John 4
1 Therfor as Jhesu knew, that the Farisees herden, that Jhesu makith and baptisith mo disciplis than Joon,
Men Herren fick nu veta att fariséerna hade hört hurusom Jesus vann flera lärjungar och döpte flera än Johannes;
2 thouy Jhesus baptiside not, but hise disciplis, he lefte Judee,
dock var det icke Jesus själv som döpte, utan hans lärjungar.
3 and wente ayen in to Galilee.
Då lämnade han Judeen och begav sig åter till Galileen.
4 And it bihofte hym to passe bi Samarie.
Därvid måste han taga vägen genom Samarien.
5 Therfor Jhesus cam in to a citee of Samarie, that is seid Sicar, bisidis the place, that Jacob yaf to Joseph, his sone.
Så kom han till en stad i Samarien som hette Sykar, nära det jordstycke som Jakob gav åt sin son Josef.
6 And the welle of Jacob was there; and Jhesus was weri of the iourney, and sat thus vpon the welle. And the our was, as it were the sixte.
Och där var Jakobs brunn. Eftersom nu Jesus var trött av vandringen, satte han sig strax ned vid brunnen. Det var vid den sjätte timmen.
7 And a womman cam fro Samarie, to drawe watir. And Jhesus seith to hir, Yyue me drynk.
Då kom en samaritisk kvinna för att hämta vatten. Jesus sade till henne: "Giv mig att dricka."
8 And hise disciplis weren gon in to the citee, to bie mete.
Hans lärjungar hade nämligen gått in i staden för att köpa mat.
9 Therfor thilke womman of Samarie seith to him, Hou thou, `whanne thou art a Jewe, axist of me drynk, that am a womman of Samarie? for Jewis vsiden not to dele with Samaritans.
Då sade den samaritiska kvinnan till honom: "Huru kan du, som är jude, bedja mig, som är en samaritisk kvinna, om något att dricka?" Judarna hava nämligen ingen umgängelse med samariterna.
10 Jhesus answerde, and seide to hir, If thou wistist the yifte of God, and who `he is, that seith to thee, Yyue me drynk, thou perauenture woldist haue axid of hym, and he schulde haue youun to thee quyk watir.
Jesus svarade och sade till henne: "Förstode du Guds gåva, och vem den är som säger till dig: 'Giv mig att dricka', så skulle i stället du hava bett honom, och han skulle då hava givit dig levande vatten."
11 The womman seith to him, Sire, thou hast not where ynne to drawe, and the pit is deep; wherof thanne hast thou quik watir?
Kvinnan sade till honom: "Herre, du har ju intet att hämta upp vatten med, och brunnen är djup. Varifrån får du då det friska vattnet?"
12 Whethir thou art grettere than oure fadir Jacob, that yaf to vs the pit? and he drank therof, and hise sones, and hise beestis.
Icke är du väl förmer än vår fader Jakob, som gav oss brunnen och själv med sina barn och sin boskap drack ur den?"
13 Jhesus answerde, and seide to hir, Eche man that drynkith of this watir, schal thirste efte soone;
Jesus svarade och sade till henne: "Var och en som dricker av detta vatten, han bliver törstig igen;
15 The womman seith to hym, Sire, yyue me this watir, that Y thirste not, nether come hidur to drawe.
Kvinnan sade till honom: "Herre, giv mig det vattnet, så att jag icke mer behöver törsta och komma hit för att hämta vatten."
16 Jhesus seith to hir, Go, clepe thin hosebonde, and come hidir.
Han sade till henne: "Gå och hämta din man, och kom sedan tillbaka."
17 The womman answerde, and seide, Y haue noon hosebonde. Jhesus seith to hir, Thou seidist wel, That Y haue noon hosebonde;
Kvinnan svarade och sade: "Jag har ingen man." Jesus sade till henne: "Du har rätt i vad du säger, att du icke har någon man."
18 for thou hast hadde fyue hosebondis, and he that thou hast, is not thin hosebonde. This thing thou seidist sotheli.
Ty fem män har du haft, och den du nu har är icke din man; däri sade du sant.
19 The womman seith to hym, Lord, Y se, that thou art a prophete.
Då sade kvinnan till honom: "Herre, jag ser att du är en profet.
