John 3
1 And there was a man of the Farisees, Nychodeme bi name, a prince of the Jewis.
Și era un om dintre farisei, numit Nicodim, un fruntaș al iudeilor.
2 And he cam to Jhesu bi niyt, and seide to hym, Rabi, we witen, that thou art comun fro God maister; for no man may do these signes, that thou doist, but God be with hym.
El a venit la Isus noaptea și I-a zis: “Rabi, știm că ești un învățător venit de la Dumnezeu, căci nimeni nu poate face aceste semne pe care le faci Tu, dacă nu este Dumnezeu cu el.”
3 Jhesus answerde, and seide to hym, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, but a man be borun ayen, he may not se the kyngdom of God.
Isus i-a răspuns: “Adevărat îți spun că, dacă cineva nu se naște din nou, nu poate vedea Împărăția lui Dumnezeu.”
4 Nychodeme seide to hym, Hou may a man be borun, whanne he is eeld? whether he may entre ayen in to his modris wombe, and be borun ayen?
Nicodim I-a zis: “Cum se poate naște un om când este bătrân? Poate să intre a doua oară în pântecele mamei sale și să se nască?”
5 Jhesus answeride, Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, but a man be borun ayen of watir, and of the Hooli Goost, he may not entre in to the kyngdom of God.
Isus a răspuns: “Adevărat vă spun că, dacă nu se naște cineva din apă și din Duh, nu poate intra în Împărăția lui Dumnezeu.
6 `That that is borun of the fleisch, is fleisch; and `that that is borun of spirit, is spirit.
Ceea ce este născut din carne este carne. Ceea ce este născut din Spirit este spirit.
7 Wondre thou not, for Y seide to thee, It bihoueth you to be borun ayen.
Nu vă mirați că v-am spus: “Trebuie să vă nașteți din nou”.
8 The spirit brethith where he wole, and thou herist his vois, but thou wost not, fro whennus he cometh, ne whidir he goith; so is ech man that is borun of the spirit.
Vântulsuflă unde vrea, iar voi îi auziți sunetul, dar nu știți de unde vine și încotro se îndreaptă. La fel este oricine este născut din Spirit.”
9 Nychodeme answeride, and seide to hym, Hou moun these thingis be don?
Nicodim I-a răspuns: “Cum pot fi acestea?”
10 Jhesus answeride, and seide to hym, Thou art a maister in Israel, and knowist not these thingis?
Isus i-a răspuns: “Ești tu învățătorul lui Israel și nu înțelegi aceste lucruri?
11 Treuli, treuli, Y seie to thee, for we speken that that we witen, and we witnessen that that we han seyn, and ye taken not oure witnessyng.
Adevărat îți spun că noi spunem ceea ce știm și dăm mărturie despre ceea ce am văzut, iar tu nu primești mărturia noastră.
12 If Y haue seid to you ertheli thingis, and ye bileuen not, hou if Y seie to you heueneli thingis, schulen ye bileue?
Dacă v-am spus lucruri pământești și nu credeți, cum veți crede dacă vă voi spune lucruri cerești?
13 And no man stieth in to heuene, but he that cam doun fro heuene, mannys sone that is in heuene.
Nimeni nu s-a înălțat la cer decât Cel care S-a coborât din cer, Fiul Omului, care este în ceruri.
14 And as Moises areride a serpent in desert, so it bihoueth mannys sone to be reisid,
După cum Moise a înălțat șarpele în pustiu, tot așa trebuie să fie înălțat și Fiul Omului,
pentru ca oricine crede în el să nu piară, ci să aibă viață veșnică. (aiōnios g166)
16 For God louede so the world, that he yaf his `oon bigetun sone, that ech man that bileueth in him perische not, but haue euerlastynge lijf. (aiōnios g166)
Fiindcă atât de mult a iubit Dumnezeu lumea, încât a dat pe singurul Său Fiu născut, pentru ca oricine crede în El să nu piară, ci să aibă viață veșnică. (aiōnios g166)
17 For God sente not his sone in to the world, that he iuge the world, but that the world be saued bi him.
Căci Dumnezeu nu L-a trimis pe Fiul Său în lume ca să judece lumea, ci pentru ca lumea să fie mântuită prin El.
18 He that bileueth in hym, is not demed; but he that bileueth not, is now demed, for he bileueth not in the name of the `oon bigetun sone of God.
Cine crede în El nu este judecat. Cel care nu crede a fost deja judecat, pentru că nu a crezut în numele singurului Fiu născut al lui Dumnezeu.
