Leviticus 18
1 And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide, Speke thou to the sones of Israel,
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo Môi-se:
2 and thou schalt seie to hem, Y am youre Lord God;
“Hãy nói với người Ít-ra-ên: Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời các ngươi.
3 ye schulen not do by the custom of the lond of Egipt, in which ye dwelliden; ye schulen not do bi the custom of the cuntrei of Canaan, `to which Y schal brynge you yn, nethir ye schulen go in the lawful thingis of hem.
Vậy, đừng bắt chước nếp sống của người Ai Cập, nơi các ngươi từ đó ra đi. Cũng đừng theo lối sống của người Ca-na-an, nơi Ta sẽ đem các ngươi vào. Đừng để cho tập tục của họ ràng buộc mình.
4 Ye schulen do my domes, and ye schulen kepe myn heestis, and ye schulen go in tho; Y am youre Lord God.
Nhưng các ngươi phải tuân theo luật lệ Ta, làm theo mọi điều Ta dạy bảo, vì Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời các ngươi.
5 Kepe ye my lawis and domes, whiche a man `schal do, and schal lyue in tho; Y am youre Lord God.
Hãy giữ luật lệ Ta, người nào tuân hành luật pháp Ta thì sống. Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu.
6 Ech man schal not neiy to the nyy womman of his blood, that he schewe `the filthe of hir; Y am the Lord.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với một người bà con gần. Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu.
7 Thou schalt not diskyuere the filthe of thi fadir and the filthe of thi modir; sche is thi modir, thou schalt not schewe hir filthe.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với cha mình, cũng không ai được quan hệ tình dục với mẹ mình.
8 Thou schalt not vnhile the filthe of the wijf of thi fadir, for it is the filthe of thi fadir.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với vợ của cha mình.
9 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi sistir, of fadir `ether of modir, which sister is gendrid at hoome ether without forth.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với chị em ruột, chị em cùng cha khác mẹ hay cùng mẹ khác cha, dù các chị em ấy được sinh ra trong nhà mình hay nhà khác.
10 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the douyter of thi sone, ether of neece of thi douyter, for it is thi filthe.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với cháu gái mình, dù cháu nội hay cháu ngoại.
11 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the douyter of the wijf of thi fadir, which sche childide to thi fadir, and is thi sistir.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với con riêng của vợ của cha mình.
12 Thou schalt not opene the filthe of the `sister of thi fadir, for sche is the fleisch of thi fadir.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với cô mình, vì là chị em của cha mình.
13 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the sistir of thi modir, for sche is the fleisch of thi modir.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với dì mình, vì là chị em của mẹ mình.
14 Thou schalt not shewe the filthe of the brothir of thi fadir, nethir thou schalt neiye to his wijf, which is ioyned to thee bi affinyte.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với bác gái hay thím mình, vì là vợ của chú bác mình.
15 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi sones wijf, for sche is the wijf of thi sone, nether thou schalt diskiuere hir schenschip; and no man take his brotheris wijf.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với con dâu mình, vì là vợ của con trai mình.
16 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of `the wijf of thi brother, for it is the filthe of thi brothir.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với chị dâu hay em dâu mình, vì là vợ của anh em mình.
17 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi wijf, and of hir douyter; thou schalt not take the douytir of hir sone, and the douytir of hir douyter, that thou schewe hir schenschip; thei ben the fleisch of hir, and siche letcherie is incest.
Không ai được quan hệ tình dục với một người đàn bà luôn với con gái hoặc cháu gái của người ấy, dù cháu nội hay cháu ngoại. Họ là cốt nhục của nhau. Đó là một điều ác.
18 Thou schalt not take `the sister of thi wijf, in to concubynage of hir, nethir thou schalt schewe `the filthe of hir, while thi wijf lyueth yit.
Không ai được lấy chị em của vợ khi vợ còn sống. Họ sẽ trở nên cừu địch.
19 Thou schalt not neiye to a womman that suffrith rennyng of blood of monethe, nethir thou schalt schewe hir filthe.
Không ai được giao hợp với một người đàn bà trong lúc không sạch vì có kinh nguyệt.
20 Thou schalt not do letcherie with `the wijf of thi neiybore, nether thou schalt be defoulid with medlyng of seed.
Không ai được giao hợp với vợ người khác, vì làm cho mình ô uế với nàng.
21 Thou schalt not yyue of thi seed, that it be offrid to the idol Moloch, nether thou schalt defoule the name of thi God; Y am the Lord.
Không được dâng con cái mình trên lửa cho Mô-lóc, làm ô Danh Đức Chúa Trời mình. Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu.
22 Thou schalt not be medlid with a man bi letcherie of womman, for it is abhomynacioun.
Không được đồng tính luyến ái; đó là một tội đáng ghê tởm.
23 Thou schalt not do letcherie with ony beeste, nethir thou schalt be defoulid with it. A womman schal not ligge vnder a beeste, nether schal be medlid therwith, for it is greet synne.
Dù nam hay nữ, không ai được giao hợp với một con thú, làm cho mình ô uế với nó; đó là một điều tà ác.
24 Be ye not defoulid in alle these thingis, in whiche alle `folkis, ether hethen men, ben defoulid, whiche folkis Y schal caste out bifor youre siyt,
Vậy, không ai được phạm một trong các điều cấm đoán nói trên, làm ô uế mình. Đó là những điều các dân tộc khác phạm, họ làm ô uế mình, ô uế đất. Vì thế, Ta trừng phạt họ, đuổi họ ra khỏi đất mà họ đã làm ô uế trước mặt các ngươi.
25 of whiche the lond is defoulid, of which lond Y schal vysyte the grete synnes, that it spewe out hise dwellers.
Ngay cả đất cũng bị ô uế, nên Ta trừng phạt đất, và nó sẽ mửa mọi cư dân nó ra.
26 Kepe ye my lawful thingis and domes, that ye do not of alle these abhomynaciouns, as wel a man borun in the lond as a comelyng which is a pilgrym at you.
Các ngươi phải tuân giữ luật lệ Ta, không được làm một điều đáng tởm nào trong các điều trên. Luật này áp dụng cho cả người bản xứ lẫn ngoại kiều.
27 For the dwellers of the lond, that weren bifor you, diden alle these abhomynaciouns, and defouliden that lond.
Vì các dân tộc ở trên lãnh thổ này trước đây đã từng làm những điều ghê tởm đó.
28 Therfor be ye war, lest it caste out viliche also you in lijk manere, whanne ye han do lijk synnes, as it castide out vileche the folk, that was bifor you.
Nếu không, Ta sẽ trục xuất các ngươi ra khỏi lãnh thổ, như Ta đã trục xuất những dân tộc cư ngụ trong lãnh thổ trước các ngươi.
29 Ech man that doith ony thing of these abhomynaciouns, schal perische fro the myddis of his puple.
Ai phạm một trong các tội đáng ghê tởm này sẽ bị trục xuất khỏi cộng đồng dân chúng.
30 Kepe ye myn heestis; nyle ye do tho thingis, whiche thei that weren bifor you diden, and be ye not defoulid in tho; Y am youre Lord God.
Vậy, phải vâng lời Ta, không được làm một điều nào trong các thói đáng tởm của các dân tộc ấy mà làm ô uế mình, vì Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của các ngươi.”
