Jeremiah 30
1 This is the word, that was maad of the Lord to Jeremye,
La parole qui fut adressée à Jérémie de la part de Yahvé, en ces mots:
2 and seide, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, and spekith, Write to thee in a book, alle these wordis whiche Y spak to thee.
Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël, dit: Écris dans un livre toutes les paroles que je t'ai dites.
3 For lo! daies comen, seith the Lord, and Y schal turne the turnyng of my puple Israel and Juda, seith the Lord; and Y schal turne hem to the lond which Y yaf to the fadris of hem, and thei schulen haue it in possessioun.
Car voici, les jours viennent, dit Yahvé, où je rétablirai la captivité de mon peuple d'Israël et de Juda, dit Yahvé. Je les ferai retourner dans le pays que j'ai donné à leurs pères, et ils le posséderont. »
4 And these ben the wordis, whiche the Lord spak to Israel, and to Juda,
Telles sont les paroles que l'Éternel a prononcées sur Israël et sur Juda.
5 For the Lord seith these thingis, We herden a word of drede; inward drede is, and pees is not.
Car Yahvé dit: « Nous avons entendu une voix tremblante; une voix de peur, et non de paix.
6 Axe ye, and se, if a male berith child; whi therfor siy Y the hond of ech man on his leende, as of a womman trauelynge of child, and alle faces ben turned in to yelow colour?
Interrogez maintenant, et voyez si un homme est en train d'accoucher. Pourquoi je vois chaque homme avec les mains sur la taille, comme une femme en travail, et tous les visages sont devenus pâles?
7 Wo! for thilke day is greet, nether ony is lyk it; and it is a tyme of tribulacioun to Jacob, and of hym schal be sauyd.
Hélas, car ce jour est grand, si bien qu'il n'y en a pas de semblable! C'est même le temps des problèmes de Jacob; mais il en sera sauvé.
8 And it schal be, in that dai, seith the Lord of oostis, Y schal al to-breke the yok of hym fro thi necke, and Y schal breke hise boondis; and aliens schulen no more be lordis of it,
En ce jour-là, dit l'Éternel des armées, je briserai son joug de dessus votre cou, et brisera vos liens. Les étrangers n'en feront plus leurs esclaves;
9 but thei schulen serue to her Lord God, and to Dauid, her kyng, whom Y schal reyse for hem.
mais ils serviront Yahvé, leur Dieu, et David leur roi, que je leur susciterai.
10 Therfor, Jacob, my seruaunt, drede thou not, seith the Lord, and Israel, drede thou not; for lo! Y schal saue thee fro a fer lond, and thi seed fro the lond of the caitiftee of hem. And Jacob schal turne ayen, and schal reste, and schal flowe with alle goodis; and noon schal be whom he schal drede.
C'est pourquoi n'aie pas peur, Jacob, mon serviteur, dit Yahvé. Ne sois pas consterné, Israël. Car voici, je vous sauverai de loin, et sauve ta progéniture du pays de leur captivité. Jacob reviendra, et sera tranquille et à l'aise. Personne ne lui fera peur.
11 For Y am with thee, seith the Lord, for to saue thee. For Y schal make endyng in alle folkis, in whiche Y scateride thee; sotheli Y schal not make thee in to endyng, but Y schal chastise thee in doom, that thou be not seyn to thee to be gilteles.
Car je suis avec vous, dit Yahvé, pour vous sauver; car je ferai disparaître toutes les nations où je vous ai dispersés, mais je n'en finirai pas avec vous; mais je vais vous corriger sur mesure, et ne vous laissera en aucun cas impuni. »
12 For the Lord seith these thingis, Thi brekyng is vncurable, thi wounde is the worste.
Car Yahvé dit, « Votre blessure est incurable. Votre blessure est grave.
13 Noon is, that demeth thi doom to bynde togidere; the profit of heelyngis is not to thee.
Il n'y a personne pour plaider ta cause, pour que vous soyez liés. Vous n'avez pas de médicaments de guérison.
