1 Sotheli Baldath Suytes answeride, and seide,
পরে শূহীয় বিল্দদ উত্তর দিলেন:
2 Hou longe schalt thou speke siche thingis? The spirit of the word of thi mouth is manyfold.
“তুমি আর কতক্ষণ এসব কথা বলবে? তোমার কথাবার্তা তো প্রচণ্ড ঝড়ের মতো।
3 Whether God supplauntith, `ethir disseyueth, doom, and whether Almyyti God distrieth that, that is iust?
ঈশ্বর কি ন্যায়বিচার বিকৃত করেন? সর্বশক্তিমান কি যা ন্যায্য তা বিকৃত করেন?
4 Yhe, thouy thi sones synneden ayens hym, and he lefte hem in the hond of her wickidnesse;
তোমার সন্তানেরা যখন তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করেছিল, তখন তিনি তাদের পাপের উপযুক্ত শাস্তি তাদের দিয়েছিলেন।
5 netheles, if thou risist eerli to God, and bisechist `Almyyti God, if thou goist clene and riytful,
কিন্তু তুমি যদি আন্তরিকভাবে ঈশ্বরের অন্বেষণ করো, ও সর্বশক্তিমানের কাছে সনির্বন্ধ মিনতি জানাও,
6 anoon he schal wake fulli to thee, and schal make pesible the dwellyng place of thi ryytfulnesse;
তুমি যদি পবিত্র ও সৎ হও, এখনও তিনি তোমার হয়ে উঠে দাঁড়াবেন ও তোমাকে তোমার সমৃদ্ধশালী দশায় ফিরিয়ে নিয়ে যাবেন।
7 in so miche that thi formere thingis weren litil, and that thi laste thingis be multiplied greetli.
তোমার সূত্রপাত নিরহঙ্কার বলে মনে হবে, তোমার ভবিষ্যতও খুব সমৃদ্ধশালী হবে।
8 For whi, axe thou the formere generacioun, and seke thou diligentli the mynde of fadris.
“সাবেক প্রজন্মকে জিজ্ঞাসা করো ও খুঁজে বের করো তাদের পূর্বপুরুষেরা কী শিখেছিলেন,
9 For we ben men of yistirdai, and `kunnen not; for oure daies ben as schadewe on the erthe.
কারণ আমরা তো মাত্র কালই জন্মেছি ও কিছুই জানি না, ও পৃথিবীতে আমাদের দিনগুলি তো এক ছায়ামাত্র।
10 And thei schulen teche thee, thei schulen speke to thee, and of her herte thei schulen bring forth spechis.
তারা কি তোমাদের শিক্ষা দেবেন না ও বলবেন না? তারা কি তাদের বুদ্ধিভাণ্ডার থেকে বাণী বের করে আনবেন না?
11 Whether a rusche may lyue with out moysture? ethir a spier `may wexe with out watir?
যেখানে কোনও জলাভূমি নেই সেখানে কি নলখাগড়া বেড়ে ওঠে? জল ছাড়া কি নলবন মাথা চাড়া দেয়?
12 Whanne it is yit in the flour, nethir is takun with hond, it wexeth drie bifor alle erbis.
বাড়তে বাড়তেই ও আকাটা অবস্থাতেই, সেগুলি ঘাসের চেয়েও দ্রুত শুকিয়ে যায়।
13 So the weies of alle men, that foryeten God; and the hope of an ypocrite schal perische.
যারা ঈশ্বরকে ভুলে যায়, তাদেরও এই গতি হয়; অধার্মিকদের আশাও এভাবে বিনষ্ট হয়।
14 His cowardise schal not plese hym, and his trist schal be as a web of yreyns.
তারা যার উপরে নির্ভর করে তা ভঙ্গুর; যার উপরে তারা ভরসা করে তা মাকড়সার এক জাল।
15 He schal leene, `ether reste, on his hows, and it schal not stonde; he schal vndursette it, and it schal not rise togidere.
তারা জালের উপরে হেলান দেয়, কিন্তু তা সরে যায়; তারা তা জড়িয়ে ধরে থাকে, কিন্তু তা ধরে রাখতে পারে না।
16 The rusche semeth moist, bifor that the sunne come; and in the risyng of the sunne the seed therof schal go out.
তারা রোদ পাওয়া জলসেচিত এক চারাগাছের মতো, যা বাগানের সর্বত্র শাখাপ্রশাখা বিস্তার করে;
17 Rootis therof schulen be maad thicke on an heep of stoonys, and it schal dwelle among stoonys.
সেটির মূল পাষাণ-পাথরের গাদায় জড়িয়ে যায় ও তা পাথরের মধ্যে এক স্থান খুঁজে নেয়।
18 If a man drawith it out of `his place, his place schal denye it, and schal seie, Y knowe thee not.
কিন্তু যখন সেটিকে তার অকুস্থল থেকে উপড়ে ফেলা হয়, তখন সেই স্থানটিই তাকে অস্বীকার করে বলে, ‘আমি তোমাকে কখনও দেখিনি।’
19 For this is the gladnesse of his weie, that eft othere ruschis springe out of the erthe.
নিঃসন্দেহে তার প্রাণ শুকিয়ে যায়, ও সেই মাটি থেকে অন্যান্য চারাগাছ উৎপন্ন হয়।
20 Forsothe God schal not caste a wei a symple man, nethir schal dresse hond to wickid men;
“নিঃসন্দেহে ঈশ্বর তাকে কখনও প্রত্যাখ্যান করেন না যে অনিন্দনীয়, বা অনিষ্টকারীদের হাতও শক্তিশালী করেন না।
21 til thi mouth be fillid with leiytir, and thi lippis with hertli song.
তিনি এখনও তোমার মুখ হাসিতে ও তোমার ঠোঁট আনন্দধ্বনিতে পূর্ণ করতে পারেন।
22 Thei that haten thee schulen be clothid with schenschip; and the tabernacle of wickid men schal not stonde.
তোমার শত্রুরা লজ্জায় আচ্ছন্ন হবে, ও দুষ্টদের তাঁবু আর থাকবে না।”
