Jeremiah 47

1 The word of the Lord, that was maad to Jeremye, the profete, ayens Palestyns, bifor that Farao smoot Gaza.

১পলেষ্টীয়দের বিষয়ে সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য ভাববাদী যিরমিয়ের কাছে এল। ফরৌণ ঘসা আক্রমণ করবার আগে এই বাক্য এল।

2 The Lord seith these thingis, Lo! watris schulen stie fro the north, and tho schulen be as a stronde flowynge, and tho schulen hile the lond, and the fulnesse therof, the citee, and the dwelleris therof. Men schulen crie, and alle the dwelleris of the lond schulen yelle,

২“সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, ‘দেখ, উত্তর দিক থেকে বন্যার জল উথলে উঠছে। তারা প্লাবনকারী নদীর মত হবে! তখন তা দেশ এবং তার সব কিছু, সমস্ত শহর ও তার বাসিন্দা সমস্ত কিছুকে ছাপিয়ে যাবে! তাতে সবাই সাহায্যের জন্য চিৎকার করবে এবং দেশের সমস্ত বাসিন্দা বিলাপ করবে।

৩শত্রুর শক্তিশালী ঘোড়ার খুরের খটাখট শব্দ, রথের গর্জন এবং তাদের চাকার শব্দে বাবারা তাদের দুর্বলতার জন্য ছেলে মেয়েদের সাহায্য করবে না।

৪কারণ সেই দিন আসছে, যেদিন সমস্ত পলেষ্টীয় ধ্বংস হবে, সোর ও সীদোন যারা তাদের সাহায্য করে, তাদের উচ্ছেদ করবে। কারণ সদাপ্রভু পলেষ্টীয়দের ধ্বংস করছেন, যারা কপ্তোরের অবশিষ্ট লোক।

৫ঘসার উপর টাক পড়ল। অস্কিলোন, তাদের উপত্যকার অবশিষ্ট লোকেরা নিশ্চুপ হয়ে যাবে। কতদিন তোমরা বিলাপ করে নিজেদের কাটাকুটি করবে?

6 Hou longe schalt thou falle doun, O! swerd of the Lord, hou long schalt thou not reste? Entre thou in to thi schethe, be thou refreischid, and be stille.

৬সদাপ্রভুর তরোয়াল ধিক তোমাকে! আর কত দিন পরে তুমি শান্ত হবে? তোমার খাপে তুমি ফিরে যাও; থাম এবং শান্ত হও’।

7 Hou schal it reste, whanne the Lord comaundide to it ayens Ascalon, and ayens the see coostis therof, and there hath seide to it?

৭তুমি কিভাবে শান্ত হতে পারো, কারণ সদাপ্রভু তোমায় আদেশ দিয়েছেন। তিনি তোমাকে অস্কিলোন ও সমুদ্রের বেলাভূমির বিরুদ্ধে আক্রমণ করতে আদেশ দিয়েছি।”