14 Alle thi louyeris han foryete thee, thei schulen not seke thee; for Y haue smyte thee with the wounde of an enemy, with cruel chastisyng; for the multitude of thi wickidnesse, thi synnes ben maad hard.
Tous tes amants t'ont oubliée. Ils ne vous cherchent pas. Car je t'ai blessé avec la blessure d'un ennemi, avec le châtiment d'un cruel, pour la grandeur de ton iniquité, parce que vos péchés ont augmenté.
15 What criest thou on thi brekynge? thi sorewe is vncurable; for the multitude of thi wickidnesse, and for thin hard synnes, Y haue do these thingis to thee.
Pourquoi pleurez-vous sur votre blessure? Votre douleur est incurable. Pour la grandeur de votre iniquité, parce que vos péchés ont augmenté, Je vous ai fait ces choses.
16 Therfor alle that eeten thee, schulen be deuourid, and alle thin enemyes schulen be led in to caitifte; and thei that distrien thee, schulen be distried, and Y schal yyue alle thi robberis in to raueyn.
C'est pourquoi tous ceux qui vous dévorent seront dévorés. Tous tes adversaires, chacun d'eux, iront en captivité. Ceux qui vous pillent seront pillés. Je ferai en sorte que tous ceux qui s'en prennent à vous deviennent des proies.
17 For Y schal heele perfitli thi wounde, and Y schal make thee hool of thi woundis, seith the Lord; for thou, Sion, thei clepeden thee cast out; this is it that hadde no sekere.
Car je vous rendrai la santé, et je te guérirai de tes blessures, dit Yahvé, « parce qu'ils t'ont traité de paria, en disant: « C'est Sion, que personne ne cherche. »
18 The Lord seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal turne the turnyng of the tabernaclis of Jacob, and Y schal haue merci on the housis of hym; and the citee schal be bildid in his hiynesse, and the temple schal be foundid bi his ordre.
Yahvé dit: « Voici, je vais renverser la captivité des tentes de Jacob, et ayez de la compassion pour ses demeures. La ville sera construite sur sa propre colline, et le palais sera habité à sa place.
19 And heriyng and the vois of pleiers schal go out of hem, and Y schal multiplie hem, and thei schulen not be decreessid; and Y schal glorifie hem, and thei schulen not be maad thynne.
L'action de grâce sortira d'eux avec la voix de ceux qui font la fête. Je les multiplierai, et ils ne seront pas peu nombreux; Je vais aussi les glorifier, et ils ne seront pas petits.
20 And the sones therof schulen be as at the bigynnyng, and the cumpeny therof schal dwelle bifore me; and Y schal visite ayens alle that doon tribulacioun to it.
Leurs enfants aussi seront comme avant, et leur congrégation sera établie devant moi. Je punirai tous ceux qui les oppriment.
21 And the duyk therof schal be of it, and a prince schal be brouyt forth of the myddis therof; and Y schal applie hym, and he schal neiye to me; for who is this, that schal applie his herte, that he neiye to me? seith the Lord.
Leur prince sera l'un d'entre eux, et leur chef sortira du milieu d'eux. Je le ferai s'approcher, et il s'approchera de moi; car qui est celui qui a eu l'audace de s'approcher de moi? dit Yahvé.
22 And ye schulen be in to a puple to me, and Y schal be in to God to you.
« Vous serez mon peuple, et je serai votre Dieu.
23 Lo! the whirlewynd of the Lord, a strong veniaunce goynge out, a tempest fallynge doun, schal reste in the heed of wickid men.
Voici que l'orage de Yahvé, sa colère, a éclaté, une tempête qui balaie tout; elle éclatera sur la tête des méchants.
24 The Lord schal not turne awey the ire of indignacioun, til he do, and fille the thouyt of his herte; in the laste of daies ye schulen vndurstonde tho thingis.
L'ardente colère de Yahvé ne reviendra pas avant qu'il ait accompli, et jusqu'à ce qu'il ait accompli les intentions de son cœur. Dans les derniers jours, vous le comprendrez. »
