Leviticus 11
1 And the Lord spak to Moises and Aaron, and seide,
Il Signore disse a Mosè e ad Aronne:
2 Seie ye to the sones of Israel, Kepe ye alle thingis whiche Y wroot to you, that Y be youre God. These ben the beestis, whiche ye schulen ete, of alle lyuynge beestis of erthe;
«Riferite agli Israeliti: Questi sono gli animali che potrete mangiare fra tutte le bestie che sono sulla terra.
3 ye schulen ete `al thing among beestis that hath a clee departid, and chewith code;
Potrete mangiare d'ogni quadrupede che ha l'unghia bipartita, divisa da una fessura, e che rumina.
4 sotheli what euer thing chewith code, and hath a clee, but departith not it, as a camel and othere beestis doon, ye schulen not ete it, and ye schulen arette among vnclene thingis.
Ma fra i ruminanti e gli animali che hanno l'unghia divisa, non mangerete i seguenti: il cammello, perché rumina, ma non ha l'unghia divisa, lo considererete immondo;
5 A cirogrille, which chewith code, and departith not the clee, is vnclene; and an hare,
l'ìrace, perché rumina, ma non ha l'unghia divisa, lo considererete immondo;
6 for also he chewith code, but departith not the clee;
la lepre, perché rumina, ma non ha l'unghia divisa, la considererete immonda;
7 and a swiyn, that chewith not code, thouy he departith the clee.
il porco, perché ha l'unghia bipartita da una fessura, ma non rumina, lo considererete immondo.
8 Ye schulen not ete the fleischis of these, nether ye schulen touche the deed bodies, for tho ben vnclene to you.
Non mangerete la loro carne e non toccherete i loro cadaveri; li considererete immondi.
9 Also these thingis ben that ben gendrid in watris, and is leueful to ete;
Questi sono gli animali che potrete mangiare fra tutti quelli acquatici. Potrete mangiare quanti hanno pinne e squame, sia nei mari, sia nei fiumi.
10 ye schulen ete al thing that hath fynnes and scalis, as wel in the see, as in floodis and stondynge watris; sotheli what euer thing of tho that ben moued and lyuen in watris, hath not fynnes and scalis, schal be abhominable, and wlatsum to you;
Ma di tutti gli animali, che si muovono o vivono nelle acque, nei mari e nei fiumi, quanti non hanno né pinne né squame, li terrete in abominio.
11 ye schulen not ete the fleischis of tho, and ye schulen eschewe the bodies deed bi hem silf.
Essi saranno per voi in abominio; non mangerete la loro carne e terrete in abominio i loro cadaveri.
12 Alle thingis in watris that han not fynnes and scalis, schulen be pollutid,
Tutto ciò che non ha né pinne né squame nelle acque sarà per voi in abominio.
13 These thingis ben of foulis whiche ye schulen not ete, and schulen be eschewid of you; an egle, and a grippe, aliete, and a kyte, and a vultur by his kynde;
Fra i volatili terrete in abominio questi, che non dovrete mangiare, perché ripugnanti: l'aquila, l'ossìfraga e l'aquila di mare,
14 and al of `rauyns kynde bi his licnesse;
il nibbio e ogni specie di falco,
15 a strucioun,
ogni specie di corvo,
16 and nyyt crowe, a lare, and an hauke bi his kinde;
lo struzzo, la civetta, il gabbiano e ogni specie di sparviere,
17 an owle, and dippere, and ibis;
il gufo, l'alcione, l'ibis,
18 a swan and cormoraunt, and a pellican;
il cigno, il pellicano, la fòlaga,
19 a fawcun, a iay bi his kynde; a leepwynke, and a reremows.
la cicogna, ogni specie di airone, l'ùpupa e il pipistrello.
20 Al thing of foulis that goith on foure feet, schal be abhomynable to you;
Sarà per voi in abominio anche ogni insetto alato, che cammina su quattro piedi.
21 sotheli what euer thing goith on foure feet, but hath lengere hipis bihynde, bi whiche it skippith on the erthe, ye schulen ete;
Però fra tutti gli insetti alati che camminano su quattro piedi, potrete mangiare quelli che hanno due zampe sopra i piedi, per saltare sulla terra.
22 as is a bruke in his kynde, and acatus, and opymacus, and a locuste, alle bi her kynde.
Perciò potrete mangiare i seguenti: ogni specie di cavalletta, ogni specie di locusta, ogni specie di acrìdi e ogni specie di grillo.
23 Forsothe what euer thing of briddis hath foure feet oneli, it schal be abhomynable to you;
Ogni altro insetto alato che ha quattro piedi lo terrete in abominio!
24 and who euer touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, schal be defoulid, and `schal be vnclene `til to euentid;
Per i seguenti animali diventerete immondi: chiunque toccherà il loro cadavere sarà immondo fino alla sera
25 and if it is nede, that he bere ony deed thing of these, he schal waische his clothis, and he schal be vnclene til to the goyng doun of the sunne.
e chiunque trasporterà i loro cadaveri si dovrà lavare le vesti e sarà immondo fino alla sera.
26 Sotheli ech beeste that hath a clee, but departith not it, nether chewith code, schal be vnclene; and what euer thing touchith it, schal be defoulid.
Riterrete immondo ogni animale che ha l'unghia, ma non divisa da fessura, e non rumina: chiunque li toccherà sarà immondo.
27 That that goith on hondis, of alle beestis that gon on foure feet, schal be vnclene; he, that touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, schal be defoulid `til to euentid;
Considererete immondi tutti i quadrupedi che camminano sulla pianta dei piedi; chiunque ne toccherà il cadavere sarà immondo fino alla sera.
