John 12
1 Therfor Jhesus bifor sixe daies of pask cam to Bethanye, where Lazarus hadde be deed, whom Jhesus reiside.
Cu șase zile înainte de Paști, Isus a venit la Betania, unde era Lazăr, care era mort și pe care l-a înviat din morți.
2 And thei maden to hym a soopere there, and Martha mynystride to hym; and Lazarus was oon of men that saten at the mete with hym.
Și I-au pregătit acolo o cină. Marta a servit, dar Lazăr era unul dintre cei care stăteau la masă cu el.
3 Therfor Marie took a pound of oynement of trewe narde precious, and anoyntide the feet of Jhesu, and wipte hise feet with hir heeris; and the hous was fulfillid of the sauour of the oynement.
Maria a luat un kilogram de mir de nard curat, foarte prețios, a uns picioarele lui Isus și I-a șters picioarele cu părul ei. Casa s-a umplut de mireasma unguentului.
4 Therfor Judas Scarioth, oon of hise disciplis, that was to bitraye hym,
Atunci Iuda Iscarioteanul, fiul lui Simon, unul din ucenicii Lui, care avea să-L trădeze, a zis:
5 seide, Whi is not this oynement seeld for thre hundrid pens, and is youun to nedi men?
“De ce nu s-a vândut mirul acesta cu trei sute de denari și nu s-a dat săracilor?”
6 But he seide this thing, not for it perteynede to hym of nedi men, but for he was a theef, and he hadde the pursis, and bar tho thingis that weren sent.
Și a spus aceasta nu pentru că-i păsa de săraci, ci pentru că era hoț și, având cutia cu bani, obișnuia să fure ce se punea în ea.
7 Therfor Jhesus seide, Suffre ye hir, that in to the day of my biriyng sche kepe that;
Dar Isus a zis: “Las-o în pace. Ea a păstrat aceasta pentru ziua înmormântării mele.
8 for ye schulen euermore haue pore men with you, but ye schulen not euermore haue me.
Căci voi aveți întotdeauna săraci cu voi, dar pe Mine nu Mă aveți întotdeauna.”
9 Therfore myche puple of Jewis knew, that Jhesus was there; and thei camen, not oonli for Jhesu, but to se Lazarus, whom he hadde reisid fro deth.
O mare mulțime de iudei au aflat că El era acolo și au venit, nu numai de dragul lui Isus, ci ca să vadă și pe Lazăr, pe care El îl înviase din morți.
10 But the princis of prestis thouyten to sle Lazarus,
Dar preoții cei mai de seamă au uneltit ca să îl omoare și pe Lazăr,
11 for manye of the Jewis wenten awei for him, and bileueden in Jhesu.
pentru că, din cauza lui, mulți dintre iudei au plecat și au crezut în Isus.
12 But on the morew a myche puple, that cam togidere to the feeste dai, whanne thei hadden herd, that Jhesus cam to Jerusalem,
A doua zi, o mare mulțime a venit la ospăț. Când au auzit că Isus vine la Ierusalim,
13 token braunchis of palmes, and camen forth ayens hym, and crieden, Osanna, blessid is the kyng of Israel, that cometh in the name of the Lord.
au luat ramuri de palmier, au ieșit în întâmpinarea lui și au strigat: “Osana! Binecuvântat este cel care vine în numele Domnului, Regele lui Israel!”.
14 And Jhesus foond a yonge asse, and sat on hym,
Isus a găsit un măgăruș tânăr și a șezut pe el. După cum este scris:
15 as it is writun, The douytir of Syon, nyle thou drede; lo! thi kyng cometh, sittynge on `an asse fole.
“Nu te teme, fiică a Sionului! Iată, Regele tău vine, șezând pe un mânz de măgăriță.”
16 Hise disciplis knewen not first these thingis, but whanne Jhesus was glorified, thanne thei hadden mynde, for these thingis weren writun of hym, and these thingis thei diden to hym.
La început, discipolii lui nu au înțeles aceste lucruri, dar când Isus a fost glorificat, atunci și-au adus aminte că aceste lucruri au fost scrise despre el și că ei i-au făcut aceste lucruri.
