Judges 6
1 Forsothe the sones of Israel diden yuel in the `siyt of the Lord, and he bitook hem in the hond of Madian seuene yeer.
Und die Söhne Israels taten Böses in den Augen Jehovahs, und Jehovah gab sie in die Hand Midjans sieben Jahre.
2 And thei weren oppressid of hem greetly; and `thei maden dichis, and dennes to hem silf in hillis, and strongeste places to fiyte ayen.
Und die Hand Midjans ward stark über Israel. Da machten sich die Söhne Israels vor Midjan Klüfte an den Bergen und Höhlen und Bergfesten.
3 And whanne Israel hadde sowe, Madian stiede, and Amalech, and othere of the `naciouns of the eest;
Und es geschah, wenn Israel säte, da zog herauf Midjan und Amalek und die Söhne des Ostens, und kamen herauf über sie.
4 and thei settiden tentis at the sones of Israel, and wastiden alle thingis `as tho weren in eerbis, ethir grene corn, `til to the entryng of Gaza, and outirli thei leften not in Israel ony thing perteynynge to lijf, not scheep, not oxun, not assis.
Und sie lagerten sich wider sie und verdarben das Gewächs des Landes, bis man gen Gazah kommt, und ließen in Israel keine Lebensmittel übrig, weder Kleinvieh, noch Ochse, noch Esel.
5 For thei and alle her flockis camen with her tabernaclis, and at the licnesse of locustus thei filliden alle thingis, and a multitude of men and of camels was with out noumbre, and wastiden what euer thing thei touchiden.
Denn sie zogen herauf mit ihren Viehherden und ihren Zelten. Wie die Heuschrecken an Menge kamen sie, und sie und ihre Kamele waren ohne Zahl, und sie kamen in das Land, es zu verderben.
6 And Israel was `maad low greetli in the siyt of Madian.
Und Israel verarmte sehr vor Midjan, und die Söhne Israels schrien zu Jehovah.
7 And Israel criede to the Lord, `and axyde help ayens Madianytis; and he sente to hem a man,
Und es geschah, da die Söhne Israels schrien zu Jehovah um Midjans willen,
8 a profete, and he spak, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Y made you to stie fro Egipt, and Y ledde you out of the hows of seruage,
Da sandte Jehovah einen Mann, einen Propheten, zu den Söhnen Israels, und er sprach zu ihnen: Also spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels: Ich habe euch aus Ägypten heraufgeführt und euch ausgeführt aus dem Hause der Knechte.
9 and Y delyueride you fro the hond of Egipcians, and of alle enemyes that turmentiden you; and Y castide hem out at youre entryng, and Y yaf to you `the lond of hem;
Und habe euch errettet aus der Ägypter Hand und aus der Hand aller, die euch unterdrückt und habe sie vor euch ausgetrieben, und euch ihr Land gegeben;
10 and Y seide, Y am `youre Lord God; drede ye not the goddis of Ammorreis, in whose lond ye dwellen; and ye nolden here my vois.
Und habe zu euch gesprochen: Ich, Jehovah, bin euer Gott. Fürchtet nicht die Götter der Amoriter, in deren Land ihr wohnt; aber ihr habt nicht auf Meine Stimme gehört.
11 Forsothe an aungel of the Lord cam, and sat undur an ook, that was in Effra, and perteynede to Joas, fadir of the meinee of Ezri. And whanne Gedeon, `his sone, threischide out, and purgide wheetis in a pressour,
Und es kam ein Engel Jehovahs und setzte Sich unter die Eiche zu Ophrah, die des Joasch, des Abiesriters war; und sein Sohn Gideon, der klopfte Weizen aus in der Kelterkufe, auf daß er es flüchtete vor Midjan.
12 that he schulde fle Madian, an aungel of the Lord apperide to hym, and seide, The Lord be with thee, thou strongeste of men.
Und es erschien ihm der Engel Jehovahs und sprach zu ihm: Jehovah sei mit dir, du tapferer Held!
13 And Gedeon seide to hym, My lord, Y biseche, if the Lord is with vs, whi therfor han alle these yuels take vs? Where ben the merueils of hym, whiche oure fadris telden, and seiden, The Lord ledde vs out of Egipt? `Now forsothe he hath forsake vs, and hath bitake vs in the hond of Madian.
Und Gideon sprach zu Ihm: Ach, Mein Herr, und ist Jehovah mit uns, warum trifft uns alles dies? Und wo sind alle Seine Wunder, von denen unsere Väter uns erzählen und sagen: Hat uns Jehovah nicht aus Ägypten heraufgebracht? Jetzt aber hat Jehovah uns fahren lassen und uns in die Hand Midjans gegeben.
14 And the Lord bihelde to hym, and seide, Go thou in this strengthe of thee, and thou schalt delyuere Israel fro the hond of Madian; wite thou, that Y sente thee.
Und Jehovah wandte Sich ihm zu und sprach: Gehe mit dieser deiner Kraft und rette Israel aus der Hand Midjans. Habe Ich dich nicht gesandt?
