Leviticus 22
1 And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide, Speke thou to Aaron and to hise sones,
Le Seigneur parla aussi à Moïse, disant:
2 that thei be war of these thingis of the sones of Israel, whiche thingis ben halewid; and that they defoule not the name of thingis halewid to me, whiche thingis thei offren; Y am the Lord.
Parle à Aaron et à ses fils, afin qu’ils s’abstiennent de ce qui a été consacré par les enfants d’Israël, et qu’ils ne souillent pas le nom des choses qui me sont consacrées, qu’ils offrent eux-mêmes. Je suis le Seigneur.
3 Seie thou to hem, and to the aftir comeris of hem, Ech man of youre kynrede, `which man neiyeth to tho thingis that ben halewid, and whiche thingis the sones of Israel offreden to the Lord, in `which man is vnclennesse, schal perische bifor the Lord; Y am the Lord.
Dis à eux et à leurs descendants: Tout homme de votre race qui s’approchera des choses qui auront été consacrées et que les enfants d’Israël auront offertes au Seigneur, mais dans lequel est une impureté, périra devant le Seigneur. C’est moi qui suis le Seigneur.
4 A man of the seed of Aaron, `which man is leprouse, ethir suffrith `fletyng out of seed, schal not ete of these thingis, that ben halewid to me, til he be heelid. He that touchith an vncleene thing on a deed bodi, and fro whom the seed as of leccherie goith out, and which touchith a crepynge beeste,
Un homme de la race d’Aaron qui sera lépreux ou qui aura la gonorrhée ne mangera point des choses qui m’auront été consacrées, jusqu’à ce qu’il soit guéri. Celui qui touchera un homme impur à cause d’un mort, et à qui arrivera comme il arrive dans l’usage du mariage,
5 and what euer vncleene thing, whos touchyng is foul,
Et qui touchera un reptile et quoi que ce soit d’impur dont le contact souille,
6 schal be vncleene `til to euentid, and he schal not ete these thingis, that ben halewid to me; but whanne he hath waische his fleisch in watir,
Sera impur jusqu’au soir, et ne mangera point des choses qui auront été sanctifiées; mais lorsqu’il aura lavé sa chair dans l’eau,
7 and the sunne hath go doun, thanne he schal be clensid, and schal ete halewid thingis, for it is his mete.
Et que le soleil sera couché, alors purifié, il mangera des choses sanctifiées, parce que c’est sa nourriture.
8 He schal not ete a thing deed bi it silf, and takun of a beeste, nethir he schal be defoulid in tho; Y am the Lord.
Ils ne mangeront point d’un animal crevé, et d’un animal pris par une bête sauvage, et ils ne seront point souillés par eux. C’est moi qui suis le Seigneur.
9 Thei schulen kepe myn heestis, that thei be not suget to synne, and die in the seyntuarye, whanne thei han defoulid it; Y am the Lord that halewe you.
Qu’ils gardent mes préceptes, afin qu’ils ne soient point soumis au péché, et qu’ils ne lorsqu’ils l’auront souillé. Je suis le Seigneur qui les sanctifie.
10 Ech alien schal not ete of thingis halewid; the hyne which is a straunger, and the hirid man of the preest, schulen not ete of tho. Sotheli these seruauntis,
Nul étranger ne mangera des choses sanctifiées, celui qui séjourne chez un prêtre et un mercenaire n’en mangeront point.
11 whom the preest hath bouyt, and which is a borun seruaunt of his hows, schulen ete of tho.
Mais celui que le prêtre aura acheté, et le serviteur qui sera né dans sa maison, ceux-là en mangeront.
12 If the `douyter of the preest is weddid to ony of the puple, sche schal not ete of these thingis that ben halewid, and of the firste fruytis;
Si la fille d’un prêtre épouse un homme du peuple, quel qu’il soit, elle ne mangera point des choses qui auront été sanctifiées, ni des prémices.
13 sotheli if sche is a widewe, ether forsakun, and turneth ayen with out fre children to `the hows of hir fadir, sche schal be susteyned bi the metis of hir fadir, as a damysel was wont; ech alien hath not power to ete of tho.
Mais si, veuve ou répudiée et sans enfants, elle retourne à la maison de son père, elle sera nourrie de la nourriture de son père, comme elle avait accoutumé étant jeune fille. Aucun étranger n’a le droit d’en manger.
14 He that etith bi ignoraunce of halewid thingis, schal adde the fyuethe part with that that he eet, and `schal yyue to the preest in seyntuarie,
Celui qui aura mangé des choses sanctifiées par ignorance, ajoutera la cinquième partie à ce qu’il a mangé, et il la donnera au prêtre pour le sanctuaire.
15 and thei schulen not defoule the halewid thingis of the sones of Israel, whiche thei offren to the Lord,
Ils ne profaneront point les choses sanctifiées des enfants d’Israël, que ceux-ci offrent au Seigneur:
16 lest perauenture thei suffren the wickidnesse of her trespas, whanne thei han ete halewid thingis; Y am the Lord that `halewe hem.
