youun, and he schal encreese; but fro him that hath not, also that thing that he hath, schal be takun of hym.
੨੬ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲ ਕੁਝ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਜੋ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
27 Netheles brynge ye hidur tho myn enemyes, that wolden not that Y regnede on hem, and sle ye bifor me.
੨੭ਮੇਰੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਾਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਲਿਆਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੋ!
28 And whanne these thingis weren seid, he wente bifore, and yede vp to Jerusalem.
੨੮ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਂਦਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ-ਅੱਗੇ ਤੁਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
29 And it was don, whanne Jhesus cam nyy to Bethfage and Betanye, at the mount, that is clepid of Olyuete, he sente hise twei disciplis, and seide,
੨੯ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਪਹਾੜ ਕੋਲ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬੈਤਫ਼ਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤਅਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੋ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ
30 Go ye in to the castel, that is ayens you; in to which as ye entren, ye schulen fynde a colt of an asse tied, on which neuer man sat; vntye ye hym, and brynge ye to me.
੩੦ਕਿ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਗਧੀ ਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖੋਗੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਸਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਲਿਆਓ।
31 And if ony man axe you, whi ye vntien, thus ye schulen seie to hym, For the Lord desirith his werk.
੩੧ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦੇ ਹੋ? ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਆਖਣਾ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।
32 And thei that weren sent, wenten forth, and fonden as he seide to hem, a colt stondynge.
੩੨ਸੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
33 And whanne thei vntieden the colt, the lordis of hym seiden to hem, What vntien ye the colt?
੩੩ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਸ ਗਧੀ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦੇ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦੇ ਹੋ?
34 And thei seiden, For the Lord hath nede to hym.
੩੪ਫੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।
35 And thei ledden hym to Jhesu; and thei castynge her clothis on the colt, setten Jhesu on hym.
੩੫ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਗਧੀ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਤੇ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਉੱਪਰ ਬਿਠਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
36 And whanne he wente, thei strowiden her clothis in the weie.
੩੬ਜਿਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਲੋਕੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਛਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
37 And whanne he cam nyy to the comyng doun of the mount of Olyuete, al the puple that cam doun bygunnen to ioye, and to herie God with greet vois on alle the vertues, that thei hadden sayn,
੩੭ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਦੀ ਉਤਰਾਈ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਟੋਲੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਚਮਤਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖੇ ਸਨ, ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੀ
38 and seiden, Blessid be the king, that cometh in the name of the Lord; pees in heuene, and glorie in hiye thingis.
੩੮ਕਿ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਉਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ! ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੋਵੇ!
39 And sum of the Farisees of the puple seiden to hym, Maister, blame thi disciplis.
੩੯ਤਦ ਭੀੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿੰਨਿਆਂ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰਾ!
40 And he seide to hem, Y seie to you, for if these ben stille, stoonus schulen crye.
੪੦ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਇਹ ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰ ਜਾਣ ਤਾਂ ਪੱਥਰ ਬੋਲ ਉੱਠਣਗੇ!
41 And whanne he neiyede, `he seiy the citee,
੪੧ਜਦ ਉਹ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੋਇਆ
42 and wepte on it, and seide, For if thou haddist knowun, thou schuldist wepe also; for in this dai the thingis ben in pees to thee, but now thei ben hid fro thin iyen.
੪੨ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
43 But daies schulen come in thee, and thin enemyes schulen enuyroun thee with a pale, and thei schulen go aboute thee, and make thee streit on alle sidis,
੪੩ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਉਣਗੇ ਜਦ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲੈਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰੋਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਬਣਗੇ,
44 and caste thee doun to the erthe, and thi sones that ben in thee; and thei schulen not leeue in thee a stoon on a stoon, for thou hast not knowun the tyme of thi visitacioun.
੪੪ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਟਕਾ ਦੇਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਥਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਨਾ ਛੱਡਣਗੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ।
45 And he entride in to the temple, and bigan to caste out men sellynge ther inne and biynge,
੪੫ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਹੈਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੇਚਦੇ ਸਨ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਣ ਲੱਗਾ।
46 and seide to hem, It is writun, That myn hous is an hous of preyer, but ye han maad it a den of theues.
੪੬ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਸਦਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਡਾਕੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਅੱਡਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
47 And he was techynge euerydai in the temple. And the princis of prestis, and the scribis, and the princis of the puple souyten to lese hym;
੪੭ਉਹ ਹੈਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ।
48 and thei founden not, what thei schulden do to hym, for al the puple was ocupied, and herde hym.
੪੮ਪਰ ਇਹ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਨਾ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੀਨ ਸਨ।
