Job 18
1 Forsothe Baldach Suythes answeride, and seide,
इसके बाद शूही बिलदद ने अपनी प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त की:
2 `Til to what ende schalt thou booste with wordis? Vndurstonde thou first, and so speke we.
“कब तक तुम इसी प्रकार शब्दों में उलझे रहोगे? कुछ सार्थक विषय प्रस्तुत करो, कि कुछ परिणाम प्रकट हो सके.
3 Whi ben we arettid as beestis, and han we be foule bifor thee?
हमें पशु क्यों समझा जा रहा है? क्या हम तुम्हारी दृष्टि में मूर्ख हैं?
4 What leesist thou thi soule in thi woodnes? Whether the erthe schal be forsakun `for thee, and hard stoonys schulen be borun ouer fro her place?
तुम, जो क्रोध में स्वयं को फाड़े जा रहे हो, क्या, तुम्हारे हित में तो पृथ्वी अब उजड़ हो जानी चाहिए? अथवा, क्या चट्टान को अपनी जगह से अलग किया जाये?
5 Whethir the liyt of a wickid man schal not be quenchid; and the flawme of his fier schal not schyne?
“सत्य तो यह है कि दुर्वृत्त का दीप वस्तुतः बुझ चुका है; उसके द्वारा प्रज्वलित अग्निशिखा में तो प्रकाश ही नहीं है.
6 Liyt schal wexe derke in his tabernacle; and the lanterne, which is on hym, schal be quenchid.
उसका तंबू अंधकार में है; उसके ऊपर का दीपक बुझ गया है.
7 The steppis of his vertu schulen be maad streit; and his counsel schal caste hym doun.
उसकी द्रुत चाल को रोक दिया गया है; तथा उसकी अपनी युक्ति उसे ले डूबी,
8 For he hath sent hise feet in to a net; and he goith in the meschis therof.
क्योंकि वह तो अपने जाल में जा फंसा है; उसने अपने ही फंदे में पैर डाल दिया है.
9 His foot schal be holdun with a snare; and thirst schal brenne out ayens hym.
उसकी एड़ी पर वह फंदा जा पड़ा तथा संपूर्ण उपकरण उसी पर आ गिरा है,
10 The foot trappe of hym is hid in the erthe, and his snare on the path.
भूमि के नीचे उसके लिए वह गांठ छिपाई गई थी; उसके रास्ते में एक फंदा रखा गया था.
11 Dredis schulen make hym aferd on ech side, and schulen biwlappe hise feet.
अब तो आतंक ने उसे चारों ओर से घेर रखा है तथा उसके पीछे पड़कर उसे सता रहे हैं.
12 His strengthe be maad feble bi hungur; and pouert asaile hise ribbis.
उसके बल का ठट्ठा हुआ जा रहा है; विपत्ति उसके निकट ठहरी हुई है.
13 Deuoure it the fairnesse of his skyn; the firste gendrid deth waste hise armes.
उसकी खाल पर घोर व्याधि लगी हुई है; उसके अंगों को मृत्यु के पहलौठे ने खाना बना लिया है.
14 His trist be takun awei fro his tabernacle; and perischyng, as a kyng, aboue trede on hym.
उसके ही तंबू की सुरक्षा में से उसे झपट लिया गया है अब वे उसे आतंक के राजा के सामने प्रदर्शित हो रहे हैं.
15 The felowis of hym that is not, dwelle in his tabernacle; brymston be spreynt in his tabernacle.
अब उसके तंबू में विदेशी जा बसे हैं; उसके घर पर गंधक छिड़क दिया गया है.
16 The rootis of hym be maad drie bynethe; sotheli his ripe corn be al to-brokun aboue.
भूमि के भीतर उसकी जड़ें अब शुष्क हो चुकी हैं तथा ऊपर उनकी शाखाएं काटी जा चुकी हैं.
17 His mynde perische fro the erthe; and his name be not maad solempne in stretis.
धरती के लोग उसको याद नहीं करेंगे; बस अब कोई भी उसको याद नहीं करेगा.
18 He schal put hym out fro `liyt in to derknessis; and he schal bere hym ouer fro the world.
उसे तो प्रकाश में से अंधकार में धकेल दिया गया है तथा मनुष्यों के समाज से उसे खदेड़ दिया गया है.
19 Nethir his seed nether kynrede schal be in his puple, nether ony relifs in hise cuntreis.
मनुष्यों के मध्य उसका कोई वंशज नहीं रह गया है, जहां-जहां वह प्रवास करता है, वहां उसका कोई उत्तरजीवी नहीं.
20 The laste men schulen wondre in hise daies; and hidousnesse schal asaile the firste men.
पश्चिमी क्षेत्रों में उसकी स्थिति पर लोग चकित होंगे तथा पूर्वी क्षेत्रों में भय ने लोगों को जकड़ लिया है.
21 Therfor these ben the tabernaclis of a wickid man; and this is the place of hym, that knowith not God.
निश्चयतः दुर्वृत्तों का निवास ऐसा ही होता है; उनका निवास, जिन्हें परमेश्वर का कोई ज्ञान नहीं है.”