28 and he, that berith siche deed bodies, schal waische hise clothis, and he schal be vnclene `til to euentid; for alle these thingis ben vnclene to you.
E chiunque trasporterà i loro cadaveri si dovrà lavare le vesti e sarà immondo fino alla sera. Tali animali riterrete immondi.
29 Also these thingis schulen be arettid among defoulid thingis, of these that ben moued on erthe; a wesele, and mows, and a cocodrille, `alle bi her kynde;
Fra gli animali che strisciano per terra riterrete immondi: la talpa, il topo e ogni specie di sauri,
30 mygal, camelion, and stellio, and lacerta, and a maldewerp.
il toporagno, la lucertola, il geco, il ramarro, il camaleonte.
31 Alle these ben vnclene; he that touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, schal be vnclene `til to euentid;
Questi animali, fra quanti strisciano, saranno immondi per voi; chiunque li toccherà morti, sarà immondo fino alla sera.
32 and that thing schal be defoulid, on which ony thing of her bodies deed bi hem silf fallith, as wel a vessel of tree, and a cloth, as skynnes `and heiris; and in what euer thing werk is maad, it schal be dippid in watir, and tho thingis schulen be defoulid `til to euentid, and so aftirward tho schulen be clensid.
Ogni oggetto sul quale cadrà morto qualcuno di essi, sarà immondo: si tratti di utensili di legno o di veste o pelle o sacco o qualunque altro oggetto di cui si faccia uso; si immergerà nell'acqua e sarà immondo fino alla sera; poi sarà mondo.
33 Sotheli a vessel of erthe, in which ony thing of these fallith with ynne, schal be defoulid, and therfor it schal be brokun.
Se ne cade qualcuno in un vaso di terra, quanto vi si troverà dentro sarà immondo e spezzerete il vaso.
34 Ech mete, which ye schulen ete, schal be vnclene, if water is sched thereon; and ech fletynge thing, which is drunkun of ech vessel, `where ynne vnclene thingis bifelden, schal be vnclene;
Ogni cibo che serve di nutrimento, sul quale cada quell'acqua, sarà immondo; ogni bevanda di cui si fa uso, qualunque sia il vaso che la contiene, sarà immonda.
35 and what euer thing of siche deed bodies bi hem silf felde theronne, it schal be vnclene, whether furneisis, ethir vessels of thre feet, tho schulen be destried, and schulen be vnclene.
Ogni oggetto sul quale cadrà qualche parte del loro cadavere, sarà immondo; il forno o il fornello sarà spezzato: sono immondi e li dovete ritenere tali.
36 Sotheli wellis and cisternes, and al the congregacioun of watris, schal be clene. He that touchith her bodi deed bi it silf, schal be defoulid.
Però, una fonte o una cisterna, cioè una raccolta di acqua, sarà monda; ma chi toccherà i loro cadaveri sarà immondo.
37 If it fallith on seed, it schal not defoule the seed;
Se qualcosa dei loro cadaveri cade su qualche seme che deve essere seminato, questo sarà mondo;
38 sotheli if ony man schedith seed with watir, and aftirward the watir is touchid with deed bodies bi hem silf, it schal be defoulid anoon.
ma se è stata versata acqua sul seme e vi cade qualche cosa dei loro cadaveri, lo riterrai immondo.
39 If a beeste is deed, which it is leueful to you to ete, he that touchith the deed bodi therof schal be vnclene `til to euentid; and he that etith therof ony thing,
Se muore un animale, di cui vi potete cibare, colui che ne toccherà il cadavere sarà immondo fino alla sera.
40 ethir berith, schal waische his clothis, and schal be vnclene `til to euentid.
Colui che mangerà di quel cadavere si laverà le vesti e sarà immondo fino alla sera; anche colui che trasporterà quel cadavere si laverà le vesti e sarà immondo fino alla sera.
41 Al thing that crepith on erthe, schal be abhomynable, nether schal be takun in to mete.
Ogni essere che striscia sulla terra è un abominio; non se ne mangerà.
42 `What euer thing goith on the brest and foure feet, and hath many feet, ethir drawun bi the erthe, ye schulen not ete, for it is abhomynable.
Di tutti gli animali che strisciano sulla terra non ne mangerete alcuno che cammini sul ventre o cammini con quattro piedi o con molti piedi, poiché sono un abominio.
43 Nyle ye defoule youre soulis, nether touche ye ony thing of tho, lest ye ben vnclene;
Non rendete le vostre persone abominevoli con alcuno di questi animali che strisciano; non vi rendete immondi per causa loro, in modo da rimaner così contaminati.
44 for Y am youre Lord God; be ye hooli, for Y am hooli. Defoule ye not youre soulis in ech crepynge `beeste which is moued on erthe; for Y am the Lord,
Poiché io sono il Signore, il Dio vostro. Santificatevi dunque e siate santi, perché io sono santo; non contaminate le vostre persone con alcuno di questi animali che strisciano per terra.
45 that ladde you out of the lond of Egipt, that Y schulde be to you in to God; ye schulen be hooli, for Y am hooli.
Poiché io sono il Signore, che vi ho fatti uscire dal paese d'Egitto, per essere il vostro Dio; siate dunque santi, perché io sono santo.
46 This is the lawe of lyuynge beestes, and of foulis, and of ech lyuynge soule which is moued in watir, and crepith in erthe;
Questa è la legge che riguarda i quadrupedi, gli uccelli, ogni essere vivente che si muove nelle acque e ogni essere che striscia per terra,
47 that ye knowe differences of clene thing and vnclene, and that ye wite what ye schulen ete, and what ye owen forsake.
perché sappiate distinguere ciò che è immondo da ciò che è mondo, l'animale che si può mangiare da quello che non si deve mangiare».
