Joshua 8
1 Forsothe the Lord seide to Josue, Nether drede thou `withoutforth, `nether drede thou withynne; take with thee al the multitude of fiyteris, and rise thou, and stie in to the citee of Hay; lo, Y haue bitake in thin hond the king therof, and the puple, and the citee, and the lond.
Und der HERR sprach zu Josua: Fürchte dich nicht und zage nicht! Nimm mit dir alles Kriegsvolk und mache dich auf und zeuch hinauf gen Ai! Siehe da, ich habe den König Als samt seinem Volk in seiner Stadt und Land in deine Hände gegeben.
2 And thou schalt do to the citee of Hay, and to the king therof, as thou didist to Gerico, and to the king therof; sotheli ye schulen take to you the prey, and alle lyuynge beestis; sette thou `aspies, ethir buyschementis, to the citee bihynde it.
Und sollst mit Ai und ihrem Könige tun, wie du mit Jericho und ihrem Könige getan hast, ohne daß ihr ihren Raub ihr Vieh unter euch teilen sollt. Aber bestelle einen Hinterhalt hinter der Stadt.
3 And Josue roos, and al the oost of fiyteris with hym, to stie in to Hay; and bi nyyte he sente thretti chosen thousynde of stronge men;
Da machte sich Josua auf und alles Kriegsvolk, hinaufzuziehen gen Ai. Und Josua erwählte dreißigtausend streitbare Männer und sandte sie aus bei der Nacht.
4 and comaundide to hem, and seide, Sette ye buyschementis bihynde the citee, and go ye not ferthere; and alle ye schulen be redi;
Und gebot ihnen und sprach: Sehet zu, ihr sollt der Hinterhalt sein hinter der Stadt; machet euch aber nicht allzu ferne von der Stadt und seid allesamt bereit!
5 forsothe Y, and the tothir multitude which is with me, schulen come on the contrarie side ayens the citee; and whanne thei schulen go out ayens vs, as we diden bifore, we schulen fle, and turne the backis,
Ich aber und alles Volk, das mit mir ist, wollen uns zu der Stadt machen. Und wenn sie uns entgegen herausfahren wie vorhin, so wollen wir vor ihnen fliehen,
6 til thei pursuen, and ben drawun away ferthir fro the citee; for thei schulen gesse, that we schulen fle as bifore.
daß sie uns nachfolgen heraus, bis daß wir sie heraus von der Stadt reißen. Denn sie werden gedenken, wir fliehen vor ihnen wie vorhin. Und weil wir vor ihnen fliehen,
7 Therfor while we schulen fle, and thei pursue, ye schulen ryse fro the buyschementis, and schulen waste the citee; and youre Lord God schal bitake it in to youre hondis.
sollt ihr euch aufmachen aus dem Hinterhalt und die Stadt einnehmen; denn der HERR, eurer Gott, wird sie in eure Hände geben.
8 And whanne ye han take it, `brenne ye it; `so ye schulen do alle thingis, as Y comaundide.
Wenn ihr aber die Stadt eingenommen habt, so stecket sie an mit Feuer und tut nach dem Wort des HERRN. Siehe, ich hab's euch geboten.
9 And Josue lefte hem, and thei yeden to the place of buyschementis, and saten bitwixe Bethel and Hay, at the west coost of the citee of Hay. Forsothe Josue dwellide `in that nyyt in the myddis of the puple.
Also sandte sie Josua hin; und sie gingen hin auf den Hinterhalt und hielten zwischen Bethel und Ai gegen abendwärts an Ai. Josua aber blieb die Nacht unter dem Volk.
10 And he roos eerli, and noumbride felowis, and stiede with the eldere in the frount of the oost, and was cumpassid with the helpe of fiyteris.
Und machte sich des Morgens frühe auf und ordnete das Volk und zog hinauf mit den Ältesten Israels vor dem Volk her gen Ai.
11 And whanne thei hadden come, and hadden stied ayens the citee, thei stoden at the north coost of the citee, bitwixe which citee and hem the valei was in the myddis.
Und alles Kriegsvolk, das bei ihm war, zog hinauf; und traten herzu und kamen gegen die Stadt und lagerten sich gegen Mitternacht vor Ai, daß nur ein Tal war zwischen ihm und Ai.
12 `Sotheli he hadde chose fyue thousynde men, and hadde sette in buyschementis bitwixe Bethauen and Hay, in the west part of the same citee.
