John 8
1 But Jhesus wente in to the mount of Olyuete.
੧ਯਿਸੂ ਜੈਤੂਨ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਰ ਗਿਆ।
2 And eerli eft he cam in to the temple; and al the puple cam to hym; and he sat, and tauyte hem.
੨ਸਵੇਰ-ਸਾਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਹੈਕਲ ਵੱਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ।
3 And scribis and Fariseis bryngen a womman takun in auoutrye, and thei settiden hir in the myddil,
੩ਯਿਸੂ ਉੱਥੇ ਬੈਠਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਨ ਬੋਲੇ। ਤਦ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਆਏ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਫ਼ੜੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਖੜੀ ਕੀਤਾ।
4 and seiden to hym, Maystir, this womman is now takun in auoutrie.
੪ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਇਹ ਔਰਤ ਉਦੋਂ ਫ਼ੜੀ ਗਈ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਹ ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ
5 And in the lawe Moises comaundide vs to stoone suche; therfor what seist thou?
੫ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ, ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਥਰ ਮਾਰ-ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ?”
6 And thei seiden this thing temptynge hym, that thei myyten accuse hym. And Jhesus bowide hym silf doun, and wroot with his fyngur in the erthe.
੬ਯਹੂਦੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਲਾਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਫ਼ਸਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਗਲਤ ਆਖੇ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਕੋਈ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਗਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਥੱਲੇ ਝੁਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਂਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਲਿਖਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।
7 And whanne thei abiden axynge hym, he reiside hym silf, and seide to hem, He of you that is without synne, first caste a stoon in to hir.
੭ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਵਾਲ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਇੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਪੱਥਰ ਮਾਰੇ।”
8 And eft he bowide hym silf, and wroot in the erthe.
੮ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਥੱਲੇ ਝੁਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਲਿਖਣ ਲੱਗ ਪਿਆ।
9 And thei herynge these thingis, wenten awei oon aftir anothir, and thei bigunnen fro the eldre men; and Jhesus dwelte aloone, and the womman stondynge in the myddil.
੯ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਜਾਣ ਲੱਗੇ। ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਲੋਕ ਗਏ, ਫ਼ਿਰ ਹੋਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ। ਯਿਸੂ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਜੋ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜੀ ਸੀ।
10 And Jhesus reiside hym silf, and seide to hir, Womman, where ben thei that accusiden thee? no man hath dampned thee.
੧੦ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ, “ਹੇ ਔਰਤ, ਉਹ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹਨ? ਕੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਕਰਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ?”
11 Sche seide, No man, Lord. Jhesus seide `to hir, Nethir Y schal dampne thee; go thou, and now aftirward nyle thou synne more.
੧੧ਉਸ ਔਰਤ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਨਹੀਂ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ! ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਕਰਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ।” ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਤੇਰਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਚਲੀ ਜਾ, ਪਰ ਫਿਰ ਪਾਪ ਨਾ ਕਰੀਂ।”
12 Therfor eft Jhesus spak to hem, and seide, Y am the liyt of the world; he that sueth me, walkith not in derknessis, but schal haue the liyt of lijf.
੧੨ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਫਿਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚੱਲਦਾ, ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੀਵੇਗਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਚਾਨਣ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।”
13 Therfor the Fariseis seiden, Thou berist witnessyng of thi silf; thi witnessyng is not trewe.
੧੩ਪਰ ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਹੈਂ, ਜੋ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ।”
14 Jhesus answerde, and seide to hem, And if Y bere witnessyng of my silf, my witnessyng is trewe; for Y woot fro whennus Y cam, and whidur Y go.
੧੪ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ।
15 But ye witen not fro whennus Y cam, ne whidur Y go. For ye demen aftir the fleisch, but Y deme no man;
੧੫ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੋਕ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਦਰਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ।
16 and if Y deme, my doom is trewe, for Y am not aloone, but Y and the fadir that sente me.
੧੬ਪਰ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਸੱਚਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ, ਪਿਤਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ।
17 And in youre lawe it is writun, that the witnessyng of twei men is trewe.
੧੭ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਸੱਚੀ ਹੈ।
18 Y am, that bere witnessyng of my silf, and the fadir that sente me, berith witnessyng of me.
੧੮ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।”
19 Therfor thei seiden to hym, Where is thi fadir? Jhesus answeride, Nether ye knowen me, nethir ye knowen my fadir; if ye knewen me, perauenture ye schulden knowe also my fadir.
