Jeremiah 32
1 The word that was maad of the Lord to Jeremye, in the tenthe yeer of Sedechie, kyng of Juda; thilke is the eiytenthe yeer of Nabugodonosor.
Sứ điệp tiếp theo của Chúa Hằng Hữu ban cho Giê-rê-mi trong năm thứ mười triều đại Sê-đê-kia, vua Giu-đa. Nhằm năm thứ mười tám triều Vua Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa.
2 Thanne the oost of the kyng of Babiloyne bisegide Jerusalem; and Jeremye, the profete, was closid in the porche of the prisoun, that was in the hous of the kyng of Juda.
Lúc ấy, quân đội Ba-by-lôn đang bao vây Giê-ru-sa-lem, còn Giê-rê-mi đang bị giam cầm trong sân thị vệ tại cung điện hoàng gia.
3 For whi Sedechie, the kyng of Juda, hadde closid hym, and seide, Whi profesiest thou, seiynge, The Lord seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal yyue this citee in the hond of the kyng of Babyloyne, and he schal take it; and Sedechie,
Vua Sê-đê-kia giam Giê-rê-mi tại đó, và hỏi ông tại sao cứ nói lời tiên tri này: “Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: ‘Này, Ta sẽ nộp thành này cho vua Ba-by-lôn, cho nó chiếm đóng.
4 the kyng of Juda, schal not ascape fro the hond of Caldeis, but he schal be bitake in to the hond of the kyng of Babiloyne; and his mouth schal speke with the mouth of hym, and hise iyen schulen se the iyen of hym;
Vua Sê-đê-kia sẽ bị người Ba-by-lôn bắt và sẽ bị giải tới trước mặt vua Ba-by-lôn để trực tiếp tra vấn.
5 and he schal lede Sedechie in to Babiloyne, and he schal be there, til Y visyte hym, seith the Lord; forsothe if ye fiyten ayens Caldeis, ye schulen haue no thing in prosperite?
Vua ấy sẽ giải Sê-đê-kia về Ba-by-lôn, và ở đó cho đến khi Ta thăm viếng,’ Chúa Hằng Hữu phán. ‘Dù vua kháng cự đến đâu cũng không thắng quân Ba-by-lôn được?’”
6 And Jeremye seide, The word of the Lord was maad to me, and seide, Lo!
Lúc đó Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo tôi sứ điệp này. Chúa phán:
7 Ananeel, the sone of Sellum, the sone of thi fadris brothir, schal come to thee, and seie, Bi thou to thee my feeld, which is in Anathot; for it bifallith to thee by niy kynrede, that thou bie it.
“Này, em chú bác của con là Ha-na-mê-ên, con Sa-lum, sẽ đến thăm con và nói: ‘Hãy mua đám ruộng của tôi ở A-na-tốt. Theo luật thì anh có quyền mua nó trước khi nó được bán cho người khác.’”
8 And Ananeel, the sone of my fadris brothir, cam to me, bi the word of the Lord, to the porche of the prisoun, and seide to me, Welde thou my feeld, which is in Anathot, in the lond of Beniamyn; for whi the erytage bifallith to thee, and thou art the next of blood, that thou welde it. Forsothe Y vndirstood, that it was the word of the Lord.
Rồi như lời Chúa Hằng Hữu đã phán, Ha-na-mê-ên, em chú bác của tôi đến thăm tôi trong tù. Ông đề nghị: “Xin anh mua giúp em đám ruộng tại A-na-tốt, xứ Bên-gia-min. Theo đúng luật, anh có quyền mua nó trước khi được bán cho người khác, vậy xin anh hãy mua ruộng đó làm gia sản.” Khi ấy, tôi biết đó là sứ điệp tôi đã nghe là từ Chúa Hằng Hữu.
9 And Y bouyte the feeld, which is in Anathot, of Ananeel, the sone of my fadris brothir. And Y paiede to hym siluer, seuene stateris, and ten platis of siluer;
Vậy, tôi liền mua đám ruộng tại A-na-tốt, và trả cho Ha-na-mê-ên mười bảy lạng bạc.
10 and Y wroot in a book, and Y seelide, and Y yaf witnessis. And Y weiede siluer in a balaunce;
Tôi ký tên và niêm phong khế ước mua bán trước mặt các nhân chứng, tôi cân đủ số bạc và trả cho em ấy.
11 and Y took the book aseelid of possessioun, and axingis and answerys of the seller and bier, and couenauntis, and seelis withoutforth.
