Joshua 11
1 And whanne Jabyn, kyng of Asor, hadde herd these thingis, he sente to Jobab, kyng of Madian, and to the kyng of Semeron, and to the kyng of Acsaph; forsothe to the kyngis of the north,
Ouvindo isto Jabim rei de Hazor, enviou mensagem a Jobabe rei de Madom, e ao rei de Sinrom, e ao rei de Acsafe,
2 that dwelliden in the hilli places, and in the pleyn ayens the south of Seneroth, and in the feeldi places, and cuntreis of Dor, bisidis the see,
E aos reis que estavam à parte do norte nas montanhas, e na planície ao sul de Quinerete, e nas planícies, e nas regiões de Dor ao ocidente;
3 and `to Cananei fro the eest and west, and to Ammorrey, and Ethei, and Feresei, and Jebusei, in the `hilli places, and to Euey, that dwellide at the rootis of Hermon, in the lond of Maspha.
E aos cananeus que estava ao oriente e ao ocidente, e aos amorreus, e ao Heteu, e aos perizeus, e aos jebuseus nas montanhas, e aos heveus debaixo de Hermom em terra de Mispá.
4 And alle yeden out with her cumpanyes, a ful myche puple, as the grauel which is in the `brynk of the see, and horsis, and charis, of greet multitude.
Estes saíram, e com eles todos os seus exércitos, povo muito em grande maneira, como a areia que está à beira do mar, com grande multidão de cavalos e carros.
5 And alle these kyngis camen togidere at the watris of Meron, to fiyte ayens Israel.
Todos estes reis se juntaram, e vindo reuniram os acampamentos junto às águas de Merom, para lutar contra Israel.
6 And the Lord seyde to Josue, Drede thou not hem, for to morewe, in this same our, Y schal bitake alle these men to be woundid in the siyt of Israel; thou schalt hoxe `the horsis of hem, and thou schalt brenne `the charis bi fier.
Mas o SENHOR disse a Josué: Não tenhas medo deles, que amanhã a esta hora eu entregarei a todos estes, mortos diante de Israel: a seus cavalos aleijarás, e seus carros queimarás ao fogo.
7 And Josue cam, and al his oost with hym, ayens hem sodenli, at the watris of Meron, `and felden on hem.
E veio Josué, e com ele todo aquele povo de guerra, contra eles, e deu de repente sobre eles junto às águas de Merom.
8 And the Lord bitook hem in to the hondis of Israel; whiche smytiden hem, `that is, the hethen kyngis and her oostes, and pursueden `til to grete Sidon, and the watris of Maserophoth, and to the feeld of Maspha, which is at the eest part therof. Josue smoot so alle men, that he lefte no relikis of hem;
E entregou-os o SENHOR em mãos de Israel, os quais os feriram e seguiram até a grande Sidom, e até as águas quentes, e até a planície de Mispá ao oriente, ferindo-os até que não lhes deixaram ninguém.
9 and he dide as the Lord comaundide to hym; he hoxide `the horsis of hem, and brente the charis.
E Josué fez com eles como o SENHOR lhe havia mandado: aleijou seus cavalos, e seus carros queimou ao fogo.
10 And he turnede ayen anoon, and took Asor, and `smoot bi swerd the kyng therof; for Asor helde bi eld tyme the prinsehed among alle these rewmes.
E voltando-se Josué, tomou no mesmo tempo a Hazor, e feriu à espada a seu rei: a qual Hazor havia sido antes cabeça de todos estes reinos.
11 And `he smoot alle persoones that dwelliden there, he lefte not ony relikys therynne, but he wastide alle thingis `til to deeth; also he distriede thilke citee bi brennyng.
E feriram à espada todo quanto nela havia vivo, destruindo e não deixando coisa com vida; e a Hazor puseram a fogo.
