Joshua 13

1 Josue was eld and of greet age; and the Lord seide to him, Thou hast woxe eld, and art of long tyme; and largeste lond is left, which is not yit departid bi lot;

وقتی یوشع به سن پیری رسید، خداوند به او فرمود: «تو پیر شده‌ای در حالی که سرزمینهای زیادی باقی مانده است که باید تصرف شوند.

2 that is, al Galile, Filistiym, and al Gessuri,

اینها هستند آن سرزمینهایی که باقی مانده و باید تسخیر شوند: تمام سرزمین فلسطینی‌ها (که شامل پنج شهر پادشاه نشین غزه، اشدود، اشقلون، جت و عقرون می‌باشد)، سرزمین جشوری‌ها و عوی‌ها در جنوب (تمام سرزمین این قومها جزو کنعان محسوب می‌شوند و بین رود شیحور در شرق مصر و سرحد عقرون در شمال قرار دارند)، بقیهٔ سرزمین کنعان که بین شهر معارهٔ صیدونی‌ها و شهر افیق در مرز اموری‌ها قرار دارد، سرزمین جِبالی‌ها، تمام لبنان در شرق که از بعل جاد در جنوب کوه حرمون تا گذرگاه حمات امتداد می‌یابد، تمام سرزمینهای کوهستانی که بین لبنان و مسرفوتمایم قرار دارد و متعلق به صیدونی‌ها هستند. من ساکنان تمام این سرزمینها را از پیش روی قوم اسرائیل بیرون خواهم راند، اما تو زمینهای آنها را چنانکه دستور داده‌ام، بین نه قبیلهٔ اسرائیل و نصف قبیلهٔ منسی به حکم قرعه تقسیم کن تا ملک ایشان باشد.»

3 fro the troblid flood that moistith Egipt, `til to the termes of Acaron ayenus the north; the lond of Chanaan, which is departid `in to fyue litle kyngis of Filistym, of Gaza, and of Azotus, of Ascolon, of Geth, and of Accaron.

4 Forsothe at the south ben Eueis, al the lond of Canaan, and Maara of Sidonyes, `til to Affetha, and to the termes of Amorrei, and the coostis of hym;

5 and the cuntrei of Liban ayens the eest, fro Baalgath, vndur the hil of Hermon, til thou entrist into Emath,

6 of alle men that dwelliden in the hil, fro the Liban `til to the watris of Masserephoth, and alle men of Sidon; Y am, that schal do awei hem fro the face of the sones of Israel; therfor come it in to the part of eritage of Israel, as Y comaundide to thee.

7 And thou now departe the lond in to possessioun to the nyne lynagis, and to the half lynage of Manasses,

8 with which lynage Ruben and Gad weldiden the lond, which lond Moises, the `seruaunt of the Lord, yaf to hem biyende the flowyngis of Jordan, at the eest coost;

نصف دیگر قبیلهٔ منسی و دو قبیلهٔ رئوبین و جاد، قبلاً قسمت خود را در سمت شرقی رود اردن تحویل گرفته بودند، زیرا موسی خدمتگزار خداوند این ناحیه را برای آنها تعیین نموده بود.

9 fro Aroer, which is set in the brynke of the stronde of Arnon, in the middis of the valei, and alle the feeldi places of Medaba,

از عروعیر که در کنارهٔ وادی ارنون است تا شهری که در وسط این وادی است و تمام بیابان میدبا تا دیبون،

10 `til to Dibon, and alle the citees of Seon, kyng of Amorreis, that regnyde in Esebon, `til to the termes of the sones of Amon,

همچنین همهٔ شهرهای سیحون، پادشاه قوم اموری که از حشبون تا سرحد عمون حکومت می‌کرد، ملک آنها بودند.

11 and of Galaad, and to the termes of Gessuri, and of Machati, and al the hil of Hermon, and al Basan, `til to Salecha;

و نیز جلعاد، سرزمین جشوری‌ها و معکی‌ها، تمام کوه حرمون و تمام باشان تا شهر سلخه که تمام جزو قلمرو عوج بود به آنها تعلق داشت. (عوج در عشتاروت و ادرعی حکومت می‌کرد و از بازماندگان رفائی‌ها بود که موسی آنها را شکست داد و بیرون راند.)

12 al the rewme of Og in Basan, that regnede in Astoroth, and in Edraym; `he was of the relikis of Rafaym, `that is, of giauntis; and Moises smoot hem and dide awey hem.

13 And the sones of Israel nolden destrye Gessurri and Machati; and thei dwelliden in the myddis of Israel, `til in to present dai.

اما اسرائیلی‌ها مردم جشور و معکی را از زمینهایشان بیرون نکردند، به طوری که آنها تا امروز در میان ایشان ساکنند.

14 Sotheli he yaf not possessioun to the lynage of Leuy, but sacrifices, and slayn sacrifices of the Lord God of Israel; that is `his eritage, as God spak to hym.

موسی به قبیلهٔ لاوی هیچ زمینی نداده بود، زیرا قرار بود به جای زمین، قربانیهایی که بر آتش به خداوند تقدیم می‌شد به آنها داده شود.

15 Therfor Moises yaf possessioun to the lynage of the sones of Ruben, bi her kynredis;

موسی بخشی از سرزمین را به خاندانهای قبیلهٔ رئوبین داده بود.

16 and `the term of hem was fro Aroer, which is set in the brenke of the stronde of Arnon, and in the myddil valei of the same stronde, al the pleyn that ledith to Medaba,

حدود زمین آنها از عروعیر در کنار وادی ارنون و شهری که در وسط آن وادی است، تا آن طرف دشت مجاور میدبا بود.