20 Oure fadris worschipiden in this hil, and ye seien, that at Jerusalem is a place, where it bihoueth to worschipe.
Våra fäder hava tillbett på detta berg, men I sägen att i Jerusalem den plats finnes, där man bör tillbedja."
21 Jhesus seith to hir, Womman, bileue thou to me, for the our schal come, whanne nether in this hil, nethir in Jerusalem, ye schulen worschipe the fadir.
Jesus sade till henne: "Tro mig, kvinna: den tid kommer, då det varken är på detta berg eller i Jerusalem som I skolen tillbedja Fadern.
22 Ye worschipen that ye knowen not; we worschipen that that we knowen; for helthe is of the Jewis.
I tillbedjen vad I icke kännen, vi tillbedja vad vi känna -- ty frälsningen kommer från judarna --
23 But the tyme is comun, and now it is, whanne trewe worschiperis schulen worschipe the fadir in spirit and treuthe; for also the fadir sekith suche, that worschipen hym.
men den tid skall komma, ja, den är redan inne, då sanna tillbedjare skola tillbedja Fadern i ande och sanning; ty sådana tillbedjare vill Fadern hava.
24 God is a spirit, and it bihoueth hem that worschipen hym, to worschipe in spirit and treuthe.
Gud är ande, och de som tillbedja måste tillbedja i ande och sanning."
25 The womman seith to hym, Y woot that Messias is comun, that is seid Crist; therfor whanne he cometh, he schal telle vs alle thingis.
Kvinnan sade till honom: "Jag vet att Messias skall komma, han som ock kallas Kristus; när han kommer, skall han förkunna oss allt."
26 Jhesus seith to hir, Y am he, that spekith with thee.
Jesus svarade henne: "Jag, som talar med dig, är den du nu nämnde."
27 And anoon hise disciplis camen, and wondriden, that he spak with the womman; netheles no man seide to hym, What sekist thou, or, What spekist thou with hir?
I detsamma kommo hans lärjungar; och de förundrade sig över att han talade med en kvinna. Dock frågade ingen vad han ville henne, eller varför han talade med henne.
28 Therfor the womman lefte hir watir pot, and wente in to the citee, and seide to tho men,
Men kvinnan lät sin kruka stå och gick in i staden och sade till folket:
29 Come ye, and se ye a man, that seide to me alle thingis that Y haue don; whether he be Crist?
"Kommen och sen en man som har sagt mig allt vad jag har gjort. Månne icke han är Messias?"
30 And thei wenten out of the citee, and camen to hym.
Då gingo de ut ur staden och kommo till honom.
31 In the mene while hise disciplis preieden hym, and seiden, Maistir, ete.
Under tiden bådo lärjungarna honom och sade: "Rabbi, tag och ät."
32 But he seide to hem, Y haue mete to ete, that ye knowen not.
Men han svarade dem: "Jag har mat att äta som I icke veten om."
33 Therfor disciplis seiden togidir, Whether ony man hath brouyt him mete to ete?
Då sade lärjungarna till varandra: "Kan väl någon hava burit mat till honom?"
34 Jhesus seith to hem, My mete is, that Y do the wille of hym that sente me, that Y perfourme the werk of hym.
Jesus sade till dem: "Min mat är att göra dens vilja, som har sänt mig, och att fullborda hans verk."
35 Whether ye seien not, that yit foure monethis ben, and rype corn cometh? Lo! Y seie to you, lifte vp youre iyen, and se ye the feeldis, for now thei ben white to repe.
I sägen ju att det ännu är fyra månader innan skördetiden kommer. Men se, jag säger eder: Lyften upp edra ögon, och sen på fälten, huru de hava vitnat till skörd.
36 And he that repith takith hire, and gaderith fruyt in to euerlastynge lijf; that bothe he that sowith, and he that repith, haue ioye togidere. (aiōnios g166)
Redan nu får den som skördar uppbära sin lön och samla in frukt till evigt liv; så kunna den som sår och den som skördar tillsammans glädja sig. (aiōnios g166)
37 In this thing is the word trewe, for anothir is that sowith, and anothir that repith.
Ty här sannas det ordet, att en är den som sår och en annan den som skördar.
