1 And Jonas was turmentid with greet turment, and was wrooth.
Ma ihe a jọrọ Jona njọ nʼobi nke ukwuu, iwe ya dịkwa ọkụ.
2 And he preiede the Lord, and seide, Lord, Y biseche, whether this is not my word, whanne Y was yit in my lond? For this thing Y purposide, for to fle in to Tharsis; for Y woot, that thou, God, art meke and merciful, pacient, and of merciful doyng, and foryyuynge on malice.
Nʼihi ya, o kpeere Onyenwe anyị ekpere sị, “O, Onyenwe anyị, nke a ọ bụghị ihe m kwuru, mgbe m nọ nʼala m? Ọ bụ ya mere m ji chọọ ịgbalaga na Tashish na mbụ nʼihi na amaara m na ị bụ Chineke onye na-eme amara, na onye jupụtara nʼobi ebere, na onye na-adịghị ewe iwe ọsịịsọ, nke bara ụba nʼịhụnanya, onye na-anaghị ata mmadụ ahụhụ dịka mmehie ya siri dị.
3 And now, Lord, Y preie, take my soule fro me; for deth is betere to me than lijf.
Ugbu a, O, Onyenwe anyị napụ m ndụ m. Ọ ga-adị m mma ịnwụ anwụ karịa ịdị ndụ.”
4 And the Lord seide, Gessist thou, whether thou art wel wrooth?
Ma Onyenwe anyị sịrị, “O ziri ezi na ị ga-esi otu a wee oke iwe dị ọkụ?”
5 And Jonas wente out of the citee, and sat ayens the eest of the citee, and made to hym a schadewyng place there; and sat vndur it in schadewe, til he sai what bifelle to the citee.
Mgbe ahụ, Jona si nʼebe ahụ pụọ jee nọdụ ala nʼakụkụ ọwụwa anyanwụ nke obodo ahụ. O weere ahịhịa meere onwe ya ụlọ ndo, nọdụ nʼime ya, chere ka ọ hụ ihe gaje ime obodo ahụ.
6 And the Lord God made redy an yuy, and it stiede vp on the heed of Jonas, that schadewe were on his heed, and kyueride hym; for he hadde trauelid. And Jonas was glad on the yuy, with greet gladnesse.
Ma Onyenwe anyị Chineke rọpụtara otu osisi nwere akwụkwọ sara mbara, nke tolitere nʼelu isi Jona, ka o ghọọrọ ya ndo ịnapụta ya nʼọnọdụ ahụ mgbakasị. Jona ṅụrịrị ọṅụ maka osisi ahụ.
7 And God made redi a worm, in stiyng up of grei dai on the morewe; and it smoot the yuy, and it driede up.
Ma nʼisi ụtụtụ echi ya, Chineke mere ka otu ikpuru pụta nke riri osisi ahụ site nʼogwe ya, si otu a mee ka ọ kpọnwụọ.
8 And whanne the sunne was risun, the Lord comaundide to the hoot wynd and brennyng; and the sunne smoot on the heed of Jonas, and he swalide. And he axide to his soule that he schulde die, and seide, It is betere to me for to die, than for to lyue.
O ruo, mgbe anyanwụ wara, Chineke mere ka ifufe na-ekpo ọkụ site nʼọwụwa anyanwụ, anyanwụ a chara Jona nʼisi nke ukwuu nke mere nʼike gwụsịrị ya. Ọ rịọrọ ka ọnwụ gbuo ya, na-asị, “ọ ga a kaara m mma na m nwụrụ anwụ, karịa na m dị ndụ.”
9 And the Lord seide to Jonas, Gessist thou, whether thou art wel wrooth on the yuy? And he seide, Y am wel wrooth, til to the deth.
Ma Chineke sịrị Jona, “Ọ bụ ihe ziri ezi ka i wee iwe maka osisi a?” Ọ sịrị, “E, ana m ewe oke iwe, ọ bụladị na m chọrọ ịnwụ.”
10 And the Lord seide, Thou art sori on the yuy, in which thou trauelidist not, nether madist that it wexide, which was growun vndur o nyyt, and perischide in o nyyt.
Mgbe ahụ Onyenwe anyị kwuru, “I nwere obi ebere nʼebe osisi a dị, nke ị na-akụghị na nke i mekwaghị ka o too, bụ nke toro nʼanyasị, nwụọkwa nʼanyasị.
11 And schal Y not spare the grete citee Nynyue, in which ben more than sixe score thousynde of men, which witen not what is betwixe her riyt half and left, and many beestis?
Mụ onwe m, m ga-aghara inwe obi ebere nʼahụ obodo ukwu a dịka Ninive, nke nwere ihe karịrị narị puku ndị mmadụ na iri puku mmadụ abụọ, bụ ndị na-amaghị nke bụ aka nri ha maọbụ aka ekpe ha, na nke ọtụtụ anụmanụ dịkwa nʼime ya?”
