Leviticus 11
1 And the Lord spak to Moises and Aaron, and seide,
Yahweh parla à Moïse et à Aaron, en leur disant:
2 Seie ye to the sones of Israel, Kepe ye alle thingis whiche Y wroot to you, that Y be youre God. These ben the beestis, whiche ye schulen ete, of alle lyuynge beestis of erthe;
" Parlez aux enfants d'Israël, et dites: Voici les animaux que vous mangerez parmi toutes les bêtes qui sont sur la terre:
3 ye schulen ete `al thing among beestis that hath a clee departid, and chewith code;
Tout animal qui a la corne divisée et le pied fourchu, et qui rumine, vous le mangerez.
4 sotheli what euer thing chewith code, and hath a clee, but departith not it, as a camel and othere beestis doon, ye schulen not ete it, and ye schulen arette among vnclene thingis.
Mais vous ne mangerez pas de ceux qui ruminent seulement, ou qui ont seulement la corne divisée. Tel est le chameau, qui rumine, mais dont la corne n'est pas divisée: il sera impur pour vous.
5 A cirogrille, which chewith code, and departith not the clee, is vnclene; and an hare,
Telle la gerboise, qui rumine, mais qui n'a pas la corné divisée: elle sera impure pour vous.
6 for also he chewith code, but departith not the clee;
Tel le lièvre, qui rumine, mais qui n'a pas la corne divisée: il sera impur pour vous.
7 and a swiyn, that chewith not code, thouy he departith the clee.
Tel le porc, qui a la corne divisée et le pied fourchu, mais qui ne rumine pas: il sera impur pour vous.
8 Ye schulen not ete the fleischis of these, nether ye schulen touche the deed bodies, for tho ben vnclene to you.
Vous ne mangerez pas de leur chair, et vous ne toucherez pas à leurs corps morts: ils seront impurs pour vous.
9 Also these thingis ben that ben gendrid in watris, and is leueful to ete;
Voici les animaux que vous mangerez parmi tous ceux qui sont dans les eaux: Tout ce qui a nageoires et écailles, dans les eaux, soit dans la mer, soit dans les rivières, vous le mangerez.
10 ye schulen ete al thing that hath fynnes and scalis, as wel in the see, as in floodis and stondynge watris; sotheli what euer thing of tho that ben moued and lyuen in watris, hath not fynnes and scalis, schal be abhominable, and wlatsum to you;
Mais vous aurez en abomination tout ce qui n'a pas nageoires et écailles, dans les mers et dans les rivières, parmi tous les animaux qui se meuvent dans les eaux et parmi tous les êtres vivants qui s'y trouvent.
11 ye schulen not ete the fleischis of tho, and ye schulen eschewe the bodies deed bi hem silf.
Ils seront pour vous une abomination; vous ne mangerez pas de leur chair, et vous tiendrez pour abominables leurs cadavres.
12 Alle thingis in watris that han not fynnes and scalis, schulen be pollutid,
Tout ce qui, dans les eaux, n'a pas de nageoires et d'écailles, vous l'aurez en abomination.
13 These thingis ben of foulis whiche ye schulen not ete, and schulen be eschewid of you; an egle, and a grippe, aliete, and a kyte, and a vultur by his kynde;
Voici, parmi les oiseaux, ceux que vous aurez en abomination; on ne les mangera pas, c'est chose abominable: l'aigle, l'orfraie et le vautour:
14 and al of `rauyns kynde bi his licnesse;
le milan et toute espèce de faucons;
15 a strucioun,
toute espèce de corbeaux;
16 and nyyt crowe, a lare, and an hauke bi his kinde;
l'autruche, le chat-huant, la mouette et toute espèce d'éperviers;
17 an owle, and dippere, and ibis;
le hibou, le cormoran et la chouette;
18 a swan and cormoraunt, and a pellican;
le cygne, le pélican et le gypaète;
19 a fawcun, a iay bi his kynde; a leepwynke, and a reremows.
la cigogne, toute espèce de hérons; la huppe et la chauve-souris.
