1 And the sones of Israel addiden to do yuel in the `siyt of the Lord, aftir the deeth of Aioth.
A po śmierci Ehuda synowie Izraela znowu czynili to, co złe w oczach PANA.
2 And the Lord bitook hem in to the hondis of Jabyn, kyng of Canaan, that regnede in Asor; and he hadde a duyk of his oost, Sisara bi name; and he dwellide in Aroseth of hethene men.
I PAN wydał ich w ręce Jabina, króla Kanaanu, który królował w Chasor. Dowódcą jego wojska był Sisera, który mieszkał w pogańskim Charoszet.
3 And the sones of Israel crieden to the Lord; for he hadde nyn hundrid yrone charis, keruynge as sithis, and twenti yeer he oppresside hem greetli.
I synowie Izraela wołali do PANA. Miał tamten bowiem dziewięćset żelaznych rydwanów i mocno uciskał synów Izraela przez dwadzieścia lat.
4 Forsothe Delbora was a prophetesse, the wijf of Lapidoth, which Delbora demyde the puple in that tyme;
W tym czasie sądziła Izraela prorokini Debora, żona Lappidota.
5 and sche sat vndur a palm tree, that was clepid bi her name, bitwixe Rama and Bethel, in the hil of Effraym; and the sones of Israel stieden to hir at ech dom.
I mieszkała pod palmą Debory, między Rama a Betel, na górze Efraim, a synowie Izraela przychodzili do niej na sąd.
6 And sche sente, and clepide Barach, the sone of Abynoen, of Cedes of Neptalym, and sche seide to hym, The Lord God of Israel comaundide to thee, Go thou, and lede an oost in to the hil of Thabor, and thou schalt take with thee ten thousande `of fiyteris of the sones of Neptalym and of the sones of Zabulon.
Posłała ona i wezwała Baraka, syna Abinoama, z Kedesz-Neftali, i powiedziała do niego: Czy PAN, Bóg Izraela nie rozkazał: Idź, udaj się na górę Tabor i weź ze sobą dziesięć tysięcy mężczyzn z synów Neftalego i z synów Zebulona?
7 Sotheli Y schal brynge to thee, in the place of the stronde of Cison, Sisara, prince of `the oost of Jabyn, and his charis, and al the multitude; and Y schal bitake hem in thin hond.
I przyprowadzę do ciebie, do rzeki Kiszon, Siserę, dowódcę wojska Jabina, jego rydwany i jego liczne oddziały, i wydam go w twoje ręce.
8 And Barach seide to hir, If thou comest with me, Y schal go; if thou nylt come with me, Y schal not go.
Barak zaś powiedział do niej: Jeśli pójdziesz ze mną, pójdę, lecz jeśli nie pójdziesz ze mną, nie pójdę.
9 And sche seyde to hym, Sotheli Y schal go with thee; but in this tyme the victorie schal not be arettide to thee; for Sisara schal be bitakun in the hond of a womman. Therfor Delbora roos, and yede with Barach in to Cedes.
Ona odpowiedziała: Na pewno pójdę z tobą. Nie tobie jednak przypadnie chwała z tej wyprawy, na którą wyruszysz. PAN bowiem wyda Siserę w ręce kobiety. I Debora wstała, i udała się z Barakiem do Kedesz.
10 And whanne Zabulon and Neptalym weren clepid, he stiede with ten thousynde of fiyteris, and hadde Delbora in his felouschipe.
Wtedy Barak wezwał Zebulona i Neftalego do Kedesz i wyruszył, a za nim dziesięć tysięcy mężczyzn. Szła z nim także Debora.
11 Forsothe Aber of Cyneth hadde departid sum tyme fro othere Cyneys hise britheren, sones of Obab, `alie of Moises; and he hadde set forth tabernaclis `til to the valei, which is clepid Sennym, and was bisidis Cedes.
A Cheber Kenita odłączył się od Kenitów, od synów Chobaba, teścia Mojżesza, i rozbił swój namiot aż do równin w Saananim, które jest przy Kedesz.
12 And it was teld to Sisara, that Barach, sone of Abynoen, hadde stiede in to the hil of Thabor.
I doniesiono Siserze, że Barak, syn Abinoama, wyruszył na górę Tabor.
13 And he gaderide nyn hundrid yronne charis, keruynge as sithis, and al the oost fro Aroseth of hethene men to the stronde of Cison.
Sisera zebrał więc wszystkie swoje rydwany, [to jest] dziewięćset żelaznych rydwanów, oraz cały lud, który z nim był, od pogańskiego Charoszet aż do rzeki Kiszon.
