1 Forsothe the sones of Israel diden yuel in the `siyt of the Lord, and he bitook hem in the hond of Madian seuene yeer.

2 And thei weren oppressid of hem greetly; and `thei maden dichis, and dennes to hem silf in hillis, and strongeste places to fiyte ayen.
and be strong hand: power Midian upon Israel from face: because Midian to make to/for them son: descendant/people Israel [obj] [the] cave which in/on/with mountain: mount and [obj] [the] cave and [obj] [the] stronghold
3 And whanne Israel hadde sowe, Madian stiede, and Amalech, and othere of the `naciouns of the eest;
and to be if to sow Israel and to ascend: rise Midian and Amalek and son: descendant/people East and to ascend: rise upon him
4 and thei settiden tentis at the sones of Israel, and wastiden alle thingis `as tho weren in eerbis, ethir grene corn, `til to the entryng of Gaza, and outirli thei leften not in Israel ony thing perteynynge to lijf, not scheep, not oxun, not assis.
and to camp upon them and to ruin [obj] crops [the] land: country/planet till to come (in): towards you Gaza and not to remain recovery in/on/with Israel and sheep and cattle and donkey
5 For thei and alle her flockis camen with her tabernaclis, and at the licnesse of locustus thei filliden alle thingis, and a multitude of men and of camels was with out noumbre, and wastiden what euer thing thei touchiden.
for they(masc.) and livestock their to ascend: rise and tent their (and to come (in): come *Q(K)*) like/as sufficiency locust to/for abundance and to/for them and to/for camel their nothing number and to come (in): come in/on/with land: country/planet to/for to ruin her
6 And Israel was `maad low greetli in the siyt of Madian.
and to languish Israel much from face: because Midian and to cry out son: descendant/people Israel to(wards) LORD
7 And Israel criede to the Lord, `and axyde help ayens Madianytis; and he sente to hem a man,
and to be for to cry out son: descendant/people Israel to(wards) LORD upon because Midian
8 a profete, and he spak, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Y made you to stie fro Egipt, and Y ledde you out of the hows of seruage,
and to send: depart LORD man prophet to(wards) son: descendant/people Israel and to say to/for them thus to say LORD God Israel I to ascend: establish [obj] you from Egypt and to come out: send [obj] you from house: home servant/slave
9 and Y delyueride you fro the hond of Egipcians, and of alle enemyes that turmentiden you; and Y castide hem out at youre entryng, and Y yaf to you `the lond of hem;
and to rescue [obj] you from hand: power Egyptian and from hand: power all to oppress you and to drive out: drive out [obj] them from face: before your and to give: give [emph?] to/for you [obj] land: country/planet their
10 and Y seide, Y am `youre Lord God; drede ye not the goddis of Ammorreis, in whose lond ye dwellen; and ye nolden here my vois.
and to say [emph?] to/for you I LORD God your not to fear: revere [obj] God [the] Amorite which you(m. p.) to dwell in/on/with land: country/planet their and not to hear: obey in/on/with voice my
11 Forsothe an aungel of the Lord cam, and sat undur an ook, that was in Effra, and perteynede to Joas, fadir of the meinee of Ezri. And whanne Gedeon, `his sone, threischide out, and purgide wheetis in a pressour,
and to come (in): come messenger: angel LORD and to dwell underneath: under [the] oak which in/on/with Ophrah which to/for Joash Abiezrite [the] Abiezrite and Gideon son: child his to beat wheat in/on/with wine press to/for to flee from face of Midian
12 that he schulde fle Madian, an aungel of the Lord apperide to hym, and seide, The Lord be with thee, thou strongeste of men.
and to see: seer to(wards) him messenger: angel LORD and to say to(wards) him LORD with you mighty man [the] strength
13 And Gedeon seide to hym, My lord, Y biseche, if the Lord is with vs, whi therfor han alle these yuels take vs? Where ben the merueils of hym, whiche oure fadris telden, and seiden, The Lord ledde vs out of Egipt? `Now forsothe he hath forsake vs, and hath bitake vs in the hond of Madian.
and to say to(wards) him Gideon please lord my and there LORD with us and to/for what? to find us all this and where? all to wonder his which to recount to/for us father our to/for to say not from Egypt to ascend: establish us LORD and now to leave us LORD and to give: give us in/on/with palm Midian
14 And the Lord bihelde to hym, and seide, Go thou in this strengthe of thee, and thou schalt delyuere Israel fro the hond of Madian; wite thou, that Y sente thee.
