Judges 1
1 Aftir the deeth of Josue the sones of Israel counseliden the Lord, and seiden, Who schal stie bifor vs ayens Cananei, and schal be duik of the batel?
Und es geschah nach dem Tode Joschuas, daß die Söhne Israels Jehovah fragten und sprachen: Wer soll für uns hinaufziehen wider den Kanaaniter, um zu beginnen, mit ihm zu streiten?
2 And the Lord seide, Judas schal stie; lo! Y haue youe the lond in to hise hondis.
Und Jehovah sprach: Judah soll hinaufziehen. Siehe, Ich habe das Land in seine Hand gegeben.
3 And Juda seide to Symeon, his brother, Stie thou with me in my lot, and fiyte thou ayens Cananei, that Y go with thee in thi lot.
Und Judah sprach zu Schimeon, seinem Bruder: Ziehe mit mir hinauf in mein Los und laß uns wider den Kanaaniter streiten, und ich werde auch mit dir gehen in dein Los. Und Schimeon ging mit ihm.
4 And Symeon yede with hym; and Judas stiede. And the Lord bitook Cananey and Feresei in to `the hondis of hem, and thei killiden in Besech ten thousynde of men.
Und Judah zog hinauf, und Jehovah gab den Kanaaniter und den Pherisiter in ihre Hand, und sie schlugen ihrer in Besek zehntausend Mann.
5 And thei founden Adonybozech in Besech, and thei fouyten ayens hym, and smytiden Cananei, and Feresey.
Und sie trafen in Besek auf Adoni-Besek und stritten wider ihn und schlugen den Kanaaniter und den Pherisiter.
6 Forsothe Adonybozech fledde, whom thei pursueden, and token, and kittiden the endis of hise hondis and feet.
Und Adoni-Besek floh, und sie setzten ihm nach hinter ihm her und griffen ihn und schnitten ihm die Daumen an Händen und Füßen ab.
7 And Adonybozech seide, Seuenti kyngis, whanne the endis of hondis and feet weren kit awey, gaderiden relifs of metis vndur my bord; as Y dide, so God hath yolde to me. And thei brouyten hym in to Jerusalem, and there he diede.
Und Adoni-Besek sprach: Siebzig Könige mit abgeschnittenen Daumen an Händen und Füßen lasen unter meinem Tische auf. Wie ich getan, so hat mir Gott vergolten. Und sie brachten ihn herein nach Jerusalem, und er starb allda.
8 Therfor the sones of Juda fouyten ayens Jerusalem, and token it, and smytiden bi the scharpnesse of swerd, and bitoken al the cytee to brennyng.
Und die Söhne Judahs stritten gegen Jerusalem und eroberten es und schlugen es mit der Schärfe des Schwertes und steckten die Stadt mit Feuer an.
9 And aftirward thei yeden doun, and fouyten ayens Cananey, that dwellide in the hilli places, and at the south, in `feeldi places.
Und danach gingen die Söhne Judahs hinab, wider den Kanaaniter zu streiten, der auf dem Gebirge und im Mittag und in der Niederung wohnte.
10 And Judas yede ayens Cananei, that dwellide in Ebron, whos name was bi eld tyme Cariatharbe; and Judas killide Sisay, and Achyman, and Tholmai.
Und Judah zog gegen den Kanaaniter, der in Chebron wohnte,
11 And fro thennus he yede forth, and yede to the dwelleris of Dabir, whos eld name was Cariathsepher, that is, the citee of lettris.
Und von da ging er gegen die Einwohner von Debir. Und der Name Debir war vordem Kirjath Sepher.
12 And Caleph seide, Y schal yyue Axa, my douyter, wijf to hym that schal smyte Cariathsepher, and schal waste it.
Und Kaleb sprach: Wer Kirjath Sepher schlägt und es erobert, dem gebe ich Achsah, meine Tochter, zum Weibe.
13 And whanne Othonyel, sone of Seneth, the lesse brother of Caleph, hadde take it, Caleph yaf Axa, his douyter, wijf to hym.