Tôi lấy bản khế ước được niêm phong và bản sao khế ước không niêm phong, trong đó có ghi rõ thời hạn và các thể lệ mua bán,
12 And Y yaf the book of possessioun to Baruc, the sone of Neri, sone of Maasie, bifore the iyen of Ananeel, the sone of my fadris brother, and bifore the iyen of witnessis that weren writun in the book of biyng, bifore the iyen of alle Jewis, that saten in the porche of the prisoun.
và tôi giao bản sao cho Ba-rúc, con Nê-ri-gia và cháu Ma-a-sê-gia. Tôi làm tất cả việc này trước mặt người em họ là Ha-na-mê-ên, những người chứng kiến việc ký tên vào khế ước, và những người Giu-đa đang ngồi trong sân thị vệ.
13 And Y comaundide to Baruc bifore hem,
Và trước mặt, họ tôi dặn Ba-rúc:
14 and Y seide, The Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Take thou these bookis, this seelid book of biyng, and this book which is opyn, and putte thou tho in an erthen vessel, that tho moun dwelle bi many daies.
“Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên, phán: ‘Hãy lấy hai tờ khế ước này, bản niêm phong và bản sao không niêm phong, cất trong một bình gốm để giữ chúng lâu dài.’
15 For whi the Lord of oostis, God of Israel, seith these thingis, Yit housis, and feeldis, and vynes schulen be weldid in this lond.
Vì đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên, phán: ‘Sẽ có ngày dân chúng sẽ lại mua bán nhà, ruộng, và vườn nho trong xứ Ít-ra-ên.’”
16 And Y preiede to the Lord, aftir that Y bitook the book of possessioun to Baruc, the sone of Nery; and Y seide, Alas!
Sau khi giao các văn kiện mua đất cho Ba-rúc, tôi bèn cầu nguyện với Chúa Hằng Hữu:
17 alas! alas! Lord God, Lord, thou madist heuene and erthe in thi greet strengthe, and in thin arm stretchid forth; ech word schal not be hard to thee;
“Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao! Chính Ngài đã dùng quyền năng vĩ đại và cánh tay vô địch mà tạo dựng trời và đất. Thật chẳng có việc gì quá khó cho Ngài!
18 which doist merci in thousyndis, and yeldist the wickidnesse of fadris in to the bosum of her sones aftir hem. Thou strongeste, greet, myyti, Lord of oostis is name to thee;
Chúa tỏ lòng nhân từ thương xót nghìn đời, nhưng cũng phạt đến đời con cháu kế tiếp. Ngài là Đức Chúa Trời vĩ đại toàn năng, là Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân.
19 greet in councel, and vncomprehensible in thouyt, whose iyen ben open on alle the weies of the sones of Adam, that thou yelde to ech aftir hise weies, and aftir the fruyt of hise fyndyngis;
Ngài là Đấng khôn ngoan tuyệt đối, hay làm những phép lạ vĩ đại và diệu kỳ. Mắt Chúa quan sát nếp sống của loài người, và Ngài thưởng phạt theo nếp sống của mỗi người.
20 which settidist signes and greet woundris in the lond of Egipt, `til to this dai, bothe in Israel and in men; and madist to thee a name, as this dai is.
Chúa đã thực hiện những phép mầu điềm lạ tại Ai Cập—những điều mà dân chúng vẫn còn nhớ đến ngày nay! Chúa đã tiếp tục thi thố những phép lạ vĩ đại tại nước Ít-ra-ên và toàn thế giới. Ngài đã làm Danh Ngài nổi tiếng đến ngày nay.
21 And thou leddist thi puple Israel out of the lond of Egipt, in signes and in greet woundris, and in a strong hond, and in an arm holdun forth, and in greet dreed; and thou yauest to hem this lond,
Chúa đã giải thoát Ít-ra-ên ra khỏi ngục tù Ai Cập bằng những phép lạ lớn lao và diệu kỳ, với đôi tay mạnh mẽ và cánh tay quyền năng, làm cho mọi người khiếp sợ.
22 which thou sworist to the fadris of hem, that thou woldist yyue to hem, a lond flowynge with milk and hony.
Chúa đã cho dân tộc Ít-ra-ên đất nước này như Ngài hứa với tổ phụ họ từ xưa—là đất tràn đầy sữa và mật.
23 And thei entriden, and hadden it in possessioun; and thei obeieden not to thi vois, and thei yeden not in thi lawe; alle thingis whiche thou comaundidist to hem to do, thei diden not; and alle these yuels bifellen to hem.