17 Therfor the puple bar witnessyng, that was with hym, whanne he clepide Lazarus fro the graue, and reiside hym fro deth.
Așadar, mulțimea care era cu el când l-a chemat pe Lazăr din mormânt și l-a înviat din morți mărturisea despre aceasta.
18 And therfor the puple cam, and mette with hym, for thei herden that he hadde don this signe.
Din această cauză și mulțimea a mers în întâmpinarea lui, pentru că auzise că el făcuse acest semn.
19 Therfor the Farisees seiden to hem silf, Ye seen, that we profiten no thing; lo! al the world wente aftir hym.
De aceea fariseii ziceau între ei: “Vedeți cum nu realizați nimic. Iată că lumea a mers după el”.
20 And there weren summe hethene men, of hem that hadden come vp to worschipe in the feeste dai.
Printre cei ce se suiseră să se închine la sărbătoare erau niște greci.
21 And these camen to Filip, that was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and preieden hym, and seiden, Sire, we wolen se Jhesu.
Aceștia au venit la Filip, care era din Betsaida Galileii, și l-au întrebat, zicând: “Domnule, vrem să-L vedem pe Isus.”
22 Filip cometh, and seith to Andrew; eft Andrew and Filip seiden to Jhesu.
Filip a venit și i-a spus lui Andrei și, la rândul său, Andrei a venit cu Filip și i-au spus lui Isus.
23 And Jhesus answerde `to hem, and seide, The our cometh, that mannus sone be clarified.
Isus le-a răspuns: “A venit vremea ca Fiul Omului să fie proslăvit.
24 Treuli, treuli, Y seie to you, but a corn of whete falle in to the erthe, and be deed, it dwellith aloone; but if it be deed, it bryngith myche fruyt.
Adevărat vă spun că, dacă un bob de grâu nu cade în pământ și nu moare, el rămâne singur. Dar, dacă moare, face mult rod.
25 He that loueth his lijf, schal leese it; and he that hatith his lijf in this world, kepith it in to euerlastynge lijf. (aiōnios g166)
Cine își iubește viața o va pierde. Cel care își urăște viața în lumea aceasta o va păstra pentru viața veșnică. (aiōnios g166)
26 If ony man serue me, sue he me; and where Y am, there my mynystre schal be. If ony man serue me, my fadir schal worschipe hym.
Dacă cineva îmi slujește, să mă urmeze. Unde sunt eu, acolo va fi și slujitorul meu. Dacă cineva îmi slujește, Tatăl îl va cinsti.
27 Now my soule is troublid, and what schal Y seie? Fadir, saue me fro this our; but therfor Y cam in to this our;
“Acum sufletul meu este tulburat. Ce să spun? 'Tată, salvează-mă din acest timp?'. Dar am venit în acest timp pentru această cauză.
28 fadir, clarifie thi name. And a vois cam fro heuene, and seide, And Y haue clarified, and eft Y schal clarifie.
Tată, slăvește numele Tău!” Atunci un glas a ieșit din cer și a zis: “Am proslăvit-o și o voi proslăvi din nou”.
29 Therfor the puple that stood, and herde, seide, that `thundur was maad; othere men seide, an aungel spak to hym.
De aceea mulțimea care stătea de față și auzea, zicea că a tunat. Alții spuneau: “Un înger i-a vorbit”.
30 Jhesus answerde, and seide, This vois cam not for me, but for you.
Isus a răspuns: “Glasul acesta n-a venit pentru Mine, ci pentru voi.
31 Now is the doom of the world, now the prince of this world schal be cast out.
Acum este judecata lumii acesteia. Acum prințul acestei lumi va fi alungat.
32 And if Y schal be enhaunsid fro the erthe, Y schal drawe alle thingis to my silf.
Iar Eu, dacă voi fi ridicat de pe pământ, voi atrage la Mine toate popoarele.”
33 And he seide this thing, signifiynge bi what deth he `was to die.
Dar El a spus aceasta, însemnând prin ce fel de moarte va muri.
