Jeremiah 22
1 The Lord seith these thingis, Go thou doun in to the hous of the kyng of Juda, and thou schalt speke there this word, and schalt seie,
Así dice Yahvé: “Baja a la casa del rey de Judá, y di allí esta palabra:
2 Thou kyng of Juda, that sittist on the seete of Dauid, here the word of the Lord, thou, and thi seruauntis, and thi puple, that entren bi these yatis.
Dirás: Escucha la palabra de Yahvé, oh rey de Judá, que te sientas en el trono de David, tú, y tus servidores, y tu pueblo, los que entráis por estas puertas.
3 The Lord seith these thingis, Do ye doom, and riytfulnesse, and delyuere ye hym that is oppressid bi violence fro the hond of the fals chalenger; and nyle ye make sori, nether oppresse ye wickidli a comelyng, and a fadirles child, and a widewe, and schede ye not out innocent blood in this place.
Así dice Yahvé: Haced lo recto y lo justo, y librad al oprimido de mano del opresor: no maltratéis al extranjero, al huérfano y a la viuda, ni les hagáis violencia; y no derraméis sangre inocente en este lugar.
4 For if ye doynge don this word, kyngis of the kyn of Dauid sittynge on his trone schulen entre bi the yatis of this hous, and schulen stie on charis and horsis, thei, and the seruauntis, and the puple of hem.
Si de veras cumpliereis esta palabra, entrarán por las puertas de esta Casa reyes que se sienten en el trono de David, montados en carrozas y caballos; ellos y sus servidores y su pueblo.
5 That if ye heren not these wordis, Y swoore in my silf, seith the Lord, that this hous schal be in to wildirnesse.
Pero si no escucháis estas palabras, entonces por Mí mismo juro, dice Yahvé, que esta Casa vendrá a ser desolada.
6 For the Lord seith these thingis on the hous of the kyng of Juda, Galaad, thou art to me the heed of the Liban; credence be not youun to me, if Y sette not thee a wildirnesse, citees vnhabitable.
Porque así dice Yahvé acerca de la casa del rey de Judá: Aunque eras para mí un Galaad y (como) la cima del Líbano; con todo haré de ti un desierto, una ciudad inhabitada.
7 And Y schal halewe on thee a man sleynge, and hise armuris; and thei schulen kitte doun thi chosun cedris, and schulen caste doun in to fier.
He consagrado contra ti destructores, cada uno con sus armas; cortarán tus cedros escogidos y los echarán al fuego.
8 And many folkis schulen passe bi this citee, and ech man schal seie to his neiybore, Whi dide the Lord thus to this greet citee?
Y pasará mucha gente ante esta ciudad, y se dirán unos a otros: «¿Por qué ha tratado Yahvé así a esta gran ciudad?»
9 And thei schulen answere, For thei forsoken the couenaunt of her Lord God, and worschipiden alien goddis, and serueden hem.
Y se dará por respuesta: «Porque abandonaron el pacto de Yahvé, su Dios, y adoraron a otros dioses y los sirvieron».”
10 Nyle ye biwepe hym that is deed, nether weile ye on hym bi wepyng; biweile ye hym that goith out, for he schal no more turne ayen, nether he schal se the lond of his birthe.
No lloréis al difunto, ni hagáis duelo por él; llorad al contrario por el que se ha ido (al cautiverio), porque no volverá más, ni verá la tierra de su nacimiento.
11 For the Lord seith these thingis to Sellum, the sone of Josie, the kyng of Juda, that regnede for Josye, his fadir, He that yede out of this place, schal no more turne ayen hidur;
Porque así dice Yahvé en orden a Sellum, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá, el que reinó en lugar de su padre Josías, y salió de este lugar: “No volverá más aquí;
12 but in the place to which Y translatide him, there he schal die, and he schal no more se this lond.
en el lugar adonde le han llevado cautivo, allí morirá, y no verá ya más esta tierra.”
13 Wo to him that bildith his hous in vnriytfulnesse, and his soleris not in doom; he schal oppresse his freend in veyn, and he schal not yelde his hire to hym.
Ay del que edifica su casa sin justicia, y sus salones sin equidad; que hace trabajar a su prójimo sin salario, y no le paga el jornal de su trabajo;
14 Which seith, Y schal bilde to me a large hous, and wide soleris; which openeth wyndows to hym silf, and makith couplis of cedre, and peyntith with reed colour.
que dice: “Me edificaré una casa grande, con amplias salas”, y hace en ella grandes ventanas, la cubre de cedros y la pinta de bermellón.
15 Whether thou schalt regne, for thou comparisonest thee to a cedre? whether thi fadir eet not, and drank, and dide doom and riytfulnesse thanne, whanne it was wel to hym?