20 Al thing of foulis that goith on foure feet, schal be abhomynable to you;
Tout insecte ailé qui marche sur quatre pattes, vous l'aurez en abomination.
21 sotheli what euer thing goith on foure feet, but hath lengere hipis bihynde, bi whiche it skippith on the erthe, ye schulen ete;
Mais, parmi tous les insectes ailés qui marchent sur quatre pattes, vous mangerez ceux qui ont des jambes au-dessus de leurs pattes, pour sauter sur la terre.
22 as is a bruke in his kynde, and acatus, and opymacus, and a locuste, alle bi her kynde.
Voici ceux d'entre eux que vous mangerez: toute espèce de sauterelles, toute espèce de solam, toute espèce de hargol, toute espèce de hagab.
23 Forsothe what euer thing of briddis hath foure feet oneli, it schal be abhomynable to you;
Toute autre bête ailée ayant quatre pattes, vous l'aurez en abomination.
24 and who euer touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, schal be defoulid, and `schal be vnclene `til to euentid;
Ceux-ci aussi vous rendront impurs: quiconque touchera leur corps mort sera impur jusqu'au soir,
25 and if it is nede, that he bere ony deed thing of these, he schal waische his clothis, and he schal be vnclene til to the goyng doun of the sunne.
et quiconque emportera quelque partie de leur corps mort lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir.
26 Sotheli ech beeste that hath a clee, but departith not it, nether chewith code, schal be vnclene; and what euer thing touchith it, schal be defoulid.
Tout animal qui a la corne divisée, mais qui n'a pas le pied fourchu et qui ne rumine pas, sera impur pour vous; quiconque le touchera se rendra impur.
27 That that goith on hondis, of alle beestis that gon on foure feet, schal be vnclene; he, that touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, schal be defoulid `til to euentid;
Et parmi les animaux à quatre pieds, tout ce qui marche sur la plante des pieds vous sera impur: quiconque touchera leur corps mort sera impur jusqu'au soir;
28 and he, that berith siche deed bodies, schal waische hise clothis, and he schal be vnclene `til to euentid; for alle these thingis ben vnclene to you.
et quiconque portera leur corps mort lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir. Ces animaux seront impurs pour vous.
29 Also these thingis schulen be arettid among defoulid thingis, of these that ben moued on erthe; a wesele, and mows, and a cocodrille, `alle bi her kynde;
Voici, parmi les petites bêtes qui rampent sur la terre, celles qui seront impures pour vous: la belette, la souris et toute espèce de lézards;
30 mygal, camelion, and stellio, and lacerta, and a maldewerp.
la musaraigne, le caméléon, la salamandre, le lézard vert et la taupe.
31 Alle these ben vnclene; he that touchith her bodies deed bi hem silf, schal be vnclene `til to euentid;
Tels sont ceux qui seront impurs pour vous parmi les reptiles: quiconque les touchera morts sera impur jusqu'au soir.
32 and that thing schal be defoulid, on which ony thing of her bodies deed bi hem silf fallith, as wel a vessel of tree, and a cloth, as skynnes `and heiris; and in what euer thing werk is maad, it schal be dippid in watir, and tho thingis schulen be defoulid `til to euentid, and so aftirward tho schulen be clensid.
Tout objet sur lequel il en tombera de morts sera souillé: ustensile de bois, vêtement, peau, sac, tout objet dont on fait usage; on le mettra dans l'eau, et il restera souillé jusqu'au soir; après quoi, il sera pur.
33 Sotheli a vessel of erthe, in which ony thing of these fallith with ynne, schal be defoulid, and therfor it schal be brokun.
S'il en tombe quelque chose dans le milieu de tout vase de terre, tout ce qui sera dans le milieu du vase sera souillé, et vous briserez le vase.