34 And the puple answeride to hym, We han herd of the lawe, that Crist dwellith with outen ende; and hou seist thou, It bihoueth mannys sone to be arerid? Who is this mannus sone? (aiōn g165)
Și mulțimea i-a răspuns: “Am auzit din Lege că Hristosul rămâne pentru totdeauna. Cum spuneți voi: 'Fiul Omului trebuie să fie înălțat'? Cine este acest Fiu al Omului?” (aiōn g165)
35 And thanne Jhesus seith to hem, Yit a litil liyt is in you; walke ye, the while ye han liyt, that derknessis catche you not; he that wandrith in derknessis, woot nere whidur he goith.
Isus le-a zis: “Încă puțină vreme lumina este cu voi. Umblați cât timp aveți lumina, ca să nu vă cuprindă întunericul. Cel care umblă în întuneric nu știe încotro se îndreaptă.
36 While ye han liyt, bileue ye in liyt, that ye be the children of liyt. Jhesus spak these thingis, and wente, and hidde hym fro hem.
Cât timp aveți lumina, credeți în lumină, ca să deveniți copii ai luminii.” Isus a spus aceste lucruri, apoi a plecat și s-a ascuns de ei.
37 And whanne he hadde don so many myraclis bifor hem, thei bileueden not `in to hym;
Dar, deși făcuse atâtea semne înaintea lor, ei nu credeau în el,
38 that the word of Ysaie, the prophete, schulde be fulfillid, which he seide, Lord, who bileuede to oure heryng, and to whom is the arm of the Lord schewid?
pentru ca să se împlinească cuvântul proorocului Isaia, pe care îl rostise: “Doamne, cine a crezut raportul nostru? Cui s-a arătat brațul Domnului?”
39 Therfor thei myyten not bileue, for eft Ysaye seide,
De aceea nu puteau să creadă, pentru că Isaia a spus din nou:
40 He hath blyndid her iyen, and he hath maad hard the herte of hem, that thei se not with iyen, and vndurstonde with herte; and that thei be conuertid, and Y heele hem.
“El le-a orbit ochii și le-a împietrit inima, ca nu cumva să vadă cu ochii lor, și să perceapă cu inima lor, și s-ar întoarce, și eu îi voi vindeca.”
41 Ysaye seide these thingis, whanne he say the glorie of hym, and spak of hym.
Isaia a spus aceste lucruri când a văzut slava Lui și a vorbit despre El.
42 Netheles `of the pryncis manye bileueden in hym, but for the Farisees thei knowlechiden not, that thei schulden not be put out of the synagoge;
Cu toate acestea, chiar și mulți dintre dregători au crezut în El, dar, din pricina fariseilor, n-au mărturisit-o, ca să nu fie scoși din sinagogă,
43 for thei loueden the glorie of men, more than the glorie of God.
pentru că ei iubeau mai mult lauda oamenilor decât lauda lui Dumnezeu.
44 And Jhesus criede, and seide, He that bileueth in me, bileueth not in me, but in hym that sente me.
Isus a strigat și a zis: “Cine crede în Mine, nu crede în Mine, ci în Cel ce M-a trimis pe Mine.
45 He that seeth me, seeth hym that sente me.
Cine Mă vede pe Mine vede pe Cel ce M-a trimis pe Mine.
46 Y liyt cam in to the world, that ech that bileueth in me, dwelle not in derknessis.
Eu am venit ca o lumină în lume, pentru ca oricine crede în Mine să nu rămână în întuneric.
47 And if ony man herith my words, and kepith hem, Y deme hym not; for Y cam not, that Y deme the world, but that Y make the world saaf.
Dacă cineva ascultă cele spuse de mine și nu crede, eu nu-l judec. Căci nu am venit să judec lumea, ci să salvez lumea.
48 He that dispisith me, and takith not my wordis, hath hym that schal iuge hym; thilke word that Y haue spokun, schal deme hym in the last dai.
Cine mă respinge pe mine și nu primește spusele mele, are pe cineva care îl judecă. Cuvântul pe care l-am rostit îl va judeca în ziua de apoi.
49 For Y haue not spokun of my silf, but thilke fadir that sente me, yaf to me a maundement, what Y schal seie, and what Y schal speke.
Căci nu am vorbit de la mine însumi, ci Tatăl care m-a trimis mi-a dat o poruncă, ce să spun și ce să vorbesc.
