Jeremiah 9
1 Who schal yyue watir to myn heed, and a welle of teeris to myn iyen? And Y schal biwepe dai and niyt the slayn men of the douyter of my puple.
अच्छा होता कि मेरा सिर जल का सोता तथा मेरे नेत्र आंसुओं से भरे जाते कि मैं घात किए गए अपने प्रिय लोगों के लिए रात-दिन विलाप करता रहता!
2 Who schal yyue me in to a wildirnesse of dyuerse weigoeris? And I schal forsake my puple, and Y schal go awei fro hem. For whi alle ben auowteris, and the cumpenyes of trespassouris ayens the lawe;
अच्छा होता कि मैं मरुभूमि में यात्रियों का आश्रय-स्थल होता, कि मैं अपने लोगों को परित्याग कर उनसे दूर जा सकता; उन सभी ने व्यभिचार किया है, वे सभी विश्वासघातियों की सभा हैं.
3 and thei helden forth her tunge as a bouwe of leesyng, and not of treuthe Thei ben coumfortid in erthe, for thei yeden out fro yuel to yuel, and thei knewen not me, seith the Lord.
“वे अपनी जीभ का प्रयोग अपने धनुष सदृश करते हैं; देश में सत्य नहीं असत्य व्याप्त हो चुका है. वे एक संकट से दूसरे संकट में प्रवेश करते जाते हैं; वे मेरे अस्तित्व ही की उपेक्षा करते हैं,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.
4 Ech man kepe hym fro his neiybore, and haue no trist in ony brother of hym; for whi ech brother disseyuyng schal disseyue, and ech frend schal go gilefuli.
“उपयुक्त होगा कि हर एक अपने पड़ोसी से सावधान रहे; कोई अपने भाई-बन्धु पर भरोसा न करे. क्योंकि हर एक भाई का व्यवहार धूर्ततापूर्ण होता है, तथा हर एक पड़ोसी अपभाषण करता फिरता है.
5 And a man schal scorne his brother, and schal not speke treuthe; for thei tauyten her tunge to speke leesyng; thei traueliden to do wickidli.
हर एक अपने पड़ोसी से छल कर रहा है, और सत्य उसके भाषण में है ही नहीं. अपनी जीभ को उन्होंने झूठी भाषा में प्रशिक्षित कर दिया है; अंत होने के बिंदु तक वे अधर्म करते जाते हैं.
6 Thi dwellyng is in the myddis of gile; in gile thei forsoken to knowe me, seith the Lord.
तुम्हारा आवास धोखे के मध्य स्थापित है; धोखा ही वह कारण है, जिसके द्वारा वे मेरे अस्तित्व की उपेक्षा करते हैं,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.
7 Therfor the Lord of oostis seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal welle togidere, and Y schal preue hem; for whi what other thing schal Y do fro the face of the douyter of my puple?
इसलिये सेनाओं के याहवेह की चेतावनी यह है: “यह देख लेना, कि मैं उन्हें आग में शुद्ध करूंगा तथा उन्हें परखूंगा, क्योंकि अपने प्रिय लोगों के कारण मेरे समक्ष इसके सिवा और कौन सा विकल्प शेष रह जाता है?
8 The tunge of hem is an arowe woundynge, and spak gile; in his mouth he spekith pees with his frend, and priueli he settith tresouns to hym.
उनकी जीभ घातक बाण है; जिसका वचन फंसाने ही का होता है. अपने मुख से तो वह अपने पड़ोसी को कल्याण का आश्वासन देता है, किंतु मन ही मन वह उसके लिए घात लगाने की युक्ति करता रहता है.
9 Whether Y schal not visite on these thingis, seith the Lord, ether schal not my soule take veniaunce on siche a folc?
क्या उपयुक्त नहीं कि मैं उन्हें इन कृत्यों के लिए दंड दूं?” यह याहवेह की वाणी है. “क्या मैं इस प्रकार के राष्ट्र से स्वयं बदला न लूं?”