38 Y sente you to repe, that that ye `haue not trauelid; `othere men han trauelid, and ye han entrid `in to her trauels.
Jag har sänt eder att skörda, där I icke haven arbetat. Andra hava arbetat, och I haven fått gå in i deras arbete."
39 And of that citee many Samaritans bileueden in hym, for the word of the womman, that bare witnessyng, That he seide to me alle thingis that Y haue don.
Och många samariter från den staden kommo till tro på honom för kvinnans ords skull, då hon vittnade att han hade sagt henne allt vad hon hade gjort.
40 Therfor whanne Samaritans camen to hym, thei preieden hym to dwelle there; and he dwelte there twey daies.
När sedan samariterna kommo till honom, både de honom att stanna kvar hos dem. Så stannade han där i två dagar.
41 And many mo bileueden for his word,
Och långt flera kommo då till tro för hans egna ords skull.
42 and seiden to the womman, That now not for thi speche we bileuen; for we han herd, and we witen, that this is verili the sauyour of the world.
Och de sade till kvinnan: "Nu är det icke mer för dina ords skull som vi tro, ty vi hava nu själva hört honom, och vi veta nu att han i sanning är världens Frälsare."
43 And aftir twei daies he wente out fro thennus, and wente in to Galilee.
Men efter de två dagarna gick han därifrån till Galileen.
44 And he bar witnessyng, that a profete in his owne cuntre hath noon onour.
Ty Jesus vittnade själv att en profet icke är aktad i sitt eget fädernesland.
45 Therfor whanne he cam in to Galilee, men of Galilee resseyueden hym, whanne thei hadden seyn alle thingis that he hadde don in Jerusalem in the feeste dai; for also thei hadden comun to the feeste dai.
När han nu kom till Galileen, togo galiléerna vänligt emot honom, eftersom de hade sett allt vad han hade gjort i Jerusalem vid högtiden. Också de hade nämligen varit där vid högtiden.
46 Therfor he cam eftsoone in to the Cane of Galile, where he made the watir wiyn. And `a litil kyng was, whos sone was sijk at Cafarnaum.
Så kom han åter till Kana i Galileen, där han hade gjort vattnet till vin. I Kapernaum fanns då en man i konungens tjänst, vilkens son låg sjuk.
47 Whanne this hadde herd, that Jhesu schulde come fro Judee in to Galilee, he wente to hym, and preiede hym, that he schulde come doun, and heele his sone; for he bigan to die.
När han nu hörde att Jesus hade kommit från Judeen till Galileen, begav han sig åstad till honom och bad att han skulle komma ned och bota hans son; ty denne låg för döden.
48 Therfor Jhesus seide to him, But ye se tokenes and grete wondris, ye bileuen not.
Då sade Jesus till honom: "Om I icke sen tecken och under, så tron I icke."
49 The litil kyng seith to hym, Lord, come doun, bifor that my sone die.
Mannen sade till honom: "Herre, kom ned, förrän mitt barn dör."
50 Jhesus seith to hym, Go, thi sone lyueth. The man bileuede to the word, that Jhesus seide to hym, and he wente.
Jesus svarade honom: "Gå, din son får leva." Då trodde mannen det ord som Jesus sade till honom, och gick.
51 And now whanne he cam doun, the seruauntis camen ayens hym, and telden to hym, and seiden, That his sone lyuede.
Och medan han ännu var på vägen hem, mötte honom hans tjänare och sade: "Din son kommer att leva."
52 And he axide of hem the our, in which he was amendid. And thei seiden to hym, For yistirdai in the seuenthe our the feuer lefte him.
Då frågade han dem vid vilken timme det hade blivit bättre med honom. De svarade honom: "I går vid den sjunde timmen lämnade febern honom."
53 Therfor the fadir knewe, that thilke our it was, in which Jhesus seide to hym, Thi sone lyueth; and he bileuede, and al his hous.
Då märkte fadern att det hade skett just den timme då Jesus sade till honom: "Din son får leva." Och han kom till tro, så ock hela hans hus.
54 Jhesus dide eft this secounde tokene, whanne he cam fro Judee in to Galilee.
Detta var nu åter ett tecken, det andra i ordningen som Jesus gjorde, sedan han hade kommit från Judeen till Galileen.