12 And he took alle `citees bi cumpas, and `the kyngis of hem, and smoot, and dide awei, as Moises, the `seruaunt of the Lord,
Também tomou Josué todas as cidades destes reis, e a todos os reis delas, e os meteu à espada, e os destruiu, como Moisés servo do SENHOR o havia mandado.
13 comaundide to hym, without citees that weren set in the grete hillis, and in litle hillis; and Israel brente the othere citees; flawme wastide oneli o citee, Asor, the strongeste.
Porém todas as cidades que estavam em suas colinas, não as queimou Israel, tirando a só Hazor, a qual queimou Josué.
14 And the sones of Israel departiden to hem silf al the prei, and werk beestis of these citees, whanne alle men weren slayn.
E os filhos de Israel tomaram para si todos os despojos e animais daquelas cidades: mas a todos os homens feriram à espada até destruí-los, sem deixar alguém com vida.
15 As the Lord comaundide to his seruaunt Moises, so Moises comaundide to Josue, and `he fillide alle thingis; he passide not of alle comaundementis, `nether o word sotheli, which the Lord comaundide to Moises.
Da maneira que o SENHOR o havia mandado a Moisés seu servo, assim Moisés o mandou a Josué: e assim Josué o fez, sem tirar palavra de tudo o que o SENHOR havia mandado a Moisés.
16 And so Josue took al the `lond of the hillis, and of the south, the lond of Gosen, and the pleyn, and the west coost, and the hil of Israel, and the feeldi places therof;
Tomou, pois, Josué toda aquela terra, as montanhas, e toda a região do sul, e toda a terra de Gósen, e os terrenos baixos e as planícies, e a região montanhosa de Israel e seus vales.
17 and the part of the hil that stieth to Seir `til to Baalgath, bi the pleyn of Liban vndur the hil of Hermon; Josue took, and smoot, and killide alle the kyngis of tho places.
Desde o monte de Halaque, que sobe até Seir, até Baal-Gade na planície do Líbano, às raízes do monte Hermom: tomou também todos os seus reis, os quais feriu e matou.
18 Josue fauyt myche tyme ayens these kyngis;
Por muitos dias teve guerra Josué com estes reis.
19 `no citee was, which bitook not it silf to the sones of Israel, out takun Euey that dwellide in Gabaon; he took alle bi batel.
Não houve cidade que fizesse paz com os filhos de Israel, a não ser os heveus, que moravam em Gibeão: tudo o tomaram por guerra.
20 For it was the sentence of the Lord, that `the hertis of hem schulde be maad hard, and that thei schulden fiyte ayens Israel, and schulden falle, and schulden not disserue ony mercy, and schulden perische, as the Lord comaundide to Moises.
Porque isto veio do SENHOR, que endurecia o coração deles para que resistissem com guerra a Israel, para destruí-los, e que não lhes fosse feita misericórdia, antes fossem desarraigados, como o SENHOR o havia mandado a Moisés.
21 Josue cam in that tyme, and killide Enachym, that is, giauntis, fro the `hilli placis of Ebron, and of Dabir, and of Anab, and fro al the hil of Juda, and of Israel, and dide awei `the citees of hem.
Também no mesmo tempo veio Josué e destruiu os anaquins dos montes, de Hebrom, de Debir, e de Anabe, e de todos os montes de Judá, e de todos os montes de Israel: Josué os destruiu a eles e a suas cidades.
22 He lefte not ony man of the generacioun of Enachim in the lond of the sones of Israel, without the citees of Gasa, and Geth, and Azotus, in whiche aloone thei weren left.
Nenhum dos anaquins restou na terra dos filhos de Israel; somente restaram em Gaza, em Gate, e em Asdode.
23 Therfor Josue took al the lond, as the Lord spak to Moyses, and he yaf it in to possessioun to the sones of Israel, bi her partis and lynagis; and the lond restide fro batels.
Tomou, pois, Josué toda a terra, conforme todo o que o SENHOR havia dito a Moisés; e entregou-a Josué aos israelitas por herança, conforme suas repartições de suas tribos: e a terra repousou de guerra.