19 And this is the dom, for liyt cam in to the world, and men loueden more derknessis than liyt; for her werkes weren yuele.
Aceasta este judecata: că lumina a venit în lume și oamenii au iubit mai degrabă întunericul decât lumina, pentru că faptele lor erau rele.
20 For ech man that doith yuele, hatith the liyt; and he cometh not to the liyt, that hise werkis be not repreued.
Căci oricine face răul urăște lumina și nu vine la lumină, ca să nu i se descopere faptele.
21 But he that doith treuthe, cometh to the liyt, that hise werkis be schewid, that thei ben don in God.
Dar cel care face adevărul vine la lumină, pentru ca faptele lui să fie descoperite, ca să se vadă că au fost făcute în Dumnezeu.”
22 Aftir these thingis Jhesus cam, and hise disciplis, in to the loond of Judee, and there he dwellide with hem, and baptiside.
După aceste lucruri, Isus a venit cu ucenicii Săi în ținutul Iudeii. A rămas acolo cu ei și a botezat.
23 And Joon was baptisinge in Ennon, bisidis Salym, for many watris weren there; and thei camen, and weren baptisid.
Ioan boteza și el în Enon, lângă Salim, pentru că acolo era multă apă. Ei au venit și au fost botezați;
24 And Joon was not yit sent in to prisoun.
căci Ioan nu fusese încă aruncat în închisoare.
25 Therfor a questioun was maad of Jonys disciplis with the Jewis, of the purificacioun.
De aceea, s-a iscat o dispută între discipolii lui Ioan și unii iudei în legătură cu purificarea.
26 And thei camen to Joon, and seiden `to hym, Maister, he that was with thee biyonde Jordan, to whom thou hast borun witnessyng, lo! he baptisith, and alle men comen to hym.
Aceștia au venit la Ioan și i-au zis: “Rabi, cel care era cu tine dincolo de Iordan, despre care ai mărturisit, iată că el botează și toată lumea vine la el.”
27 Joon answerde, and seide, A man may not take ony thing, but it be youun to hym fro heuene.
Ioan a răspuns: “Nimic nu poate primi omul, dacă nu-i este dat din cer.
28 Ye you silf beren witnessyng to me, that Y seide, Y am not Crist, but that Y am sent bifore hym.
Voi înșivă mărturisiți că am spus: “Nu eu sunt Hristosul”, ci “Eu am fost trimis înaintea lui”.
29 He that hath a wijf, is the hosebonde; but the freend of the spouse that stondith, and herith hym, ioieth with ioye, for the vois of the spouse. Therfor in this thing my ioye is fulfillid.
Cel care are mireasa este mirele; dar prietenul mirelui, care stă în picioare și îl aude, se bucură foarte mult din cauza glasului mirelui. De aceea bucuria mea este deplină.
30 It bihoueth hym to wexe, but me to be maad lesse.
El trebuie să crească, dar eu trebuie să mă micșorez.
31 He that cam from aboue, is aboue alle; he that is of the erthe, spekith of the erthe; he that cometh from heuene, is aboue alle.
“Cel ce vine de sus este mai presus de toate. Cel care vine de pe pământ aparține pământului și vorbește despre pământ. Cel care vine din cer este mai presus de toate.
32 And he witnessith that thing that he hath seie, and herde, and no man takith his witnessing.
Ceea ce a văzut și a auzit, despre aceasta mărturisește; și nimeni nu primește mărturia lui.
33 But he that takith his witnessyng, hath confermyd that God is sothefast.
Cel care a primit mărturia lui și-a pus pecetea pe aceasta: Dumnezeu este adevărat.
34 But he whom God hath sent, spekith the wordis of God; for not to mesure God yyueth the spirit.
Căci cel pe care l-a trimis Dumnezeu vorbește cuvintele lui Dumnezeu; căci Dumnezeu dă Duhul fără măsură.
35 The fadir loueth the sone, and he hath youun alle thingis in his hoond.
Tatăl îl iubește pe Fiul și a dat toate lucrurile în mâna lui.
36 He that bileueth in the sone, hath euerlastynge lijf; but he that is vnbileueful to the sone, schal not se euerlastynge lijf, but the wraththe of God dwellith on hym. (aiōnios g166)
Cine crede în Fiul are viață veșnică, dar cine nu ascultă de Fiul nu va vedea viața, ci mânia lui Dumnezeu rămâne asupra lui.” (aiōnios g166)
