Job 32
1 Forsothe these thre men leften of to answere Joob, for he semyde a iust man to hem.
ORA essendo que' tre uomini restati di rispondere a Giobbe, perchè gli pareva di esser giusto;
2 And Helyu, the sone of Barachel Buzites, of the kynrede of Ram, was wrooth, and hadde indignacioun; forsothe he was wrooth ayens Joob, for he seide hym silf to be iust bifor God.
Elihu, figliuolo di Baracheel, Buzita, della nazione di Ram, si accese nell'ira contro a Giobbe, perchè giustificava sè stesso anzi che Iddio;
3 Sotheli Helyu hadde indignacioun ayens the thre frendis of hym, for thei hadden not founde resonable answere, but oneli hadde condempned Joob.
e contro a' tre amici di esso, perciocchè non aveano trovata alcuna replica, e pure aveano condannato Giobbe.
4 Therfor Helyu abood Joob spekynge, for thei, that spaken, weren eldere men.
Ora Elihu avea aspettato che Giobbe avesse parlato; perciocchè [egli ed i suoi amici] erano più attempati di lui.
5 But whanne he hadde seyn, that thre men myyten not answere, he was wrooth greetly.
Ma, veggendo che non [vi era] replica alcuna nella bocca di que' tre uomini, egli si accese nell'ira.
6 And Helyu, the sone of Barachel Buzites, answeride, and seyde, Y am yongere in tyme, sotheli ye ben eldere; therfor with heed holdun doun Y dredde to schewe to you my sentence.
Ed Elihu, figliuolo di Baracheel, Buzita, parlò, e disse: Io [son] giovane, e [voi siete] molto attempati; Perciò io ho avuta paura, ed ho temuto Di dichiararvi il mio parere.
7 For Y hopide that lengere age schulde speke, and that the multitude of yeeris schulden teche wisdom.
Io diceva: L'età parlerà, E la moltitudine degli anni farà conoscere la sapienza.
8 But as Y se, spirit is in men, and the enspiryng `ether reuelacioun, of Almyyti God yyueth vndurstondyng.
Certo lo spirito [è] negli uomini, Ma l'inspirazione dell'Onnipotente li fa intendere.
9 Men of long lijf ben not wise, and elde men vndurstonden not doom.
I maggiori non son [sempre] savi; E i vecchi [non] intendono [sempre] la dirittura.
10 Therfor Y schal seie, Here ye me, and Y also schal schewe my kunnyng to you.
Perciò io ho detto: Ascoltatemi; Ed io ancora dichiarerò il mio parere.
11 For Y abood youre wordis, Y herde youre prudence, as long as ye dispuytiden in youre wordis.
Ecco, io ho aspettate le vostre parole, Io ho pòrto l'orecchio alle vostre considerazioni, Finchè voi aveste ricercati de' ragionamenti.
12 And as long as Y gesside you to seie ony thing, Y bihelde; but as Y se, `noon is of you, that may repreue Joob, and answere to hise wordis;
Ma avendo posto mente a voi, Ecco, non [vi è] alcun di voi che convinca Giobbe, Che risponda a' suoi ragionamenti;
13 lest perauenture ye seien, We han founde wisdom; God, and not man, hath cast hym awei.
Che talora non diciate: Noi abbiamo trovata la sapienza; Scaccilo ora Iddio, [e] non un uomo.
14 Joob spak no thing to me, and Y not bi youre wordis schal answere hym.
Or egli non ha ordinati i [suoi] ragionamenti contro a me; Io altresì non gli risponderò secondo le vostre parole.
15 Thei dredden, and answeriden no more, and token awei speche fro hem silf.
Essi si sono sgomentati, non hanno più risposto; Le parole sono state loro tolte [di bocca].
16 Therfor for Y abood, and thei spaken not, thei stoden, and answeriden no more; also Y schal answere my part,
Io dunque ho aspettato; ma perciocchè non parlano [più], Perchè restano [e] non rispondono più;
17 and Y schal schewe my kunnyng.
Io ancora risponderò per la parte mia; Io ancora dichiarerò il mio parere;
18 For Y am ful of wordis, and the spirit of my wombe, `that is, mynde, constreyneth me.
Perciocchè io son pieno di parole, Lo spirito del mio ventre mi stringe.
19 Lo! my wombe is as must with out `spigot, ether a ventyng, that brekith newe vessels.
Ecco, il mio ventre [è] come un vino che non ha spiraglio, E schianterebbesi come barili nuovi.
20 Y schal speke, and brethe ayen a litil; Y schal opene my lippis, and Y schal answere.
Io parlerò adunque, ed avrò alcuna respirazione; Io aprirò le mie labbra, e risponderò.
21 Y schal not take the persoone of man, and Y schal not make God euene to man.
Già non mi avvenga di aver riguardo alla qualità della persona di alcuno; Io non m'infingerò [parlando] ad un uomo.
22 For Y woot not hou long Y schal abide, and if my Makere take me awei `after a litil tyme.
Perciocchè io non so infingermi; Altrimenti, colui che mi ha fatto di subito mi torrebbe via.
