16 And whanne euentid was comun, his disciplis wenten doun to the see.
Wieczorem uczniowie zeszli na brzeg,
17 And thei wenten vp in to a boot, and thei camen ouer the see in to Cafarnaum. And derknessis weren maad thanne, and Jhesus was not come to hem.

Wkrótce zerwał się silny wiatr i jezioro bardzo się wzburzyło.

32 Therfor Jhesus seith to hem, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, Moyses yaf you not breed fro heuene, but my fadir yyueth you veri breed fro heuene;

44 No man may come to me, but if the fadir that sente me, drawe hym; and Y schal ayen reise hym in the laste dai. It is writun in prophetis,
—Nikt nie może do Mnie przyjść, jeśli nie zostanie przyprowadzony przez Ojca, który Mnie posłał. Tych zaś, którzy przyjdą do Mnie, ożywię w dniu ostatecznym.

W księgach proroków napisano przecież: „Oni wszyscy będą uczniami Boga”. Każdy więc, kto słuchał Ojca i uczył się od Niego, przyjdzie do Mnie.
46 Not for ony man hath sey the fadir, but this that is of God, hath sey the fadir.
Nie znaczy to, że ktokolwiek widział Boga Ojca—oprócz Tego, który od Niego przyszedł.

Co w takim razie powiecie, gdy zobaczycie Mnie, Syna Człowieczego, wracającego tam, skąd przyszedłem?
63 It is the spirit that quykeneth, the fleisch profitith no thing; the wordis that Y haue spokun to you, ben spirit and lijf.
Zrozumcie: to Duch daje życie—ludzkie wysiłki nie mają znaczenia. Słowa, które wam powiedziałem, pochodzą właśnie od Ducha i prowadzą do życia.

69 and we bileuen, and han knowun, that thou art Crist, the sone of God.
Uwierzyliśmy Ci i wiemy, że jesteś Świętym Synem Boga.
70 Therfor Jhesus answerde to hem, Whether Y chees not you twelue, and oon of you is a feend?
—Wybrałem was Dwunastu—rzekł Jezus—ale jeden z was jest sługą diabła.
71 And he seide this of Judas of Symount Scarioth, for this was to bitraye hym, whanne he was oon of the twelue.