De peur qu’ils ne portent l’iniquité de leur délit, lorsqu’ils auront mangé les choses sanctifiées. Je suis le Seigneur qui les sanctifie.
17 The Lord spak to Moises, and seide,
Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, disant:
18 Speke thou to Aaron and to hise sones, and to alle the sones of Israel, and thou schalt seie to hem, A man of the hous of Israel and of comelyngis that dwellen at hem, which offrith his offryng to the Lord, and ethir paieth avowis, ethir offrith bi his fre wille, what euer thing he offrith in to brent sacrifice of the Lord, that it be offrid bi you,
Parle à Aaron, à ses fils et à tous les enfants d’Israël, et tu leur diras: Un homme de la maison d’Israël, et d’entre les étrangers qui habitent chez vous qui présente son oblation, ou acquittant des vœux, ou faisant une offrande spontanée, quoi que ce soit qu’il présente pour l’holocauste du Seigneur,
19 it schal be a male without wem, of oxen, and of scheep, and of geet; if it hath a wem,
Afin que ce soit présenté par vous, ce sera un mâle sans tache d’entre les bœufs, les brebis et les chèvres.
20 ye schulen not offre, nether it schal be acceptable.
S’il a une tache, vous ne l’offrirez point, et il ne sera point acceptable.
21 A man that offrith a sacrifice of pesyble thingis to the Lord, and ethir paieth auowis, ethir offrith bi fre wille, as wel of oxun as of scheep, he schal offre a beeste without wem, that it be acceptable; ech wem schal not be ther ynne.
Un homme qui offre une victime de sacrifices pacifiques au Seigneur, ou acquittant des vœux, ou faisant une offrande spontanée, tant de bœufs que de brebis, offrira un animal sans tache, afin qu’il soit acceptable: il n’y aura aucune tache en lui.
22 If it is blynd, if it is brokun, if it hath a scar, if it hath whelkis, ether scabbe, ethir drie scabbe, ye schulen not offre tho beestis to the Lord, nether ye schulen brenne of tho beestis on the auter of the Lord.
S’il est aveugle, s’il a un membre rompu, ou une cicatrice, ou des pustules, ou la gale, ou le farcin: vous n’offrirez pas ces animaux au Seigneur, et vous n’en brûlerez point sur l’autel du Seigneur.
23 A man may offre wilfuli an oxe and scheep, whanne the eere and tail ben kit of; but avow may not be paied of these beestis.
Tu pourras offrir volontairement un bœuf et une brebis, une oreille et la queue ayant été coupées; mais un vœu ne peut être acquitté par leur moyen.
24 Ye schulen not offre to the Lord ony beeste, whose priuy membris ben brokun, ethir brisid, ether kit, and takun awey, and outerli ye schulen not do these thingis in youre lond.
Vous n’offrirez au Seigneur aucun animal qui a l’organe générateur ou froissé, ou foulé, ou coupé, ou arraché; et en votre pays ne faites absolument point cela.
25 Of `the hond of an alien ye schulen not offre looues to youre God, and what euer other thing he wole yyue, for alle thingis ben corrupt and defoulid; ye schulen not resseyue tho.
De la main de l’étranger vous n’offrirez point des pains à votre Dieu, ni toute autre chose qu’il voudra donner, parce que toutes ces choses sont corrompues et souillées: vous ne les recevrez point.
26 And the Lord spak to Moises,
Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, disant:
27 and seide, Whanne an oxe, scheep and goet ben brouyt forth `of the modris wombe, in seuene daies tho schulen be vnder `the tete of her modir; sotheli in the eiyte dai, and fro thennus forth, tho moun be offrid to the Lord,
Un bœuf, une brebis et une chèvre, lorsqu’ils seront nés, seront sept jours sous la mamelle de leur mère; mais au huitième jour et après, ils pourront être offerts au Seigneur.
28 whether thilke is a cow, whether `thilke is a scheep; tho schulen not be offrid in o dai with her fruytis.
Soit cette vache, soit cette brebis, elles ne seront pas immolées en un seul jour avec leurs petits.
29 If ye offren to the Lord a sacrifice for the doyng of thankyngis, that it mai be plesaunt,
Si vous immolez une hostie pour action de grâces au Seigneur, afin qu’il puisse se laisser fléchir,
30 ye schulen ete it in the same dai in which it is offrid; ony thing schal not leeue in the morewtid of the tother dai; Y am the Lord.
Vous la mangerez le même jour, il n’en demeurera rien pour le matin du jour suivant. Je suis le Seigneur.
31 Kepe ye myn heestis, and do ye tho; Y am the Lord.
Gardez mes commandements et exécutez-les. Je suis le Seigneur.
32 Defoule ye not myn hooli name, that Y be halewid in the myddis of the sones of Israel; Y am the Lord, that halewe you, and ledde you out of the lond of Egipt,
Ne souillez point mon nom saint, afin que je sois sanctifié au milieu des enfants d’Israël. Je suis le Seigneur qui vous sanctifie,
33 that Y schulde be to you in to God; Y am the Lord.
Et qui vous ai retirés de la terre d’Egypte afin que je fusse votre Dieu. Je suis le Seigneur.
