Joshua 17
1 Forsothe lot felde in to the lynage of Manasse, for he is the firste gendrid sone of Joseph; lot felde to Machir, the firste gendrid sone of Manasses, to the fadir of Galaad, that was a werriour, and he hadde possessioun Galaad and Basan.
E LA sorte che [scadde] alla tribù di Manasse (quantunque egli fosse il primogenito di Giuseppe), [fu questa: Alla nazione di] Machir, primogenito di Manasse, padre di Galaad, perchè [erano] uomini di guerra, scadde Galaad, e Basan.
2 And lot felde to the othere of the sones of Manasses, bi her meynees; to the sones of Abiezer, and to the sones of Heleth, and to the sones of Hesriel, and to the sones of Sichen, and to the sones of Epher, and to the sones of Semyda; these ben the sones of Manasse, sone of Joseph, the male children, bi her meynees.
Poi scadde [la sorte] agli altri figliuoli di Manasse, secondo le lor nazioni, [cioè: ] a' figliuoli di Abiezer, e a' figliuoli di Helec, e a' figliuoli di Asriel, e a' figliuoli di Sechem, e a' figliuoli di Hefer, e a' figliuoli di Semida. Questi [furono] i figliuoli maschi di Manasse, figliuoli di Giuseppe, [distinti] per le lor nazioni.
3 Sotheli to Salphaat, the sone of Epher, sone of Galaad, sone of Machir, sone of Manasses, weren not sones, but douytris aloone; of whiche these ben the names, Maala, and Noa, and Eegla, and Melcha, and Thersa.
Or Selofad, figliuolo di Hefer, figliuolo di Galaad, figliuolo di Machir, figliuolo di Manasse, non ebbe figliuoli, ma [sol] figliuole; delle quali i nomi [sono] Mahala, Noa, Hogla, Milca e Tirsa.
4 And thei camen in the siyt of Eleazar, preest, and of Josue, sone of Nun, and of the princes, and seiden, The Lord comaundide bi the hond of Moises, that possessioun should be youun to vs in the myddis of oure britheren. And Josue yaf to hem possessioun, bi comaundement of the Lord, in the myddis of the britheren of her fadir.
Ed esse si presentarono davanti al Sacerdote Eleazaro, e davanti a Giosuè, figliuolo di Nun, e davanti a' principali, dicendo: Il Signore comandò a Mosè di darci eredità per mezzo i nostri fratelli. [Giosuè] adunque diede loro eredità per mezzo i fratelli di lor padre, secondo il comandamento del Signore.
5 And ten cordis, `that is, londis mesurid bi ten cordis, felden to Manasses, without the lond of Galaad and of Basan biyende Jordan;
Scaddero adunque dieci parti a Manasse, oltre al paese di Galaad e di Basan, ch'[è] di là dal Giordano;
6 for the douytris of Manasses weldiden eritage in the myddis of the sones of hym. Sotheli the lond of Galaad felde in to the part of the sones of Manasses, that weren residue.
perciocchè [quelle] figliuole di Manasse ebbero eredità per mezzo i figliuoli di esso; e il paese di Galaad fu per lo rimanente de' figliuoli di Manasse.
7 And the terme of Manasses was fro Azer Machynathath, that biholdeth Sichem, and goith out to the riyt side, bisidis the dwelleris of the welle Taphue;
E il confine di Manasse, [dal lato] di Aser, fu Micmetat, che [è] dirimpetto a Sichem; poi questo confine andava a man destra verso gli abitanti di Entappua.
8 for the lond of Thaphue, which is bisidis the terme of Manasses, and of the sones of Effraym, felde in the lot of Manasses.
Il paese di Tappua fu di Manasse; ma Tappua, [che è] a' confini di Manasse, [fu] de' figliuoli di Efraim.
9 And the terme of the valey of place of rehedis goith doun in the south of the stronde of the citees of Effraym, that ben in the myddis of the citees of Manasses. The terme of Manasses is fro the north of the stronde, and the goyng out therof goith to the see;
Poi quel confine scendeva alla Valle delle canne; le città dal lato meridionale di detta valle [furono] di Efraim, per mezzo le città di Manasse; ma il confine di Manasse [fu] dal Settentrione di essa valle, e faceva capo al mare.
