Leviticus 11

1 And the Lord spak to Moises and Aaron, and seide,

Și DOMNUL le-a vorbit lui Moise și lui Aaron, spunându-le:

2 Seie ye to the sones of Israel, Kepe ye alle thingis whiche Y wroot to you, that Y be youre God. These ben the beestis, whiche ye schulen ete, of alle lyuynge beestis of erthe;

Vorbește copiilor lui Israel, spunând: Acestea sunt animalele pe care să le mâncați dintre toate animalele de pe pământ.

3 ye schulen ete `al thing among beestis that hath a clee departid, and chewith code;

Orice desparte copita și este cu copită bifurcată și rumegă hrana, printre animale, pe acelea să le mâncați.

4 sotheli what euer thing chewith code, and hath a clee, but departith not it, as a camel and othere beestis doon, ye schulen not ete it, and ye schulen arette among vnclene thingis.

Totuși pe acestea să nu le mâncați dintre cele ce rumegă, sau dintre cele cu unghie despicată; cămila, pentru că rumegă hrana, dar nu desparte unghia; vă este necurată.

5 A cirogrille, which chewith code, and departith not the clee, is vnclene; and an hare,

Și iepurele de stâncă, deoarece rumegă hrana, dar nu desparte unghia; vă este necurat.

6 for also he chewith code, but departith not the clee;

Și iepurele de câmp, pentru că el rumegă hrana, dar nu desparte unghia; vă este necurat.

7 and a swiyn, that chewith not code, thouy he departith the clee.

Și porcul, deși are unghia despicată și este cu copită bifurcată, totuși el nu rumegă hrana; vă este necurat.

8 Ye schulen not ete the fleischis of these, nether ye schulen touche the deed bodies, for tho ben vnclene to you.

Din carnea lor să nu mâncați și trupul lor mort să nu îl atingeți; vă sunt necurate.

9 Also these thingis ben that ben gendrid in watris, and is leueful to ete;

Pe acestea să le mâncați din tot ce este în ape; orice are aripioare și solzi în ape, în mări și în râuri, pe acelea să le mâncați.

10 ye schulen ete al thing that hath fynnes and scalis, as wel in the see, as in floodis and stondynge watris; sotheli what euer thing of tho that ben moued and lyuen in watris, hath not fynnes and scalis, schal be abhominable, and wlatsum to you;

Și tot ce nu are aripioare și solzi în mări și în râuri, din tot ce mișcă în ape și din orice viețuitoare ce este în ape, acelea să vă fie o urâciune;

11 ye schulen not ete the fleischis of tho, and ye schulen eschewe the bodies deed bi hem silf.

Da, să vă fie o urâciune; să nu mâncați din carnea lor și trupurile lor moarte să vă fie o urâciune.

12 Alle thingis in watris that han not fynnes and scalis, schulen be pollutid,

Orice nu are aripioare nici solzi în ape, să vă fie o urâciune.

13 These thingis ben of foulis whiche ye schulen not ete, and schulen be eschewid of you; an egle, and a grippe, aliete, and a kyte, and a vultur by his kynde;

Și acestea sunt cele care să vă fie o urâciune printre păsări; să nu fie mâncate, sunt o urâciune; acvila și vulturul bărbos și vulturul pescar,

14 and al of `rauyns kynde bi his licnesse;

Și vulturul și uliul după felul său;

15 a strucioun,

Fiecare corb după felul său;

16 and nyyt crowe, a lare, and an hauke bi his kinde;

Și bufnița și șoimul de noapte și cucul și șoimul după felul său,

17 an owle, and dippere, and ibis;

Și cucuveaua și cormoranul și bufnița mare,

18 a swan and cormoraunt, and a pellican;

Și lebăda și pelicanul și vulturul egiptean,

19 a fawcun, a iay bi his kynde; a leepwynke, and a reremows.

Și barza, stârcul după felul său și nagâțul și liliacul.

20 Al thing of foulis that goith on foure feet, schal be abhomynable to you;

Toate zburătoarele care se târăsc, umblând pe toate patru picioarele, să vă fie o urâciune.

