Leviticus 5
1 If a soule synneth, and hereth the vois of a swerere, and is witnesse, `for ether he siy, ether `is witynge, if he schewith not, he schal bere his synne.
| ונפש כי תחטא ושמעה קול אלה והוא עד או ראה או ידע אם לוא יגיד ונשא עונו׃ |
2 A persone that touchith ony vnclene thing, ether which is slayn of a beeste, ether is deed bi it silf, ether touchith ony other crepynge beeste, and foryetith his vnclennesse, he is gilti, and trespassith.
| או נפש אשר תגע בכל דבר טמא או בנבלת חיה טמאה או בנבלת בהמה טמאה או בנבלת שרץ טמא ונעלם ממנו והוא טמא ואשם׃ |
3 And if he touchith ony thing of the vnclennesse of man, bi al the vnclennesse bi which he is wont to be defoulid, and he foryetith, and knowith afterward, he schal be suget to trespas.
| או כי יגע בטמאת אדם לכל טמאתו אשר יטמא בה ונעלם ממנו והוא ידע ואשם׃ |
4 A soule that swerith, and bryngith forth with hise lippis, that it schulde do ether yuel, ether wel, and doith not, and confermeth the same thing with an ooth, ethir with a word, and foryetith, and aftirward vndirstondith his trespas, do it penaunce for synne,
| או נפש כי תשבע לבטא בשפתים להרע או להיטיב לכל אשר יבטא האדם בשבעה ונעלם ממנו והוא ידע ואשם לאחת מאלה׃ |
5 and offre it of the flockis a femal lomb, ethir a goet;
| והיה כי יאשם לאחת מאלה והתודה אשר חטא עליה׃ |
6 and the preest schal preie for hym, and for his synne.
| והביא את אשמו ליהוה על חטאתו אשר חטא נקבה מן הצאן כשבה או שעירת עזים לחטאת וכפר עליו הכהן מחטאתו׃ |
7 But if he may not offre a beeste, offre he twei turtlis, ethir `briddis of culuers to the Lord, oon for synne, and the tother in to brent sacrifice.
| ואם לא תגיע ידו די שה והביא את אשמו אשר חטא שתי תרים או שני בני יונה ליהוה אחד לחטאת ואחד לעלה׃ |
8 And he schal yyue tho to the preest, which schal offre the firste for synne, and schal folde ayen the heed therof to the wengis, so that it cleue to the necke, and be not `brokyn outirli.
| והביא אתם אל הכהן והקריב את אשר לחטאת ראשונה ומלק את ראשו ממול ערפו ולא יבדיל׃ |
9 And the preest schal sprynge the wal of the auter, of the blood therof; sotheli what euer `is residue, he schal make to droppe doun at the `foundement of the auter, for it is for synne.
| והזה מדם החטאת על קיר המזבח והנשאר בדם ימצה אל יסוד המזבח חטאת הוא׃ |
10 Sotheli he schal brenne the tother brid in to brent sacrifice, as it is wont to be doon; and the preest schal preie for hym, and for his synne, and it schal be foryouun to hym.
| ואת השני יעשה עלה כמשפט וכפר עליו הכהן מחטאתו אשר חטא ונסלח לו׃ |
11 That if his hond mai not offre twei turtlis, ethir twei `briddis of culueris, he schal offre for his synne the tenthe part of ephi of wheete flour; he schal not putte oile `in to it, nether he schal putte ony thing of encense, for it is for synne.
| ואם לא תשיג ידו לשתי תרים או לשני בני יונה והביא את קרבנו אשר חטא עשירת האפה סלת לחטאת לא ישים עליה שמן ולא יתן עליה לבנה כי חטאת היא׃ |
12 And he schal yyue it to the preest, which preest schal take vp an handful therof, and schal brenne on the auter, in to mynde of hym that offeride,
| והביאה אל הכהן וקמץ הכהן ממנה מלוא קמצו את אזכרתה והקטיר המזבחה על אשי יהוה חטאת הוא׃ |
13 and the preest schal preie for hym, and schal clense; forsothe he schal have the tother part in yifte.
| וכפר עליו הכהן על חטאתו אשר חטא מאחת מאלה ונסלח לו והיתה לכהן כמנחה׃ |
14 And the Lord spak to Moises,
| וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר׃ |
15 and seide, If a soule brekith cerymonyes bi errour, and synneth in these thingis that ben halewid to the Lord, it schal offre for his trespas a ram without wem of the flockis, that may be bouyt for twey siclis, bi the weiyte of the seyntuarie.
| נפש כי תמעל מעל וחטאה בשגגה מקדשי יהוה והביא את אשמו ליהוה איל תמים מן הצאן בערכך כסף שקלים בשקל הקדש לאשם׃ |
16 And he schal restore that harm that he dide, and he schal putte the fyuethe part aboue, and schal yyue to the preest, which preest schal preye for hym, and offre the ram, and it schal be foryouun to hym.
| ואת אשר חטא מן הקדש ישלם ואת חמישתו יוסף עליו ונתן אתו לכהן והכהן יכפר עליו באיל האשם ונסלח לו׃ |
17 A soule that synneth bi ignoraunce, and doith oon of these thingis that ben forbodun in the lawe of the Lord, and is gilti of synne, and vndirstondith his wickidnesse,
| ואם נפש כי תחטא ועשתה אחת מכל מצות יהוה אשר לא תעשינה ולא ידע ואשם ונשא עונו׃ |
18 it schal offre to the preest a ram without wem of the flockis, bi the mesure of estymacioun of synne; and the preest schal preye for hym, for he dide vnwytynge, and it schal be foryouun to him,
| והביא איל תמים מן הצאן בערכך לאשם אל הכהן וכפר עליו הכהן על שגגתו אשר שגג והוא לא ידע ונסלח לו׃ |
19 for by errour he trespasside ayens the Lord.
| אשם הוא אשם אשם ליהוה׃ |