¿Acaso tú eres rey para rivalizar en obras de cedro? ¿Por ventura no comió y bebió tu padre y fue feliz haciendo lo recto y justo?
16 He demyde the cause of a pore man, and nedi, in to his good; whether not therfor for he knew me? seith the Lord.
Defendía la causa del pobre y del desvalido; y así le fue bien. ¿No es esto conocerme a Mí? dice Yahvé.
17 Forsothe thin iyen and herte ben to aueryce, and to schede innocent blood, and to fals caleng, and to the perfourmyng of yuel werk.
Pero tus ojos y tu corazón no buscan más que tu propio interés, el derramar sangre inocente y hacer opresión y violencia.
18 Therfor the Lord seith these thingis to Joachym, the sone of Josie, the kyng of Juda, Thei schulen not biweile hym, Wo brother! and wo sistir! thei schulen not sowne togidere to hym, Wo lord! and wo noble man!
Por tanto, así dice Yahvé respecto de Joakim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá: “No le lamentarán (diciendo): «¡Ay, hermano mío!» «¡Ay, hermana mía!» No le llorarán (clamando): «¡Ay, señor mío!» «¡Ay, su majestad!»
19 He schal be biried with the biriyng of an asse, he schal be rotun, and cast forth without the yatis of Jerusalem.
Será enterrado como un asno; le arrastrarán y le arrojarán fuera de las puertas de Jerusalén.”
20 Stie thou on the Liban, and cry thou, and yyue thi vois in Basan, and cry to hem that passen forth, for alle thi louyeris ben al to-brokun.
Sube (oh Jerusalén) al Líbano y clama; en Basan alza tu voz; grita desde Abarim; pues han sido destruidos todos tus amantes.
21 Y spak to thee in thi plentee, and thou seidist, Y schal not here; this is thi weie fro thi yongthe, for thou herdist not my vois.
Yo te hablé en tu prosperidad, y tú dijiste: “No quiero escuchar.” Este ha sido tu proceder desde tu mocedad; no has escuchado mi voz.
22 Wynd schal feede alle thi scheepherdis, and thi louyeris schulen go in to caitifte;
El viento llevará a todos tus pastores, y tus amantes irán al cautiverio. Entonces te llenarás de confusión, y de vergüenza a causa de todas tus maldades.
23 and thanne thou that sittist in the Liban, and makist nest in cedris, schalt be schent, and be aschamed of al thi malice. Hou weilidist thou, whanne sorewis weren comun to thee, as the sorew of a womman trauelynge of child?
Tú que habitas en el Líbano y anidas en los cedros, ¡cómo gemirás cuando te sobrevengan las angustias, los dolores, como a mujer que da a luz!
24 I lyue, seith the Lord, for thouy Jeconye, the sone of Joachym, kyng of Juda, were a ring in my riyt hond, fro thennus Y schal drawe awei hym.
“Por mi vida, dice Yahvé; aunque Jeconías, hijo de Joakim, rey de Judá, fuese el anillo de mi mano derecha, de allí te arrancaría,
25 And Y schal yyue thee in the hond of hem that seken thi lijf, and in the hond of hem whos face thou dredist, and in the hond of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, and in the hond of Caldeis.
te entregaré a los que buscan tu vida, en poder de los que temes; en manos de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, y en poder de los caldeos.
26 And Y schal sende thee, and thi moder that gendride thee, in to an alien lond, in which ye weren not borun, and there ye schulen die;
Te arrojaré a ti y a tu madre que te dio a luz, a otro país, en que no nacisteis, y allí moriréis.
27 and thei schulen not turne ayen in to the lond, to which thei reisen her soule, that thei turne ayen thidur.
No volverán al país adonde su alma anhela volver.”
28 Whether this man Jeconye is an erthene vessel, and al to-brokun? whether a vessel withouten al likyng? Whi ben he and his seed cast awei, and cast forth in to a lond which thei knewen not?
¿Es, pues, este hombre Jeconías una vasija despreciada y quebrada, algún objeto que nadie quiere? ¿Por qué son arrojados él y su linaje, y llevados a un país que no conocían?
29 Erthe, erthe, erthe, here thou the word of the Lord.
¡Tierra, tierra, tierra, escucha la palabra de Yahvé!
30 The Lord seith these thingis, Write thou this man bareyn, a man that schal not haue prosperite in hise daies; for of his seed schal be no man, that schal sitte on the seete of Dauid, and haue powere ferthere in Juda.
Así dice Yahvé: “Inscribid a este hombre como estéril, como varón que no ha prosperado durante toda su vida, Pues no logrará que un descendiente suyo se siente en el trono de David para reinar en Judá.”