10 On hillis Y schal take wepyng and mournyng, and weilyng on the faire thingis of desert, for tho ben brent; for no man is passynge forth, and thei herden not the vois of hym that weldith; fro a brid of the eir `til to scheep, tho passiden ouer, and yeden awei.
पर्वतों के लिए मैं विलाप करूंगा और चराइयों एवं निर्जन क्षेत्रों के लिए मैं शोक के गीत गाऊंगा. क्योंकि अब वे सब उजाड़ पड़े है कोई भी उनके मध्य से चला फिरा नहीं करता, वहां पशुओं के रम्भाने का स्वर सुना ही नहीं जाता. आकाश के पक्षी एवं पशु भाग चुके हैं, वे वहां हैं ही नहीं.
11 And Y schal yyue Jerusalem in to heepis of grauel, and in to dennes of dragouns; and Y schal yyue the citees of Juda in to desolacioun, for ther is no dwellere.
“येरूशलेम को मैं खंडहरों का ढेर, और सियारों का बसेरा बना छोड़ूंगा; यहूदिया प्रदेश के नगरों को मैं उजाड़ बना दूंगा वहां एक भी निवासी न रहेगा.”
12 Who is a wise man that schal vndurstonde these thingis, and to whom the word of the mouth of the Lord schal be maad, that he telle this? Whi the erthe perischide, it is brent as desert, for noon is that passith?
कौन है वह बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति जो इसे समझ सकेगा? तथा कौन है वह जिससे याहवेह ने बात की कि वह उसकी व्याख्या कर सके? सारा देश उजाड़ कैसे हो गया? कैसे मरुभूमि सदृश निर्जन हो गई, कि कोई भी वहां से चला फिरा नहीं करता?
13 And the Lord seide, For thei forsoken my lawe, which Y yaf to hem, and thei herden not my vois, and thei yeden not therynne;
याहवेह ने उत्तर दिया, “इसलिये कि उन्होंने मेरे विधान की अवहेलना की है, जो स्वयं मैंने उनके लिए नियत किया तथा उन्होंने न तो मेरे आदेशों का पालन किया और न ही उसके अनुरूप आचरण ही किया.
14 and thei yeden aftir the schrewidnesse of her herte, and aftir Baalym, which thei lerneden of her fadris;
बल्कि, वे अपने हठीले हृदय की समझ के अनुरूप आचरण करते रहे; वे अपने पूर्वजों की शिक्षा पर बाल देवताओं का अनुसरण करते रहें.”
15 therfor the Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal fede this puple with wermod, and Y schal yyue to hem drynke the watir of galle.
इसलिये सेनाओं के याहवेह, इस्राएल के परमेश्वर ने निश्चय किया: “यह देख लेना, मैं उन्हें पेय के लिए कड़वा नागदौन तथा विष से भरा जल दूंगा.
16 And Y schal scatere hem among hethene men, whiche thei and her fadris knewen not; and Y schal sende swerd aftir hem, til thei ben wastid.
मैं उन्हें ऐसे राष्ट्रों के मध्य बिखरा दूंगा जिन्हें न तो उन्होंने और न उनके पूर्वजों ने जाना है, मैं उनके पीछे उस समय तक तलवार तैयार रखूंगा, जब तक उनका पूर्ण अंत न हो जाए.”
17 The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Biholde ye, and clepe ye wymmen `that weilen, and come thei; and sende ye to tho wymmen that ben wise, and haste thei.
यह सेनाओं के याहवेह का आदेश है: “विचार करके उन स्त्रियों को बुला लो, जिनका व्यवसाय ही है विलाप करना, कि वे यहां आ जाएं; उन स्त्रियों को, जो विलाप करने में निपुण हैं,
18 Haste thei, and take thei weilynge on you; youre iyen brynge doun teeris, and youre iyelidis flowe with watris;
कि वे यहां तुरंत आएं तथा हमारे लिए विलाप करें कि हमारे नेत्रों से आंसू उमड़ने लगे, कि हमारी पलकों से आंसू बहने लगे.
