Jeremiah 40
1 The word that was maad of the Lord to Jeremye, aftir that he was delyuered of Nabusardan, maister of chyualrie, fro Rama, whanne he took hym boundun with chaynes, in the myddis of alle men that passiden fro Jerusalem, and fro Juda, and weren led in to Babyloyne.
Das Wort, welches von seiten Jehovas zu Jeremia geschah, nachdem Nebusaradan, der Oberste der Leibwache, ihn von Rama entlassen hatte, als er ihn holen ließ, und er mit Ketten gebunden war inmitten aller Weggeführten von Jerusalem und Juda, die nach Babel weggeführt wurden.
2 Therfor the prince of chyualrie took Jeremye, and seide to hym, Thi Lord God spak this yuel on this place,
Und der Oberste der Leibwache ließ Jeremia holen und sprach zu ihm: Jehova, dein Gott, hat dieses Unglück über diesen Ort geredet;
3 and the Lord hath brouyt, and hath do, as he spak; for ye synneden to the Lord, and herden not the vois of hym, and this word is doon to you.
und Jehova hat es kommen lassen und hat getan, wie er geredet hatte; denn ihr habt gegen Jehova gesündigt und auf seine Stimme nicht gehört, und so ist euch solches geschehen.
4 Now therfor lo! Y haue releessid thee to dai fro the chaynes that ben in thin hondis; if it plesith thee to come with me in to Babiloyne, come thou, and Y schal sette myn iyen on thee; sotheli if it displesith thee to come with me in to Babiloyne, sitte thou here; lo! al the lond is in thi siyt, that that thou chesist, and whidur it plesith thee to go, thidur go thou,
Und nun siehe, ich löse dich heute von den Ketten, die an deinen Händen sind; wenn es gut ist in deinen Augen, mit mir nach Babel zu kommen, so komm, und ich werde mein Auge auf dich richten; wenn es aber übel ist in deinen Augen, mit mir nach Babel zu kommen, so laß es. Siehe, das ganze Land ist vor dir; wohin es gut und wohin es recht ist in deinen Augen zu gehen, dahin geh. -
5 and nyle thou come with me. But dwelle thou with Godolie, sone of Aicham, sone of Saphan, whom the kyng of Babiloyne made souereyn to the citees of Juda; therfor dwelle thou with hym in the myddis of the puple, ether go thou, whidir euer it plesith thee to go. And the maister of chyualrie yaf to hym metis, and yiftis, and lefte hym.
Und da er sich noch nicht entschließen konnte, sprach er: So kehre zurück zu Gedalja, dem Sohne Achikams, des Sohnes Schaphans, welchen der König von Babel über die Städte Judas bestellt hat, und wohne bei ihm inmitten des Volkes; oder wohin irgend es recht ist in deinen Augen zu gehen, dahin geh. Und der Oberste der Leibwache gab ihm Zehrung und ein Geschenk und entließ ihn.
6 Forsothe Jeremye cam to Godolie, sone of Aicham, in to Masphat, and dwellide with hym, in the myddis of the puple that was left in the lond.
Und Jeremia kam zu Gedalja, dem Sohne Achikams, nach Mizpa; und er wohnte bei ihm inmitten des Volkes, das im Lande übriggeblieben war.
7 And whanne alle princes of the oost hadden herd, that weren scatered bi cuntreis, thei and the felowis of hem, that the kyng of Babiloyne hadde maad Godolie souereyn of the lond, the sone of Aicham, and that he hadde bitake to Godolie men, and wymmen, and litle children, and of pore men of the lond, that weren not translatid in to Babiloyne,
Und als alle Heerobersten, die im Gefilde waren, sie und ihre Männer, hörten, daß der König von Babel Gedalja, den Sohn Achikams, über das Land bestellt, und daß er ihm Männer und Weiber und Kinder und von den Geringen des Landes anvertraut hatte, von denen, welche nicht nach Babel weggeführt worden waren,
8 thei camen to Godolie in Masphat; and Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, and Johannan, the sone of Caree, and Jonathan, and Sareas, the sone of Tenoemeth, and the sones of Offi, that weren of Nethophati, and Jeconye, the sone of Machati; bothe thei and her men camen to Godolie.
da kamen sie zu Gedalja nach Mizpa: nämlich Ismael, der Sohn Nethanjas, und Jochanan und Jonathan, die Söhne Kareachs, und Seraja, der Sohn Tanchumeths, und die Söhne Ophais, des Netophathiters, und Jesanja, der Sohn eines Maakathiters, sie und ihre Männer.