17 and Esebon, and alle the townes of tho, that ben in the feeldi places; and Dibon, and Baal Bamoth, and the citee of Baal Meon,

سرزمین آنها شامل حشبون و تمام شهرهای آن دشت می‌شد، یعنی دیبون، باموت‌بعل، بیت‌بعل معون،

18 and Gesa, and Sedymoth, and Mephe,

یهصه، قدیموت، میفاعت،

19 and Cariathaym, and Sabana, and Sarathaphar, in the hil of the valey of Betheroeth,

قریتایم، سبمه، سارت شحر در کوهستان بالای دره،

20 and of Asedoch, Phasca, and Bethaissymoth;

بیت‌فغور، بیت‌یشیموت و دامنۀ کوه پیسگاه.

21 alle the feeldi citees, and alle the rewmes of Seon, kyng of Amorrey, that regnede in Esebon, whom Moyses smoot, with hise princes, Madian, Euey and Recten, and Sur, and Hur, and Rebee, duykis of Seon, enhabiters of the lond.

همچنین شهرهایی که در دشت بودند و نیز شهرهای سیحون، پادشاه اموری که در حشبون حکومت می‌کرد به ملکیت قبیلهٔ رئوبین درآمدند. موسی، سیحون پادشاه و بزرگان مدیان را که عبارت بودند از: اَوی، راقم، صور، حور و رابع شکست داده بود. این افراد در سرزمین سیحونِ پادشاه زندگی می‌کردند و با او متحد بودند.

22 And the sones of Israel killiden bi swerd Balaam, the fals diuynour, the sone of Beor, with othere men slayn.

بلعام جادوگر، پسر بعور، نیز از جمله کسانی بود که به‌وسیلۀ اسرائیلی‌ها در جنگ کشته شده بودند.

23 And the terme of the sones of Ruben was maad the flood of Jordan; this is the possessioun of Rubenytis bi her kynredis of citees and of townes.

رود اردن، مرز غربی قبیلهٔ رئوبین بود. اینها شهرها و دهاتی بودند که به خاندانهای قبیلهٔ رئوبین به ملکیت داده شدند.

24 And Moises yaf to the lynage of Gad, and to the sones therof, bi her kynredis, possessioun, of which this is departyng;

موسی همچنین قسمتی از سرزمین را برای خاندانهای قبیلهٔ جاد تعیین نموده بود. این قسمت عبارت بود از:

25 he yaf the termes of Jazer, and alle the citees of Galaad, and the half part of the lond of the sones of Amon, `til to Aroer which is ayens Tabba;

یعزیر، تمام شهرهای جلعاد و نصف سرزمین عمونی‌ها تا عروعیر نزدیک ربه

26 and fro Esebon `til to Ramoth of Masphe, and Bethamyn, and Manayn, `til to the termes of Dabir;

و از حشبون تا رامت مصفه و بطونیم، و از محنایم تا سرحد دبیر؛

27 and in the valei he yaf Betharan, and Bethneuar, and Socoth, and Saphan, the tother part of the rewme of Seon, kyng of Esebon; and the ende of this is Jordan, `til to the laste part of the see of Cenereth ouer Jordan, at the eest coost.

شهرهای بیت‌هارام و بیت‌نمره، سوکوت، صافون، که در درهٔ اردن بودند و همچنین بقیه ملک سیحون، پادشاه حشبون. رود اردن مرز غربی قبیلهٔ جاد بود و تا دریاچهٔ جلیل در شمال امتداد داشت.

28 This is the possessioun of the sones of Gad, bi her meynees, the citees and townes of tho.

اینها شهرها و دهاتی بودند که به خاندانهای قبیلهٔ جاد به ملکیت داده شدند.

29 He yaf also possessioun to the half lynage of Manasses, and to hise sones, bi her kynredis,

موسی قسمتی از سرزمین را برای خاندانهای نصف قبیلهٔ منسی تعیین نموده بود.

30 of which possessioun this is the bigynnyng; he yaf Ammaym, and al Basan, and alle the rewmes of Og, kyng of Basan, and alle the townes of Jair, that ben in Basan, sixti citees;

زمین ایشان از محنایم به طرف شمال بود و شامل باشان (مملکت سابق عوج پادشاه) و تمام شهرهای یائیر (واقع در باشان) که شصت شهر بودند، می‌شد.

31 and half the part of Galaad, and Astoroth, and Edray, the citees of the rewme of Og, kyng of Basan; to the sones of Machir, sones of Manasses, and to half the part of the sones of Machir, bi her kynredis.

نصف جلعاد و شهرهای پادشاه نشین عوج یعنی عشتاروت و ادرعی در باشان به نصف خاندان ماخیر پسر منسی داده شد.

32 Moises departide this possessioun in the feeldi placis of Moab ouer Jordan, ayens Jericho, at the eest coost.

این بود چگونگی تقسیم زمینهای شرق رود اردن، به‌وسیلۀ موسی، هنگامی که او در شرق اریحا در دشت موآب بود.

33 Forsothe he yaf not possessioun to the lynage of Leuy; for the Lord God himself of Israel is the possessioun of Leuy, as the Lord spak to hym.

اما موسی هیچ سهمی به قبیلهٔ لاوی نداد، زیرا چنانکه به ایشان گفته بود، به جای زمین، خداوند، خدای اسرائیل میراث ایشان بود.