10 so that the possessioun of Effraym is fro the south, and the possessioun of Manasses fro the north, and the see closith euer either; and tho ben ioyned to hem silf in the linage of Aser fro the north, and in the lynage of Isachar fro the eest.
[Quello ch'era] verso il Mezzodì [fu] di Efraim, e [quello ch'era] verso il Settentrione [fu] di Manasse; e il mare era il lor confine; e dal Settentrione confinavano con Ascer, e dall'Oriente con Issacar.
11 And the eritage of Manasses was in Isachar and in Aser, Bersan, and the townes therof, and Jeblaan, with hise townes, and the dwellers of Dor, with her citees; and the dwelleris of Endor, with her townes, and also the dwelleris of Thanath, with her townes, and the dwelleris of Maiedo, with her townes, and the thridde part of the citee Nophet.
E Manasse ebbe in quel d'Issacar, e in quel di Aser, Bet-sean, e le terre del suo territorio; e Ibleam, e le terre del suo territorio; e gli abitanti di Dor, e le terre del suo territorio; e gli abitanti di Endor, e le terre del suo territorio; e gli abitanti di Taanac, e le terre del suo territorio; e gli abitanti di Meghiddo, e le terre del suo territorio; [che sono] tre contrade.
12 And the sones of Manasses miyten not distrie these citees, but Cananei bigan to dwelle in this lond.
Or i figliuoli di Manasse non poterono scacciar [gli abitanti] di quelle città; anzi i Cananei si misero in cuore di abitare in quel paese.
13 Sotheli aftir that the sones of Israel weren stronge, thei maden suget Cananeis, and maden tributaries to hem silf, and killiden not Cananeis.
Ma, dopo che i figliuoli d'Israele si furono rinforzati, fecero tributari i Cananei; ma pur non li scacciarono.
14 And the sones of Joseph spaken to Josue, and seiden, Whi hast thou youe to me lond in to possessioun of o lot and part, sithen Y am of so greet multitude, and the Lord hath blesside me, `that is, hath alargid me in children?
Or i figliuoli di Giuseppe parlarono a Giosuè, dicendo: Perchè mi hai tu data per eredità una [sola] sorte, ed una [sola] parte, poichè io [sono] un gran popolo, secondo che il Signore mi ha benedetto infino ad ora?
15 To whiche Josue seide, If thou art myche puple, stie thou into the wode, and kitte doun to thee spaces in the lond of Feresei, and of Raphaym, for the possessioun of the hil of Effraym is streiyt to thee.
E Giosuè disse loro: Se tu [sei] un gran popolo, sali al bosco, e sboscati [delle terre] nel paese de' Ferizzei, e dei Rafei, poichè il monte di Efraim [è] troppo stretto per te.
16 To whom the sones of Joseph answerden, We moun not stie to the hilli places, sithen Cananeis, that dwellen in the `lond of the feeld, vsen ironne charis; in which lond Bersan, with hise townes, and Jesrael, weldynge the myddil valey, ben set.
E i figliuoli di Giuseppe dissero: Quel monte non ci basta; e in tutte [le città de'] Cananei, che stanno nel paese della pianura, vi sono de' carri di ferro; quelli che [stanno] in Bet-sean, e nelle terre del suo territorio, e quelli che [stanno] nelle valle d'Izreel [ne hanno anch'essi].
17 And Josue seide to the hows of Joseph, and of Effraym, and of Manasses, Thou art myche puple, and of greet strengthe; thou schalt not haue o lot,
Ma Giosuè parlò alla casa di Giuseppe, ad Efraim, ed a Manasse, dicendo: Tu [sei] un gran popolo, ed hai gran forze; tu non avrai una sola porzione.
18 but thou schalt passe to the hil, and thou schalt kitte doun to thee; and thou schalt clense spaces to dwelle. And thou schalt mow go forth ferthere, whanne thou hast distried Cananei, whom thou seist to haue irone charis, and to be moost strong.
Perciocchè il monte sarà tuo, e se [quello è] un bosco, sboscalo, e sarà tuo, quanto egli si stenderà; perciocchè tu ne scaccerai i Cananei, benchè abbiano dei carri di ferro, e sieno potenti.
