Job 37
1 Myn herte dredde of this thing, and is moued out of his place.
Il cuor mi trema eziandio di questo, E si muove dal luogo suo.
2 It schal here an heryng in the feerdfulnesse of his vois, and a sown comynge forth of his mouth.
Udite pure il suo tremendo tuono, E il mormorare ch'[esce] dalla sua bocca.
3 He biholdith ouere alle heuenes; and his liyt is ouere the termes of erthe.
Egli lo lancia sotto tutti i cieli, E la sua fiamma sopra le estremità della terra;
4 Sown schal rore aftir hym, he schal thundre with the vois of his greetnesse; and it schal not be souyt out, whanne his vois is herd.
Dopo la quale rugge il tuono; egli tuona con la voce della sua altezza, E non indugia quelle cose, dopo che la sua voce è stata udita.
5 God schal thundre in his vois wondurfulli, that makith grete thingis and that moun not be souyt out.
Iddio tuona maravigliosamente con la sua voce; Egli fa cose tanto grandi, che noi non possiam comprenderle.
6 Which comaundith to the snow to come doun on erthe, and to the reynes of wijntir, and to the reynes of his strengthe.
Perciocchè egli dice alla neve: Cadi in su la terra; [E parimente] al nembo della pioggia, al nembo delle sue forti piogge.
7 Which markith in the hond of alle men, that alle men knowe her werkis.
Egli rinchiude ogni uomo in casa, [Come] per riconoscer tutti i suoi lavoratori.
8 An vnresonable beeste schal go in to his denne, and schal dwelle in his caue, `ethir derke place.
E le fiere se n'entrano ne' [lor] nascondimenti, E dimorano ne' lor ricetti.
9 Tempestis schulen go out fro the ynnere thingis, and coold fro Arturus.
La tempesta viene dall'Austro, E il freddo dal Settentrione.
10 Whanne God makith blowyng, frost wexith togidere; and eft ful brood watris ben sched out.
Iddio, col suo soffio, produce il ghiaccio, E fa che le acque che si diffondevano [diventano come di] metallo.
11 Whete desirith cloudis, and cloudis spreeden abrood her liyt.
Egli stanca eziandio le nuvole in adacquar [la terra], E disperge le nubi [con] la sua luce.
12 Whiche cloudes cumpassen alle thingis bi cumpas, whidur euere the wil of the gouernour ledith tho, to al thing which he comaundith `to tho on the face of the world;
Ed esse si rivolgono in [molti] giri, secondo gli ordini suoi Intorno a ciò che hanno a fare, Secondo tutto quello ch'egli comanda loro [di fare] In su la faccia del mondo, nella terra;
13 whether in o lynage, ethir in his lond, ether in what euer place of his merci he comaundith tho to be foundun.
Facendole venire, o per castigo, O per la sua terra, o per alcun beneficio.
14 Joob, herkene thou these thingis; stonde thou, and biholde the meruels of God.
Porgi l'orecchio a questo, o Giobbe; Fermati, e considera le maraviglie di Dio.
15 Whethir thou woost, whanne God comaundide to the reynes, that tho schulen schewe the liyt of hise cloudis?
Sai tu, come Iddio dispone di esse, E [come] egli fa risplender la luce della sua nuvola?
16 Whether thou knowist the grete weies of cloudis, and perfit kunnyngis?
Intendi tu come le nuvole son bilanciate? [Conosci tu] le maraviglie di colui che è perfetto in ogni scienza?
17 Whether thi cloothis ben not hoote, whanne the erthe is blowun with the south?
Come i tuoi vestimenti [son] caldi, Quando egli acqueta l'Austro in su la terra?
18 In hap thou madist with hym heuenes, which moost sad ben foundid, as of bras.
Hai tu con lui distesi i cieli, [I quali son] sodi, come uno specchio di metallo?
19 Schewe thou to vs, what we schulen seie to hym; for we ben wlappid in derknessis.
Insegnaci ciò che noi gli diremo; [Poichè], per cagione delle [nostre] tenebre, noi non possiam [bene] ordinare [i nostri ragionamenti].
20 Who schal telle to hym, what thingis Y speke? yhe, if he spekith, a man schal be deuourid.
Gli sarebbe egli rapportato quando io avessi parlato? Se [vi fosse] alcuno [che ne] parlasse, certo egli sarebbe abissato.
21 And now men seen not liyt; the eir schal be maad thicke sudenli in to cloudis, and wynd passynge schal dryue awei tho.
Ecco pure [gli uomini] non possono riguardare il sole, [Quando] egli risplende nel cielo, Dopo che il vento è passato, e l'ha spazzato;
22 Gold schal come fro the north, and ferdful preisyng of God.
[E] che dal Settentrione è venuta la dorata serenità; [Or] Iddio [ha] intorno a sè una tremenda maestà.
23 For we moun not fynde him worthili; he is greet in strengthe, and in doom, and in riytfulnesse, and may not be teld out.
[Egli è] l'Onnipotente, noi non possiam trovarlo; [Egli è] grande in forza, Ed in giudicio, ed in grandezza di giustizia; Egli non oppressa [alcuno];
24 Therfor men schulen drede hym; and alle men, that semen to hem silf to be wise, schulen not be hardi to biholde.
Perciò gli uomini lo temono; Alcun uomo, benchè savio di cuore, no 'l può vedere.
