Job 31
1 I made couenaunt with myn iyen, that Y schulde not thenke of a virgyn.
१“मैंने अपनी आँखों के विषय वाचा बाँधी है, फिर मैं किसी कुँवारी पर क्यों आँखें लगाऊँ?
2 For what part schulde God aboue haue in me, and eritage Almyyti God of hiye thingis?
२क्योंकि परमेश्वर स्वर्ग से कौन सा अंश और सर्वशक्तिमान ऊपर से कौन सी सम्पत्ति बाँटता है?
3 Whether perdicioun is not to a wickid man, and alienacioun of God is to men worchynge wickidnesse?
३क्या वह कुटिल मनुष्यों के लिये विपत्ति और अनर्थ काम करनेवालों के लिये सत्यानाश का कारण नहीं है?
4 Whether he biholdith not my weies, and noumbrith alle my goyngis?
४क्या वह मेरी गति नहीं देखता और क्या वह मेरे पग-पग नहीं गिनता?
5 If Y yede in vanyte, and my foot hastide in gile,
५यदि मैं व्यर्थ चाल चलता हूँ, या कपट करने के लिये मेरे पैर दौड़े हों;
6 God weie me in a iust balaunce, and knowe my symplenesse.
६(तो मैं धर्म के तराजू में तौला जाऊँ, ताकि परमेश्वर मेरी खराई को जान ले)।
7 If my step bowide fro the weie; if myn iye suede myn herte, and a spotte cleuede to myn hondis;
७यदि मेरे पग मार्ग से बहक गए हों, और मेरा मन मेरी आँखों की देखी चाल चला हो, या मेरे हाथों में कुछ कलंक लगा हो;
8 sowe Y, and another ete, and my generacioun be drawun out bi the root.
८तो मैं बीज बोऊँ, परन्तु दूसरा खाए; वरन् मेरे खेत की उपज उखाड़ डाली जाए।
9 If myn herte was disseyued on a womman, and if Y settide aspies at the dore of my frend; my wijf be the hoore of anothir man,
९“यदि मेरा हृदय किसी स्त्री पर मोहित हो गया है, और मैं अपने पड़ोसी के द्वार पर घात में बैठा हूँ;
10 and othir men be bowid doun on hir.
१०तो मेरी स्त्री दूसरे के लिये पीसे, और पराए पुरुष उसको भ्रष्ट करें।
11 For this is vnleueful, and the moost wickidnesse.
११क्योंकि वह तो महापाप होता; और न्यायियों से दण्ड पाने के योग्य अधर्म का काम होता;
12 Fier is deourynge `til to wastyng, and drawynge vp bi the roote alle generaciouns.
१२क्योंकि वह ऐसी आग है जो जलाकर भस्म कर देती है, और वह मेरी सारी उपज को जड़ से नाश कर देती है।
13 If Y dispiside to take doom with my seruaunt and myn hand mayde, whanne thei stryueden ayens me.
१३“जब मेरे दास व दासी ने मुझसे झगड़ा किया, तब यदि मैंने उनका हक़ मार दिया हो;
14 What sotheli schal Y do, whanne God schal rise to deme? and whanne he schal axe, what schal Y answere to hym?
१४तो जब परमेश्वर उठ खड़ा होगा, तब मैं क्या करूँगा? और जब वह आएगा तब मैं क्या उत्तर दूँगा?
15 Whether he, that wrouyte also hym, made not me in the wombe, and o God formede me in the wombe?
१५क्या वह उसका बनानेवाला नहीं जिसने मुझे गर्भ में बनाया? क्या एक ही ने हम दोनों की सूरत गर्भ में न रची थी?
16 If Y denyede to pore men that, that thei wolden, and if Y made the iyen of a wydewe to abide;
१६“यदि मैंने कंगालों की इच्छा पूरी न की हो, या मेरे कारण विधवा की आँखें कभी निराश हुई हों,
17 if Y aloone eet my mussel, and a faderles child eet not therof;
१७या मैंने अपना टुकड़ा अकेला खाया हो, और उसमें से अनाथ न खाने पाए हों,
18 for merciful doyng encreesside with me fro my yong childhed, and yede out of my modris wombe with me;
१८(परन्तु वह मेरे लड़कपन ही से मेरे साथ इस प्रकार पला जिस प्रकार पिता के साथ, और मैं जन्म ही से विधवा को पालता आया हूँ);
19 if Y dispiside a man passynge forth, for he hadde not a cloth, and a pore man with out hilyng;
१९यदि मैंने किसी को वस्त्रहीन मरते हुए देखा, या किसी दरिद्र को जिसके पास ओढ़ने को न था
20 if hise sidis blessiden not me, and was not maad hoot of the fleeces of my scheep;
२०और उसको अपनी भेड़ों की ऊन के कपड़े न दिए हों, और उसने गर्म होकर मुझे आशीर्वाद न दिया हो;
21 if Y reiside myn hond on a fadirles child, yhe, whanne Y siy me the hiyere in the yate;
२१या यदि मैंने फाटक में अपने सहायक देखकर अनाथों के मारने को अपना हाथ उठाया हो,
22 my schuldre falle fro his ioynt, and myn arm with hise boonys be al to-brokun.
