Jeremiah 8
1 In that tyme, seith the Lord, thei schulen caste out the boonys of the kingis of Juda, and the boonys of princes therof, and the boonys of prestis, and the boonys of profetis, and the boonys of hem that dwelliden in Jerusalem fro her sepulcris;
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “ʻI he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia te nau ʻomi mei honau ngaahi faʻitoka, ʻae hui ʻoe ngaahi tuʻi ʻo Siuta, mo e ngaahi hui ʻoe houʻeiki, mo e hui ʻoe kau taulaʻeiki, mo e hui ʻoe kau palōfita, pea mo e ngaahi hui ʻoe kakai ʻo Selūsalema.
2 and thei schulen leie abrood tho boonys to the sunne, and moone, and to al the knyythod of heuene, which thei louyden, and which thei seruyden, and aftir whiche thei yeden, and whiche thei souyten, and worschipiden; tho schulen not be gaderid, and schulen not be biried; tho schulen be in to a dunghil on the face of erthe.
Pea te nau fofola ʻakinautolu ʻi he ʻao ʻoe laʻā, pea mo e māhina, mo e meʻa kotoa pē ʻoe langi, ʻaia kuo nau ʻofa ki ai, pea kuo nau tauhi, pea kuo nau muimui ki ai, pea kuo nau kumi pea kuo nau lotu ki ai; pea ʻe ʻikai tānaki ʻakinautolu, pe tanu; ka te nau hoko ko e kinohaʻa ʻi he funga ʻoe kelekele.
3 And alle men schulen cheese deth more than lijf, whiche ben left of this worst kynrede, in alle places that ben left, to whiche places Y castide hem out, seith the Lord of oostis.
Pea ʻe fili ʻae mate ʻi he moʻui ʻekinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku toe ʻi he faʻahinga kovi ni, ʻakinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku toe ʻi he ngaahi potu kuo u kapusi ʻakinautolu ki ai,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau.
4 And thou schalt seie to hem, The Lord seith these thingis, Whether he that schal falle, schal not rise ayen? and whether he that is turned awei, schal not turne ayen?
“Pea te ke lea kiate kinautolu foki, ‘ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova; “‘Te nau hinga, pea ʻe ʻikai toetuʻu? Te ne ʻalu atu pea ʻe ʻikai toe foki mai?
5 Whi therfor is this puple in Jerusalem turned awei bi turnyng awei ful of strijf? Thei han take leesyng, and nolden turne ayen.
Ka ko e hā kuo fakaholomui ai ʻae kakai ni ʻo Selūsalema ʻo fakaholomui maʻuaipē? ʻOku nau kuku maʻu ki he kākā, ʻoku ʻikai te nau fie tafoki mai.
6 Y perseyuede, and herknede; no man spekith that that is good, noon is that doith penaunce for his synne, and seith, What haue Y do? Alle ben turnede togidere to her cours, as an hors goynge bi fersnesse to batel.
Pea naʻaku fakafanongo pea ongoʻi, ka naʻe ʻikai te nau lea totonu: naʻe ʻikai ha tangata kuo fakatomala ʻi heʻene kovi, ʻo ne pehē, “Ko e hā kuo u fai?” Kuo taki taha foki ki heʻene anga ʻaʻana, ʻo hangē ko e ʻoho ʻae hoosi ki he tau.
7 A kite in the eir knew his tyme; a turtle, and a swalewe, and a siconye, kepten the tyme of her comyng; but my puple knew not the doom of the Lord.
ʻIo, ʻoku ʻilo ʻe he motuku ʻi he langi hono ngaahi ʻaho kuo tuʻutuʻuni; pea mo e lupe, mo e kelene, pea mo e sualo honau ʻaho ke haʻu ai; ka ʻoku ʻikai ʻilo ʻe hoku kakai ʻae fakamaau ʻa Sihova.
8 Hou seien ye, We ben wise men, and the lawe of the Lord is with vs? Verili the fals writyng of scribis wrouyte leesyng.
“‘ʻOku fēfē hoʻomou pehē, “ʻOku mau poto, pea ʻoku ʻiate kimautolu ʻae fono ʻa Sihova?” Ko e moʻoni kuo liliu ʻae meʻa ni ko e loi, ʻe he peni kākā ʻae kau tangata tohi.
9 Wise men ben schent, ben maad aferd and takun. For thei castiden awei the word of the Lord, and no wisdom is in hem.
Kuo mā ʻae kau tangata poto, kuo tauhele mo fakailifia ʻakinautolu: Vakai, kuo nau liʻaki ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova; pea ko e hā ʻae poto ʻoku ʻiate kinautolu?
10 Therfor Y schal yyue the wymmen of hem to straungeris, and the feeldis of hem to alien eiris; for fro the leeste `til to the mooste alle suen aueryce, fro a profete `til to the preest alle maken leesyng;

11 and thei heeliden the sorowe of the douytir of my puple to schenschipe, seiynge, Pees, pees, whanne no pees was.
He kuo nau fakamoʻui kākā ʻae lavea ʻoe ʻofefine ʻo hoku kakai, ʻonau pehē, “Fiemālie, fiemālie;” ka ʻoku ʻikai ha fiemālie.