15 Which Gedeon answeride, and seide, My lord, Y biseche, in what thing schal Y delyuere Israel? Lo! my meynee is the loweste in Manasses, and Y am the leeste in the hows of my fadir.
Und er aber sprach zu Ihm: Ach, Herr, womit soll ich Israel retten? Siehe, mein Tausend ist das ärmste in Menascheh; und ich bin der jüngste in meines Vaters Haus.
16 And the Lord seide to hym, Y schal be with thee, and thou schalt smyte Madian as o man.
Und Jehovah sprach zu ihm: Weil Ich werde mit dir sein; und du sollst Midjan schlagen wie einen Mann.
17 And Gedeon seide, If Y haue foundun grace bifor thee, yyue to me a signe, that thou, that spekist to me, art sente of Goddis part;
Und er sprach zu Ihm: Finde ich doch Gnade in Deinen Augen, daß Du mir ein Zeichen tust, daß Du es bist, Der mit mir redet.
18 go thou not `awei fro hennus, til Y turne ayen to thee, and brynge sacrifice, and offre to thee. Whiche answeride, Y schal abide thi comyng.
Weiche doch nicht von hinnen, bis ich zu Dir kommen und mein Speiseopfer herausbringe und vor dir niederlege. Und Er sprach: Ich will bleiben, bis du zurückkommst.
19 And so Gedeon entride, and sethide a kide, and took therf looues of a buyschel of mell, and fleischis in a panyere; and he sente the broth of fleischis in a pot, and bar alle thingis vndur an ook, and offride to hym.
Und Gideon ging hinein und bereitete ein Ziegenböcklein und von einem Epha Mehls ungesäuerte Kuchen; das Fleisch tat er in einen Korb, und die Brühe tat er in einen Topf, und brachte es zu Ihm heraus unter die Eiche und reichte es her.
20 To whom the aungel of the Lord seide, Take thou the fleischis, and therf looues, and putte on that stoon, and schede the broth aboue. And whanne he hadde do so,
Und der Engel Gottes sprach zu ihm: Nimm das Fleisch und die ungesäuerten Kuchen und lege sie nieder auf den Fels da und gieße die Brühe aus; und er tat also.
21 the aungel of the Lord helde forth the `ende of the yerde which he helde in the hond, and he touchide the fleischis, and the therf looues; and fier stiede fro the stoon, and wastide the fleischis, and therf looues. Forsothe the aungel of the Lord vanyschide fro hise iyen.
Und der Engel Jehovahs reckte das Ende des Steckens aus, der in Seiner Hand war, und berührte das Fleisch und die ungesäuerten Kuchen, und von dem Felsen stieg ein Feuer auf und fraß auf das Fleisch und die ungesäuerten Kuchen; und der Engel Jehovahs ging fort aus seinen Augen.
22 And Gedeon siy that he was `an aungel of the Lord, and seide, Lord God, alas to me, for Y siy the aungel of the Lord face to face.
Und Gideon sah, daß Er der Engel Jehovahs war, und Gideon sprach: Ach, Herr, Jehovah, denn nun habe ich den Engel Jehovahs von Angesicht zu Angesicht gesehen!
23 And the Lord seide to hym, Pees be with thee; drede thou not, thou schalt not die.
Und Jehovah sprach zu ihm: Friede sei mit dir! Fürchte dich nicht. Du sollst nicht sterben!
24 Therfor Gedeon bildide there an auter to the Lord, and he clepide it the Pees of the Lord, `til in to present dai. And whanne he was yit in Effra, which is of the meynee of Ezri, the Lord seide to hym in that nyyt,
Und Gideon baute allda einen Altar dem Jehovah und nannte ihn: Jehovah Schalom. Bis auf diesen Tag ist er noch in Ophra des Abiesriten.
25 Take thou `the bole of thy fadir, and anothir bole of seuene yeer, and thou schalt distrie the auter of Baal, which is thi fadris, and kitte thou doun the wode, which is aboute the auter;
Und es geschah in der selbigen Nacht, daß Jehovah zu ihm sprach: Nimm den Farren, den Ochsen deines Vaters, und den zweiten Farren von sieben Jahren, und reiße den Altar des Baal ein, der deinem Vater gehört, und die Aschere, die dabei steht, haue um.
26 and thou schalt bilde an auter to thi Lord God in the hiynesse of this stoon, on which thou puttidist sacrifice bifore; and thou schalt take the secounde bole, and thou schalt offre brent sacrifice on the heep of trees, whiche thou kittidist doun of the wode.
Und baue Jehovah, deinem Gott, einen Altar auf der Spitze dieser Feste nach der Ordnung, und nimm den zweiten Farren und opfere ihn auf als Brandopfer mit dem Holze der Aschere, die du umhauen wirst.
27 Therfore Gedeon took ten men of hise seruauntis, and dide as the Lord comaundide to hym. Sotheli Gedeon dredde the hows of his fadir, and the men of that citee, and nolde do bi dai, but fillide alle thingis bi nyyt.