२२तो मेरी बाँह कंधे से उखड़कर गिर पड़े, और मेरी भुजा की हड्डी टूट जाए।
23 For euere Y dredde God, as wawis wexynge gret on me; and `Y myyte not bere his birthun.
२३क्योंकि परमेश्वर के प्रताप के कारण मैं ऐसा नहीं कर सकता था, क्योंकि उसकी ओर की विपत्ति के कारण मैं भयभीत होकर थरथराता था।
24 If Y gesside gold my strengthe, and if Y seide to purid gold, Thou art my trist;
२४“यदि मैंने सोने का भरोसा किया होता, या कुन्दन को अपना आसरा कहा होता,
25 if Y was glad on my many ritchessis, and for myn hond foond ful many thingis;
२५या अपने बहुत से धन या अपनी बड़ी कमाई के कारण आनन्द किया होता,
26 if Y siy the sunne, whanne it schynede, and the moone goynge clereli;
२६या सूर्य को चमकते या चन्द्रमा को महाशोभा से चलते हुए देखकर
27 and if myn herte was glad in priuyte, and if Y kisside myn hond with my mouth;
२७मैं मन ही मन मोहित हो गया होता, और अपने मुँह से अपना हाथ चूम लिया होता;
28 which is the moost wickidnesse, and deniyng ayens hiyeste God;
२८तो यह भी न्यायियों से दण्ड पाने के योग्य अधर्म का काम होता; क्योंकि ऐसा करके मैंने सर्वश्रेष्ठ परमेश्वर का इन्कार किया होता।
29 if Y hadde ioye at the fallyng of hym, that hatide me, and if Y ioide fulli, that yuel hadde founde hym;
२९“यदि मैं अपने बैरी के नाश से आनन्दित होता, या जब उस पर विपत्ति पड़ी तब उस पर हँसा होता;
30 for Y yaf not my throte to do synne, that Y schulde asaile and curse his soule;
३०(परन्तु मैंने न तो उसको श्राप देते हुए, और न उसके प्राणदण्ड की प्रार्थना करते हुए अपने मुँह से पाप किया है);
31 if the men of my tabernacle seiden not, Who yyueth, that we be fillid of hise fleischis? a pilgryme dwellide not with outforth;
३१यदि मेरे डेरे के रहनेवालों ने यह न कहा होता, ‘ऐसा कोई कहाँ मिलेगा, जो इसके यहाँ का माँस खाकर तृप्त न हुआ हो?’
32 my dore was opyn to a weiegoere;
३२(परदेशी को सड़क पर टिकना न पड़ता था; मैं बटोही के लिये अपना द्वार खुला रखता था);
33 if Y as man hidde my synne, and helide my wickidnesse in my bosum;
३३यदि मैंने आदम के समान अपना अपराध छिपाकर अपने अधर्म को ढाँप लिया हो,
34 if Y dredde at ful greet multitude, and if dispisyng of neyyboris made me aferd; and not more Y was stille, and yede not out of the dore;
३४इस कारण कि मैं बड़ी भीड़ से भय खाता था, या कुलीनों से तुच्छ किए जाने से डर गया यहाँ तक कि मैं द्वार से बाहर न निकला-
35 who yyueth an helpere to me, that Almyyti God here my desire? that he that demeth,
३५भला होता कि मेरा कोई सुननेवाला होता! सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर अभी मेरा न्याय चुकाए! देखो, मेरा दस्तखत यही है। भला होता कि जो शिकायतनामा मेरे मुद्दई ने लिखा है वह मेरे पास होता!
36 write a book, that Y bere it in my schuldre, and cumpasse it as a coroun to me?
३६निश्चय मैं उसको अपने कंधे पर उठाए फिरता; और सुन्दर पगड़ी जानकर अपने सिर में बाँधे रहता।
37 Bi alle my degrees Y schal pronounce it, and Y schal as offre it to the prynce.
३७मैं उसको अपने पग-पग का हिसाब देता; मैं उसके निकट प्रधान के समान निडर जाता।
38 If my lond crieth ayens me, and hise forewis wepen with it;
३८“यदि मेरी भूमि मेरे विरुद्ध दुहाई देती हो, और उसकी रेघारियाँ मिलकर रोती हों;
39 if Y eet fruytis therof with out money, and Y turmentide the soule of erthetileris of it;
३९यदि मैंने अपनी भूमि की उपज बिना मजदूरी दिए खाई, या उसके मालिक का प्राण लिया हो;
40 a brere growe to me for wheete, and a thorn for barli.
४०तो गेहूँ के बदले झड़बेरी, और जौ के बदले जंगली घास उगें!” अय्यूब के वचन पूरे हुए हैं।