and to turn to(wards) him LORD and to say to go: went in/on/with strength your this and to save [obj] Israel from palm Midian not to send: depart you
15 Which Gedeon answeride, and seide, My lord, Y biseche, in what thing schal Y delyuere Israel? Lo! my meynee is the loweste in Manasses, and Y am the leeste in the hows of my fadir.
and to say to(wards) him please Lord in/on/with what? to save [obj] Israel behold thousand: clan my [the] poor in/on/with Manasseh and I [the] little in/on/with house: household father my
16 And the Lord seide to hym, Y schal be with thee, and thou schalt smyte Madian as o man.
and to say to(wards) him LORD for to be with you and to smite [obj] Midian like/as man one
17 And Gedeon seide, If Y haue foundun grace bifor thee, yyue to me a signe, that thou, that spekist to me, art sente of Goddis part;
and to say to(wards) him if please to find favor in/on/with eye your and to make: do to/for me sign: miraculous which/that you(m. s.) to speak: speak with me
18 go thou not `awei fro hennus, til Y turne ayen to thee, and brynge sacrifice, and offre to thee. Whiche answeride, Y schal abide thi comyng.

19 And so Gedeon entride, and sethide a kide, and took therf looues of a buyschel of mell, and fleischis in a panyere; and he sente the broth of fleischis in a pot, and bar alle thingis vndur an ook, and offride to hym.
and Gideon to come (in): come and to make: offer kid goat and ephah flour unleavened bread [the] flesh to set: put in/on/with basket and [the] broth to set: put in/on/with pot and to come out: send to(wards) him to(wards) underneath: under [the] oak and to approach: bring
20 To whom the aungel of the Lord seide, Take thou the fleischis, and therf looues, and putte on that stoon, and schede the broth aboue. And whanne he hadde do so,
and to say to(wards) him messenger: angel [the] God to take: take [obj] [the] flesh and [obj] [the] unleavened bread and to rest to(wards) [the] crag this and [obj] [the] broth to pour: pour and to make: do so
21 the aungel of the Lord helde forth the `ende of the yerde which he helde in the hond, and he touchide the fleischis, and the therf looues; and fier stiede fro the stoon, and wastide the fleischis, and therf looues. Forsothe the aungel of the Lord vanyschide fro hise iyen.
and to send: reach messenger: angel LORD [obj] end [the] staff which in/on/with hand his and to touch in/on/with flesh and in/on/with unleavened bread and to ascend: rise [the] fire from [the] rock and to eat [obj] [the] flesh and [obj] [the] unleavened bread and messenger: angel LORD to go: went from eye: seeing his
22 And Gedeon siy that he was `an aungel of the Lord, and seide, Lord God, alas to me, for Y siy the aungel of the Lord face to face.
and to see: examine Gideon for messenger: angel LORD he/she/it and to say Gideon alas! Lord YHWH/God for as that: since as as to see: see messenger: angel LORD face to(wards) face
23 And the Lord seide to hym, Pees be with thee; drede thou not, thou schalt not die.
and to say to/for him LORD peace to/for you not to fear not to die
24 Therfor Gedeon bildide there an auter to the Lord, and he clepide it the Pees of the Lord, `til in to present dai. And whanne he was yit in Effra, which is of the meynee of Ezri, the Lord seide to hym in that nyyt,
and to build there Gideon altar to/for LORD and to call: call by to/for him LORD Peace till [the] day: today [the] this still he in/on/with Ophrah Abiezrite [the] Abiezrite
25 Take thou `the bole of thy fadir, and anothir bole of seuene yeer, and thou schalt distrie the auter of Baal, which is thi fadris, and kitte thou doun the wode, which is aboute the auter;
and to be in/on/with night [the] he/she/it and to say to/for him LORD to take: take [obj] bullock [the] cattle which to/for father your and bullock [the] second seven year and to overthrow [obj] altar [the] Baal which to/for father your and [obj] [the] Asherah which upon him to cut: cut
26 and thou schalt bilde an auter to thi Lord God in the hiynesse of this stoon, on which thou puttidist sacrifice bifore; and thou schalt take the secounde bole, and thou schalt offre brent sacrifice on the heep of trees, whiche thou kittidist doun of the wode.
and to build altar to/for LORD God your upon head: top [the] security [the] this in/on/with rank and to take: take [obj] [the] bullock [the] second and to ascend: offer up burnt offering in/on/with tree: wood [the] Asherah which to cut: cut
27 Therfore Gedeon took ten men of hise seruauntis, and dide as the Lord comaundide to hym. Sotheli Gedeon dredde the hows of his fadir, and the men of that citee, and nolde do bi dai, but fillide alle thingis bi nyyt.