21 sotheli what euer thing goith on foure feet, but hath lengere hipis bihynde, bi whiche it skippith on the erthe, ye schulen ete;

Totuși pe acestea să le mâncați din fiecare lucru zburător care se târăște mergând pe toate patru picioarele, care au fluierele picioarelor deasupra labelor lor, ca să sară cu totul de pe pământ.

22 as is a bruke in his kynde, and acatus, and opymacus, and a locuste, alle bi her kynde.

Chiar pe acestea dintre ele să le mâncați: lăcusta după felul ei și lăcusta pleșuvă după felul ei și scarabeul după felul său și cosașul după felul său.

23 Forsothe what euer thing of briddis hath foure feet oneli, it schal be abhomynable to you;

Dar orice alt lucru zburător care se târăște, care are patru picioare, să vă fie o urâciune.

24 and who euer touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, schal be defoulid, and `schal be vnclene `til to euentid;

Și din cauza acestora voi veți fi necurați, oricine atinge trupul lor mort să fie necurat până seara.

25 and if it is nede, that he bere ony deed thing of these, he schal waische his clothis, and he schal be vnclene til to the goyng doun of the sunne.

Și oricine trebuie să poarte orice din trupul lor mort să își spele hainele și să fie necurat până seara.

26 Sotheli ech beeste that hath a clee, but departith not it, nether chewith code, schal be vnclene; and what euer thing touchith it, schal be defoulid.

Trupurile moarte ale fiecărui animal care desparte unghia și nu este cu copită bifurcată, nici nu rumegă mâncarea, vă sunt necurate, fiecare om ce le atinge să fie necurat.

27 That that goith on hondis, of alle beestis that gon on foure feet, schal be vnclene; he, that touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, schal be defoulid `til to euentid;

Și orice merge pe labele sale, printre toate felurile de viețuitoare care merg pe toate patru picioarele, acelea vă sunt necurate, oricine atinge trupul lor mort să fie necurat până seara.

28 and he, that berith siche deed bodies, schal waische hise clothis, and he schal be vnclene `til to euentid; for alle these thingis ben vnclene to you.

Și cel ce poartă trupul lor mort să își spele hainele și să fie necurat până seara, vă sunt necurate.

29 Also these thingis schulen be arettid among defoulid thingis, of these that ben moued on erthe; a wesele, and mows, and a cocodrille, `alle bi her kynde;

Acestea de asemenea vă vor fi necurate printre târâtoarele ce se târăsc pe pământ; nevăstuica și șoarecele și țestoasa după felul ei,

30 mygal, camelion, and stellio, and lacerta, and a maldewerp.

Și dihorul și cameleonul și șopârla și melcul și cârtița.

31 Alle these ben vnclene; he that touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, schal be vnclene `til to euentid;

Acestea vă sunt necurate printre toate cele ce se târăsc, oricine le atinge, după ce vor fi murit, să fie necurat până seara.

32 and that thing schal be defoulid, on which ony thing of her bodies deed bi hem silf fallith, as wel a vessel of tree, and a cloth, as skynnes `and heiris; and in what euer thing werk is maad, it schal be dippid in watir, and tho thingis schulen be defoulid `til to euentid, and so aftirward tho schulen be clensid.

Și orice lucru ce cade pe ele, după ce vor fi murit, să fie necurat; fie acesta orice vas de lemn, sau haină, sau piele, sau sac, orice vas în care se face ceva, să fie pus în apă și să fie necurat până seara; astfel să fie el curățat.

33 Sotheli a vessel of erthe, in which ony thing of these fallith with ynne, schal be defoulid, and therfor it schal be brokun.

Și fiecare vas de pământ, în care cade ceva din ele, orice este în ele să fie necurat; și să îl spargeți.

34 Ech mete, which ye schulen ete, schal be vnclene, if water is sched thereon; and ech fletynge thing, which is drunkun of ech vessel, `where ynne vnclene thingis bifelden, schal be vnclene;

Din toată mâncarea care este de mâncat, peste care vine o asemenea apă să fie necurată; și toată băutura care este de băut în orice astfel de vas să fie necurată.