Und Othniel eroberte sie, der Sohn des Kenas, des Bruders von Kaleb, der jünger war als er, und er gab ihm Achsah, seine Tochter, zum Weibe.
14 And hir hosebonde stiride hir, goynge in the weie, that sche schulde axe of hir fadir a feeld; and whanne sche hadde siyid, sittynge on the asse, Caleph seide to hir, What hast thou?
Und es geschah, als sie hereinkam, trieb sie ihn an, von ihrem Vater Feld zu erbitten. Und sie ließ sich vom Esel herab und Kaleb sprach zu ihr: Was ist dir?
15 And sche answeride, Yiue thou blessyng to me, for thou hast youe a drye lond to me; yyue thou also a moyst lond with watris. And Caleph yaf to hir the moist lond aboue, and the moist lond bynethe.
Und sie sprach zu ihm: Gib mir einen Segen, denn du hast mir Mittagsland gegeben, so gib mir auch Wasserquellen. Und Kaleb gab ihr die oberen und die unteren Wasserquellen.
16 Forsothe the sones of Cyney, `alye of Moyses, stieden fro the citee of palmes with the sones of Juda, in to the desert of his lot, which desert is at the south of Arath; and dwelliden with hym.
Und die Söhne des Keniters, des Schwagers Moses, zogen von der Palmenstadt mit den Söhnen Judahs herauf in die Wüste Judah, die gegen Mittag von Arad ist, und ging hin und wohnte beim Volk.
17 Sotheli Judas yede with Symeon, his brother; and thei smytiden togidere Cananei, that dwellide in Sephar, and killiden hym; and the name of that citee was clepid Horma, that is, cursyng, `ether perfit distriyng, for thilke citee was distried outerly.
Und Judah zog mit seinem Bruder Schimeon hin, und sie schlugen den Kanaaniter, der in Zephath wohnte und verbannten dasselbe, und man nannte den Namen der Stadt Chormah.
18 And Judas took Gaza with hise coostis, and Ascolon, and Accaron with hise termes.
Und Judah eroberte Gazah und ihre Grenze und Aschkelon und ihre Grenze und Ekron und ihre Grenze.
19 And the Lord was with Judas, and he `hadde in possessioun the hilli places; and he myyte not do awey the dwelleris of the valei, for thei weren plenteuouse in `yrun charis, scharpe as sithis.
Und Jehovah war mit Judah, daß er das Gebirge einnahm; aber die im Talgrunde wohnten, vermochte er nicht auszutreiben, weil sie eiserne Wagen hatten.
20 And `the sones of Israel yauen Ebron to Caleph, as Moises hadde seid, which Caleph dide awei for it thre sones of Enach.
Und dem Kaleb gaben sie Chebron, wie Mose geredet hatte, und er trieb aus von da die drei Enakssöhne.
21 Forsothe the sones of Beniamyn diden not awei Jebusei, the dwellere of Jerusalem; and Jebusei dwellide with the sones of Beniamyn in Jerusalem `til in to present dai.
Und den Jebusiter, der in Jerusalem wohnte, trieben die Söhne Benjamins nicht aus, und der Jebusiter wohnt mit den Söhnen Benjamins in Jerusalem bis auf diesen Tag.
22 Also the hows of Joseph stiede in to Bethel, and the Lord was with hem.
Und das Haus Josephs zog auch hinauf wider Beth-El, und Jehovah war mit ihnen.
23 For whanne thei bisegiden the citee, that was clepid Lusa bifore,
Und das Haus Josephs spähte Beth-El aus der Name der Stadt war aber vordem Lus.
24 thei sien a man goynge out of the citee, and thei seiden to hym, Schewe thou to vs the entrynge of the cytee, and we schulen do mercy with thee.
Und die Hüter sahen einen Mann aus der Stadt herauskommen und sprachen zu ihm: Zeige uns doch den Eingang in die Stadt, und wir wollen Barmherzigkeit an dir tun.