and to take: take Gideon ten human from servant/slave his and to make: do like/as as which to speak: speak to(wards) him LORD and to be like/as as which to fear [obj] house: household father his and [obj] human [the] city from to make: do by day and to make: do night
28 And whanne men of that citee hadde rise eerly, thei sien the auter of Baal distried, and the wode kit doun, and the tothir bole put on the auter, that was bildid thanne.
and to rise human [the] city in/on/with morning and behold to tear altar [the] Baal and [the] Asherah which upon him to cut: cut and [obj] [the] bullock [the] second to ascend: offer up upon [the] altar [the] to build
29 And thei seiden togidere, Who hath do this? And whanne thei enqueriden the doer of the deed, it was seid, Gedeon, the sone of Joas, dide alle these thingis.
and to say man: anyone to(wards) neighbor his who? to make: do [the] word: thing [the] this and to seek and to seek and to say Gideon son: child Joash to make: do [the] word: thing [the] this
30 And thei seiden to Joas, Brynge forth thi sone hidur, that he die, for he distriede the auter of Baal, and kittide doun the wode.
and to say human [the] city to(wards) Joash to come out: send [obj] son: child your and to die for to tear [obj] altar [the] Baal and for to cut: cut [the] Asherah which upon him
31 To whiche he answeride, Whether ye ben the venieris of Baal, that ye fiyte for hym? he that is aduersarie of hym, die, bifor that the `liyt of the morew dai come; if he is God, venge he hym silf of hym that castide doun his auter.
and to say Joash to/for all which to stand: stand upon him you(m. p.) to contend [emph?] to/for Baal if you(m. p.) to save [emph?] [obj] him which to contend to/for him to die till [the] morning if God he/she/it to contend to/for him for to tear [obj] altar his
32 Fro that dai Gedeon was clepid Gerobaal, for Joas hadde seid, Baal take veniaunce of hym that castide doun his auter.
and to call: call by to/for him in/on/with day [the] he/she/it Jerubbaal to/for to say to contend in/on/with him [the] Baal for to tear [obj] altar his
33 Therfor al Madian, and Amalech, and the puplis of the eest weren gadirid to gidere, and passiden Jordan, and settiden tentis in the valey of Jezrael.
and all Midian and Amalek and son: descendant/people East to gather together and to pass and to camp in/on/with Valley (of Jezreel) (Valley of) Jezreel
34 Forsothe the spirit of the Lord clothide Gedeon; `and he sownede with a clarioun, and clepide to gidere the hows of Abiezer, that it schulde sue hym.
and spirit LORD to clothe [obj] Gideon and to blow in/on/with trumpet (and to cry out *L(abh)*) Abiezer after him
35 And he sente messangeris in to al Manasses, and he suede Gedeon; and he sente othere messangeris in to Aser, and Zabulon, and Neptalym, whiche camen to hym.
and messenger to send: depart in/on/with all Manasseh (and to cry out *L(abh)*) also he/she/it after him and messenger to send: depart in/on/with Asher and in/on/with Zebulun and in/on/with Naphtali and to ascend: rise to/for to encounter: meet them
36 And Gedeon seide to the Lord, If thou makist saaf Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke,
and to say Gideon to(wards) [the] God if there you to save in/on/with hand: power my [obj] Israel like/as as which to speak: speak
37 Y schal putte this flees of wolle in the corn floor; if dew is in the flees aloone, and drynesse is in al the erthe, Y schal wite, that thou schalt delyuere Israel bi myn hond, as thou hast spoke.
behold I to set [obj] fleece [the] wool in/on/with threshing floor if dew to be upon [the] fleece to/for alone her and upon all [the] land: soil drought and to know for to save in/on/with hand: power my [obj] Israel like/as as which to speak: speak
38 And it was don so. And he roos bi nyyt, and whanne the flees was wrongun out, he fillide a pot with deew;
and to be so and to rise from morrow and to crush [obj] [the] fleece and to drain dew from [the] fleece fullness [the] bowl water
39 and he seide eft to the Lord, Thi strong veniaunce be not wrooth ayens me, if Y asaie, `that is, axe a signe, yit onys, and seke a signe in the flees; Y preye, that the flees aloone be drie, and al the erthe be moist with deew.
and to say Gideon to(wards) [the] God not to be incensed face: anger your in/on/with me and to speak: speak surely [the] beat to test please except [the] beat in/on/with fleece to be please drought to(wards) [the] fleece to/for alone her and upon all [the] land: soil to be dew
40 And the Lord dide in that nyyt, as Gedeon axide; and drynesse was in the flees aloone, and deew was in al the erthe.
and to make: do God so in/on/with night [the] he/she/it and to be drought to(wards) [the] fleece to/for alone her and upon all [the] land: soil to be dew
