John 3
1 And there was a man of the Farisees, Nychodeme bi name, a prince of the Jewis.
Había entre los fariseos un hombre llamado Nicodemo, que era uno de los gobernantes de los judíos.
2 And he cam to Jhesu bi niyt, and seide to hym, Rabi, we witen, that thou art comun fro God maister; for no man may do these signes, that thou doist, but God be with hym.
Vino por la noche a Jesús y le dijo: Rabí, estamos seguros de que has venido de Dios como maestro, porque ningún hombre podrá hacer estas señales que tú haces si Dios no estuviera con él.
3 Jhesus answerde, and seide to hym, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, but a man be borun ayen, he may not se the kyngdom of God.
Jesús le dijo: En verdad, te digo que, sin un nuevo nacimiento, nadie puede ver el reino de Dios.
4 Nychodeme seide to hym, Hou may a man be borun, whanne he is eeld? whether he may entre ayen in to his modris wombe, and be borun ayen?
Nicodemo le dijo: ¿Cómo es posible que un hombre nazca cuando sea viejo? ¿Pudo ir al cuerpo de su madre una segunda vez y volver a nacer?
5 Jhesus answeride, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, but a man be borun ayen of watir, and of the Hooli Goost, he may not entre in to the kyngdom of God.
Jesús dijo en respuesta: En verdad, te digo, si el nacimiento de un hombre no proviene del agua y del Espíritu, no le es posible entrar en el reino de Dios.
6 `That that is borun of the fleisch, is fleisch; and `that that is borun of spirit, is spirit.
Lo que tiene nacimiento de la carne es carne, y lo que nace del Espíritu es espíritu.
7 Wondre thou not, for Y seide to thee, It bihoueth you to be borun ayen.
No te sorprendas si te digo, es necesario que tengas un segundo nacimiento.
8 The spirit brethith where he wole, and thou herist his vois, but thou wost not, fro whennus he cometh, ne whidir he goith; so is ech man that is borun of the spirit.
El viento va donde le place, y el sonido llega a tus oídos, pero no puedes decir de dónde viene y hacia dónde va: así es con todos los que nacen del Espíritu.
9 Nychodeme answeride, and seide to hym, Hou moun these thingis be don?
Y Nicodemo le dijo: ¿Cómo es posible que estas cosas sean?
10 Jhesus answeride, and seide to hym, Thou art a maister in Israel, and knowist not these thingis?
Y Jesús, respondiendo, dijo: ¿Eres tú el maestro de Israel y no tienes conocimiento de estas cosas?
11 Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, for we speken that that we witen, and we witnessen that that we han seyn, and ye taken not oure witnessyng.
Verdaderamente, te digo: decimos aquello de lo que tenemos conocimiento; damos testimonio de lo que hemos visto; pero ustedes no creen en nuestro testimonio.
12 If Y haue seid to you ertheli thingis, and ye bileuen not, hou if Y seie to you heueneli thingis, schulen ye bileue?
Si no tienes fe cuando mis palabras son sobre las cosas de la tierra, ¿cómo creerán si mis palabras son sobre las cosas del cielo?
13 And no man stieth in to heuene, but he that cam doun fro heuene, mannys sone that is in heuene.
Y nadie subió al cielo, sino el que descendió del cielo, el Hijo del Hombre.
14 And as Moises areride a serpent in desert, so it bihoueth mannys sone to be reisid,
Como la serpiente fue levantada por Moisés en la tierra baldía, así también es necesario que el Hijo del hombre sea levantado:
Para que cualquiera que tenga fe tenga en él vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
16 For God louede so the world, that he yaf his `oon bigetun sone, that ech man that bileueth in him perische not, but haue euerlastynge lijf. (aiōnios g166)
Porque Dios tuvo tal amor por el mundo que le dio a su único Hijo, para que todo el que tenga fe en él no muera, sino que tenga vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
17 For God sente not his sone in to the world, that he iuge the world, but that the world be saued bi him.
Dios no envió a su Hijo al mundo para ser juez del mundo; lo envió para que el mundo pueda tener salvación a través de él.
18 He that bileueth in hym, is not demed; but he that bileueth not, is now demed, for he bileueth not in the name of the `oon bigetun sone of God.
El hombre que tiene fe en él no viene a ser juzgado; pero el que no tiene fe en él ha sido juzgado incluso ahora, porque no tiene fe en el nombre del único Hijo de Dios.