Und Gideon nahm zehn Männer von seinen Knechten und tat, wie Jehovah zu ihm geredet hatte. Und es geschah, da er sich fürchtete vor dem Hause seines Vaters und den Männern der Stadt, daß er es bei Tag täte, so tat er es bei der Nacht.
28 And whanne men of that citee hadde rise eerly, thei sien the auter of Baal distried, and the wode kit doun, and the tothir bole put on the auter, that was bildid thanne.
Und die Männer der Stadt standen früh am Morgen auf und siehe, da war der Baalsaltar niedergerissen und die Aschere, die dabei war, umgehauen, und der zweite Farre als Brandopfer auf dem gebauten Altar.
29 And thei seiden togidere, Who hath do this? And whanne thei enqueriden the doer of the deed, it was seid, Gedeon, the sone of Joas, dide alle these thingis.
Und sie sagten, der Mann zu seinen Genossen: Wer hat das getan? Und sie fragten nach und forschten und sie sagten: Gideon, des Joasch Sohn, hat es getan!
30 And thei seiden to Joas, Brynge forth thi sone hidur, that he die, for he distriede the auter of Baal, and kittide doun the wode.
Und die Männer der Stadt sprachen zu Joasch: Bringe deinen Sohn heraus, daß er sterbe; denn er hat den Altar des Baal niedergerissen und die Aschere, die dabei stand, umgehauen.
31 To whiche he answeride, Whether ye ben the venieris of Baal, that ye fiyte for hym? he that is aduersarie of hym, die, bifor that the `liyt of the morew dai come; if he is God, venge he hym silf of hym that castide doun his auter.
Joasch aber sprach zu allen, die bei ihm standen: Wollt ihr für den Baal hadern? Wollt ihr ihm helfen? Wer für ihn hadert, soll diesen Morgen des Todes sterben. Ist er ein Gott, so hadere er selber mit ihm, weil er seinen Altar niedergerissen hat.
32 Fro that dai Gedeon was clepid Gerobaal, for Joas hadde seid, Baal take veniaunce of hym that castide doun his auter.
Und an dem Tage hieß man ihn Jerubbaal, indem man sprach: Es hadere Baal mit ihm, weil er seinen Altar niedergerissen hat.
33 Therfor al Madian, and Amalech, and the puplis of the eest weren gadirid to gidere, and passiden Jordan, and settiden tentis in the valey of Jezrael.
Und ganz Midjan und Amalek und die Söhne des Ostens sammelten sich allzumal und setzten über und lagerten sich im Talgrunde Jesreel.
34 Forsothe the spirit of the Lord clothide Gedeon; `and he sownede with a clarioun, and clepide to gidere the hows of Abiezer, that it schulde sue hym.
Und der Geist Gottes zog Gideon an, und er stieß in die Posaune und Abieser ward gerufen, ihm nach.
35 And he sente messangeris in to al Manasses, and he suede Gedeon; and he sente othere messangeris in to Aser, and Zabulon, and Neptalym, whiche camen to hym.
Und er sandte Boten in ganz Menascheh, und auch dieses ward gerufen ihm nach; und nach Ascher und Sebulun und Naphthali sandte er Boten, und sie zogen herauf, ihnen entgegen.
36 And Gedeon seide to the Lord, If thou makist saaf Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke,
Und Gideon sprach zu Gott: Wenn Du Israel durch meine Hand retten willst, wie Du gesagt hast;
37 Y schal putte this flees of wolle in the corn floor; if dew is in the flees aloone, and drynesse is in al the erthe, Y schal wite, that thou schalt delyuere Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke.
Siehe, so lege ich die Wollenschur in die Tenne. Wenn Tau auf der Schur allein und die ganze Erde trocken sein wird, so weiß ich, daß Du Israel durch meine Hand retten willst, wie Du gesagt hast.
38 And it was don so. And he roos bi nyyt, and whanne the flees was wrongun out, he fillide a pot with deew;
Und es geschah also. Und am morgenden Tage stand er früh auf und drückte die Schur zusammen, und drückte den Tau aus von der Schur, eine Schale voll Wassers.
39 and he seide eft to the Lord, Thi strong veniaunce be not wrooth ayens me, if Y asaie, `that is, axe a signe, yit onys, and seke a signe in the flees; Y preye, that the flees aloone be drie, and al the erthe be moist with deew.
Und Gideon sprach zu Gott: Dein Zorn wird nicht entbrennen wider mich, daß ich nur diesmal rede. Ich will nur noch diesmal versuchen mit der Schur: Laß es doch auf der Schur allein trocken sein, und auf der ganzen Erde sei Tau.
40 And the Lord dide in that nyyt, as Gedeon axide; and drynesse was in the flees aloone, and deew was in al the erthe.
Und Gott tat also in selbiger Nacht: Trockenheit war auf der Schur allein, und auf der ganzen Erde war Tau.