19 for the vois of weilyng is herd fro Sion. Hou ben we distried, and schent greetli? for we han forsake the lond, for oure tabernaclis ben forsakun.
क्योंकि ज़ियोन से यह विलाप सुनाई दे रहा है: ‘कैसे हो गया है हमारा विनाश! हम पर घोर लज्जा आ पड़ी है! क्योंकि हमने अपने देश को छोड़ दिया है क्योंकि उन्होंने हमारे आवासों को ढाह दिया है.’”
20 Therfor, wymmen, here ye the word of the Lord, and youre eeris take the word of his mouth; and teche ye youre douytris weilyng, and ech womman teche hir neiybore mournyng.
स्त्रियों, अब तुम याहवेह का संदेश सुनो; तुम्हारे कान उनके मुख के वचन सुनें. अपनी पुत्रियों को विलाप करना सिखा दो; तथा हर एक अपने-अपने पड़ोसी को शोक गीत सिखाए.
21 For whi deth stiede bi youre wyndows, it entride in to youre housis, to leese litle children with outforth, and yonge men fro the stretis.
क्योंकि मृत्यु का प्रवेश हमारी खिड़कियों से हुआ है यह हमारे महलों में प्रविष्ट हो चुका है; कि गलियों में बालक नष्ट किए जा सकें तथा नगर चौकों में से जवान.
22 Speke thou, the Lord seith, these thingis, And the deed bodi of a man schal fal doun as a toord on the face of the cuntrei, and as hei bihynde the bak of the mowere, and noon is that gaderith.
यह वाणी करो, “याहवेह की ओर से यह संदेश है: “‘मनुष्यों के शव खुले मैदान में विष्ठा सदृश पड़े हुए दिखाई देंगे, तथा फसल काटनेवाले द्वारा छोड़ी गई पूली सदृश, किंतु कोई भी इन्हें एकत्र नहीं करेगा.’”
23 The Lord seith these thingis, A wise man haue not glorie in his wisdom, and a strong man haue not glorie in his strengthe, and a riche man haue not glorie in hise richessis; but he that hath glorie,
याहवेह की ओर से यह आदेश है: “न तो बुद्धिमान अपनी बुद्धि का अहंकार करे न शक्तिवान अपने पौरुष का न धनाढ्य अपनी धन संपदा का,
24 haue glorie in this, to wite and knowe me, for Y am the Lord, that do merci and dom and riytfulnesse in erthe. For whi these thingis plesen me, seith the Lord.
जो गर्व करे इस बात पर गर्व करे: कि उसे मेरे संबंध में यह समझ एवं ज्ञान है, कि मैं याहवेह हूं जो पृथ्वी पर निर्जर प्रेम, न्याय एवं धार्मिकता को प्रयोग करता हूं, क्योंकि ये ही मेरे आनंद का विषय है,” यह याहवेह की वाणी है.
25 Lo! daies comen, seith the Lord, and Y schal visite on ech man that hath prepucie vncircumcidid; on Egipt,
“यह ध्यान रहे कि ऐसे दिन आ रहे हैं,” याहवेह यह वाणी दे रहे हैं, “जब मैं उन सभी को दंड दूंगा, जो ख़तनित होने पर भी अख़तनित ही हैं—
26 and on Juda, and on Edom, and on the sones of Amon, and on Moab, and on alle men that ben clippid on long heer, and dwellen in desert; for whi alle hethene men han prepucie, forsothe al the hous of Israel ben vncircumcidid in herte.
मिस्र, यहूदिया, एदोम, अम्मोन वंशज, मोआब तथा वे सभी, जिनका निवास मरुभूमि में है, जो अपनी कनपटी के केश क़तर डालते हैं. ये सभी जनता अख़तनित हैं, तथा इस्राएल के सारे वंशज वस्तुतः हृदय में अख़तनित ही हैं.”