9 And Godolie, sone of Aicham, sone of Saphan, swoor to hem, and to the felowis of hem, and seide, Nyle ye drede to serue Caldeis; but dwelle ye in the lond, and serue ye the kyng of Babiloyne, and it schal be wel to you.
Und Gedalja, der Sohn Achikams, des Sohnes Schaphans, schwur ihnen und ihren Männern und sprach: Fürchtet euch nicht, den Chaldäern zu dienen; bleibet im Lande und dienet dem König von Babel, so wird es euch wohlgehen.
10 Lo! Y dwelle in Mesphath, for to answere to the comaundement of Caldeis, that ben sent to vs; forsothe gadere ye vyndage, and ripe corn, and oile, and kepe ye in youre vessels, and dwelle ye in youre citees whiche ye holden.
Und ich, siehe, ich bleibe in Mizpa, um vor den Chaldäern zu stehen, die zu uns kommen werden. Ihr aber sammelt Wein und Obst und Öl ein, und tut sie in eure Gefäße; und wohnet in euren Städten, die ihr in Besitz genommen habt.
11 But also alle the Jewis, that weren in Moab, and in the oostis of Amon, and in Ydumee, and in alle the cuntreis, whanne it is herd, that the kyng of Babiloyne hadde youe residues, ether remenauntis, in Judee, and that he hadde maad souereyn on hem Godolie, the sone of Aicham, sone of Saphan,
Und auch alle Juden, welche in Moab und unter den Kindern Ammon und in Edom, und welche in allen diesen Ländern waren, hörten, daß der König von Babel einen Überrest in Juda gelassen, und daß er Gedalja, den Sohn Achikams, des Sohnes Schaphans, über sie bestellt hatte;
12 sotheli alle Jewis turneden ayen fro alle places, to whiche thei hadden fled; and thei camen in to the lond of Juda, to Godolie in Masphat, and gaderiden wyn and ripe corn ful myche.
und alle Juden kehrten aus all den Orten zurück, wohin sie vertrieben worden waren, und sie kamen in das Land Juda zu Gedalja nach Mizpa. Und sie sammelten sehr viel Wein und Obst ein.
13 Forsothe Johannan, the sone of Caree, and alle the princes of the oost, that weren scaterid in the cuntreis, camen to Godolie in Masphath,
Und Jochanan, der Sohn Kareachs, und alle Heerobersten, die im Gefilde gewesen waren, kamen zu Gedalja nach Mizpa,
14 and seiden to hym, Wite thou, that Bahalis, kyng of the sones of Amon, hath sent Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, to smyte thi lijf. And Godolie, the sone of Aicham, bileuyde not to hem.
und sie sprachen zu ihm: Weißt du auch, daß Baalis, der König der Kinder Ammon, Ismael, den Sohn Nethanjas, ausgesandt hat, um dich zu ermorden? Aber Gedalja, der Sohn Achikams, glaubte ihnen nicht.
15 Forsothe Johannan, the sone of Caree, seide to Godolie asidis half in Masphath, and spak, Y schal go, and sle Ismael, the sone of Nathanye, while no man knowith, lest he sle thi lijf, and alle the Jewis ben scatered, that ben gaderid to thee, and the remenauntis of Juda schulen perische.
Und Jochanan, der Sohn Kareachs, sprach insgeheim zu Gedalja in Mizpa und sagte: Laß mich doch hingehen und Ismael, den Sohn Nethanjas, erschlagen, und niemand wird es wissen; warum soll er dich ermorden, daß alle Juden, die sich zu dir gesammelt haben, zerstreut werden, und der Überrest von Juda umkomme?
16 And Godolie, the sone of Aicham, seide to Johannan, the sone of Caree, Nyle thou do this word, for thou spekist fals of Ismael.
Aber Gedalja, der Sohn Achikams, sprach zu Jochanan, dem Sohne Kareachs: Tue diese Sache nicht, denn du redest eine Lüge über Ismael.