Tổ phụ chúng con đã vào chiếm cả xứ này làm cơ nghiệp, tuy nhiên, họ không vâng lời Chúa và không vâng giữ luật pháp Ngài. Họ không thi hành một mệnh lệnh nào của Ngài. Vì thế, Chúa đã giáng tai họa khủng khiếp trên họ.
24 Lo! strengthis ben bildid ayens the citee, that it be takun, and the citee is youun in to the hondis of Caldeis, and in to the hondis of the kyng of Babiloyne, that fiyten ayens it, of the face of swerd, and of hungur, and of pestilence; and what euer thingis thou spakest, bifellen, as thou thi silf seest.
Xin Chúa xem các pháo đài cao được dựng để tấn công các tường thành! Bởi chiến tranh, đói kém, và dịch bệnh, nên thành này sẽ bị nộp vào tay người Ba-by-lôn, là dân sẽ xâm chiếm nó. Tất cả biến cố đều xảy ra đúng như lời Chúa đã phán.
25 And Lord God, thou seist to me, Bie thou a feeld for siluer, and yyue thou witnessis, whanne the citee is youun in the hondis of Caldeis.
Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao, vậy mà Ngài còn bảo con mua ruộng—trả một số bạc lớn trước mặt các nhân chứng làm chi—dù thành này sắp bị nộp vào tay người Ba-by-lôn.”
26 And the word of the Lord was maad to Jeremye, and seide, Lo!
Chúa Hằng Hữu liền trả lời cho Giê-rê-mi:
27 Y am the Lord God of `al fleisch. Whether ony word schal be hard to me?
“Ta là Chúa Hằng Hữu, là Đức Chúa Trời của cả nhân loại. Có việc gì khó quá cho Ta không?
28 Therfor the Lord seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal bitake this citee in to the hondis of Caldeis, and in to the hond of the kyng of Babiloyne, and he schal take it.
Vì thế, đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: Ta sẽ giao thành này vào tay người Ba-by-lôn và Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, và vua sẽ chiếm thành.
29 And Caldeis schulen come, and fiyte ayens this citee, and thei schulen brenne it with fier, and thei schulen brenne it, and housis, in whose rooues thei sacrifieden to Baal, and offriden moist sacrifices to alien goddis, to terre me to wraththe.
Quân Ba-by-lôn ngoài thành sẽ tấn công vào và phóng hỏa đốt thành. Chúng sẽ thiêu hủy tất cả đền đài mà dân chúng đã cố tình chọc giận Ta bằng cách dâng hương cho thần Ba-anh trên mái nhà và dâng rượu cho các tà thần khác.
30 For whi the sones of Israel and the sones of Juda diden yuel contynueli, fro her yonge waxynge age, bifore myn iyen, the sones of Israel, whiche `til to now wraththen me bi the werk of her hondis, seith the Lord.
Ít-ra-ên và Giu-đa chỉ biết làm ác từ ngày mới dựng nước. Chúng tạo đủ mọi thứ để khiêu khích Ta,” Chúa Hằng Hữu phán.
31 For whi this citee is maad to me in my strong veniaunce and indignacioun, fro the day in which thei bildiden it, `til to this dai, in which it schal be takun awei fro my siyt;
“Từ khi thành này được sáng lập đến nay, dân cư nó chỉ cố tình chọc giận Ta, vậy nên Ta quyết định dẹp nó đi.
32 for the malice of the sones of Israel, and of the sones of Juda, which thei diden, terrynge me to wrathfulnesse, thei, and the kyngis of hem, the princes of hem, and the prestis, and profetis of hem, the men of Juda, and the dwelleris of Jerusalem.
Tội lỗi của Ít-ra-ên và Giu-đa—tội của người Giê-ru-sa-lem, các vua, các quan chức, các thầy tế lễ, và các tiên tri—đều đã trêu tức Ta.
33 And thei turneden to me the backis, and not the faces, whanne Y tauyte, and enformede hem erli; and thei nolden here, that thei schulden take techyng.
Dân Ta xoay lưng lìa bỏ Ta và không chịu quay về. Dù Ta đã kiên nhẫn dạy chúng, nhưng chúng không chịu nghe và thực hành.
34 And thei settiden her idols in the hous, in which my name is clepid to help, that thei schulden defoule it.
Chúng dám đem thần tượng ghê tởm vào làm nhơ bẩn Đền Thờ Ta.