34 Ech mete, which ye schulen ete, schal be vnclene, if water is sched thereon; and ech fletynge thing, which is drunkun of ech vessel, `where ynne vnclene thingis bifelden, schal be vnclene;
Tout aliment servant à la nourriture et préparé avec de l'eau, sera souillé; toute boisson dont on fait usage, quel que soit le vase qui la contienne, sera souillée.
35 and what euer thing of siche deed bodies bi hem silf felde theronne, it schal be vnclene, whether furneisis, ethir vessels of thre feet, tho schulen be destried, and schulen be vnclene.
Tout objet sur lequel tombera quelque chose de leur corps mort sera souillé; le four et le vase avec son couvercle seront détruits; ils seront souillés et vous les tiendrez pour souillés.
36 Sotheli wellis and cisternes, and al the congregacioun of watris, schal be clene. He that touchith her bodi deed bi it silf, schal be defoulid.
Mais les sources et les citernes, où se forment les amas d'eau, resteront pures; toutefois celui qui touchera le corps mort sera impur.
37 If it fallith on seed, it schal not defoule the seed;
S'il tombe quelque chose de leur corps mort sur une semence qui doit être semée, la semence restera pure;
38 sotheli if ony man schedith seed with watir, and aftirward the watir is touchid with deed bodies bi hem silf, it schal be defoulid anoon.
mais si l'on a mis de l'eau sur la semence, et qu'il y tombe quelque chose de leur corps mort, vous la tiendrez pour souillée.
39 If a beeste is deed, which it is leueful to you to ete, he that touchith the deed bodi therof schal be vnclene `til to euentid; and he that etith therof ony thing,
S'il meurt un des animaux qui vous servent de nourriture, celui qui touchera son cadavre sera impur jusqu'au soir.
40 ethir berith, schal waische his clothis, and schal be vnclene `til to euentid.
Celui qui mangera de son corps mort lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir; celui qui portera son corps mort, lavera ses vêtements et sera impur jusqu'au soir.
41 Al thing that crepith on erthe, schal be abhomynable, nether schal be takun in to mete.
Vous aurez en abomination tout reptile qui rampe sur la terre: on n'en mangera point.
42 `What euer thing goith on the brest and foure feet, and hath many feet, ethir drawun bi the erthe, ye schulen not ete, for it is abhomynable.
Vous ne mangerez d'aucun animal qui rampe sur la terre, soit de ceux qui se traînent sur le ventre, soit de ceux qui marchent sur quatre pieds ou sur un grand nombre de pieds; car vous les aurez en abomination.
43 Nyle ye defoule youre soulis, nether touche ye ony thing of tho, lest ye ben vnclene;
Ne vous rendez point abominables par tous ces reptiles qui rampent; ne vous rendez point impurs par eux; vous seriez souillés par eux.
44 for Y am youre Lord God; be ye hooli, for Y am hooli. Defoule ye not youre soulis in ech crepynge `beeste which is moued on erthe; for Y am the Lord,
Car je suis Yahweh, votre Dieu; vous vous sanctifierez et vous serez saints, car je suis saint; et vous ne vous souillerez point par tous ces reptiles, qui rampent sur la terre.
45 that ladde you out of the lond of Egipt, that Y schulde be to you in to God; ye schulen be hooli, for Y am hooli.
Car je suis Yahweh, qui vous ai fait monter du pays d'Egypte, pour être votre Dieu. Vous serez saints, car je suis saint. "
46 This is the lawe of lyuynge beestes, and of foulis, and of ech lyuynge soule which is moued in watir, and crepith in erthe;
Telle est la loi touchant les quadrupèdes, les oiseaux, tous les êtres vivants qui se meuvent dans les eaux, et tous les êtres qui rampent sur la terre,
47 that ye knowe differences of clene thing and vnclene, and that ye wite what ye schulen ete, and what ye owen forsake.
afin que vous distinguiez entre ce qui est impur et ce qui est pur, entre l'animal qui se mange et celui qui ne se mange pas.