Er hätte aber bei fünftausend Mann genommen und auf den Hinterhalt gestellet zwischen Bethel und Ai gegen abendwärts der Stadt.
13 Sotheli al the tothir oost dresside scheltroun to the north, so that the laste men of the multitude touchiden the west coost of the citee. Therfor Josue yede in that nyyt, and stood in the myddis of the valei;
Und sie stelleten das Volk des ganzen Lagers, das gegen Mitternacht der Stadt war, daß sein Letztes reichte gegen den Abend der Stadt. Also ging Josua hin in derselbigen Nacht mitten in das Tal.
14 and whanne the kyng of Hai had seyn that, he hastide eerli, and yede out with al the oost of the citee, and he dresside scheltrun ayens the deseert; and wiste not that buyschementis weren hid bihinde the bak.
Als aber der König zu Ai das sah, eileten sie und machten sich frühe auf, und die Männer der Stadt heraus, Israel zu begegnen zum Streit, mit all seinem Volk an einen bestimmten Ort vor dem Gefilde. Denn er wußte nicht, daß ein Hinterhalt auf ihn war hinter der Stadt.
15 Forsothe Josue and al the multitude `of Israel yauen place, feynynge drede, and fleynge bi the weie of wildirnesse; and thei crieden togidere,
Josua aber und ganz Israel stelleten sich, als würden sie geschlagen vor ihnen, und flohen auf dem Wege zur Wüste.
16 and excitiden hem silf togidere, and pursueden hem. And whanne thei hadden go awey fro the citee,
Da schrie das ganze Volk in der Stadt, daß man ihnen sollte nachjagen.
17 and sothely not oon hadde left in the citee of Hai and Bethauen, that `pursuede not Israel, and thei leften the citees opyn, as thei hadden broke out,
Und sie jagten auch Josua nach und rissen sich von der Stadt heraus, daß nicht ein Mann überblieb in Ai und Bethel, der nicht ausgezogen wäre, Israel nachzujagen; und ließen die Stadt offen stehen, daß sie Israel nachjagten.
18 the Lord seide to Josue, `Reise thou the scheeld which is in thin hond, ayens the citee of Hay; for Y schal yyue it to thee.
Da sprach der HERR zu Josua: Recke aus die Lanze in deiner Hand gegen Ai, denn ich will sie in deine Hand geben. Und da Josua die Lanze in seiner Hand gegen die Stadt ausreckte,
19 And whanne he hadde reisid the scheld ayens the citee, buyschementis, that weren hid, riseden anoon; and thei yeden to the citee, and token, and brenten it.
da brach der Hinterhalt auf eilend aus seinem Ort, und liefen, nachdem er seine Hand ausstreckte, und kamen in die Stadt und gewannen sie; und eileten und steckten sie mit Feuer an.
20 Forsothe the men of the citee, that pursueden Josue, bihelden, and siyen the smoke of the citee stie `til to heuene; and thei myyten no more fle hidur and thidur; most sithen thei that hadden feyned fliyt, and yeden to wildirnesse, withstoden stronglieste `ayens the pursueris.
Und die Männer von Ai wandten sich und sahen hinter sich und sahen den Rauch der Stadt aufgehen gen Himmel und hatten nicht Raum zu fliehen, weder hin noch her. Und das Volk, das zur Wüste floh, kehrete sich um, ihnen nachzujagen.
21 And Josue siy, and al Israel, that the citee was takun, and the smoke of the citee stiede; and he turnede ayen, and smoot the men of Hay.
Denn da Josua und das ganze Israel sah, daß der Hinterhalt die Stadt gewonnen hatte, weil der Stadt Rauch aufging, kehreten sie wieder um und schlugen die Männer von Ai.
22 Sotheli also thei that hadden take and brent the citee, yeden out of the cytee ayens her men, and bigunnen to smyte the myddil men of enemyes; and whanne aduersaries weren slayn `on euer ethir part, so that no man of so greet multitude was sauyd,
Und die in der Stadt kamen auch heraus ihnen entgegen, daß sie mitten unter Israel kamen von dorther und von hieher; und schlugen sie, bis daß niemand unter ihnen überblieb noch entrinnen konnte.
23 thei tokun also the kyng of Hay lyuynge, and brouyten to Josue.
Und griffen den König zu Ai lebendig und brachten ihn zu Josua.
24 Therfor, whanne alle men weren slayn, that pursueden Israel goynge to deseert, and felden bi swerd in the same place, the sones of Israel turneden ayen, and smytiden the citee.
