Leviticus 21
1 And the Lord seide to Moyses, Speke thou to preestis, the sones of Aaron, and thou schalt seie to hem, A preest be not defoulid in the deed men of hise citeseyns,
Und der Herr sprach zu Moses: "Sprich zu den Priestern, zu den Söhnen Aarons, sage ihnen: 'An keiner Leiche aus seiner Verwandtschaft darf er sich unrein machen.
2 no but oneli in kynesmen and niy of blood, that is, on fadir and modir, and sone and douyter,
Nur an den nächsten Blutsverwandten, an seiner Mutter, seinem Vater, seinem Sohn, seiner Tochter, seinem Bruder
3 and brother and sister, virgyn, which is not weddid to man;
und an seiner jungfräulichen Schwester, die ihm nahesteht und die noch keines Mannes ist, darf er sich unrein machen.
4 but nether he schal be defoulid in the prince of his puple.
Er darf sich nicht als Gatte an seinen anderen Verwandten unrein machen.
5 Preestis schulen not schaue the heed, nether beerd, nether thei schulen make keruyngis in her fleischis; thei schulen be hooli to her God,
Sie sollen auf ihrem Kopf keine Glatze machen, nicht ihres Bartes Rand scheren und in ihr Fleisch keine Einschnitte machen.
6 and thei schulen not defoule his name; for thei offren encense of the Lord, and the looues of her God, and therfore thei schulen be hooli.
Heilig seien sie ihrem Gott und sie sollen ihres Gottes Namen nicht entweihen! Sie bringen ja die Mähler für den Herrn, die Speise ihres Gottes, dar. Deswegen seien sie heilig!
7 A preest schal not wedde a wijf a corrupt womman, and a `foul hoore, nether he schal wedde `hir that is forsakun of the hosebonde, for he is halewid to his God,
Sie dürfen keine Dirne noch eine Vergewaltigte heiraten, noch ein von seinem Manne verstoßenes Weib. Denn heilig ist er seinem Gott.
8 and offrith the looues of settyng forth; therfor be he hooly, for `Y am the hooli Lord that halewith you.
Heilig halte ihn! Er bringt deines Gottes Speise dar. Heilig sei er dir! Denn heilig bin ich, der Herr, der euch heiligt.
9 If the `doutir of a preest is takun in defoulyng of virgynite, and defoulith the name of hir fadir, sche schal be brent in flawmes.
Entweiht sich eine Priestertochter durch Hurerei, so entweiht sie ihren Vater. Im Feuer werde sie verbrannt!
10 The bischop, that is the moost preest among hise britheren, on whose heed the oile of anoyntyng is sched, and whose hondis ben sacrid in preesthod, and he is clothid in hooli clothis, schal not diskyuere his heed, he schal not tere hise clothis,
Der Hohepriester unter seinen Brüdern, auf dessen Haupt das Salböl ausgegossen und der eingekleidet ward durch Anlegen der Gewänder, lasse nie sein Haupthaar offen fliegen! Nicht soll er seine Kleider zerreißen!
11 and outirli he schal not entre to ony deed man; and he schal not be defoulid on his fadir and modir,
Er soll zu keiner Leiche gehen! Selbst nicht des Vaters oder der Mutter wegen darf er sich unrein machen.
12 nether he schal go out of hooli thingis, lest he defoule the seyntuarie of the Lord, for the oile of hooli anoyntyng of his God is on hym; Y am the Lord.
Er soll nicht aus dem Heiligtum gehen und nicht seines Gottes Heiligtum entweihen! Die Weihe durch seines Gottes Ölsalbung ruht auf ihm. Ich bin der Herr.
13 He schal wedde a wijf virgyn;
Er soll eine Jungfrau heiraten!
14 he schal not take a widewe, and forsakun, and a foul womman, and hoore, but a damesele of his puple;
Er soll keine Witwe nehmen, noch Verstoßene, noch Vergewaltigte, noch Dirne, sondern eine Jungfrau aus der Verwandtschaft,
15 medle he not the generacioun of his kyn to the comyn puple of his folk, for Y am the Lord, that `halewe hym.
daß er nicht durch seine Verwandten seinen Stamm entweihe! Denn ich, der Herr, bin es, der ihn heiligt.'"
16 And the Lord spak to Moyses,
Und der Herr sprach zu Moses also:
17 and seide, Speke thou to Aaron; a man of thi seed, bi meynes, that hath a wem, schal not offre breed to his God,
"Sprich so zu Aaron: 'Hat einer aus deinem Stamme ein Gebrest, dann darf er nicht herantreten, Speise seinem Gott darzubringen.
18 nethir schal neiy to his seruyce;
Denn niemand darf herantreten, der ein Gebrest hat, kein Blinder oder Lahmer oder Entstellter oder Überlanger,
19 if he is blind; if he is crokid; if he is ether of litil, ether of greet, and wrong nose; if he is `of brokun foot, ethir hond;
oder wer einen Beinbruch hat oder einen Armbruch,
20 if he hath a botche; ether if he is blereiyed; if he hath whijt colour in the iye, that lettith the siyt; if he hath contynuel scabbe; if he hath a drye scabbe in the bodi; ethir `is brokun `in the pryuy membris.
oder ein Buckliger oder ein Zwerg oder ein Fleckäugiger oder ein Krätziger oder ein Grindiger oder einer mit zerriebenen Hoden.
21 Ech man of the seed of Aaron preest, which man hath a wem, schal not neiye to offre sacrifices to the Lord, nether `to offre looues to his God;
Kein Mann, der ein Gebrest hat, vom Stamm des Priesters Aaron darf herantreten, die Mähler für den Herrn darzubringen. Hat er ein Gebrest, dann darf er nicht herantreten, die Speise seines Gottes darzubringen.
22 netheles he schal ete the looues that ben offrid in the seyntuarie,
Die Speise seines Gottes, von den hochheiligen und selbstverständlich von den heiligen Gaben, darf er essen.
23 so oneli that he entre not with ynne the veil; he schal not neiye to the auter, for he hath a wem, and he schal not defoule my seyntuarie; Y am the Lord that halewe hem.
Nur soll er nicht zum Vorhang kommen und sich nicht dem Altare nähern, weil er ein Gebrest hat! Sonst entweiht er meine Heiligtümer. Denn ich, der Herr, bin es, der sie heiligt.'"
24 Therfor Moises spak to Aaron, and to hise sones, and to al Israel, alle thingis that weren comaundid to hym.
Und Moses redete so zu Aaron und seinen Söhnen und zu allen Söhnen Israels.