੧੯ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਤੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ?” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ। ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਂਦੇ।”
20 Jhesus spak these wordis in the tresorie, techynge in the temple; and no man took hym, for his our cam not yit.
੨੦ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਹੈਕਲ ਦੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਘਰ ਕੋਲ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਜੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ।
21 Therfor eft Jhesus seide to hem, Lo! Y go, and ye schulen seke me, and ye schulen die in youre synne; whidur Y go, ye moun not come.
੨੧ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਫੇਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭਾਲੋਗੇ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਓਗੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦੇ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।”
22 Therfor the Jewis seiden, Whether he schal sle hym silf, for he seith, Whidur Y go, ye moun not come?
੨੨ਫੇਰ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਆਪਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਕੀ ਯਿਸੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਲਵੇਗਾ? ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਸਕਦੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉੱਥੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਸਕਦੇ।”
23 And he seide to hem, Ye ben of bynethe, Y am of aboue; ye ben of this world, Y am not of this world.
੨੩ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਹੋ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਸਵਰਗ ਤੋਂ ਹਾਂ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਹੋ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ।
24 Therfor Y seide to you, that ye schulen die in youre synnes; for if ye bileuen not that Y am, ye schulen die in youre synne.
੨੪ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰੋਂਗੇ। ਹਾਂ, ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੋਂਗੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਓਗੇ।”
25 Therfor thei seiden to hym, Who art thou? Jhesus seide to hem, The bigynnyng, which also speke to you.
੨੫ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ “ਤੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਹੈਂ?” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।
26 Y haue many thingis to speke, and deme of you, but he that sente me is sothefast; and Y speke in the world these thingis, that Y herde of hym.
੨੬ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ, ਸੱਚ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਹਨ।”
27 And thei knewen not, that he clepide his fadir God.
੨੭ਲੋਕ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਸਮਝ ਸਕੇ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
28 Therfor Jhesus seith to hem, Whanne ye han areisid mannus sone, thanne ye schulen knowe, that Y am, and of my silf Y do no thing; but as my fadir tauyte me, Y speke these thingis.
੨੮ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਓਗੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਹਾਂ। ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣ ਜਾਓਗੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
29 And he that sente me is with me, and lefte me not aloone; for Y do euermore tho thingis, that ben plesynge to hym.
੨੯ਉਹ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਿਆ।”
30 Whanne he spak these thingis, manye bileueden in hym.
੩੦ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ।
31 Therfor Jhesus seide to the Jewis, that bileueden in hym, If ye dwellen in my word, verili ye schulen be my disciplis;
੩੧ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨੋਂਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਚੇਲੇ ਹੋਵੋਗੇ।
32 and ye schulen knowe the treuthe, and the treuthe schal make you fre.
੩੨ਤਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣੋਗੇ ਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰੇਗਾ।”
33 Therfor the Jewis answeriden to hym, We ben the seed of Abraham, and we serueden neuere to man; hou seist thou, That ye schulen be fre?
੩੩ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਹਾਂ। ਅਸੀਂ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇ ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗੇ?”
34 Jhesus answeride to hem, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, ech man that doith synne, is seruaunt of synne.
੩੪ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ-ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੋ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਾਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਾਪ ਦਾ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਹੈ।
35 And the seruaunt dwellith not in the hows with outen ende, but the sone dwellith with outen ende. (aiōn g165)
੩੫ਇੱਕ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਪਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (aiōn g165)
36 Therfor if the sone make you fre, verili ye schulen be fre.
੩੬ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋ ਜਾਓਗੇ।
37 Y woot that ye ben Abrahams sones, but ye seken to sle me, for my word takith not in you.
੩੭ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਹੋ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਰਾਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ।
38 Y speke tho thingis, that Y say at my fadir; and ye doen tho thingis, that ye sayn at youre fadir.
੩੮ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਕੁਝ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਹੈ।”
39 Thei answerden, and seiden to hym, Abraham is oure fadir. Jhesus seith to hem, If ye ben the sones of Abraham, do ye the werkis of Abraham.