19 And this is the dom, for liyt cam in to the world, and men loueden more derknessis than liyt; for her werkes weren yuele.
Y esta es la prueba por la cual los hombres son juzgados: la luz ha venido al mundo y los hombres tienen más amor por la oscuridad que por la luz, porque sus actos son malos.
20 For ech man that doith yuele, hatith the liyt; and he cometh not to the liyt, that hise werkis be not repreued.
La luz es odiada por todos aquellos cuyos actos son malos y él no viene a la luz por temor a que sus actos sean vistos.
21 But he that doith treuthe, cometh to the liyt, that hise werkis be schewid, that thei ben don in God.
Pero aquel cuya vida es verdadera sale a la luz, para que se vea claramente que sus actos han sido hechos con la ayuda de Dios.
22 Aftir these thingis Jhesus cam, and hise disciplis, in to the loond of Judee, and there he dwellide with hem, and baptiside.
Después de estas cosas, Jesús y sus discípulos fueron a la tierra de Judea, y allí estuvo con ellos por un tiempo, dando el bautismo.
23 And Joon was baptisinge in Ennon, bisidis Salym, for many watris weren there; and thei camen, and weren baptisid.
Ahora Juan estaba bautizando en Enón, cerca de Salim, porque allí había mucha agua; y la gente vino y se les dio el bautismo.
24 And Joon was not yit sent in to prisoun.
Porque en este momento Juan no había sido encarcelado.
25 Therfor a questioun was maad of Jonys disciplis with the Jewis, of the purificacioun.
Entonces surgió una pregunta entre los discípulos de Juan y un judío acerca de la purificación.
26 And thei camen to Joon, and seiden `to hym, Maister, he that was with thee biyonde Jordan, to whom thou hast borun witnessyng, lo! he baptisith, and alle men comen to hym.
Y fueron a Juan y le dijeron: Rabí, el hombre que estaba contigo al otro lado del Jordán, el hombre de quien tú testificastes, ahora está dando el bautismo, y todos irán a él.
27 Joon answerde, and seide, A man may not take ony thing, but it be youun to hym fro heuene.
Y esta fue la respuesta de Juan: Un hombre no puede tener nada si no le es dado desde el cielo.
28 Ye you silf beren witnessyng to me, that Y seide, Y am not Crist, but that Y am sent bifore hym.
Ustedes dan testimonio de lo que dije, no soy el Cristo. Lo que dije fue que fui enviado ante Cristo.
29 He that hath a wijf, is the hosebonde; but the freend of the spouse that stondith, and herith hym, ioieth with ioye, for the vois of the spouse. Therfor in this thing my ioye is fulfillid.
El que tiene la novia es el marido; pero el amigo del marido, cuyo lugar está a su lado y cuyos oídos están abiertos para él, está lleno de alegría por la voz del esposo: tal es mi alegría, y está completa.
30 It bihoueth hym to wexe, but me to be maad lesse.
Él tiene que volverse más grande mientras yo me vuelvo menos.
31 He that cam from aboue, is aboue alle; he that is of the erthe, spekith of the erthe; he that cometh from heuene, is aboue alle.
El que viene del cielo es más grande que todos los demás: el que viene de la tierra es de la tierra, y de la tierra son sus palabras; el que viene del cielo, sobre todos es.
32 And he witnessith that thing that he hath seie, and herde, and no man takith his witnessing.
Da testimonio de lo que ha visto y de lo que ha llegado a sus oídos; y ningún hombre toma su testimonio como verdadero.
33 But he that takith his witnessyng, hath confermyd that God is sothefast.
El que así toma su testimonio ha dejado clara su fe de que Dios es verdadero.
34 But he whom God hath sent, spekith the wordis of God; for not to mesure God yyueth the spirit.
Porque aquel a quien Dios ha enviado dice las palabras de Dios; y Dios no le da el Espíritu por medida.
35 The fadir loueth the sone, and he hath youun alle thingis in his hoond.
El Padre tiene amor por el Hijo y ha puesto todas las cosas en sus manos.
36 He that bileueth in the sone, hath euerlastynge lijf; but he that is vnbileueful to the sone, schal not se euerlastynge lijf, but the wraththe of God dwellith on hym. (aiōnios g166)
El que tiene fe en el Hijo tiene vida eterna; pero el que no tiene fe en el Hijo no tendrá esa vida; La ira de Dios descansa sobre él. (aiōnios g166)