Und da Israel alle Einwohner zu Ai hatte erwürget auf dem Felde und in der Wüste, die ihnen nachgejagt hatten, und fielen alle durch die Schärfe des Schwerts, bis daß sie alle umkamen, da kehrete sich ganz Israel zu Ai und schlugen sie mit der Schärfe des Schwerts.
25 Forsothe thei that `felden doun in the same dai, fro man `til to womman, weren twelue thousynde of men, alle men of the citee of Hay.
Und alle, die des Tages fielen, beide Mann und Weiber, der waren zwölftausend, alles Leute von Ai.
26 Sotheli Josue withdrow not the hond, which he hadde dressid an hiy holdynge `the scheld, til alle the dwelleris of Hay weren slayn.
Josua aber zog nicht wieder ab seine Hand, damit er die Lanze ausreckte, bis daß verbannet wurden alle Einwohner Ais
27 Forsothe the sones of Israel departiden to hem silf the werk beestis, and the preye of the citee, as the Lord comaundide to Josue;
Ohne das Vieh und den Raub der Stadt teilete Israel aus unter sich nach dem Wort des HERRN, das er Josua geboten hatte.
28 which brente the citee, and made it an euerlastynge biriel.
Und Josua brannte Ai aus und machte einen Haufen daraus ewiglich, der noch heute da liegt.
29 And he hangide the king therof in a iebat, `til to the euentid and the goynge doun of the sunne. And Josue comaundide, and thei puttiden doun his deed bodi fro the cros; and thei `castiden forth him in thilke entryng of the citee, and gaderiden on hym a greet heep of stoonus, which heep dwellith `til in to present dai.
Und ließ den König zu Ai an einen Baum hängen bis an den Abend. Da aber die Sonne war untergegangen, gebot er, daß man seinen Leichnam vom Baum täte; und warfen ihn unter der Stadt Tor und machten einen großen Steinhaufen auf ihn, der bis auf diesen Tag da ist.
30 Thanne Josue bildide an auter to the Lord God of Israel in the hil of Hebal,
Da bauete Josua dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels, einen Altar auf dem Berge Ebal
31 as Moises, the `seruaunt of the Lord, comaundide to the sones of Israel, and it is writun in the book of Moises lawe, an auter of stoonys vnpolischid, whiche yrun touchide not. And he offride theron brent sacrifice to the Lord, and he offride pesible sacrifices;
(wie Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, geboten hatte den Kindern Israel, als geschrieben stehet im Gesetzbuch Moses, einen Altar von ganzen Steinen, die mit keinem Eisen behauen waren) und opferte dem HERRN drauf Brandopfer und Dankopfer.
32 and he wroot on the stoonys the Deutronomye of Moises lawe, `which he hadde declarid bifor the sones of Israel.
Und schrieb daselbst auf die Steine das andere Gesetz, das Mose den Kindern Israel vorgeschrieben hatte.
33 Sotheli al the puple, and the grettere men in birthe, and the duykis, and iugis stoden on `euer either side of the arke, in the siyt of preestis and dekenes, that baren the arke of boond of pees of the Lord; as a comeling, so and a man borun in the lond; the mydil part of hem stood bisidis the hil Garasym, and the myddil part stood bisidis the hil Hebal, as Moises, the `seruaunt of the Lord, comaundide. And first `sotheli he blesside the puple of Israel.
Und das ganze Israel mit seinen Ältesten und Amtleuten und Richtern stunden zu beiden Seiten der Lade gegen den Priestern aus Levi, die die Lade des Bundes des HERRN trugen, die Fremdlinge sowohl als die Einheimischen, eine Hälfte neben dem Berge Grisim und die andere Hälfte neben dem Berge Ebal, wie Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, vorhin geboten hatte, zu segnen das Volk Israel.
34 Aftir these thingis he redde alle the wordis of blessyng and of cursyng, and alle thingis that weren writun in the book of lawe.
Danach ließ er ausrufen alle Worte des Gesetzes vom Segen und Fluch, wie es geschrieben stehet im Gesetzbuch.
35 He lefte no thing vntouchid of these thingis that Moises comaundide; but he declaride alle thingis bifor al the multitude of Israel, to wymmen, and litle children, and to comelyngis that dwelliden among hem.
Es war kein Wort, das Mose geboten hatte, das Josua nicht hätte lassen ausrufen vor der ganzen Gemeine Israel und vor den Weibern und Kindern und Fremdlingen, die unter ihnen wandelten.