14 And Delbora seide to Barach, Rise thou, for this is the day, in which the Lord bitook Sisara in to thin hondis; lo! the Lord is thi ledere. And so Barach cam doun fro the hil of Thabor, and ten thousynde of fyyteris with hym.
Wtedy Debora powiedziała do Baraka: Wstań, bo to jest dzień, w którym PAN wyda Siserę w twoje ręce. Czyż PAN nie idzie przed tobą? Barak zszedł więc z góry Tabor, a dziesięć tysięcy mężczyzn [zeszło] za nim.
15 And the Lord made aferd Sisara, and alle `the charis of hym, and al the multitude, bi the scharpnesse of swerd, at the siyt of Barach, in so myche that Sisara lippide doun of the chare, and fledde `a foote.
I PAN rozgromił Siserę, wszystkie wozy oraz całe jego wojsko ostrzem miecza przed Barakiem, tak że Sisera zeskoczył z rydwanu i uciekał pieszo.
16 And Barach pursuede the charis fleynge and the oost `til to Aroseth of hethene men; and al the multitude of enemyes felde doun `til to deeth.
Lecz Barak ścigał rydwany i wojsko aż do pogańskiego Charoszet. I poległo od ostrza miecza całe wojsko Sisery; nie pozostał ani jeden [z jego wojowników].
17 Sotheli Sisara fledde, and cam to the tente of Jahel, the wijf of Aber Cyney; forsothe pees waas bitwixe Jabyn, kyng of Asor, and bitwixe the hows of Aber Cyney.
A Sisera uciekł pieszo do namiotu Jael, żony Chebera Kenity, ponieważ panował pokój między Jabinem, królem Chasoru, a domem Chebera Kenity.
18 Therfor Jahel yede out in to the comyng of Sisara, and seide to hym, My lord, entre thou to me, entre thou to me; drede thou not. And he entride in to `the tabernacle of hir, and was hilid of hir with a mentil.
A Jael wyszła naprzeciw Siserze i powiedziała do niego: Wejdź, mój panie, wejdź do mnie, nie bój się. Wszedł więc do niej do namiotu, a [ona] przykryła go kocem.
19 And he seide to hir, Y biseche, yyue `thou to me a litil of watir, for Y thirste greetli. And sche openyde a `botel of mylk, and yaf to hym to drynke, and hilide hym.
Wtedy powiedział do niej: Daj mi, proszę, napić się trochę wody, bo jestem spragniony. A ona otworzyła bukłak z mlekiem, dała mu się napić i przykryła go.
20 And Sisara seide to hir, Stonde thou bifor the dore of the tabernacle, and whanne ony man cometh, and axith thee, and seith, Whether ony man is here? thou schalt answere, No man is here.
I powiedział do niej: Stój przy wejściu do namiotu, a jeśli ktoś przyjdzie i zapyta cię: Czy jest tu ktoś? – odpowiesz: Nie ma.
21 And so Jahel, the wijf of Aber, took a nayl of the tabernacle, and sche took also an hamer; and sche entride pryueli, and puttide with silence the nail on the temple of his heed, and sche fastnede the nail smytun with the hamer in to the brayn, `til to the erthe; and he slepte, and diede to gidere, and failide, and was deed.
Potem Jael, żona Chebera, wzięła kołek od namiotu, chwyciła do ręki młot, podeszła do niego po cichu i wbiła kołek w jego skroń, tak że ten utkwił w ziemi, bo on [twardo] spał, gdyż był zmęczony. I w ten sposób umarł.
22 And lo! Barach suede Sisara, `and cam; and Jahel yede out in to his comyng, and seide to hym, Come, and Y schal schewe to thee the man, whom thou sekist. And whanne he hadde entrid to hir, he siy Sisara liggynge deed, and a nail fastnede in to hise templis.
Tymczasem Barak ścigał Siserę i Jael wyszła mu naprzeciw, i powiedziała do niego: Chodź, a pokażę ci człowieka, którego szukasz. I wstąpił do niej, a oto Sisera leżał martwy z kołkiem w skroni.
23 Therfor in that day God `made low Jabyn, the kyng of Canaan, bifor the sones of Israel;
Tak Bóg tego dnia poniżył przed synami Izraela Jabina, króla Kanaanu.
24 whiche encresiden ech dai, and with strong hond oppressiden Jabyn, the kyng of Canaan, til thei diden hym awey.
I ręka synów Izraela coraz bardziej nacierała na Jabina, króla Kanaanu, i uciskała go, aż zgładzili Jabina, króla Kanaanu.