35 and what euer thing of siche deed bodies bi hem silf felde theronne, it schal be vnclene, whether furneisis, ethir vessels of thre feet, tho schulen be destried, and schulen be vnclene.

Și orice lucru peste care cade orice parte din trupul lor mort să fie necurat; fie cuptor sau vatră pentru oale, să fie dărâmate, pentru că sunt necurate și să vă fie necurate.

36 Sotheli wellis and cisternes, and al the congregacioun of watris, schal be clene. He that touchith her bodi deed bi it silf, schal be defoulid.

Totuși o fântână sau groapă, în care este abundență de apă, să fie curată, dar ce atinge trupul lor mort să fie necurat.

37 If it fallith on seed, it schal not defoule the seed;

Și dacă ceva din trupul lor mort cade pe orice sămânță de semănat care este pentru a fi semănată, aceasta să fie curată.

38 sotheli if ony man schedith seed with watir, and aftirward the watir is touchid with deed bodies bi hem silf, it schal be defoulid anoon.

Dar dacă ceva apă este pusă peste sămânță și vreo parte din trupul lor mort cade acolo, să vă fie necurată.

39 If a beeste is deed, which it is leueful to you to ete, he that touchith the deed bodi therof schal be vnclene `til to euentid; and he that etith therof ony thing,

Și dacă vreun animal, din care voi puteți mânca, moare, cel ce atinge trupul lui mort să fie necurat până seara.

40 ethir berith, schal waische his clothis, and schal be vnclene `til to euentid.

Și cel ce mănâncă din trupul mort al acestuia să își spele hainele și să fie necurat până seara; de asemenea cel ce cară trupul mort al lui să-și spele hainele și să fie necurat până seara.

41 Al thing that crepith on erthe, schal be abhomynable, nether schal be takun in to mete.

Și fiecare târâtoare ce se târăște pe pământ să fie o urâciune; să nu fie mâncată.

42 `What euer thing goith on the brest and foure feet, and hath many feet, ethir drawun bi the erthe, ye schulen not ete, for it is abhomynable.

Orice merge pe pântece și orice merge pe toate patru picioarele, sau orice are mai multe picioare printre toate târâtoarele ce se târăsc pe pământ, pe acelea să nu le mâncați, pentru că sunt urâciune.

43 Nyle ye defoule youre soulis, nether touche ye ony thing of tho, lest ye ben vnclene;

Să nu vă faceți sufletele urâcioase cu vreo târâtoare ce se târăște pe pământ, nici să nu vă faceți necurați cu ele, ca să nu fiți pângăriți prin ele.

44 for Y am youre Lord God; be ye hooli, for Y am hooli. Defoule ye not youre soulis in ech crepynge `beeste which is moued on erthe; for Y am the Lord,

Pentru că eu sunt DOMNUL Dumnezeul vostru, de aceea sfințiți-vă și veți fi sfinți; căci eu sunt sfânt, să nu vă pângăriți cu niciun fel de târâtoare ce se târăște pe pământ.

45 that ladde you out of the lond of Egipt, that Y schulde be to you in to God; ye schulen be hooli, for Y am hooli.

Pentru că eu sunt DOMNUL care vă aduce din țara Egiptului, pentru a fi Dumnezeul vostru; de aceea fiți sfinți, căci eu sunt sfânt.

46 This is the lawe of lyuynge beestes, and of foulis, and of ech lyuynge soule which is moued in watir, and crepith in erthe;

Aceasta este legea despre animale și despre păsări și despre fiecare viețuitoare care se mișcă în ape și despre fiecare târâtoare care se târăște pe pământ,

47 that ye knowe differences of clene thing and vnclene, and that ye wite what ye schulen ete, and what ye owen forsake.

Pentru a face o diferență între necurat și curat și între animalul care poate fi mâncat și animalul care nu poate fi mâncat.