25 And whanne he hadde schewid to hem, thei smytiden the citee bi scharpnes of swerd; sotheli thei delyueriden that man and al his kynrede.
Und er zeigte ihnen den Eingang in die Stadt, und sie schlugen die Stadt mit der Schärfe des Schwertes; den Mann aber und seine ganze Familie entließen sie.
26 And he was delyuerede, and yede in to the lond of Sethym, and bildide there a citee, and clepid it Luzam; which is clepid so til in to present dai.
Und der Mann ging hin in das Land der Chethiter und baute eine Stadt und nannte ihren Namen Lus. Das ist ihr Name bis auf diesen Tag.
27 Also Manasses dide not awei Bethsan and Thanael with her townes, and the dwelleris of Endor, and Geblaam and Magedo with her townes; and Cananei bigan to dwelle with hem.
Und Menascheh nahm nicht ein Beth-Schean und seine Töchterstädte, noch Thaanach und seine Töchterstädte, noch die Einwohner Dors und ihre Töchterstädte, noch die Einwohner Jibleams und dessen Töchterstädte, noch Megiddos Einwohner und ihre Töchterstädte; und der Kanaaniter wollte in diesem Lande wohnen.
28 Sotheli after that Israel was coumfortid, he made hem tributaries, `ethir to paye tribute, and nolde do awey hem.
Und es geschah, als Israel stark ward, machte es den Kanaaniter zinsbar und trieb ihn nicht ganz aus.
29 Sotheli Effraym killide not Cananei that dwellyde in Gaser, but dwellide with hym.
Und Ephraim trieb den Kanaaniter nicht aus, der in Geser wohnte, und der Kanaaniter wohnte in seiner Mitte in Geser.
30 Zabulon dide not awey the dwelleris of Cethron, and of Naalon; but Cananei dwellide in the myddis of hym, and was maad tributarie to him.
Sebulun trieb die Einwohner Kitrons, und die in Nahalal wohnten nicht aus, und der Kanaaniter wohnte in seiner Mitte und wurde zinsbar.
31 Also Aser dide not awey the dwelleris of Acho, and of Sidon, of Alab, and of Azazib, and of Alba, and Aphech, and of Aloa, and of Pha, and of Roob; and he dwellide in the myddis of Cananey,
Ascher trieb nicht aus die Einwohner von Akko, noch die Einwohner von Zidon und Achlab und Achsib und Chelbah und Aphik und Rechob.
32 dwellere of that lond, and killide not hym.
Und der Ascherite wohnte inmitten der Kanaaniter, die im Lande wohnten; denn er trieb sie nicht aus.
33 Neptalym dide not awei the dwelleris of Bethsames, and of Bethanach; and he dwellide among Cananey, dwellere of the lond; and Bethsamytis and Bethanytis weren tributarie to hym.
Naphthali trieb nicht aus die Einwohner von Beth-Schemesch, noch die Einwohner von Beth-Anath und wohnte inmitten der Kanaaniter, die im Lande wohnten; und die Einwohner von Beth-Schemesch und Beth-Anath waren ihnen zinsbar.
34 And Ammorrey helde streit the sones of Dan in the hil, and yaf not place to hem to go doun to pleynere places;
Und die Amoriter drängten die Söhne Dans auf das Gebirge und gestatteten ihnen nicht, in den Talgrund herabzukommen.
35 and he dwellide in the hil of Hares, `which is interpretid, Witnessyng, in Hailon, and in Salabym. And the hond of the hows of Joseph was maad heuy, and he was maad tributarie to hym.
Und der Amoriter wollte auf dem Berg Cheres in Aijalon und in Schaalbim wohnen; und die Hand des Hauses Josephs ward schwer, so daß sie zinsbar wurden.
36 And the terme of Ammorrei was fro the stiyng of Scorpioun, and the stoon, and hiyere places.
Und die Grenze des Amoriters war Maaleh Akrabbim von der Felsklippe an und aufwärts.