12 Thei ben schent, for thei diden abhomynacioun; yhe, rather thei weren not schent bi schenschipe, and kouden not be aschamed. Therfor thei schulen falle among falleris, in the tyme of her visitacioun thei schulen falle, seith the Lord.
He naʻa nau mā ʻi he hili ʻenau fai ʻae meʻa fakalielia? Naʻe ʻikai; naʻe ʻikai ʻaupito te nau mā, pe fekulaʻi honau mata: ko ia te nau tō hifo fakataha mo kinautolu ʻoku hinga: ʻe fakatō ki lalo ʻakinautolu, ʻo kau ka tautea ʻakinautolu, ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova.’”
13 I gaderynge schal gadere hem, seith the Lord; no grape is in the vynes, and figis ben not in the fige tre; a leef felle doun, and Y yaf to hem tho thingis that ben go out ouer.
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Ko e moʻoni te u fakaʻauha ʻakinautolu:” ʻe ʻikai fua ʻae ngaahi vaine, pea ʻe ʻikai fua ʻae ngaahi fiki, ka ʻe mae hono lau; pea ʻe mole ʻiate kinautolu ʻae ngaahi meʻa naʻaku foaki kiate kinautolu.”
14 Whi sitten we? come ye togidere, entre we in to a strong citee, and be we stille there; for oure Lord hath maad vs to be stille, and yaf to vs drynk the watir of galle; for we han synned to the Lord.
“Ko e hā ʻoku tau nofo fakafiemālie ai? Ke tau fakataha pea ʻalu ki he ngaahi kolo mālohi, pea ke tau tatali fakalongolongo ʻi ai: he kuo fakalongoʻi ʻakitautolu ʻe Sihova ko hotau ʻOtua, pea kuo ne foaki kiate kitautolu ʻae huhuʻa kona ʻoe ʻahu ke inu, koeʻuhi kuo tau fai angahala kia Sihova.
15 We abididen pees, and no good was; we abididen tyme of medicyn, and lo! drede is.
Naʻa tau ʻamanaki ki he fiemālie, ka naʻe ʻikai haʻu ha lelei; ki he fakamoʻui, ka e vakai ko e mamahi!
16 Gnastyng of horsis therof is herd fro Dan; al the lond is moued of the vois of neiyngis of hise werriours; and thei camen, and deuouriden the lond, and the plente therof, the citee, and the dwelleris therof.
Naʻe ongo mai mei Tani ʻae tangi ʻo ʻene fanga hoosi, naʻe ngalulu ʻae fonua kotoa pē ʻi he ʻuʻulu ʻae tangi ʻae fanga hoosi tau; he kuo nau haʻu mo kai ʻo ʻosi ʻae fonua, mo e meʻa fulipē naʻe ʻi ai; ko e kolo, mo kinautolu ʻoku nofo ai.”
17 For lo! Y schal sende to you the werste serpentis, to whiche is no charmyng; and thei schulen bite you, seith the Lord.
He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, “Vakai, te u fekau kiate kinautolu ʻae fanga ngata mo e fanga ngata fekai, ʻaia ʻoku ʻikai faʻa fakalata, pea te nau ʻuusi ʻakinautolu.”
18 My sorewe is on sorewe, myn herte is mourenynge in me.
ʻO kau ka fakafiemālieʻi au ʻi heʻeku mamahi, ʻoku vaivai hoku loto ʻiate au.
19 And lo! the vois of cry of the douyter of my puple cometh fro a fer lond. Whether the Lord is not in Sion, ethir the kyng therof is not therynne? Whi therfor stiriden thei me to wrathfulnesse bi her grauun ymagis, and bi alien vanytees?
Vakai, ko e leʻo ʻoe tangi ʻae ʻofefine ʻo hoku kakai, koeʻuhi ko kinautolu ʻoku nofo ʻi he fonua mamaʻo: “ʻIkai ʻoku ʻi Saione ʻe Sihova? ʻIkai ʻoku ʻiate ia hono tuʻi?” “Ko e hā ʻoku nau fakaʻita ai au ʻaki ʻenau ngaahi tamapua kuo tongi, pea mo e ngaahi meʻa vaʻinga?”
20 Heruest is passid, somer is endid; and we ben not sauyd.
“Kuo ʻosi ʻae ututaʻu, kuo hili ʻae faʻahitaʻu mafana, pea ʻoku teʻeki ai fakamoʻui ʻakitautolu.”
21 Y am turmentid, and sori on the sorewe of the douyter of my puple; astonying helde me.
He ko e mamahi ʻo hoku kakai, ʻoku ou mamahi ai; ʻoku ou ʻalu mamahi, kuo pukea au ʻi he fakatumutumu.
22 Whether resyn is not in Galaad, ether a leche is not there? Whi therfor the wounde of the douytir of my puple is not heelid perfitli?
ʻIkai ʻoku ai ʻae lolo faitoʻo ʻi Kiliati? ʻIkai ʻoku ai ha faitoʻo ʻi ai? Pea ko e hā ʻoku ʻikai moʻui ai ʻae ʻofefine ʻo hoku kakai?