35 And thei bildiden hiy thingis to Baal, that ben in the valei of the sones of Ennon, that thei schulden halewe her sones and her douytris to Moloc, which thing Y comaundide not to hem, nether it stiede in to myn herte, that thei schulden do this abhomynacioun, and brynge Juda in to synne.
Chúng còn xây các bàn thờ cao cho tà thần Ba-anh trong thung lũng Ben Hin-nôm, để thiêu sống con trai và con gái mình cho thần Mô-lóc. Ta chẳng bao giờ truyền bảo một việc ghê tởm như thế; hay nghĩ tới một việc như vậy. Thật là tội ác không thể nào tưởng tượng được, nó đã khiến Giu-đa phạm tội nghiêm trọng!”
36 And now for these thingis, the Lord God of Israel seith these thingis to this citee, of whiche ye seien, that it schal be bitakun in to the hondis of the kyng of Babiloyne, in swerd, and in hungur, and in pestilence, Lo!
“Bây giờ Ta sẽ phán thêm về thành này. Các ngươi nói rằng: ‘Thành này sẽ rơi vào tay vua Ba-by-lôn trong lúc chiến tranh, đói kém, và dịch bệnh.’ Nhưng đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên, phán:
37 Y schal gadere hem fro alle londis, to whiche Y castide hem out in my strong veniaunce, and in my wraththe, and in greet indignacioun; and Y schal brynge hem ayen to this place, and Y schal make hem to dwelle tristili.
Ta sẽ đem dân Ta trở về từ các xứ mà Ta đã phân tán họ ra trong cơn thịnh nộ. Ta sẽ đem họ về trong thành này, cho họ được an cư lạc nghiệp.
38 And thei schulen be in to a puple to me, and Y schal be in to God to hem.
Họ sẽ làm dân Ta và Ta sẽ làm Đức Chúa Trời của họ.
39 And Y schal yyue to hem oon herte and o soule, that thei drede me in alle daies, and that it be wel to hem, and to her sones aftir hem.
Ta sẽ cho họ cùng một lòng một trí: Thờ phượng Ta mãi mãi, vì ích lợi cho bản thân họ cũng như cho tất cả dòng dõi họ.
40 And Y schal smyte to hem a couenaunt euerlastynge, and Y schal not ceese to do wel to hem, and Y schal yyue my drede in the herte of hem, that thei go not awey fro me.
Ta sẽ lập một giao ước đời đời với họ: Ta sẽ chẳng bao giờ lìa bỏ họ và sẽ ban phước lành cho họ. Ta sẽ đặt niềm kính sợ Ta vào lòng họ để họ không bao giờ lìa bỏ Ta nữa.
41 And Y schal be glad on hem, whanne Y schal do wel to hem; and Y schal plaunte hem in this lond in treuthe, in al myn herte, and in al my soule.
Ta sẽ vui lòng ban phước dồi dào và hết lòng duy trì, củng cố xứ sở họ.
42 For the Lord seith these thingis, As Y brouyte on this puple al this greet yuel, so Y schal brynge on hem al the good, which Y schal speke to hem.
Đây là điều Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: Như Ta đã giữ đúng lời cảnh cáo giáng họa trên dân này thể nào, Ta cũng sẽ giữ đúng lời hứa ban phước lành cho họ thể ấy.
43 And feeldis schulen be weldid in this lond, of which ye seien, that it is desert, for no man and beeste is left; and it is youun in to the hondis of Caldeis.
Người ta sẽ mua và bán ruộng đất trong xứ này, là đất mà các ngươi nói: ‘Nó là một nơi hoang vu không có người hay thú vật, vì đã từng giao nạp cho Ba-by-lôn.’
44 Feeldis schulen be bouyt for money, and schulen be writun in a book, and a seel schal be preentid; and witnessis schulen be youun, in the lond of Beniamyn, and in the cumpas of Jerusalem, and in the citees of Juda, and in the citees in hilli places, and in the citees in feeldi places, and in the citees that ben at the south; for Y schal turne the caitiftee of hem, seith the Lord.
Phải, dân chúng sẽ lại mua và bán ruộng đất—ký khế ước, đóng dấu, và mời người làm chứng—trong xứ Bên-gia-min và các khu thị tứ Giê-ru-sa-lem, các thành Giu-đa và các vùng đồi núi, các đồng bằng Phi-li-tin, đến tận xứ Nê-ghép. Vì sẽ có ngày Ta sẽ làm cho đất nước này phồn thịnh. Ta, Chúa Hằng Hữu, phán vậy!”