੩੯ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਹੈ।” ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਹੁੰਦੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਜੋ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ।
40 But now ye seken to sle `me, a man that haue spoken to you treuthe, that Y herde of God; Abraham dide not this thing.
੪੦ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੀਤਾ
41 Ye doen the werkis of youre fadir. Therfor thei seiden to hym, We ben not borun of fornycacioun; we han o fadir, God.
੪੧ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਵੇਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।” ਪਰ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੌਣ ਸੀ? ਸਾਡਾ ਇੱਕ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ।”
42 But Jhesus seith to hem, If God were youre fadir, sotheli ye schulden loue me; for Y passide forth of God, and cam; for nether Y cam of my silf, but he sente me.
੪੨ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
43 Whi knowen ye not my speche? for ye moun not here my word.
੪੩ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕਹਿ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਨਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ।
44 Ye ben of the fadir, the deuel, and ye wolen do the desyris of youre fadir. He was a mansleere fro the bigynnyng, and he stood not in treuthe; for treuthe is not in hym. Whanne he spekith lesyng, he spekith of his owne; for he is a liere, and fadir of it.
੪੪ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਹੋ ਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਘਾਤਕ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਸੱਚ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜਦ ਉਹ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਅਸਲੀ ਰੂਪ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਂ! ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਝੂਠ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ।
45 But for Y seie treuthe, ye bileuen not to me.
੪੫ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ।
46 Who of you schal repreue me of synne? if Y sey treuthe, whi bileuen ye not to me?
੪੬ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਸਾਬਤ ਕਰ ਸਕੇ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਪਾਪ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹਾਂ? ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ?
47 He that is of God, herith the wordis of God; therfor ye heren not, for ye ben not of God.
੪੭ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਇੰਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ।”
48 Therfor the Jewis answeriden, and seiden, Whether we seien not wel, that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a deuel?
੪੮ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਠੀਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਮਰੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇੱਕ ਭੂਤ ਹੈ।”
49 Jhesus answerde, and seide, Y haue not a deuel, but Y onoure my fadir, and ye han vnhonourid me.
੪੯ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕੋਈ ਭੂਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਰਾਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ।
50 For Y seke not my glorye; there is he, that sekith, and demeth.
੫੦ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਦਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ। ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਨਿਆਈਂ ਹੈ।
51 Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, if ony man kepe my word, he schal not taste deth with outen ende. (aiōn g165)
੫੧ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ-ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰੇਗਾ।” (aiōn g165)
52 Therfor the Jewis seiden, Now we han knowun, that thou hast a deuel. Abraham is deed, and the prophetis, and thou seist, If ony man kepe my word, he schal not taste deth withouten ende. (aiōn g165)
੫੨ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੁਣ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਇੱਕ ਭੂਤ ਹੈ। ਇਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨਬੀ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਉਹ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰੇਗਾ। (aiōn g165)
53 Whether thou art grettere than oure fader Abraham, that is deed, and the prophetis ben deed; whom makist thou thi silf?
੫੩ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਹੈਂ? ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਨਬੀ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈਂ?”
54 Jhesus answeride, If Y glorifie my silf, my glorie is nouyt; my fadir, is that glorifieth me, whom ye seien, that he is youre God.
੫੪ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਆਦਰ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਕੀਮਤ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ।
55 And ye han not knowun hym, but Y haue knowun hym; and if Y seie that Y knowe hym not, Y schal be a liere lich to you; but Y knowe hym, and Y kepe his word.
੫੫ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਆਖਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਝੂਠਾ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
56 Abraham, youre fadir, gladide to se my dai; and he saiy, and ioyede.
੫੬ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਖੁਸ਼ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਆਉਣ ਦਾ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਖੇ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਓਹ ਦਿਨ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਬੜਾ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ।”
57 Thanne the Jewis seiden to hym, Thou hast not yit fifti yeer, and hast thou seien Abraham?
੫੭ਫਿਰ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ? ਤੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਹਾਂ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ।”
58 Therfor Jhesus seide to hem, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, bifor that Abraham schulde be, Y am.
੫੮ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ-ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਹਾਂ।”
59 Therfor thei token stonys, to caste to hym; but Jhesus hidde hym, and wente out of the temple.
੫੯ਜਦੋਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਚੁੱਕੇ। ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਲੁੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਕਲ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ।
